Wiggles
Wiggles is a 7 year old Boxer in Shelton, CT, who needs $3,000 for Cancerous Mast Cell Removal Surgery.
Shelton
Wiggles came into our lives as a rescue through Companion Pet Rescue. From the moment we met her, her nonstop wiggly butt stole our hearts—that’s how she got her name (and her nickname, Wiggy/Wiggles). She’s the happiest, sweetest girl and it’s easy to fall in love with her. Wiggles has mast cell tumors (cancer) and needs surgery ASAP to remove them. This isn’t a simple condition—without treatment, it can spread and become life-threatening. We are working with VCA Shoreline’s surgery team, but the cost is more than we can afford. We just want to give her the chance she deserves. Wiggles is the happiest girl you’ll ever meet. Her tongue is always sticking out, and her whole body wiggles with excitement whenever she sees us. She loves everyone she meets and brings so much joy into our home. Her sweet, goofy personality and constant love are what make her so incredibly special. We’ve already spent over $5,000 trying to help Wiggles, and this next surgery is more than we can handle on our own. It’s been an unexpected and overwhelming expense. Getting her healthy again would mean everything to us. She’s truly a huge part of our family and our hearts.

Lola
Lola is a 10 year old Mix-Breed in Trumbull, CT, who needs $2,000 for Mammary Tumor May Need Chemo if Malignant.
Trumbull, CT
Lola was given to us about 7yrs ago as her previous owner was moving and pets were not allowed. We happy took her in and she adapted well with our other dog named Misty and they cuddle each day with each other. In 2022, I let Lola outside early morning and Lola was running and let out a cry that I’ve never heard before. Then noticed her back legs were giving out and she was unable to urinate. Rushed her to hospital and was told I have 3 options have the surgery, have a paralyzed dog or put her down. We chose surgery and she’s doing great but now 2024 Nov,she has a mammary tumor. Needs surgery again. Lola’s is so special to my family that her 1st surgery was only an 80% chance of her being able to use her legs again and we didn’t know her exact age that It didn’t matter to us if she had a year left or 2 to live. All we knew was that she’s a great healthy dog and she deserves a chance. She loves to run and play with her balls and squeaky toys and car rides. Her sister Misty hates car rides. 1st surgery 2022was over $11,000 for IVDD. Now her 2nd surgery estimate Nov 2024 is $9000+ which is placing a strain on emergency funds for our family. Just want Lola to live pain free and have the best life as possible with us. Don’t know how to live without her.

Jordy
Jordy is a 3 year old Mix-Breed in Ansonia, CT, who needs $2,000 for MRI, Neurology, and Possible Meds.
Ansonia, CT
I adopted Jordy with his littermate and sister Juno. Their mom was rescued from a kill shelter pregnant…. They were 4 months old when I got them. I love them both, but they are very different. Jordy is/ was my cuddle bug. He loves me and is very protective over me. I love him so very much. He is 3 years old. Became ill 3 weeks ago & got worse. Jordy collapsed this past Sunday. After a trip to the emergency vet (VNS Shelton, Ct) it was determined it’s either a stroke, brain tumor or meningitis. He is seeing a neurologist tomorrow and set up for an MRI. He has no use of his right legs. His right eye is unresponsive to stimulation (doesn’t blink) and has no use of his tail. The vet bill may be $4000+ We love him to death. My 13 year old son was hysterical yesterday after realizing the downward progression and that I have to carry his hind to go outside. The whole family loves him. We miss him playing fetch and his sister Juno is so confused as to why Jordy isn’t playing with her anymore. The bills are excessive. I already spent $800 just diagnosing him between his regular vet originally and then the Emergency vet. Tomorrows MRI and neurologist visit are going to very pricy. But he is only 3 years old, I can’t make a decision until I know what’s going on.

Kleo
Kleo is a 8 month old Siberian Husky in Stratford, CT, who needs $2,000 for Bandage, X-ray, Sedation, and Catheter.
Stratford, CT
Kleo is the youngest out of 2 siblings Kyro (husky) and Klaus(Doberman). She was a a birthday gift from my spouse to me. Ever since I’ve laid eyes on her she’s never left my side. Unfortunately Kleo was hit by a car. My spouse and I brought her to VCA in Shelton Ct. The doctors did some X-rays, a few stitches, and splint. The doctors told us Kleo’s Radius/Ulna is fractured surgery is around $8000-$10000, unfortunately we can’t around that in a week so we decided to go to the bandage and splint route. Bandaged, splint, and x rays for 8 weeks is still expensive for us. Kleo is just a ray of sunshine, she’s active, love to play with her siblings and a great cuddle buddy. When she doesn’t want to go outside to play she just wants to follow me all over the house and jump in my bed. Every morning she walks in my room to look at herself in the mirror and she gets surprised every time. It break my heart that she’s hurt along with her siblings since that can’t play. As we get older we have a lot on responsibility me and my spouse being in our early 20s is a little different at the moment and just want to make sure our little girl and boys are healthy. We don’t have human children but we have our fur babies.

Fozzie
Fozzie is a 6 year old Mix-Breed in Shelton, CT, who needs $2,000 for Deobstipation.
Shelton, CT
Fozzie was dropped at a Petco with his siblings way before he should’ve been taken from his mother. Luckily a local recuse came in and were able to save them and foster and adopt them out. We met Fozzie while he was in foster care and immediately fell in love. He’s currently 6 years old and is my sons’ best friend along with his feline brother Sushi. Fozzie is currently being treated at VCA Shoreline for severe constipation. He requires iv fluids, enemas, and hospitalization. He may require anesthesia and manual removal of the stool. Fozzie is the most wonderful gentle cat. When my children are upset, he knows and goes to them immediately. He will sit on their lap and rub his head against them until they are feeling better. I am a single working mom of 2 human boys and 2 feline boys. The emergency treatment for Fozzie will cost between $6000-$8500. I won’t let this special kitty have his colon rupture because I can’t afford the treatment.

Lizzie
Lizzie is a 1 year old Russian White, Black and Tabby in Seymour , CT, who needs $2,000 for Obstruction.
Seymour, CT
This is Lizzie she is 11 months old. She went outside and came home with an obstruction. She was my 8 year old birthday gift last year and I’m so torn up that this is happening. I can’t let her go but I always have tried all my options. She is going to need either surgical or medical treatment at the hospital. I have spent a quite a bite getting the test done. With treatment done she will be her happy healthy self. My cat is so special because my 8 year old needed an emotional support animal and let me tell you she is the best cat. She is so loving and cuddly. She is so vocal. I’m a single mom with 3 kids. I am sick to my stomach that my daughter is going to lose the animal that helps her get through life. It would mean the world to my little girl.

Mozart
Mozart is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in Naugatuck, CT, who needs $2,000 for ACL & MCL Surgery.
Naugatuck, CT
I adopted Mozart back in November of 2021 and he was just a tiny three month old baby. Mozart has been the light of our lives and has everyday spread joy to us. We are working day in and day out to support our children (the boys, Mozart & his brother Milo) We will always support our boys & take the best care for them. they are our whole entire world and we would be lost without them. Mozart was running in the backyard with his brother Milo when he tore his ACL & MCL. We noticed that he was limping right after he came in from outside and wouldn’t put weight on his back left leg. He tried to walk up our stairs and collapsed on the landing we immediately rushed him to VCA Shoreline to get him care.. he was diagnosed with an ACL & MCL tare. We set him up for Surgery on May 13th Mozart loves to nap, Cuddle with his papa & play outside with his younger brother Milo. Mozart’s favorite toy is his duck & loves to sleep on the bed with us everyday. Mozart loves to play with his herding ball outside & run back and fourth in our backyard everyday.. this has been so hard on him as he can’t do that anymore. He is not himself and it’s hurting us to see My Fiancé and I are both working full time to support the boys and our lives. We have taken out care credit cards in support of all the vet bills that we will be facing but we still can’t get enough for surgery. We will have to take time off work to take care of Mozart

Rocky Antonio
Rocky Antonio is a 12-year-old Mini Schnauzer in Waterbury , undefined, who needs $2,000 for Splenectomy.
Waterbury
I came across Rocky on an adoption website shortly after my father passed. I knew my mother needed someone to keep her company. After lots of waiting, I got the call that we were chosen to rescue him. We drove to the rescue in NJ to meet him. He was a mess! But we knew he would become part of our family. My mom chose his name as it was my father’s high school nickname. Last year my mother passed away. My sweet Rocky was by her side until her last breath. We both have been through so much together as her sickness took a toll on us. Rocky has been amazing with both of my children (3 years and 10 months). He especially loves to watch the baby and make sure he’s okay - ever since he was born. Rocky’s true love is his stuffed animals. He’s never liked other typical chew toys. He just loves his babies. I always call Rocky my “old puppy”. You would never think he’s his age by the way he acts. Except for the fact that he loves to go upstairs to bed. Even when he was younger, getting his stuffed duck and heading up to bed with us has been his favorite part of the day. Friday evening when I got home from work/daycare pickup, Rocky greeted us at the door like usual but he wasn’t barking - which is 100% not normal. I knew instantly something wasn’t right. My daughter and I took him outside and on the walk back in he was moving slower than usual. He got inside and immediately laid down and wouldn’t eat his food. I didn’t hesitate and called the emergency vet. Shockingly Rocky needed a splenectomy/biopsy. He has never been sick in his life so I felt like I was faced w/such a hard choice. I never got him pet insurance and I am beating myself up over that. Between daycare cost and life with kids in general any amount is appreciated.

Diamond
Diamond is a 5-month-old Chihuahua in Bridgeport, CT, who needs $2,000 for Diagnosis and Treatment.
Bridgeport, CT
Diamond came into my kids and my life unexpectedly. I got a new work case partner and she was telling me she had a puppy left from her last litter. She sent me a picture and video and we fell in love with her. I never had a small breed but Diamond just look so special and loving. With my fiancé working overseas Diamond was a perfect addition. We have 6 other rescued pets. Geno, Roxy, Mina, Nana, Bella, and Max. They all have their unique stories but with Diamond joining our family they all connected with her instantly. They are all very larger than her but have been patient and kind to her. Max our curious cat often takes naps with Diamond and plays hide and seek when she was well. Diamond as a certain kind of silliness to her. She hides under our couch and pops her head when her name is called, she loves to snuggle under my neck and lay in my chest. As much as we miss my fiancé she has definitely gave us happiness and something to look forward to everyday. Even though with two seizures and her being hypoglycemic she still pushes and tries to strive. Diamond is wonderful! Diamond is currently being hospitalized at Shortline Veterinary referral and Emergency Care in Shelton,CT. This is her second hospitalization and as of right now she is being diagnosed with hypoglycemia and a bacterial infection. But the biggest concern is why Diamond is not eating or drinking fluids on her own. This requires an extensive amount of testing which is costly. This is a very unexpected and urgent medical expense that I am dealing with. We love our animals and Diamond is very special to my two daughters 6 and 3. They have an attachment to her and it would be devastating to them if she was not in our lives.

Ziggy
Ziggy is a 3-year-old Chinese Crested/Dachshund in Bethany, CT, who needs $2,000 for TPLO Surgery.
Bethany, CT
Ziggy came into our lives through adoption around 3 years ago. He was originally from North Carolina, but now happily lives in Connecticut. He shares his humans with his adopted feline sister, Tilly. Ziggy came with his name, and it fit him so well, we decided not to change it. Though, when he was a puppy, he "zipped' more than "zigged". Ziggy is a bed bug and prefers to stay in his human's bed. When he is not in bed, he spends his days as a professional greeter at a flower shop. He can be a bit rude to incoming customers, as he forgets his manners. When Mom is busy and cannot give her undivided attention, Ziggy does not hesitate to entertain himself. With his big bin of toys, it is hard not to. Ziggy is hairless, and that makes him very special. Mainly, because Mom is not cleaning up dog fur. Ziggy has quite the personality, otherwise. If he hears the word "SQUIRREL", it is not uncommon for him to run to the nearest window. The biggest thing is, he can howl on command, and quite proud of himself when he does. Though, he prefers to pack howl. Not to metion, he is very fluent in english. Ziggy's humans noticed a limp. He was taken to his regular vet, where the doctor could not diagnose for sure but was assuming that he pulled or tore his cruciate. We were advised to consult a surgeon. Meeting with the surgeon), he advised a TPLO surgery. Now a specialist will be proceeding with said surgery. Between being a small business owner, a widow, and a homeowner with a home that needs major repairs, it is quite a financial burden to entertain the idea of a surgery that can cost upwards of over $7,000. To get to this point, I have already spent $1,500 just for the test.

Benji
Benji is a 3-year-old in Norwalk , CT, who needs $1,000 for Treat blockage.
Norwalk, CT
Benji is suffering from an infection in his kidneys that needs serious medical attention. We have taken him to the clinic that transferred him to the animal hospital because his condition was very bad. Benji needs serious medical attention that is very expensive we need all the help possible to help him. Benji is 3 years old, I got him as just a small kitten & raised him for the past three years he’s such a sweet wonderful boy. He’s very smart loving and holds a very special part in my life. We need help saving him so that he can come home. First he needs to get better but we need help to get him there. Benji has been by my side since he was born. Me and him have a special bond no one could understand. He’s the most crazy, funny, loving boy, and I’m lucky to have had him come into my life and I can’t lose him. I’m asking for help to save his life and bring him back into my life so we can get back to normal. Benji was brought to a clinic that had to admit him to a ER pet hospital. He’s in need of severe medical attention. He has a blockage and needs his kidneys to be flushed. He’s been having issues flushing his system which is costing a lot in bills to help him. He’s going through a lot and within just a day he’s gotten worse. We have already spend over 1,000 on the first two medical bills and there’s more to come. The total amount will range from 3,000-5,000 if benji can get better to come home.

Cookie
Cookie is a 4-month-old Pomapoo in New Haven, CT, who needs $1,900 for knee surgery.
New Haven, CT
Hello my name is Jennifer. My puppy’s name is Cookie. She is 4 months old and she was a gift from my husband to my 12 year old daughter. We named her Cookie because of her color. My daughter always wanted a puppy but she’s allergic to animals and finally we found Cookie. She doesn’t shed and my daughter is able to play with her without having an allergic reaction. Cookie was what we needed to complete our little family. She is very playful, fluffy and lovable and we love her so, so much. When one of us is having a bad day, she always make our day better just by her cute little face. I never thought I would love an animal this much! She’s my daughter and I would do anything for her. She is very smart. Every time my husband gets home she hears his car and she runs to the door. Every time we get home she loves jumping on us to play and to give us kisses, to show us how much she misses us. Her favorite toy is Scooby-Doo. She sleeps with and takes it everywhere she goes. She is too funny. Cookie was so excited to see my daughter last Saturday. She jumped on my daughter and she slipped from my daughter's hand and she fell on the ground and broke her leg and now she needs surgery. My poor baby girl is so upset. It's going to cost $5,600 which is very expensive. And we need help. My baby girl is too small to be going through this. At the moment we can’t afford it and my puppy needs to get surgery by next week and I am asking please if anyone can help I will really appreciate it. Anything helps. My puppy is just 4 months old. She deserves a good life. We miss her running around and playing with our kids.
Simba Gomes
Simba an eight-year-old Pomeranian in Danbury, CT, who needs $2,000 for leg surgery.
danbury, CT
Poor Simba is miserable and in pain. Just two days ago, he fell from the bed and broke the tibia bone in his leg. The sweet dog needs urgent surgery to fix it. Unfortunately, the operation is something Simba's human mom, Leticia G., is having trouble affording. Her brother needs surgery as well, and their family is overwhelmed with medical bills. "The news that surgery was needed came as a shock," Leticia tells Waggle. The surgical team at VCA Shoreline is ready to perform the procedure to help Simba. Leticia is anxious for her dog to get the operation, so he is no longer suffering. "He is the most incredible puppy there is. Simba was born in Brazil, and he spent the first few months of his life there. And on January 15th, I met him. Simba is my rock and my best friend, and I would do anything for him," Leticia says. Leticia hopes pet lovers in the Waggle community give to help Simba, paying it forward to their family when they could use a break. She says Simba is a spectacular dog with a big personality. "Simba is the kind of dog that lights up a room," Leticia adds. "I have never met someone who doesn't like him. Simba is friends with everyone. Simba is a bundle of joy and fun, always playful and always ready to make you smile." Please help Simba get back on his feet again!

Tippy
Tippy is a 1-year-old Lab Mix in Norwalk, CT, who needs $2,000 for Treatment for Parvo treatment.
Norwalk, CT • Pet Animal Welfare Society
Sweet and petite Tippy is a 10 week old lab/heeler mix who came to PAWS from Texas with his Mom and 3 siblings. They were taken in by a kind stranger after being picked up as strays. Tippy made the long journey from Texas to PAWS in Norwalk CT to find his forever home. He is a typical adorable puppy who needs a chance to lead a normal life with a loving family. Tippy is a calm and slightly shy puppy who enjoys play time, spending time with his siblings, and cuddle time with his friends. He couldn't be sweeter! He loves people and wiggles his whole body when happy. He loves to eat and has a little round belly to prove it! He will be someone's very loyal companion some day! PAWS is a no-kill animal shelter dedicated to the rescue and adoption of homeless and abused dogs and cats. Taking in the neediest animals comes with financial challenges. Tippy contracted parvovirus somewhere in his journey and being the smallest of the 4 puppies, he was least able to fight it off. He has required intensive treatment at a vet hospital and substantial supportive care. We are all rooting for little Tippy to make a full recovery and go on to be loved by a forever family. Tippy is a normal puppy - moving his whole hind area when wagging his tail. He is so happy to be with people. He is a love! He is very affectionate and loving, as are most puppies. He gives many puppy kisses and loves to sit on your lap. He can be silly and play with toys. He makes us all smile!

Princeton
Princeton is a 8-year-old Terrier Mix in Stratford, CT, CT, who needs $2,000 for Laceration Repair.
Stratford, CT, CT
Princeton William jumped in my arms the moment he was turned loose in the dog pound. He rested his head on my chest. That was when I knew that he was going to be My Boy. Princeton was a homeless dog that was found wandering on the streets. Once I had signed the papers to adopt him, I knew that I was going to give him the best life ever. He looked like a Prince, so I had named him Princeton. Princeton is the biggest cuddle bug. He puts the "lap" in lap-dog. He is friendly with every person that walks through my door, and anyone while we are taking one of our walks. He constantly seeks attention, love, and cuddles from my friends and family. When you've stopped petting him, he snuggles his nose under your hand - demanding for more! The owner of the pit bull cannot afford the damages. I have paid $5,000.00 towards the bill, but it is not enough to keep the treatment going. He deserves to live, and I will do anything to make that happen. He is loved and truly missed. Please help me bring My Boy home. On July 28th, a vicious dog was roaming my street. Princeton was brutally attacked by a pit bull. His injuries are extensive and expensive. His lower back down to his tail was shredded, leaving a hanging flap of skin. The VCA of Shelton CT has been keeping him stable while all parties involved tries to find a financial solution. The injuries are severe, and may cost his life. Princeton's personality is laid back and calming. The funniest thing about him, is when you talk to him, he squints his eyes at you! He enjoys being picked up and held like a baby. He get's excited when you offer him "yum yums." What I love about Princeton is his soft cuddles and gentle demeanor. You can easily cuddle up with him and watch movies, and he'd stay there for hours.

Luz
Luz is a 5-month-old Chihuahua in Norwalk, CT, who needs $5,000 for groin surgery, for vascular, pre subxiphoid hernia repair and spay.
Norwalk, CT • Pet Animal Welfare Society
Luz is a 5-month-old Chihuahua mix that came to PAWS at 8 weeks of age with her mother from a local animal control. Mom was quickly adopted, but Luz was left behind. This is usually the opposite of what happens. We think Luz had to wait longer, because of her medical issues. She was like any other puppy. Ready to play, explore, and find a family to love. Luz is currently in a foster home and is completely doted upon by her Mom. She shares a home with canine siblings and loves to play and cuddle with everyone. She is like any other puppy who likes to learn new things, investigate her surroundings, and make new friends. Luz is loved and ready to be a permanent part of her family. She just needs some medical care. We have a pressing need because we are a non-profit animal rescue. We can only help animals with special needs with the support of our community. Luz is a special girl. It was important for us to help her, but having her surgery done by a specialist is costly. Luz has a congenital defect in her left front foot and is missing two of her toes. She gets around quite well and runs and plays like any other puppy. She also has a pre xiphoid, vascular hernia. Because of the somewhat unusual makeup and placement of the hernia, she has already received a surgical consult. She is going to be returning to get the hernia removed by as specialist and have her spay. Luz got her name because she has a special light. Despite her physical challenges, she doesn't let anything slow her down. She moves around quickly and is eager to know about everything and everybody. She is quick, smart, and ready to learn. She is special because she has a love for life that shines through her.

Zak is quickly learning "fetch" and loves playing tug with anyone that will oblige. He just experienced his first snow and it was almost impossible to keep him from wanting to go outside and chase snow flakes and search for his toys in the snow. We just started formal training and he is so smart and such a quick learner. Even our 2 year old cat is starting to warm up to Zak.

Hazel
Hazel is loving 11-year-old pit bull mix in Stamford, CT, who needs $2,000 for surgery and chemotherapy to treat her cancer.
CT • Project Precious Rescue, Inc.
Hazel found herself at a local shelter at 11 years old after her owners decided they could no longer care for her. She was hours from being euthanized because of her medical issues (unknown at that time as the shelter only does minimal diagnostics) when PPR stepped in and saved her. Once she arrived at our primary care vet, she underwent testing of her masses along with chest x-rays and an abdominal ultrasound. The diagnosis was mast cell cancer - and it had invaded into one of Hazel's lymph nodes.

Chunk
Chunk is Pomeranian in Bridgeport, CT who needs $1,337 for Mycotoxin treatment..
CT
Chunky is a loving member of our family. He loves running with his brothers and giving kisses. He is always bursting with energy and is a curious little pup. He’s a part of my family and would be devastated if he was no longer with us. He makes us smile and always knows when we need love. We return that love. Our family wouldn’t be whole without him. He’s young and otherwise healthy so I don’t really know what I would do if I were to lose him to something treatable because we were unable to afford the treatment.

Luna
Luna is 4-year-old, mixed-breed rescue in Shelton, CT, who needs $1,312 for surgery for a vaginal prolapse and spay.
CT
This sweet bundle of energy was brought to us by a good samaritan who found her in the streets and was worried about injuries to her back end. She has been nothing but friendly and happy to have attention from our team. Luna is very in touch with us as she watches and waits for signals and cues for what is to happen next. There is a special level of loyalty in Luna's eyes and behavior that makes for such an amazing bond. The comfort she provides as a companion is second to none. We want to save this special, innocent being who was the victim of unfortunate circumstances.

Bear
Bear is 5-month-old leonberger puppy in Connecticut, who needs $2,000 for intestinal surgery.
CT • Project Precious Rescue, Inc.
Bear came to us from Texas, and we were told by the veterinarian who was caring for him that he was a very healthy 5 month old puppy with no medical issues. Unfortunately, as soon as he arrived, we realized that this could not have been further from the truth. When Bear arrived, we realized via his medical records that he had lost almost 20 lbs in one month - another piece of information that was withheld from us. Bear was having constant vomiting and diarrhea, and we hospitalized him a few days after his initial arrival. Within 24 hours, we got the news that Bear had a life-threatening condition called intusussception, and he needed to go to emergency surgery if there was any hope of saving him. This was completely unexpected, as we were told that Bear was healthy -- and here we are a few days after his arrival looking at a $6,000 minimum bill for surgery and post-op ICU care.

Saphira
Saphira is 1-year-old pit bull mix in Connecticut, who needs $2,000 for an emergency C-section, as she had been in labor for two days.
CT • Project Precious Rescue, Inc.
Saphira came to us with an emergent need for c-section, as she had been in labor for two days and her owners were unable to afford care. Despite it being almost midnight, we immediately stepped in, and Saphira had her emergency surgery the very same night. One puppy was stillborn, and the other was born with both hard and soft cleft palate, as well as cleft lip on both sides. We named this puppy Raphael, and because he is unable to nurse from mom, has needed to be separated from her to be tube fed by a very experienced foster. Saphira is on antibiotics for a bacterial infection, and is still recovering from her emergency surgery.

Mega
Mega is 7-year-old pit bull in Oakville, CT, who needs $2,000 for surgery to remove an obstruction in his GI tract and additional treatment for aspiration pneumonia.
CT
How do you sum up what your best friend means to you? I knew when I first laid eyes on Mega (and his sister) that they belonged with me. I've had dogs my whole life which can be hard. You fall in love knowing that they are going to die before you. But it is worth it, the love that you get is returned a thousand-fold. From the very beginning, Mega was special. His temperament was unlike any other dog I had encountered. He was born with THOSE eyes and had the biggest heart I have ever seen. I got a call once from my neighbor to "Come get my dog before he gets killed by my cat!!!. I drove over to the farm next to us and saw Mega pinned in the corner by a giant cat who was attacking him while he kept his head down and just took it. He needed 12 stitches (his lip had been ripped wide open) but defending himself wasn't an option for him. He doesn't have the gene. Mega would be an incredible ambassador for the breed. Gentle, patient and one of those dogs that walks right past toys to lean against someone and get his ears scratched. I found out at 7 months old that he had an enlarged heart and I have always said it was because of how much he loved everyone. Not long ago, I had to return to Connecticut to help my mother care for my father who had been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. I was able to bring my 3 dogs with me and we began the near impossible hunt of finding a place to rent with 3 bullies. Options are VERY limited in CT--landlords and insurance companies are not bully-friendly here. Parting with them was NEVER an option; my dogs are my family. Period I found a place above my price range but took on a second job to make ends meet. Then the dogs started to get sick and the vet bills dipped into $7k in the last year and a half. I'm a construction worker--very seasonal, so that was a hard hit. I spent my reserves (without a second thought) and worked side jobs where I could find them. It's been lean for a while but when you adopt dogs, you are committing to take care of them for life. Here I am again now and I am crushed. The night I took Mega to the hospital, I knew it was going to be expensive and I sold a classic car that I had been restoring to sell so I could find a place to move with more land for them. Then, things got worse and Mega needs immediate surgery. I am without any options right now, unless I sell my work truck, which I NEED to keep any revenue going for us. I have such a small window of time and I don't know what to do. It KILLS me to need help but my pride means nothing compared to the life of Mega.

Mia
Mia is 2-year-old pit bull in Canton, CT, who needs $2,000 for intensive care and monitoring after serious blood loss and shock, following a C-section.
CT
Hi everyone! So our 2 year old Mia went into labor on Monday September 9th, she had 6 puppies inside of her but only two survivors. She was sent to an emergency clinic to get a C-section. After that procedure they noticed she was internally bleeding which caused for another surgery. She has been under a lot of stress for the last 3 days, not being able to be with her babies and is in a lot of pain. She is fighting hard. She has lost a lot of blood and may need a third surgery today. We truly appreciate any donations, we receive, to help Mia and her babies. Thank you so much.

Agent Gibbs
Agent Gibbs is 3-year-old cat in Shelton, CT, who needs $1,771 for treatment to a tail wound.
CT
I met Gibbs through a rescue, I would go there to receive emotional therapy as I was going through a very hard time in my life mentally and physically. When I saw Gibbs, I fell in love! My son had always wanted a cat, I would tell him when the time is right. Well it just so happened everything was starting to fall into place for us and the rescue group, gave us Gibbs as a Christmas gift. Gibbs was the perfect Christmas gift we could ever ask for. As we got to know him we realized he is special. Gibbs affection goes beyond the normal cat, he always wants me to carry him over my shoulder like a baby or on my lap. If he is not on me than he is beside me, following me to every room, waiting for me to sit down so he could jump on my lap. The amount of love this cat gives has helped me to become happy again and slowly come off of my PTSD medication. Another rare thing about Gibbs is that he doesn't care for bacon, tuna or any meat, but if you eat a donut around him best believe he will be right in front of your face begging you for a piece. After having him for 2 years I never thought that I can get so attached to a cat I have always been a dog person but Gibbs has won our hearts. I'm here today because I need help, i don't have the money to pay for all the Veterinary expenses. I'm a disabled veteran whose currently working with the VA to retrain me in a new area to where my disability will not be a nuisance. When I can, I take in theraputic children. This time an incident occurred with a foster child that led to our cat becoming injured. I was not prepared for this, so today I am here asking for help.

Snoop
Snoop is 1-year-old pit bull in Waterbury, CT, who needs $2,000 for treatment of urethral prolapse and brachycephalic airway syndrome.
CT
We bought Snoop as a puppy and instantly fell in love with him. He's such a loving, friendly dog who catches everyone's attention. He loves playing with other dogs and children. We're seeking assistance because we love Snoop deeply and consider him family. Unfortunately, we are unable to afford the total cost of his procedure.

Kousa
Kousa is 7-year-old, black brindle coonhound in Milton, MA, who needs $900 for surgery to repair multiple bite wounds after being attacked by another dog.
MA
I found Kousa's rescue angel Cindy Disney- Boykin who rescues animals on her own in NC and I saw this beautiful 1.5 yr old black brindle Plott Hound female named Peggy Sue. I know I didn't want another Ridgeback to sully Nagees memory, but this dog had such a soulful look that immediately called to me. So I called her rescuer immediately. She wasn't sure she could get her as she was in the 25th hour at a high kill shelter that gasses dogs in trash cans. So she called the shelter with a promise from me that I would take her if she could get her in time. And this elderly woman drove to South Carolina and screamed and yelled and finally got a hold of this dog after being told they already had euthanized her even though she had called and put a hold on her. She found her crammed into a 2x2 concrete cell too small for her to stand up and turn around in. She was very sick with an upper respiratory infection and severe wounds on the ends of both ears and completely emaciated. Cindy kept her for a couple of weeks trying to clear up her infection as best she could and when it was safe for her to ship her from North Carolina to Connecticut she did. When she arrived at the end of December she only weighed about 33lbs and was still very sick and the sores were bad enough I thought she would lose the ends of her ears and she was covered in fleas. But she had the most soulful look I've ever seen. I renamed her Kousa which is from the the state flower Kousa dogwood, of North Carolina, and the Plott Hound is the state dog... hence the name! Over the next several weeks her upper respiratory infection cleared up as did the sores on her beautiful long velvety ears and she slowly gained weight. Later that year I got a new equine job and she became my new co-pilot! She loved and couldn't wait for her daily car rides, visiting and greeting every customer and farm including Chickens cats dogs horses with enthusiasm. We stayed together at hotels even when they didn't allow dogs I'd carry her in wrapped in my jacket looking like a baby (albeit a very large 4 legged one) she was the best road warrior with the patience of a saint! She made friends from Vermont to Pennsylvania! I soon realized she had more than a special gift she had this unique ability to know when someone was really sad. She would seek them out and walk up to them, and they inevitably squat down she'd place her paws on their legs and then put her head on their neck and wrap it around them and literally hug them! Then she would lean back look them in the eye and gently lick their nose and eyes. In 2012 I ended up losing one of my Ridgeback boys to DM, (which is Degenerative myelopathy, a progressive insidious disease of the spinal cord (similar to ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease in people). Then I ended up having an accident in December that same year the day after X-mas and I was fired from my job in April. Shortly after I ended getting a divorce after 20 yrs and lost my house in Addition to my job and income. I tried everything to stave off surgery since I knew having it could possibly mean I may never ride horses or work again. In 2013 my last Ridgeback lost his battle to also DM, and with my divorce final and all my dogs having died one year after another, I was truly beside myself, along with not having a job or a home and not having independence or income, I was feeling unnecessary and that I was not needed any more and the only stable thing in my life was Kousa. I ended up moving from northwest CT to Fairfield county. I had no friends and moved in with my boyfriend and for the first time I truly felt love. I tried all modalities of therapies to see if they could help but in the end the only options left to me were spinal surgery. So in 2014 I had a level fusion including a bone graph cage titanium rods and screws. However 8mts later the fusion failed and the disks above the fusion were damaged. So in 2015 8mts later I had to have all the hardware they originally put in taken out, and fuse the next 2 levels above. I now have 2 titanium rods about 10" long and 8 screws holding my spine together. That surgery failed immediately with many complications. Over the next 14 mts I had to see over 17 doctors to try and find out what was causing the rashes and unexplained joint pains in every part of my body. From biopsies to skin patch tests endocrinologists, rheumotolotogists and Allergists, nerve tests, injections no one could help. Until finally my surgeon told me I was the 40% that failed and this was my life now and I'll never work again and I need to come to terms with this and this is how it will be. Since then I've tried to find meaning in my life by. Going back into painting and fostering a couple of dogs which ended up becoming mine because they were problem Dogs that couldn't be placed with an average family and have aggression issues. I've since registered my amazing dog Kousa and her buddy Rudi also a rescue Italian greyground as emotional support dogs. Both of whom seem to know when others are sad or upset and sit in they're Lap and Kousa comes over to give hugs or lays next to them on the couch if they come visit. Now that I Cannot work and I'm limited in sitting & standing for more than 30 mins. I'm home 24/7 and my dogs are the only company I have now as it's difficult for me to leave the house due to my disability. Most recently I've had to move to Massachusetts because my partner took in his 15yr old daughter who is metally sick and physical aggressive and has attacked me twice Leaving me with a black eye and bruises on my body, then wrote death threats against me. So with no other options or money and the lack of ability to earn a living I was forced to move for fear of my life. While trying to move the dogs and I have been under extreme stress, which set off a cascade of accidents which led to a very bad dog fight leaving my very sweet Plott Hound trying to get between two dogs to stop the fight and she got the worst of it. Leaving her with a gaping wound on her chest. That was the icing on the cake. Having no savings and relying on family to physically & financially burden all my costs, I was not in a position to pay for the emergency surgery needed to care for my therapy dog that I rely on for emotional support. She has been there for me through all my dogs passing, losing my jobs and the loss of 2 major relationships, 2 moves and 3 major surgeries. She's helped countless people bring smiles to their faces when they've needed hugs or when they're sad and she's taught many dogs lessons in manners on how to behave properly always getting in between aggressor and non dominate dogs stopping potential fights. She's is brave, smart and kind and I can only hope one day I will give her a home once again and a job that she can participate in that will bring her as much joy as she has me all these years. Thank you so much for reading this. None of your money will go to me, but will go directly to the wonderful people at the Vet Clinic to pay her bills.
