Firu
Firu is a 7 year old Chihuahua in Topeka , KS, who needs $2,500 for Hospitalization and Diagnosis.
Topeka, KS
My uncle found firu wondering the streets when he decided to take him home to us on Christmas of 2020. We chose he name firu because of how common it is in Mexico. I moved out with firu from my grandparents house and has been living with me Firu has gotten really sick recently and we have been trying to figure out what is wrong with him. We have him in k state veterinary health center and they can’t determine what is wrong with him without more test. He loves to cuddle and play. He always wants to be with his favorite person and likes to be hold like a baby. He loves everyone except my father in law and grandpa, He is very on edge with them. I was unemployed for 3 months last year causing a big financial burden in my life. I’ve been trying to catch up on my mortgage, credit card bills and car payments. Firu’s vet bills have come out of no where and don’t the emergency funds to help him as much as I want to.

Buster
Buster is a 6 year old Boston Terrier in Hastings, NE, who needs $2,000 for IVDD Surgery.
Hastings, NE
I received buster while was going through a lengthy, hard divorce. This dog, over the course of 7 years, has completely changed my life. I already had a Boston named Sushi. Him and her have become inseparable over the years. The two of them have a warm home with a Boston's backyard paradise. Neighbor dogs they can run the fences with and a little girl who loves her Buster and Sushi very much. I have been to multiple Veterinarians over the past few months determining what it is that Buster is suffering from. The Vets are very concerned it is IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) which has caused his right leg to become paralyzed. I have gone the less invasive approach and within my budget, but now this is serious. He is traveling three hours away to the Veterinary Health Center at K-STATE. Buster is an absolute class act of a dog. He loves hard but snores even harder. He's very energetic and playful with anyone, everyone and sometimes things unseen. Despite his front leg being paralyzed, he still wants to cut it up with the rest of us. Hard days of strict kenneling and no jumping can't keep this dog down. Buster has been my absolute saving grace. He pulled me out of a very, very low point in my life. I would do anything to keep this dog at his best. Between travel, vet costs, medications and now a major surgery. Expenses have become too much of a heavy burden to handle.

Oso
Oso is a 7 year old Mix-Breed in Fort Riley, KS, who needs $2,000 for Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD).
Fort Riley, KS
Oso was a gift for my birthday. We have been together roughly about 8years. He was a puppy when we first met. I remember when I first saw him right away he looked like a baby bear cub and so I decided from there on he will be called Oso which means bear in Spanish. He’s such a loving, playful dog he does have other dog siblings that he loves to tackle and play with. Always a boost of energy. On Sep 12,2025 Oso was showing signs of Intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) we had rushed in to the hospital to were we thought were broken limbs but he just became completely paralyzed as the doctor confirmed and would need an emergency surgery on his two behind legs. The Hospital that was able to take him in was KState Manhattan Emergency hospital. Oso is the kind of dog that anyone would love to have. He is so loving and loves cuddles. He loves to bring you his toys and runs away when you try to reach for it that’s his way of playing trying to catch me. Not only does he loves other animals he loves his human brothers that loves to run and give him belly rubs and just sit and have a little snack together. He has basically grown up with them. This was sadly an unexpected event and currently don’t have a job to pay for any of his expenses nor do I have anything saved for emergency. Anything would help to reach his goal to get his surgery and get back on his two hind legs up and running again. Thank you.

Zayda
Zayda is a 2 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in Lawrence, KS, who needs $2,000 for TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) Surgery.
Lawrence, KS
Hello! This is Zayda, our sweet 2-year-old Cavi. We also call her Potato or Tato, because her body looks very similar to a russet potato. Sometimes we call her Sammi because her eyes bulge like Samuel L Jackson when she is mad (as shown in the birthday hat photo). She became part of our family on September 3, 2023, and has been filling our lives with love and laughter ever since. Zayda was recently diagnosed with a Partial Cranial Cruciate Ligament Rupture in both hind legs, causing her significant discomfort and making it difficult for her to enjoy her usual daily activities. Her vet recommends TPLO surgery on each leg to relieve her discomfort and restore mobility. Without these surgeries, Zayda’s condition will worsen, affecting her long-term quality of life. Tato loves providing neck support to her dad, laying around with the minions, helping mom make the bed, stealing mom’s yoga foam Skechers sandals, and hanging out with her big sister Abby. Abby and Tato are very sibling-like: Abby is afraid of thunder; Tato wants to fight it. Abby is quiet and reserved, Tato is loud and gregarious. Tato’s surgeries are essential for her mobility and well-being, but the cost is more than we can handle without assistance. Your support would give Zayda the chance to live pain-free. If you can contribute or share this campaign, it would mean the world to us.

Boone
Boone is a 6 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Topeka, KS, who needs $2,000 for Heartworm Treatment.
Topeka, KS
My husband and I came across a post on Facebook that this family was getting rid of their dog because they no longer wanted him. My husband and I love animals and we reached out and decided to take him in. The family didn't even have the dog for a month and they got him from a shelter in Louisiana. I took him to the vets and found out that he has heart worms and not in good health right now. We were told that wee need to take him to Kansas State veterinary hospital so they can run tests and see if he can with stand treatment. And if so we can start him on the yreatment He has never had a family to love and care for him and from the way he acts ypu can tell that he has been abused in the past. My husband and I don't want to see him suffer anymore than he has and is My husband and I don't have 3-5 thousand dollars to give him the treatment that he needs to to have the life he deserves. He has suffered enough im his short life.

Rosey
Rosey is a 8 month old Ball python. in Lawrence, KS, who needs $300 for Diagnosis and Antibiotics.
Lawrence, KS
I’m excited to introduce Rosey! The newest addition to the Trippel household! As soon as I saw her I couldn’t say no. Unfortunately she was given to me due to her unknown health issues and the owners reluctance to find the resources to treat her. Who am I to turn away such a sweet face! I scrounged together an emergency enclosure, but costs are piling up. Acquired due to her illness, the only info I was given was that she wasn’t eating, but upon further inspection, it looks like a respiratory infection. We are ready for the 30 year commitment, but will need to travel out of town to an exotic vet and pay for the appointment and treatment. Our plan is to take her to the Veterinary Health Center at Kansas State University. In a house of boys fearful of slither noodles, Rosey was quick to captivate hearts. My little one immediately found her sweet name. Even my husband reluctantly admits her charm! Although she is a wee babe, once she settles in and is eventually handleable, she will help others see how all animals can be sweet and cute! If she can turn the hearts of those closest to me, just imagine what she can do! Rosey quite unexpectedly slithered into our lives. I’d like to have been able to financially prepare for this leap, but as a family of three with one source of income and no childcare, especially with vet/treatment bills, we will need to acquire some help. And here you are!

Shadow
Shadow is a 10 year old Bearded Collie in Fort Riley , KS, who needs $2,000 for Tumor Removal.
Fort Riley, KS
Back 2015 shadow escaped a puppy mill in Waco Texas. She was about year old.she started coming around where we lived looking for food and someone to help her and love and care for her. She didn't trust anybody. But at the time she like my other dog and would follow her every time I took her outside or follow me if I was outside. I started to fall in love with her and got her to start trusting me. July 2023 I notice a small bump next to her breast. I took her to a vet. The vet didn't even take her in a room to look at her. He looked at her in the waiting room then told me too just take her home and that she'll die within a year. Year came n went. She still here. Now the lump is bigger then a human head. Getting her the help she needs now. the cost can be anywhere from 2000 to 5000 or more. Shadow has a cat his name is rascal. When I took in shadow it was a 2 for 1 deal. They took care of each when they we're strays. She and her cat rascal get along very well with my grown kids, my grandkids and their pet. She became like a mother to my daughter bulldog for 4 year. Then I moved away to live with my son for year and she got along with his 3 pitbulls. Now I'm back at my daughter.. I'm on disability. when i lived with my son last year He put me so far in debt I couldn't get her the help she needed and I lost car. Bertha
Bertha is a 3 year old Cane Corso in Topeka , KS, who needs $2,000 for GI Surgery to Remove Blockage.
Topeka, KS
Bertha came into our life at a much physically smaller 8 weeks old. Even at that early age she was an opinionated spunky protector with an appetite bigger than the rest. She recently proved her exceptional skills at motherhood with a beautiful & rambunctious baker's dozen litter.. Having a special & unique connection with each member of our family, we're desperate for any help you can provide. Bertha needs an urgent surgery to alleviate the GI blockage that presently works to break up our family unit. I'm not presently able to support/fund the simple procedure that would remove the blockage from her digestive tract and along with it the threat to her life Bertha is an ever vigilant & dependable protector who upon initial screening loves fearlessly. She is of the opinion anything that squeaks naturally & rightfully belongs to her. When she isn't dissecting squeaker toys in the name of science she loves splashing in water & catching bubbles or any other curiously small flying object & doing her human mom's bidding Currently unemployed stemming from a narcolepsy diagnosis but make ends meet through freelance work while searching for something more dependable and gainful
Duke
Duke is a 3 year old Great Dane in Abilene, KS, who needs $2,000 for Pacemaker Implant.
Abilene, KS
After our English Mastiff, Sugar, died, I didn't want another dog. My heart was broke but my husband insisted that we needed another dog and had already spoken for Duke. He tricked me into going and seeing him and when I picked him up he snuggled right into my coat. He wouldn't let me go! Duke began having collapsing spells shortly after we had him neutered at 2 years old. It took Duke over a week to recover from the procedure because one testicle had not dropped. When his spells became more persistent we took him to K-State Veterinary Hospital and he was diagnosed with 2nd Degree AV Block, Atropine Responsive. We were told that he would need a pacemaker to keep him alive. Duke is one big goofy baby! He is always smiling. He hates water but loves to wade in rivers. He loves everyone. He is a big scaredy cat with a large bark! He will hide behind you and bark. He loves to ride in the car and side-by-side on the trails. He goes with us everywhere. He is a constant companion to my husband. He loves drive-thrus but not banks as they don't give him the good stuff. My husband is disabled and we live mainly on my income. The cost of a pacemaker/surgery for a large dog is about $10000 barring no complications. The thought of losing Duke at such a young age causes me to cry all of the time. He is my emotional support.

Malak
Malak is a 8 year old Labrador Retriever in Lincoln, NE, who needs $2,000 for Surgical Removal of Thymoma/Thymic Neoplasia.
Lincoln, NE
Malak was owned by a close friend, through the course of time, Malak came to stay at my house. Malak is the best boy, he loves treats, people, sticks, leaves that blow in the wind, treats, other dogs, treats. He loves life! He hasn't been himself because he is hungry, but it is uncomfortable to eat. He now gets chicken smoothies and is on steriods and pain medication to keep him comfortable. Took him to my primary vet, Dr. Labenz, after blood work and X-rays she had to inform me that he has a large mass and referred us to K-State Oncologist, Dr. Clark, who biopsied the mass, came back with mast cells and our best option is surgery, which means breaking his chest and cutting out the mass that is compressing his lungs He must stay a week at K-state post-operation. Malak loves to make people happy, he listens, knows off leash commands, welcomes humans and dogs into our house, he truly is the sweetest boy. When people come to our house, he brings them one of his toys, showing off his stuff! Even babies he loves to sniff and give kisses to! He LOVES water, he enjoys swimming when he can The approximate cost for this surgery is $6k-8k, I wish I could say I have that kind of change saved, but like most Americans you got a little extra which has been used up on his first to appointments. I have had some medical debt due to a life threatening issue.

Jupiter
Jupiter is a 8 year old American Shorthair in Kansas City, MO, who needs $2,000 for Endoscopy.
Kansas City, MO
I found Jupiter in a hole in my back yard a week or so after my friend had passed, she was about the size of my hand and we instantly bonded. We live in our own little apartment just the two of us. Jupiter is my favorite planet and her colors instantly made me realize her name. Jupiter developed an abscess on her forehead four months ago. I has been treated multiple times and will not go away. After countless vet visits we finally got an x-ray and the infection is now eating into her skull. I have been referred to a specialist at KState Veterinary Hospital and we will be needing an endoscopy/ biopsy and various tests to be ran in order to determine the cause. Jupiter is an exquisite mouser. She loves her nyman noodles toy almost as much as she loves her unicorn. Her absolute favorite though happens to be a $75 dollar sun hat that she managed to get her paws on and completely untraveled for her own personal enjoyment. She loves belly rubs, massages and long walks in the woods ( leashed of course!) We have already spent thousands of dollars in frequent office visits and x-rays. I have had to switch doctors and have taken weeks off of work caring for my beloved. I am tapped out on all resources and i just want my best friend to be healthy again.

CJ
CJ is a 4-month-old German Shepherd in Junction City , KS, who needs $2,000 for Surgical Repair of Fractured Femur.
Junction City, KS
My name is Chase Junior, but everybody calls me CJ. I'm about 4 months old, and a German Shepherd. I was born in Kansas and now I live with my dog dad and my human. I have a lot of energy, and I move very fast! My human loves me a lot,! I look a bit like my dog dad, which is why they named me after him. I'm going to learn stuff like my dog dad so I can help my humans and have fun! I like to play and wrestle with my dog dad and tug his tail, even if it sometimes gets on his nerves. My human is teaching me to go potty outside and to do stuff like sit and lay down. I mess up but I try. He's is an Iraq veteran, and still in the Reserves, so I snuggle with him and help him relax after a long day at his jobs. There's a little hooman who loves me too. He's fun to play with! At just about 4 months old, CJ likes to tug on his dog dad's tail, chew on anything and everything, and generally knows two speeds - full out, and fall over to sleep. He also has a thing where he likes to watch people wipe down the kitchen cabinets! No one is sure just why..... I had a bad day today. I accidentally fell down the basement stairs. It hurt a lot. I cried, and my human helped me and took me to the puppy doctor, who said my femur was fractured and I'm going to have to have an operation to fix it. My human is waiting for the puppy doctor to get a referral to a puppy surgeon to do the operation. For now I'm home with pills so it doesn't hurt so much. After a series of financial issues in the last year, some ongoing, along with injuring both of MY knees, my dogs are my greatest emotional support. Some people rescue dogs. My dogs rescue me daily. Please help me to get baby CJ back on his paws!

Sasha
Sasha is a 8-year-old German Shepherd in Tonganoxie, KS, who needs $2,000 for Surgery.
Tonganoxie, KS
Sasha is an 8-year old Plush Coat German Shepherd. She is a registered Service Dog that I take to nursing homes and homes that love dogs but can't have one. She loves people and has a gentle spirit. I got her as a puppy at 8 weeks and she has been my loyal companion ever since💯❣️ I live on a small hobby farm where Sasha interacts with two other dogs, a long hair miniature Dachshund and a cross breed Beagle/Bull Dog mix, and several cows. Sasha loves to herd the cows, chase and retrieve a ball. When my grandkids come over she licks their faces and wags her tail with enthusiasm! Sasha is special to me because I got her as a retirement present after 39 years and 8 months of civil service to our country. It was also not long after my bride of 26 years passed away with breast cancer. It was a time where I needed a loyal companion and she has been a blessing to me ever since! Sasha developed a tumor mass on the top of her head the size of a tennis ball. I had three evaluations and it is a slow growing MLO tumor. I took her to the Kansas State Veternarian Hospital for her final consultation and Doctor Martin Hamon feels he can successfully operate on Sasha to remove her tumor. The surgery will be complicated and she will get a titanium mesh over her skull. I am retired from civil service and on a fixed income now. I would greatly appreciate any assistance possible as this diagnosis and surgery is expected to be around $7,800.00 dollars

June
June is a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois in Saint John, KS, who needs $2,000 for Foot Reconstruction.
Saint John, KS
On a family walk to the town square, we came across what looked like a stray dog, she spotted us and came over to us. She was so sweet and friendly, but she was malnourished and limping. Someone had already called dispatch to pick her up, so we waited with her for the next half hour until she was picked up. Our family fell in love, and said we would take her if she wasn't claimed by her owners. When we got the call that we could pick her up from the pound, we went out and bought dog supplies, and got a pen all set up outside. But June has not even spent one night in it. She has her own fluffy pillow and snowman blanket that she love. June loves to play outside with our older girls, they run around our year and play fetch when her paw isnt hrting too bad. June is in constant pain, requiring pain medication. She also is unable to enjoy runs or chasing squirrels because she will be in pain afterwards and limp or squeal in pain while playing. We want her to be able to enjoy life again, now that she has a forever family Through vet appointments with Dr. Weber, trying to find June's owners, and make sure she was caught up on shots. We found out she has a chronic paw fracture, from approximately 2 months ago that has healed improperly and needs completely reset through surgery and the addition of pins and plates. We have been referred to Dr. Renberg, at the Kstate Veterinary Hospital for this intense surgery. June is so special to us. We rescued her about 2 weeks ago now, and she has worked her way into our hearts, quickly becoming a part of our family. She even won over our cat! Her sweet personality is so good with all our kiddos, and she has so much energy to play. She loves to go on walks and pick up our oldest from school. She is a social dog, and enjoys all the pets and attention from kids.
