Sonny

Sonny is a 2 year old American Staffordshire Terrier in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, who needs $3,800 for ACL Surgery.

Ponte Vedra Beach, FL

Sonny come to us when he was rescued from a person who was making him fight his sister and mother for food. He was severely malnourished. We thought he was three months old at the time but the vet guessed his age at 6 months and his growth was stunted due to the malnutrition. I intended to only keep him to get him healthy but he weaseled his way into my heart. Sonny tore his ACL. The vet said it was not a traumatic injury. He dis say if untreated he could tear the other one though. Sonny will be getting his surgery at Veterinary orthopedic and mobile center of St Augustine. Sonny is a goofy boy. He is the most affectionate love bug. He is best friends with my cats but doesn't really care for other dogs. He loves hunting lizards. Since he came to live with me he either laid behind me or in my lap so he still thinks he's a lap dog at 50lbs. He loves blankies and kisses. All Sonny wants is to be loved. I am on disability retirement from a work injury so my income is super limited. I will never let my dog suffer. I will use care credit to do the surgery a.s.a.p. but hope I can get some financial assistance.

Toquita

Toquita is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Deltona, FL, who needs $2,000 for Femoral Head Ostectomy.

Deltona, FL • Purrfectly Wonky Animal Rescue

We found this sweet pup at a yard sale — yes, someone was actually selling puppies there. We couldn’t walk away and leave them behind, so we brought this little one to safety. Toquita is a gentle, resilient pup who loves people and other animals despite all she’s been through. She’s sweet, social, and affectionate, leaning into every hug and wagging her tail for anyone who shows her kindness. Her loving spirit shines, making her truly special. Toquita needs urgent medical care. Her leg injury from getting stuck in a fence caused severe damage to her hip, and X-rays confirmed she needs an FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy). This surgery removes the damaged part of her hip joint so her body can form a comfortable “false joint.” Pain meds help for now, but only surgery will relieve her constant pain and let her live a happy, active, pain-free li Toquita’s surgery is more than we can cover alone, and the costs are pressing. Getting her the FHO she desperately needs would mean everything — seeing her finally walk, play, and live without pain would be the greatest gift. Your support helps give her the healthy, happy li 3/21/26 Update We’re so happy to share the final update on sweet Toquita — and it’s wonderful news. Toquita has successfully had her FHO surgery and is doing great! When Toquita first came into rescue, she was in constant pain from a severe hip injury caused by getting stuck in a fence. X-rays confirmed she needed a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) to remove the damaged part of her hip joint and allow her body to form a comfortable new joint so she could move without pain. Today, Toquita is healing beautifully. She is already becoming more comfortable, and with time, rest, and rehabilitation, she is expected to regain strength and mobility in her leg. Most importantly, the surgery has given her what she needed most — a real chance at a pain-free life. This transformation would not have been possible without the kindness of everyone who donated and shared her story. Your support helped cover the surgery and medical care that changed Toquita’s future. The little puppy who once suffered in silence is now safe, healing, and surrounded by love. Soon she will be able to walk, play, and enjoy life the way every puppy deserves. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for giving Toquita her second chance.

Toquita is a 4 month old Mix-Breed in Deltona, FL, who needs $2,000 for Femoral Head Ostectomy.

Deltona, FL • Purrfectly Wonky Animal Rescue

Toquita was brought into our rescue when we were doing our morning foster checks in. We were sitting at a red light and someone had a 50$ pups sign out for their garage sale. We stopped by, left w two puppies, and a deal to help alter the parents! So we didn’t have to pay that 50$ fee! Win win for everyone. Toquita got her leg stuck in a fence 2 weeks before we were able to rescue her. She is limping, and in serious pain. Her X-rays revealed she needs an FHO surgery basically, the vet removes the damaged part of her hip joint so her body can heal naturally with a “false joint.” It sounds intense, but dogs actually bounce back beautifully with time, love, and lots of cheese treats during recovery Toquita is a happy and sweet girl! She loves everyone she meets, and gives the most gentle kisses She deserves to have a life where she can run and play like a normal puppy. We can manage her pain with meds, but that’s just a temporary Band-Aid. She needs the surgery — ASAP — to live a pain-free, tail-wagging, zoomie-filled life.

Ginger

Ginger is a 6 year old Mix-Breed in saint augustine, FL, who needs $1,500 for TPLO Surgery for a Ruptured Right Rear CCL.

saint augustine, FL

Ginger is the world to me! I picked her out of a littler from a friends Catahoula Cur that had puppies with a Shar Pei/Mastiff. She is my best girl and she lives with me. Ginger is very well taken care of, I make her little homemade blueberry muffins which she loves. I have a medical plan on her with Banfield Pet Hospital for her routine veterinary needs. (Vax, teeth cleaning etc.) Ginger has been healthy and only 2 UTIs (bladder infection) and one nail which she broken and all have been paid for and resolved. She ruptured her CCL playing and after taking her to Banfield, taking X-Rays and a Radiologist review them, it was recommended to go to an Ortho Surgeon for assessment. We went Veterinary Orthopedic and Mobility Center in St. Augustine, FL to see Dr Jay Erne. Ginger is my baby and sleeps with me. She is so smart and she loves to talk back to me especially when she lets the loud stomping neighbor know she doesn't like it....I shush her and she grumbles and talks back...it's very funny.. She loves to play ball, frisbee, tug of war, going for rides in the car, and playing in the ocean. I brush her teeth, trim her nails and give her showers. I already spent my emergency funds on her with the 2 UTI bladder infections, sonogram and the cost of the radiologist and x-rays. I was not expecting this CCL rupture within 3 months of the 2 UTIs. I am saving for her surgery but am a bit short of the full amount.

Bobross

Bobross is a 4-year-old Pitbull in Flagler Beach, FL, who needs $2,000 for Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy.

Flagler Beach, FL

Bobross was adopted from The Animal Shelter in Brandon Florida by someone other than us at 3 months of age. They returned him 2 weeks later due to him being "to active and uncontrollable". Our neighbor adopted him next and planned to return him to the shelter for similar reasons. Instead, we took Bob in as one of the family. I have always been a fan of Bob Ross the painter, hence the name. Before Bob's knees were hurting he would love to go on his walks. Now he can only tolerate walking for a few minutes before he has to lay down. We do this every few hours. The pain medicine seems to take some of the pain away. It just isn't enough. Nowadays Bob's favorite activity is going for a drive. I roll the window down so he can catch all the good smells. He is happiest when riding with me. Everything Bob does makes me smile. His big brown eyes speak to me. I'm pretty sure I know what he's thinking. Bob used to shake uncontrollably when I would say the word "bath". He was afraid of getting in the tub. When I retired, we moved to a place with a walk in shower. I say bath and he goes right in, no hesitation. He also shakes when it thunders. In that case I hold him tight to calm him. Bob has been diagnosed with torn cranial cruciate ligaments (CCL's) in both knees. The vet recommends surgery which has a 85-90% success rate. Tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) is a surgical procedure to stabilize the stifle joint. Dr. Nicole Hardie is his vet. Surgery will be performed at the Veterinary Orthopaedic and Mobility Center (VOMC). The procedures costs four thousand dollars per knee. Rehab is six hundred and fifty dollars. I am retired and live on a fixed income. My girlfriend works at Publix. We have about two thousand dollars saved for this. It breaks my heart that we just can't afford this.

Void

Void is a 9-month-old German Shepherd in Jacksonville, FL, who needs $2,000 for TPO Surgery.

Jacksonville, FL

Void came to me via one of my sisters military coworkers. He was medically discharged and moving out of state and could not care for Void. She brought him down to Florida to me and I noticed how he was limping and how he was acting off. We raised money for a vet visit and found out he had hip dysplasia. I’ve had him for a few days. I have 2 rescue dogs and a rescue cat as well. He is incredibly sweet. He loves my old lady shepherd and is terrified of my little spaniel mix. He is a 70 lbs lap dog, loves naps and loves my cat. Has to be babied and loves kisses. Void is a talker, but absolutely loves cuddles and physical affection. We can nap together for hours. I love it. He’s lovey dovey and I feel like he would be a hippy if he was a person Looking to get him TPO surgery. We are looking at VOMC in Saint Augustine Fl and hoping to get him physical therapy and proper meds to ease the pain and recover. I just moved down to Florida with my Fiancé and 3 pets. I was not expecting a 4th. I am in the process of closing on a house and depleted my savings and I can’t touch credit. I can’t handle seeing him limp and hearing him cry all the time. I also can’t imagine euthanizing

Beary

Beary is a 2-year-old Mastiff/American Shepherd Mix in Daytona beach shores, FL, who needs $2,000 for TPLO.

Daytona beach shores, FL

We adopted beary when he was 8 weeks old and immediately fell in love with him. We were hoping to have a friend for our dachshund who was 7 at the time and he instantly had our heart. After having him starting to grow in our little apartment we worked tirelessly to find and afford a house with a backyard that he could run around and play in and that's all he wants to do. Our daucshund and beary bonded immediately. They are constantly playing together or laying next to each other. They're definitely our children where they lay with us on the couch. Beary is always with us to visit family as he is a "grand pup". He's always been a cuddler wanting to be with us all the time. Beary always wants to be outside and play. If beary wants to play he will grab the nearest toy and "speak" to you until you attempt to grab it; then you're locked in to catching the toy from him and playing. He also will come up on the couch if your sitting and put his nose so close to your face then lean against you like he's trying to hug you. After an accident in the backyard running into the fence to catch his ball. He started to cry and was limping so we took him to the vet for x-rays and they were leaning towards major hip surgery. We were referred to a pet rehab center in DeLand and we went for an exam, they explained not only does he have hip dysplasia but his pain is coming from his knees and WILL need surgery to walk without pain We both work full time to pay for living expenses. We started putting in overtime to get through these past few vet and rehab visits but the surgery is $4k and it's adding up. Our pets are our children and they're the best part of our lives. We just want our baby better.

Koda

Koda is a 3-year-old American Staffshire Terrier in Starke, FL, who needs $2,000 for surgical repair.

Starke, FL

Koda has been in our family since he was 8 weeks old. He was purchased from a local breeder. We wanted to start our blended family with a common love..our handsome lil man(at the time) won our hearts over and joined our family in April 2018. We live on a farm and Koda has grown up knowing many different animals and loving them all. Koda is not just a “pet” he’s our child! There’s not a trip he hasn’t been on, a buggy ride, beach and lake trips, he has been by our sides since the day we got him. He’s included in family photos and loves the kids. They/we are his people! We purchased Koda because we thought he needed a good home but we have learned out home needed him! We have three kids still at home, we work full time jobs, support our blended family with no outside help. The ortho vet quoted us 5745 for these procedures and we are at a loss. We work hard and hate to not be able to afford his treatment. We’ve tried loans & have spent 2k On Sat. we were at our son last baseball game and Koda couldn’t come. My brother in law ran over his hind legs and left him in our yard. This does not sit well with me at all! We immediately took Koda to the er vet where we ended up paying for CT scans and a brace. We received the call from the vet saying that they needed 8k more in order to treat him. He has a fractured femur, tibia & fibula. Our baby has many fur friends on our farm but his favorite is his pet cows! He loves the babies and loves the bigger ones as well. He’s a very active 3 year old boy and loves his brothers and sisters (the four legged ones and the two legged ones)! Koda has no enemies besides the deer that come in our yard. He loves to run them!
