Loki

Loki is a 4 month old Mix-Breed in New Orleans , LA, who needs $2,000 for Femur Surgery.

New Orleans, LA

I got him from the spca a month ago. I only had the dog for a month. He has been an amazing dog and I’m so in love with him. I just wish I can help with his pain right now. I went to Veterinary Specialist of greater New Orleans on January 7, 2025. Doc Lee came in and told me that I would have to pay over 4,000 to get Loki leg fixed. Anything can help me. Loki is an amazing dog. He’s very friendly and loving. He always wants to play around with you. He’s so full of life and joy. You will always smile when you’re around him. I’m on a fixed income right now. I can’t afford to get my dog his surgery. I’m afraid that they will have to put him down and he’s just so young. His whole life is ahead of him to celebrate and be happy. I would love if I can get some help with his 4,000 bill. I love him 😍

Dax

Dax is a 4-year-old Chiweenie in Gretna, LA, who needs $2,000 for Joint repair.

Gretna, LA

We adopted Dax on Thanksgiving weekend from a friend. He was only 8 weeks old and so tiny and sweet. My husband and daughter have been bugging me for another dog to keep our Weimaraner company. I finally gave in when I saw his sweet face. He and my other dog play together nearly all day. We now have to keep them apart while Dax is in a stint and they so badly want to play. It’s heartbreaking. Dax is a ladies man. He loves to cuddle with my daughter or myself. Every morning when I wake up, and when I get home from work, he crawls up my shoulder to give me hugs and kisses. He loves teddy bears and stealing tennis balls from his bestie. He loves to run, play, and cuddle. They are his favorite things but he can’t do any of that comfortably right now. When I adopted Dax, I knew my daughter would be attached, but, I’ve become more attached to him than anyone. He’s like my little baby. I love when he falls asleep on my shoulder while watching tv. He his super fast, you would thing he was a little critter running across your feet. His footsteps are very quiet and I love to hear them coming. We had Dax out on a leash to use the bathroom. It was dark, and my other dog came running and tripped on the leash, causing Dax to fly into the air. He landed on his leg and dislocated and fractured his carpal in his left leg. He will have to have surgery to repair the damage or amputation as it will not heal on its own. Dax’s surgery will cost anywhere from $3200-$3400. Unfortunately that is not something I have saved as we are still catching up after Covid. I would be truly grateful if we can get our baby fixed. He is so sand and uncomfortable and I can’t help him right now. It hurts.

Max

Max is a 6-year-old Domestic in New Orleans, LA, who needs $1,800 for Haven’t yet.

New Orleans, LA

I rescued Max about six years ago from a shelter in Florida. He is a loving cat, and very friendly with his friend princess. She is an 8 month old cat and they get along very well. I love Max like a child and I am so super upset that I can’t afford the vet costs. I lost my job 4 months ago and trying to stay positive. Max is super Sweet with people that come over and the other cat. He likes to eat a lot and doesn’t miss out one meal lol. Due to COVID, first my hours were cut and then I got laid off. Currently I am living off my 401K, which is the money I need to pay bills. But the money won’t last much longer either. I love him like my child, he needs help. Max really never had any problems whatsoever. First I thought he is just very tired. He is eating and he is drinking water. But when he walks around he seems to be very weak in his paws. His eyes are crusty right now too. He needs help really bad and I can’t afford the vet costs. I’m so heartbroken. As he is getting older, he is not playing a lot anymore. He calmed down and I’m pleased with it lol. He likes to cuddle with me a lot and does take care of the newest edition of the family, little princess.

Toffee

Toffee is a 1-year-old Australian Cattle Dog in Baton Rouge, LA, who needs $2,000 for Triple Pelvic Osteotomy.

Baton Rouge, LA

My story with Toffee began April 25, 2019 when her and her sister were abandoned and severely ill. Toffee was evaluated and diagnosed with intestinal parasites and fleas, infectious distemper virus, and a congenital defect of the brain or toxicity. As she grew older, she developed severe hip dysplasia. I have had Toffee for about a year and we currently reside in Louisiana. Toffee loves everyone, including strangers, and will make that known! She loves playing with other puppies at the dog park but has recently had trouble playing with others due to her severe hip dysplasia. She loves to give kisses and will jump on you with both arms to give you a hug. She is the biggest sweetheart that you will ever meet. I am currently a full time law student with a restriction on how much I can work due to the fact that I am full time. We have recently experienced several destructive hurricanes here and Toffee needing TPO surgery came at the worst time. Her health means the world to me. As a puppy, Toffee had a rough life. At only a few weeks old, she was a neurological puppy. She was unable to stand, weak in the rear legs and had whole body tremors. The cause of her neurological tremors were not known. She had intestinal parasites and fleas, infectious distemper virus, and a congenital defect of the brain or toxicity. As she grew older, she developed severe hip dysplasia. My puppy is special because she is my registered emotional support animal. Being away at college by yourself can be lonely and she is always there for me when I am homesick, sad, or feeling down. She can always sense my feelings and will lick my face or put her paw on me when she senses that I am sad. This is my favorite thing about her and I can't help but to smile when it occurs.

Gretna, LA

Bijou is a 12 year old poodle that I have had since she was 8 weeks old.I live alone and she has help me get through some tough times. I don't know if I would have made it without her. Her diagnosis of the tumor is heartbreaking and I am devastated. I choose the name Bijou because It means precious Gem In French. Bijou has two other sisters. Little Bit is 7, she is a rescue and Baby Dumpling is 12.and a rescue also. They love going to Lowes just to ride in the basket. They are very well behaved and want to kiss everyone that comes near. I don't have any hobbies due to income and they are my life.
