Molly is an absolute sweetheart who just loves affection. She used to greet me every single day when I got home from work. She adores my two boys staying close to them and playing with them often. She is a gentle and loving soul. Molly suddenly went down about a week ago. I took her to the vet immediately and ended up having to take her a second time to get sedated for better xrays. I was told that she has torn both of her ccls in her hind legs and that she also has arthritis. Im not in contact with an ortho surgeon out of winterville to get her taken care of. We have our first visit with this vet on the 24th. Molly is like the glue of this family. No matter what we have going on she is here and she is loving. My children are devastated that Molly is going to have to have surgery but they are so excited to have her back on her feet and back to her fun loving and playful self. Im a single mother of two boys with two dogs and a brand new mortgage payment. I recently put just about every penny I had down on a property and new home for our family. Molly will be fixed up but I am struggling and I could really use some assistance.

Stevie is a tortie that I fell in love with almost a year ago at the Athens Humane Society. She is almost 4 years old and she lives with me and my roommates (her aunts) in Athens. She got her name on the car ride home from the Humane Society. She meowed all the way home except for when Fleetwood Mac would play, so we decided Stevie was fitting for this girl. Stevie is a talkative tortie that will tell you when she is not happy with you. She runs to the door every time someone comes home and greets them with loud meows if they were gone too long. She sleeps at the foot of my bed every night on her special blanket right by the window to watch the birds, cars, and stray cats that live nearby. She loves laying on our chests and watching TV. Stevie is special because she listens, or pretends to listen, to people when they talk to her. She gives eye contact and even nods her head from time to time to really let you know she's following. She also loves a good laser chase around the house. About a month ago, Stevie got a bad UTI which was followed by lameness in her hind legs. She is currently on a steroid to rebuild muscle, but she is still not using those legs. She cannot use the litter box and eats very little. Her front legs work great, but her back legs drag on behind. I am currently a college student with very little work availability, so I cannot afford further treatment for Stevie. She may need surgery and the MRI to diagnose her is already unattainable for me to pay. If I cannot pay for treatment, I may have to put her down.

Coco is like no other!! She is a 7 year old American Staffordshire Terrier emotional support dog. She is registered through Advantage behavior Health systems. Her human is Michael. Michael is a young man who suffers with mental illness. He is able to live on his own and maintain a normal life because of Coco. He has come so far with the help and support she gives him. Coco and Michael have been together for last 6 1/2 years. She has been his emotional support ever since she was a puppy. Michael has some coping problems and whenever he is has a manic episode coco works her magic and not only helps him change his actions and calm down, but she also can sense his episodes before happening. She will get right beside him almost in his lap and force him to give her love. Michael is on disability and lives on a very tight budget. He receives assistance for rent and food. He is also on Medicaid. Unfortunately his Medicaid won't cover Coco's vet bills or any treatments. We took Coco to the vet 2 weeks ago because she was having some skin issues (that we were able to get taken care of). It wasn't untillthe very end of our visit to the vet that we learned coco had heartworms. We were devastated. Michael broke down and has been in a bad mind space ever since. He thinks she won't make it because we can't afford to pay for her treatment. Coco has saved Michaels life more times than either one of them realize. They are each other's smile! She is like no other!! She has her own personality that is like that if a teenage girl. She is a diva who wants to be the center of attention. When she gets mad or upset she lets you know it with her attitude...I laugh at her so much when she acts like she is ignoring me but she never ignores him.
