Cairo was once one of nine puppies. Today, he is the sole survivor of his litter. He is bravely fighting an ongoing battle with pneumonia. His entire young life has been spent moving between shelters, never truly knowing comfort. Now, thanks to Yucaipa Valley Animal Placement stepping in, Cairo is finally experiencing a sense of safety and hope. For the past two months, Cairo has been battling pneumonia with everything he has. Yucaipa Valley Animal Placement is committed to providing the critical care he needs, including antibiotics, radiographs, and blood work. Because he is still so young and growing, he also requires additional supplements, vitamins, and probiotics to help strengthen his small body and give him the best possible chance at recovery. Cairo’s condition means he may not live the full lifespan of a typical dog, but that does not stop him from embracing every joyful moment. When he feels well enough, he plays happily with the other puppies. A shorter life does not mean a less meaningful one. His veterinary team is doing everything in their power to clear his pneumonia and help him find the loving family he deserves. Cairo is a fighter. SABER
SABER is a 10 month old Belgian Shepherd Dog (Malinois) in Redlands, CA, who needs $2,000 for Orthopedic Surgery, Leg Break and Rod Placement.

I got my Pup at the Animal Shelter, he was on the Euthanize list for that week. There isn't much previous background on him prior to us rescuing him from the shelter. He is fully up to date on his vaccinations, we live in a house with a large backyard for him and take him to the dog park often and loves to play with my girlfriends Maltese dog and they are besties. Saber was hit by a large SUV after unknowingly to us breaking a wood slat in the fence. Which has since been repaired. We took him to the ER VET immediately and transferred him to a regular Vet We have paid as much as we can until now. Surgery is required. We are having this hardship as we just paid $7,000 for 2 surgeries to clear a Urinary Blockage for our family cat just 3 weeks ago. He is so sweet and gives the most mouth hugs and teeth chatters I have ever experienced. He is the Best Boy and just wants love. Despite his size he swears he's a big baby but definitely in the toddler stage and mischievous. Saber loves to chew on anything he can but has learned what he can and cannot destroy (lol) He has a pillow he likes to "nurse" but definitely prefers to play with other pups Saber is such an important piece to me. Much like myself this gentle giant was misunderstood and it Breaks my heart to know, they were going to simply discard him. He deserves to have a full healthy life especially since it's just starting. He's my best friend.

My family & I rescued Jake from owner neglect, He fell down a set of stairs, and broke his elbow.. we took him to the vet, they said that he needs surgery to screw the elbow back in the place. We are completely devastated, he’s such a beautiful young pup with his whole life ahead of him. The surgery cost for $ 3016.27. We have 1200.00 saved. Due to economy my work is very slow. Please help. TY! In our family, pets our family, my children and I are absolutely in love with Jake he’s loving energetic, and such a great dog with a great personality. Unfortunately, he had an accident that could change in the rest of his life. He loves to play, especially with the kids he barks and runs around in circles, chasing balls, and sticks and even though he’s small, he thinks he’s a Lion He makes us smile every day, and brings love to our hearts. Jake has a fractured dislocated elbow that needs to be screwed back into place. The doctors at Yucaipa animal hospital in CA. Vet gave us $1000 discount from 4016..27 to 3016.27. They said if he doesn’t have the surgery he won’t be able to walk and in 1-2 years after arthritis, he will need his leg amputated.. we are short 1716.27. Due to current economy my work is slow and I haven’t been able to pay all of our bills the $1200 is what we have in savings. We just want him to get better so that we can enjoy him and he can enjoy us as a family and hopefully live a long life.
