Emma was already dangerously close to losing her life once. This sweet senior girl and her bonded companion, Casey, were surrendered to the Nicholas County Animal Shelter in Summersville, West Virginia. Confused, vulnerable, and suddenly without a home, the pair faced the terrifying risk of euthanasia. Thankfully, Beagles R Us Rescue in Indiana stepped in before it was too late. Emma and Casey were rescued together, giving these devoted senior companions the second chance they desperately deserved. They were finally safe—but then came devastating news about Emma’s health. Veterinary testing revealed a large mass attached to Emma’s spleen. It had grown so large that it was putting pressure on her other organs. Emma needed major surgery, and her rescuers once again had to fight for her life. Emma successfully underwent surgery to remove the mass and her spleen and is now back with her foster family, eating, resting, and slowly regaining her strength. And after an agonizing wait, her rescue finally received the news everyone had been praying for: the growths were benign and no cancer cells were found. It was an enormous relief but Emma’s fight has left her Beagles R Us Rescue with a staggering veterinary bill that came in even higher than the original estimate. Emma survived the threat of euthanasia. She survived major surgery. Now, she needs your help. Her rescue refused to give up on her when she was at risk in the shelter. They refused to give up when a frightening mass threatened her health. They gave this senior girl the chance to heal, to feel comfortable again, and to spend her later years knowing what it means to be safe and loved. Every rescue has a story, but some stories are harder to hear than others. Teresa's Cat and Dog Rescue recently took in two young dogs, Boots and Lily, after they were abandoned. Their case is now part of an ongoing court investigation involving possible abuse and neglect, which means the information/photos/videos the rescue can share is limited at this time. What they are able to share is that these two innocent dogs desperately need help. Boots and Lily are only about one year old, and both arrived at the rescue underweight, covered in ticks, and for Lily, despite how skinny she is, pregnant. Instead of knowing love and security, they've experienced neglect. Now, they're finally safe. But their journey to recovery is just beginning. Boots, an intact male, needs a complete veterinary exam and neuter surgery. Lily's situation is even more urgent. She is fully pregnant, and just three days into her care, over $500 was spent on emergency veterinary care to ensure both Lily and her unborn puppies have a fighting chance. Teresa's Cat and Dog Rescue is a small rescue doing everything possible to save animals with nowhere else to turn. They didn't hesitate to take Boots and Lily in, even knowing the enormous financial burden ahead, because these dogs deserved a chance at life. Now they're asking for help. After further evaluation by the veterinary team, it was determined that Lily's puppies are no longer alive. She has been started on antibiotics and is scheduled for surgery on Monday morning to remove the deceased puppies and to be spayed. According to the veterinarian, this tragic outcome was likely caused by a combination of severe neglect and the fact that Lily became pregnant by her brother before they were rescued. At only about a year old, her body has already been through far more than any dog should have to endure. Right now, our focus is on saving Lily's life and giving her the opportunity to recover. She has already survived so much, and she deserves the chance to heal. Unfortunately, this emergency surgery and her continued veterinary care come at a significant cost, and Boots also still needs to be neutered and receive his vaccinations. Lily had her surgery today, and when we picked her up, we learned the total bill came to $513. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we received $300 in donations, but we still have $213 remaining to pay for her care. As if that weren't enough, Lily's brother has a veterinary appointment on the 9th for his wellness exam and vaccinations. His estimated bill is $189, and right now, we simply don't have the funds to cover it. These sweet siblings never should have been in this situation. They were abandoned and left for dead, and we stepped in to give them the chance they deserved. Their former owners are now facing charges, and we've been told restitution may be ordered, but we also know there's no guarantee we'll ever receive those funds. We need your help to continue caring for Lily and her brother and to prepare them for the loving forever homes they deserve. We recently celebrated our first year as a rescue, and while we've accomplished so much, we're still building the resources needed to handle unexpected medical expenses like these. Every donation and every share brings him closer to the healthy future he deserves. 7/17/26 Update: Boots and Lily had court today Today was supposed to be Boots and Lily's first day in court in their abandonment case, However (to noones surprise) the people who abandoned them NEVER showed up. we will still fight for them. while Lily is healing very well from her surgery, her brother Boots has his neuter appointment on July 30th 2026. we are struggling to meet all our vet bills right now and are coming up very short any help would be greatly appreciated 7/29/26 Update: boots needs help getting neutered Boots is due in for surgery tomorrow at 745am, to get neutered. we have 100.00 of the 175 needed for his surgery. we need help getting this bog boy neutered. 8/9/26 Update: Boots got neutered While we went ahead and got Boots neutered, we did not have all the funds for his surgery. we are struggling with the three abandoned dogs their vetting has cost us upwards of $3000.00 with only about 600.00 in donations. needless to say we need help, we can not save these babies without you and your help.

Scout is severely malnourished. Will you help this sweet girl?

Scout was found in Londonderry Twp at 11 pm, hunkered down outside all alone and petrified. She was taken to the emergency vet, but the finder was unable to keep her. Luckily, they had contacted Castaway Critters to care for her. When they walked into the emergency vet room, they were met with the saddest, most deserving big eyes. As soon as Scout saw them, it was as if she knew she was going to be ok. However, she has a long road of healing ahead. She is severely malnourished and underweight. She should weigh approximately 55 pounds but currently weighs about 27 and is very weak. She has fleas and ticks. She smells like the worst kind of stale urine. Her coat is dirty and very dull, and her nails are overgrown. She will need a slow refeed schedule and a boatload of diagnostics. They did not do that the first night because she was petrified of human touch as much as she wants to be accepting of it. If you can help Scout in any way, we would greatly appreciate it. Nikkie is an absolute social butterfly who has never met a dog he didn't immediately turn into a best friend! He is a true "passenger prince" on golf cart rides, loves a good road trip, masters agility courses like a total pro, and will do just about anything for a piece of Pup-Peroni. We all love him so much! Unfortunately, this sweet boy is facing a tough hurdle. Nikkie was diagnosed with a Grade 2 Medial Patellar Luxation (MPL), causing his kneecap to slip and leaving him in severe discomfort. To make matters more complex, during surgery, the vet discovered a torn CCL (cranial cruciate ligament) in that same right leg. To give him the pain-free life he deserves, he underwent a combined repair and TPLO surgery. He is back with his amazing foster dad now, and while he has a long road to recovery, his loving spirit hasn't wavered. Because this vital surgery required unexpected, extensive procedures, the extra cost has placed a massive financial strain on our rescue. We are committed to being there for Nikkie, but we also have a rescue full of other cats and dogs relying on us for medical care. A Torn ACL Won't Stop Hopper, Help Him Get Back on His Paws

Hopper orignally came to Beagles and Bentleys from Louisiana in 2023. He was quickly adopted, but was returned two years later when his family could no longer keep him. Since March 2025, Hopper has been back in a foster home, patiently waiting for the loving forever home he deserves. Recently, Hopper faced another challenge. On June 10, he underwent TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery after being diagnosed with a partially torn ACL. While the surgery went smoothly, his recovery journey is just beginning. He has a long road ahead filled with rest, rehabilitation, and ongoing care before he can fully heal and be ready for adoption again. If there’s one thing we know about Hopper, it’s that he’s resilient. Despite the setbacks he has faced, he continues to move forward with the help of his dedicated foster family and the support of Beagles and Bentleys. We are especially grateful to his foster for guiding him through every step of his recovery. As you can imagine, a major surgery like this comes with significant medical expenses. For the first two and a half weeks after his ACL surgery, Hopper was making great progress. Then, unexpectedly, he stopped putting weight on his surgical leg, leaving everyone concerned that something had gone wrong. His rescue quickly brought him back to the veterinarian for X rays. Thankfully, the images showed that his ACL implant is still securely in place, and his veterinary team did not find any signs of a nerve complication. The good news is that with additional rest, Hopper has started using his leg again. While this is encouraging, he is not out of the woods just yet. His knee tendon is still inflamed, so he has been placed back on very restricted activity to give his leg the time it needs to heal properly. Recovery from orthopedic surgery can have its ups and downs, but Hopper continues to make progress one day at a time. Thank you to everyone who has supported him throughout his journey. Your generosity is helping ensure he receives the follow-up care he needs as he continues working toward a full recovery. 8/13/26 Update: Hopper Update! Hopper is making progress! He had TPLO surgery a few months ago and is doing well, but still holding his leg up most of the time. From what we understand, as long as Hopper doesn't strain his tendon, this should not be permanent, but recovery will take a little longer than usual. His foster mom jokes that he still hops on one leg so that he can move faster - he can't wait to be back on all fours and run like his old self! On the socialization front, Hopper continues to make amazing progress - he's met strangers that he allowed to touch him and he even gave one appeasement kisses! Midnite is my 8-year-old female American Pit Bull and my service dog. She has been with me her entire life. I got her the day after she was born and nursed her into the sassy, huffing, little wiggle-butt she is today. She has grown up beside me and has become an important part of my daily life, stability, and support system. Midnite is not just my pet or my service dog — she is family to me. Midnite is my 8-year-old female American Pit Bull and my service dog. She developed a semi-firm mass near one of her mammary glands, so I took her to Simmons and Harlan Veterinary Clinic in Wichita Falls, Texas. The hospital aspirated the mass and submitted it to IDEXX for cytology. The cytology report came back as epithelial neoplasia. The report states that a mammary epithelial neoplasm is a to I got her the day after she was born and nursed her into the sassy, huffing, little wiggle-butt she is today. She has grown up beside me and has been there through some of the hardest parts of my life. my service dog & my family. Midnite has a big personality. She is loving, loyal, stubborn in a funny way, and very expressive. She huffs when she has an opinion, wiggles when she is happy. I cannot afford Midnite’s cancer-related surgery and pathology alone. I’ve already spent $225+ on rides just to get her diagnosed. Having her healthy again would mean my service dog, family, and daily support can stay by my side.

In 2020 I went to my mother’s house in Louisiana in a very broken state. I had just separated from my husband of 26 years and Stella was my mom’s dog. I stayed with my mom for eight months and whenever I came back to Indiana to regain my life& children I came with one box of clothes and my dog since then Stella has never left my side. She has a 2 mo old daughter named Luna. Stella had a very hard pregnancy she had surgery got mastitis we got it cured paid $1700 finally got her better and then now all of a sudden she’s got bloat. Her stomach has flipped upside down but hasn’t completely twisted off so it swells and goes down without surgery the vet recommends euthanizing. They prepped her to KILL HER AND I COULDN’T DO IT I ran out the back door.Princeton Veterinary She is the most timid dog,she dances,she taps her feet. She steals food she gets in the trash. She runs up the street just enough to where you can see her. She’ll let you catch up and then OFF she goes She so contrary. She will sit by your side when you’re sick. She will cover her eyes when she’s wanting attention. She loves to dance with me loves the car rides MOST her daughter needs her!! I make $15 an hour in a deli. I’m being garnished and I have the IRS after me because I didn’t file my taxes when I was going through my divorce and I just paid $1700 2 months ago to save Stella‘s life. She is a staple in our home. It will be devastating to go on without her

Ylva is a 7 month old Great Pyrenees mix. We found a guy that had her and her seven siblings in a pen that was about 8ftx8ft. The dogs were all covered in feces, fleas, and fighting each other. Unfortunately we couldn't take all of them at the time but we could take one. So we picked her out of the crowd and reported the neglect to animal control. We got her cleaned up and took her home. In the week that we have owned Ylva, we thought that she was timid and scared. She spent most of her time curled up/hiding. So we have been working on socializing her. A few days ago we saw that she had vomited. We took her to VCA of Bakersfield and they diagnosed her with Parvo. I wish I had a lot to share about her personality but we were just learning to trust each other. She is young and timid but she loves my other dogs and our livestock. In the week that she has been with us, she has started to approach us when called and smile when we pet her. We have Care Credit and plan to use it. However we can't afford the entire treatment for her. We are looking for a third of her treatment to be covered. I want to see her live and I want to see her flourish into the amazing dog I know she is deep down.

Bo is a 6 1/2 year-old. We live alone just him and I. I’m currently in college as well. I’m juggling between trying to pay for school and living while also working full time. Bo and I are in an apartment. He’s a fun, loving and energetic dog. We have a dog park at my apartment where he loves to get out and run around like a maniac. I don’t have much family around so it’s just him and I. Bo was straining and screeching trying to go to the bathroom. I rushed him to Oradell Animal Hospital which is the closest Vet ER near me. He has an enlarged prostate, and herniated gland in his rectum. He needs to get surgery and I can’t afford it right now on my own. Luckily he’s been fairly healthy up to this point but they are keeping him over night for two days which is really expensive. Bo is a fun, and loving dog. He is very hyper and he keeps me on my toes. It’s just him and I. Truthfully I adopted this dog when I was 17 because I hit rock bottom and he has completely changed my life. He keeps me going everyday. He’s a huge cuddler/couch potato. He will stand by me in the kitchen while I cook hoping scraps fly his way. He loves to chew his bone right in my ear before bed. I’m a 24 year old college student who lives alone and fully supports myself financially. I don’t have much family left. I’m currently in nursing school and I have a year left. My dog is the center of my life and without him I don’t know where I’d be.
