Abandoned, Burned, and Left to Suffer — Help Save Plushy

Plushy did not choose this life. She is one of the stray dogs from our TNVR pack — a quiet, gentle girl who would always come to greet us. A little shy, but always soft, always grateful for food, kindness, and the small moments of safety we could give her. This past winter was brutal, but Plushy survived because we fed and cared for the dogs in the area. We sterilized nearly all of them to help stop the endless cycle of suffering these street dogs face every day. But we could not protect her from everything. A few days ago, Plushy stopped coming around. She disappeared without a trace. When we finally saw her again, she could barely stand. The injury covering her side was horrifying. Plushy has suffered a severe chemical burn, and the veterinarian believes it was caused by acid or a similar substance intentionally poured onto her body. We may never know exactly who did this or why. What we do know is that Plushy is in terrible pain and fighting to survive. As we learned more, the heartbreak deepened. Plushy was not born a stray. She once had an owner — a man struggling with alcoholism who abandoned her back in December. After being dumped, she joined the stray pack, trying to survive however she could. Despite everything humans have done to her, Plushy remains gentle. We rushed her to the clinic immediately. She now needs urgent surgery, intensive wound care, medications, and constant monitoring to give her a chance at recovery. Her burns are extensive, painful, and life-threatening. And when she is stable enough to leave the hospital, we cannot send her back to the streets where she was abandoned and harmed. There are no foster homes available in the area, so Plushy will need to stay at the clinic’s pet hotel while she heals. Her recovery will be long, complicated, and expensive — but abandoning her is simply not an option. There is so much cruelty in this world that we cannot control. The neglect. The abuse. The suffering these dogs are forced to endure just to stay alive. But this moment — this chance to save Plushy — is something we can change together. Junyper is a 2 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi in Wilkinson, IN, who needs $8,000 for Addisons Disease Management.

Junyper Faye Yontz is our 2-year-old Merle Corgi who lives with our family, including her human and fur siblings. She is deeply loved and known around town for riding in the school pickup line with her head out the window making kids smile and wave. She is an indoor family dog who is always by our side and brings constant joy and comfort to our home. Junyper was diagnosed with Addison’s Disease after suffering tremors, lethargy, and weakness. After starting medication, she went into a life-threatening Addisonian crisis and had to be rushed to the ER for emergency treatment and overnight hospitalization. Her veterinarians are at Country Acres Animal Clinic. Junyper helped heal our family after the tragic loss of my soul dog while I was pregnant. She helped pull me out of postpartum depression and brought happiness back into our home. She is loving, goofy, gentle, and adored by everyone she meets. She comforts our family daily and has a way of making people smile wherever she goes. We have already spent thousands trying to diagnose and save Junyper during her Addisonian crisis. Nova came to me like a blessing. My boyfriend Jack and I were spending the summer with his family down in Florida, when we stopped at a pet store. We saw Nova, and it was love at first sight. We took her home with us to CT, and since then it has been great. This cat is my soulmate. She is my everything. I just want to give her the best life possible. Any little bit helps! This past weekend, our sweet girl got her head stuck in a paper bag, and hurt her front left leg. We immediately took her to the Central Vet Hospital in Guilford CT. From there, we took her to her primary vet (Clinton vet hospital) where we learned that she fractured her front left leg, and needs emergency surgery or else we will have to amputate. Nova is the most special cat I have ever met. Her love for her family is apparent every single day. She gets excited when she hears us come home, she jumps up on her hind legs and meows at the tops of her lungs to greet us. I will do anything and everything for this cat. But right now, I am a broke student about to start college and I need all of the help I can get. Having Nova back to herself would mean the world to me. Seeing her healthy again would heal my heart. Any pet owner understands how terrifying it is to see your baby go through something. The last thing I want is for her to lose her leg because of financial problems.

Under the 105 degree heat, this fragile pup wandered alone with his skin painfully crusted and irritated. Every step he took was a fight to keep going. By the time help arrived, Pista was exhausted and suffering. Thankfully, rescuers from the Stray Animal Foundation of India stepped in, bringing him to safety and rushing him to their veterinary team. He was finally getting the care he so desperately needed. After a full examination, a treatment plan was put in place, and Pista’s healing journey began. But recovery doesn’t happen overnight. Pista will need ongoing medical care, medication, and support as his body slowly heals from the pain he’s endured. Harper was a rescue from Georgia. She was surrendered by a college student because of her size. She was a year old when we got her, noone else wanted her. We brought her home that day. It's been 9 years now. She has major environmental allergies, her skin is broken out all over. She is itching like crazy to the point of bleeding. She also has a new lump on her nipplrle that we need to have checked out. Needs to have vaccines. Has chronic lyme disease. She is my ESA and my service dog. I am disabled and she is with me almost 100 percent if the time. We lay in bed and TV and cuddle. She lives her belly rubs. She is my everything and protects me. I was a medical assistant for 25 years. I became disabled 2 years ago and we are struggling financially. My husband works but he is also partially disabled so he can't work that much either. I receive long term disability through my work but with lawyer fees I dont get that

Thor arrived at Stray Animal Foundation of India in devastating condition. He had a mutilated leg, and it was clear he had been suffering for a long time. The injury was severe, painful, and required immediate medical attention. Despite everything he’s endured, Thor has remained gentle and cooperative, trusting the very people working to save him. The team quickly began treating his wound and ran diagnostics to understand the full extent of his condition. Bloodwork revealed severe anemia, making his situation even more critical. Thor’s body is weak, and before any major procedure can be safely performed, his bloodwork must improve. Right now, Thor is receiving supportive care, medications, and monitoring to help stabilize him and build his strength. These early steps are crucial because Thor will ultimately need amputation surgery to remove his severely damaged leg and finally live without constant pain. While amputation sounds daunting, dogs adapt incredibly well to life on three legs. For Thor, this surgery will mean relief, mobility, and the chance to enjoy a future free from suffering. Carson is a 8 year old Shih Tzu in Mount juliet, TN, who needs $2,500 for IMHA Supportive Medications and Labs.

Our sweet boy, Carson (or Bubbas, Bubby Wubby, Snarl Carl…whichever you prefer) has been loving us for 8 years. The day that he became apart of our family, he started with a literal hug. Stood on his back legs, and wrapped his front paws around my brothers neck. 8 years later, he is the most spoiled, entitled boy I’ve ever met. He currently lives at his two houses: my apartment, and my moms house. Carson was diagnosed with Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia at Southside Animal hospital. That day, he was given an emergency blood transfusion to combat the critically low blood counts. 4 days later, his counts dropped, and he was admitted to the ICU (Blue Pearl) receiving blood & supportive care. This has since required frequent labs (3-7 days apart) and medications to stop this anemia crisis. Carson loves to snuggle with his babies (specifically his duck and his chicken), loves cheese, sitting on the balcony, giving you the side eye while he judges you. Loudly. He snores loud enough that he wakes not only me up, but also himself. He greets you at every door by standing on his back legs and reaching for a hug. His two nights in the ICU felt like eternity. We missed those hugs so much! We have already spent around 10k on emergent care, and now supportive. He has to go for lab checks 1x a week, and needs multiple medications daily for now.
