Tiggy's Past Doesn't Define Her—Her Heart Does

Cleburne, TX • Foundation of Caring Animal Supporters

Tiggy is 7 years old, toothless, gentle, affectionate, and full of love. She has already been through more than any dog should have to endure, but somehow, she has remained happy, resilient, and grateful for every bit of love she receives. Tiggy came to us from a flea-infested home where she suffered from severe flea dermatitis. She was later attacked by a much larger dog, leaving her with serious damage to her jaw. As a result of her injuries and medical needs, Tiggy has had all of her teeth removed. But none of that has changed the dog she is. Tiggy loves snuggles and belly rubs and is happiest when she's curled up beside her people. She is a gentle companion who wants nothing more than to share her life with someone who will see past everything she's been through and recognize the loving dog underneath it all. Unfortunately, dogs like Tiggy can face additional challenges when it comes to finding their forever homes. Older dogs and dogs with medical histories are sometimes overlooked, even though they have just as much love to give—and often so much gratitude to share. As part of Waggle's DOGust contest celebrating dogs who are easy to love but can have a harder time finding homes, we're raising funds to help provide Tiggy with the additional veterinary care she needs. By supporting Tiggy's campaign and helping us compete in DOGust, you're also helping shine a light on the other older and harder-to-place dogs in our care. If we receive enough public votes to win a DOGust prize, those funds will be used toward the additional veterinary care these dogs need. Tiggy has already survived so much. Now, she deserves to be known for what she is today: a happy, loving girl who still has so much life and love to give. She may be overlooked by some, but Tiggy is more lovable than you can imagine. Please help us give Tiggy the care she needs while continuing to stand behind the older dogs who need us most. Thank you for helping these deserving dogs get the chance to be seen, loved, and cared for. ❤️

Apollo

Help Apollo Spend His Remaining Time Surrounded By Love

Eldridge, AL • Marlee’s Kisses Great Dane Rescue

At 10 years old, Apollo should be enjoying the comforts every senior dog deserves. Instead, he arrived at Marlee's Kisses Great Dane Rescue in desperate need of care. Apollo and a female companion were originally "rescued" by their former owner, but neither was fixed, and Apollo's heartworms went untreated. The pair were bred multiple times before eventually being surrendered when their owner said she no longer had time for them. When Apollo arrived, his condition was alarming. He struggled to walk, his breathing was labored, and he was clearly in pain. He was taken to the veterinarian immediately, where testing revealed the heartbreaking extent of his medical needs. Apollo has an enlarged heart with fluid around it and significant damage from years of untreated heartworm disease. His kidney values are elevated, and X-rays revealed pellets lodged near his spine as well as painful bulging discs. He now requires medication to manage his pain and support his heart, while his kidney function must be monitored closely because some of the medications he needs can place additional strain on his kidneys. Apollo's veterinarian estimates that he may have only around six months remaining, although everyone caring for him hopes he will be given much more time. At this stage, treatment isn't about curing everything that has happened to him. It's about comfort, dignity, and making every day he has is a good one. Apollo will remain with Marlee's Kisses Great Dane Rescue, where he can receive the medical care, monitoring, soft beds, good meals, and love he deserves for however long he chooses to keep fighting. Please consider donating toward Apollo's veterinary care and medications. We cannot change the years behind him, but with your help, we can make sure the time ahead of him is filled with kindness, comfort, and the knowledge that he is deeply loved.

Alamo

Help Alamo Heal After Life-Saving Surgery

Phoenix, AZ • Almost There Rescue

Sweet Alamo and his siblings came into Almost There Rescue’s care after a reservation-owned dog had puppies. Thanks to Adopt A Dog Rescue, which convinced the former family to let the puppies come to us while their adult dogs are being altered to help prevent future litters. Soon after arriving, it became clear that Alamo needed more than routine puppy care. He was diagnosed with Persistent Right Aortic Arch (PRAA), a congenital vascular abnormality that was compressing his esophagus and preventing food from passing normally into his stomach. Alamo struggled with severe regurgitation, dehydration, poor nutrition, and the dangerous risk of aspiration. Thankfully, there was hope! Alamo underwent specialized surgery on July 30 to correct the vascular ring, and his surgical team is encouraged by his prognosis. But his journey isn't over yet. Alamo still needs careful supportive care as his body heals. He is receiving medication to reduce stomach acid and esophageal irritation, daily anti-nausea medication, fluids as needed to keep him hydrated, gradual dietary management, and close monitoring for aspiration and nutritional concerns. He'll also need follow-up evaluations to make sure his recovery stays on track. We're asking for your help to give Alamo the chance his doctors believe he has. Specialized surgery and ongoing veterinary care come at a high cost, and every donation helps Almost There Rescue continue saying yes to puppies like him. Please consider donating toward Alamo's medical care and sharing his story. Together, we can help this little guy put surgery behind him and get back to the most important job of all: growing up.

Millie’s Second Chance: Healing Two Painful Knees

Union, MO • Franklin County Humane Society

Meet Millie, a beautiful 3 year old brindle Pit Bull mix in the care of Franklin County Humane Society. For more than a year, Millie has been on a journey filled with challenges, healing, and hope as she waits for the forever family she deserves. When Millie first arrived at the shelter, she was shy and unsure of her new surroundings. As the team got to know her, they discovered there was more behind her hesitation: Millie was living with severe pain in both of her knees. To give her the chance at a comfortable and active life, Millie underwent two major knee surgeries. She then spent months recovering in foster care, where she was given the time, patience, and support she needed to heal. Through it all, Millie has shown just how resilient she is. Today, she has blossomed into a happy, affectionate girl whose tail rarely seems to stop wagging. She loves being around people and gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats. She enjoys playing fetch, going for car rides, enthusiastically destroying her stuffed toys, and ending the day curled up on the couch with her favorite person. Franklin County Humane Society has been there for Millie throughout her medical journey, making sure she received the treatment and care she needed. Now, we’re asking for your help with the veterinary expenses associated with her care. Please consider donating to Millie’s Waggle fundraiser. Every contribution, no matter the amount, can help support the cost of the veterinary care that has given Millie the opportunity to move forward with a healthier, more comfortable life. Millie has already overcome so much. While she continues her journey toward finding a forever home, your donation can be another part of the second chance she has worked so hard for. Please donate today and help Franklin County Humane Society continue giving dogs like Millie the care and second chances they deserve.

Tank

Help Tank Get Back on His Feet

PA • Paws 4 A Cure

Tank should be running, playing, and enjoying life with the family who loves him. Instead, he is struggling to walk comfortably because he has torn cranial cruciate ligaments (CCLs) in both knees. ### Tank's problems began with a limp and difficulty using one of his back legs. When his condition continued to worsen, veterinary evaluations revealed that both of his knees were affected by CCL tears. Because Tank is young and weighs 70 pounds, these injuries have severely impacted his mobility and quality of life. His veterinarians have recommended TPLO surgery to stabilize his knees and help him regain comfortable, functional movement. Tank will need surgery on both knees. The estimated cost is approximately $5,000 per knee, with the first surgery needed for the completely torn ligament and the second planned about two months later. He will also need follow-up care and rehabilitation during his recovery. ### Tank isn't just a pet—he is his mom's companion and family. Watching such a young dog struggle to walk, play, and enjoy everyday activities has been heartbreaking. His mom has been doing everything she can to keep him comfortable while searching for a way to afford the surgeries he desperately needs. Now, she is asking for help raising $5,000 toward Tank's first surgery. Tank has so much life ahead of him. He just needs a chance to get moving again. Every donation brings Tank closer to the treatment he needs and the possibility of walking, running, and playing comfortably again. If you can't donate, sharing his fundraiser can make a tremendous difference. ### Paws 4 A Cure is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing financial assistance for urgent veterinary care to dogs and cats throughout the United States. They receive no government funding and rely entirely on compassionate supporters. Every tax-deductible gift helps provide essential veterinary care and gives families hope when they need it most. Please help Tank get back on his feet.

Blinky

Help Blinky Heal and Find His Way Back Home

MD • Paws 4 A Cure

Last week, Blinky escaped and was either hit by a car or injured by another animal. His family isn't sure exactly what happened, but they know the little dog they love came home badly hurt, with broken bones in his foot and leg. After being evaluated, Blinky's veterinarians determined that the damage to his left rear leg is so severe that amputation is necessary. His surgery is estimated to cost approximately $985, and he will also need to be neutered and receive additional care as he begins his recovery. ### Blinky came into his family's life after they learned that a friend's dog had puppies. The moment their children saw his pictures and videos, they fell in love with the adorable little ball of fur. Today, Blinky is so much more than a pet. He is their baby, their companion, and a beloved member of the family. The thought of Blinky losing his leg is heartbreaking, but his family knows that getting him out of pain and giving him the chance to heal is what matters most. They want nothing more than to see him healthy again, running and playing in the yard with the people who love him. Blinky has a difficult journey ahead, but losing a leg doesn't mean losing his ability to live a happy, active life. With the surgery and proper care, this little dog can have the chance to leave his pain behind and get back to being the playful companion his family adores. Every donation, no matter the size, brings Blinky closer to the care he desperately needs. If you're unable to donate, sharing his fundraiser can help his story reach someone who can. ### Paws 4 A Cure is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing financial assistance for urgent veterinary care to dogs and cats throughout the United States. We receive no government funding and rely entirely on the generosity of compassionate supporters. Please help Blinky get the surgery he needs and give this sweet little dog a chance to heal, run, and enjoy the life he deserves. 💜🐾
