Ollie bounced into our lives 8 years ago and hasn't stopped playing since! As the 4th member of our family, he took his rightful place as the master player, tummy rub acceptor and endless love giver. Unlike any dog we ever owned, Ollie is so smart! He picks up training and commands easily. He stares into your eyes as though he is having a full conversation with you and awaits your answers. Shockingly, Ollie lost vision suddenly this week and has been diagnosed with retinal detachment in both eyes. We will be traveling to Pasadena, CA for a surgery this week at the Eye Care for Animals office. There are only 2 surgeons in the country who offer this surgery. Ollie's drive to enjoy life is astounding. From rolling a ball your way, chasing birds outside, cuddling and 'pawing' for more love, to sitting and listening to my ukulele, waiting to be asked what he wants so he can'show us' and ensuring his is never far from giving a kiss- he has brought endless joy into our family. He is the definition of a Good Boy! We all experience difficult times and finances for emergency surgeries fall into those times. Between the cost of the surgery at $9,600, travel and after care, the financial need is high. But what we would not give to ensure those sweet brown eyes get to see the world again

Mercedes was born 10/07/2020 and we brought her home at 10 weeks old. She loves to sleep in her kennel on her blankets next to our couch (we do not close the kennel). She has grown up in a house of love. She has a big yard to play in, loves walks and lazing about everywhere She can. She is an indoor dog as she is part of our family and will curl up on or by anyone in the house. Mercedes loves her 3 human siblings and me (her momma) and my husband so much. She is the loviest big old baby around. She loves belly rubs, the water hose and laying on our feet. At over 100 lbs, she thinks she is a lap dog and will lay on anyone who let's her. She also adores her dog brother Larry and mother's him like her own pup. Mercedes has one of the best personalities! She is so sweet and just wants to be petted and loved on all the time and she let's you know it. She rolls onto her back for all the belly rubs! If you pretend to be asleep she will get onto your lap and force her head under your chin to cuddle. She has blue around her eyes and it looks like she has makeup on, she's so pretty! Mercedes has an infection of the uterus, which means she needs emergency surgery to remove it and treat the infection. Our veterinarian has taken care of every animal I've ever owned for 20 years now, they agreed to take a partial payment from me and suggested waggle to help me. I work full-time and am not great with asking for help. I do not have good credit, so I cannot qualify for carecredit. I do not want to lose my baby girl when there is treatment, I just cannot afford something so unexpected and expensive.

Jake

Jake is a 7-year-old Australian Cattle Dog Mix in Danville, IN, who needs $2,000 for Surgery to remove mast cell tumor/lymph node and spleen removal.

I adopted Jake from the Indianapolis Animal Care and Control shelter in February of 2018. In the shelter his name was Banff, but I renamed him Jake. I remember a TV show in which one of the characters had a dog named Jake, and I thought if I ever got a male dog I would name him Jake! I have no other pets in my home. My guess is is that Jake likes it that way! Jake is my buddy and is very special. Jake sleeps in the bed with me, and he does a good job of taking up the whole bed! When we go on walks we either walk around the neighborhood or go to a local park. He is very food-motivated (like every dog) and will give convincing arguments as to why I should give him some of whatever I'm eating! He likes to stand on his hind legs to get to whatever may be on the kitchen counters. Jake likes the kind of toys that can be chewed up. I have to make sure he doesn't eat the pieces! He is also quite vocal and will not hesitate to bark when he's not happy about something. Jake is not afraid of storms or fireworks and he seems to love snow. He is quite the cuddler and I personally think he is one of the cutest dogs around! We just love to be with each other. Jake was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor recently that the veterinary oncologist suspects may have spread to his spleen. I was told by the oncologist (Dr. Hillman) at IndyVet that the tumor and spleen would need to be removed. The original mast cell tumor is on the right side of his lip and may have spread to that lymph node as well. That will need to be removed. I live on disability and this has been a sudden, major expense. It would mean so much to have Jake declared "cancer-free". He is a happy, lively dog and I want him to live a long life in the best possible way. I've only had him for 4 years and I'm not ready to let him go yet

Finn

Finn is a 1-year-old Golden Retriever in East Longmeadow , MA, who needs $2,000 for Spinal Surgery.

Finn is almost 2 years old a few weeks ago he went from being an active dog to not being able to walk. Currently he is in the veterinary hospital after he had spinal surgery. We have already paid almost $12,000. He is looking at more surgery if he doesn’t start walking. He is our world. Please help him. He lives in a large household we’re he is our world. He also has a cat sister Rosie. Who loves him. Finn loves his toys, naps, ice cream and lots of love. Finn just makes the world a better place. His smile and love makes any day better. He is our everything. His favorite thing to do is play ball, be always with his family, car rides and bedtime snuggles. Our veterinarian is currently treating Finn for a tumor in his spin. He was apparently born with it. Finn just underwent spinal surgery to remove it, but they could not get it all out. Another surgery is possible. We have used our entire savings to help save Finn. This expense was very unexpected. We just move to a new house, we have twin daughters in college and we have used our savings to help Finn. We want to try to save him. He is our world.

Siggy is almost a 1 year old American bully (4/27/22). We own Siggys mother, father, grandmother, grandfather and sister and half brother. She is loved and adored by her 3 human boys 14,12,10 years old. Siggy was supposed to be a show dog until this horrible incident happened. Our youngest son sleeps with her every night, this is his baby as he likes to say. Siggy is a spunky, out going, loveable American bully. We thought we had lost her due to her being shot and us not being able to locate her body. 3 days after this situation she came home, walked out of the woods. Our youngest son spotted her and lost it with joy to see his dog was alive, shot but alive. He refused to leave her side when we took her to the vet Siggy has the most softest eyes, she gives probably the best snuggles. She not only pushes her whole body into your chest but she will rest her head on your heart. She is warm loving little girl who proves daily miracles do happen. After being shot and lost in the woods for 3 days. She needs her leg amputated to be able to live a normal, healthy life. Siggy left our yard on 4/1/23, our neighbor down the road shot her. We thought she had passed in the woods with the massive amount of blood that she left, we didn't find her while we searched. The maine state police came to help look for her the officer said to my husband and I that he would guess she is either about to bled out or she did bled out due to the amount of blood. We are on a very tight budget, my husband works 40 hrs a week and trys to get overtime. We spent all of our savings on her initial care of 481. She just recovered from Pneumonia and now needs her leg amputated

Before she came into our family, Skye lived a heartbreaking life. She was kept outside 100% of the time, used only for breeding, and never experienced what it meant to be part of a family. She wasn’t someone’s companion—she was simply a way to produce puppies. Years of neglect left both emotional and physical scars. When we met Skye, we knew she deserved better. As a teacher & a police officer, our family leads with a servant heart. We were prepared for the responsibility of giving Skye the retirement she deserves. What we didn’t know was just how extensive her medical needs would be. We have now learned she needs eye surgery & urinary tract surgery in addition to the ongoing treatment of her alopecia & severe allergies.(Marsh Tide Vet & Chs Animal Eye) For the first time in her life, Skye has a warm bed, a family who loves her unconditionally, and people who see her as more than a puppy mill. Despite it all, Skye is warm, loving, and is the cutest when she’s prancing and smiling excitedly. Somehow this sweet girl hasn’t been hardened & isn’t violent towards kids or adults. Just the opposite. We live on a teacher’s & a police officer’s salary, & while we gladly take on the day-to-day costs of caring for Skye, the additional unexpected surgeries & specialized veterinary expenses have created an unexpected financial hardship. Bonnie

Bonnie was a rescue. When we found her she was covered in ticks and needed immediate care and attention.. From that moment on, Bonnie was family. Bonnie lives at home with three other dogs but she is “MaMa” and everyone knows MaMa makes the rules. She is the pack leader or as we like to call her “Security.” But... as cautious as our girl is she is equally loving to those she is protecting. Bonnie is more than our pet. Wherever we go she goes and she makes sure of it. She loves when we holler to “load up” as she gallops to the truck on the way to another adventure with her humans. Bonnie loves being with her family but if you ask her where she would want to be it would be right next to her primary human, my boyfriend. He and joke and say Bonnie is his wife and Bonnie believes it! Our pets are our lives. I often joke that “we work for the dogs to live well.” We have never asked for help but when COVID impacted one of our incomes, we played catch-up since but we figure it out. Bonnie was attacked by another dog about a week before Christmas. She was severely injured from deep bite wounds damaging her front legs. She has been at My Pet Animal Hospital for about two weeks fighting to survive. With there care she has been able to keep her left limb and we are hopeful the right as well. She has several wound care procedures ahead of her but she remains in good spirits. Bonnie has always been “Extra” with a personality that leaves you laughing. She is one of those “take no crap” kinda of personalities but still calm in her presence. She knows what she wants and expresses it through snorts and gruffs or a side eye “your ridiculous” look she gives often. She is witty, underestimated and charismatic. If you ever seen Big Mama’s House, Bonnie is “Big Mama”.

Tay

Tay is a 1-year-old Pit Mix in Alexandria, VA, who needs $2,000 for Parvo Treatment.

Our rescue pulled Tay from the PG county shelter in VA where there is Breed Specific Legislation. Dogs deemed "pit bull type dogs" are considered illegal and are ineligible for adoption. They can only leave the shelter through a 503c rescue organization and fostered in a home outside of the county. Tay had only been in a foster home for a few days before becoming sick. After a week in a foster home, he began throwing up and was admitted to the hospital. Tay was also exposed to Parvo at the shelter. He is now fighting for his life at the Metropolitan Animal Center. He is an affectionate, playful dog. He deserves a chance to show his true personality in a home of his own. Tay is a young dog with a playful spirit. His ears go up, down, sideways, together and sometimes do their own thing! He is incredibly expressive and communicates a lot through his ears. His tail never stops wagging and he loves to roll over for belly rubs. He did great meeting other dog and kept a relaxed, wagging body. Tay has endured an exploratory surgery bc his imaging (X-rays) suggested an obstruction. He tested positive from Parvo at that time. He has been fighting for his life in the Metropolitan Animal Center under 24 hour supportive care for several days. Tay has a feeding tube as he is not eating. They have attempted a fecal transplant and we are anxiously waiting to see if the treatment is working. Tay's obstruction surgery, 24/7 hospital care and fecal transplant has bankrupted our reserve funds. We are having to ask other vets for an extension to pay our other bills. We do not want to have to make a decision for Tay's life based on available funds. Please help us.

German Shepherd Dog who needs Mammary Mass Removal Surgery.

Zara is a 7-year-old German Shepherd with a heart as big as she is, and right now, she needs our help. Zara came to us through UNSEEN | UNHEARD | UNBROKEN Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Florida, when her owner reached out seeking help rehoming her. Before we could move forward with placement, we noticed something that couldn't be ignored, a large visible mass that required immediate attention. We made the decision that no dog leaves our care unexamined. We took Zara to Purrfect Paws & Claws Veterinary Hospital in Leesburg, Florida, where Dr. Anne Valdes confirmed what we feared, a large mammary mass, ulcerated and actively growing, requiring immediate surgical intervention. Dr. Valdes generously waived her examination fee for Zara's initial visit. UNSEEN | UNHEARD | UNBROKEN Inc. covered the cost of her medications using donated funds from our community. This case has already been a community effort, and we are grateful for every person who has stepped up so far. Her veterinarian has recommended mammary mass removal, a spay, chest X-rays, and lab analysis to determine the nature of the mass and whether it has spread. The total estimated cost is $2,696.00. Her family is facing significant financial hardship and is unable to cover the cost of her care. Without this surgery, Zara's condition will continue to worsen. She has already been examined.
