Jasper

Jasper is a 7-month-old DSH Kitten in Cleburne, TX, who needs $779 for Enucleation.

Cleburne, TX • Claws and Toe Beans

Our rescue had only been open a few months before we got a call that 18 kittens had been dumped at a rural property about 45 minutes away in Glen Rose. Sweet Jasper, his brothers and sisters, were among those poor little sick babies. It took a lot of work, but Jasper finally got healthy! But then, this happened. His eye ruptured and now we have to remove it.:( Jasper is the sweetest boy! He is best friends with his brother, Tanner, LOVES the other cats and dogs, and absolutely MUST be in your lap if you're in the room with him. He's super snuggly and happy despite being cruelly dumped as a helpless sick kitten. He deserves to be sweet and happy, not in pain! Jasper does not let you walk anywhere alone. He is always right there with you. On your feet, if he can manage it. If not, he'll get right in front of you and roll over so you can see his belly! He adores his brother Tanner, snuggles with his Great Pyrenees/Saint Bernard mix doggo, and is just a happy, sweet boy all around. Jasper was finally enjoying some good health and growing when we noticed a lot of discharge from his eye. We got him in to see his vet as soon as we could. Dr. Kocik at Northside here in Cleburne shared with us that his poor little eye had ruptured and is painful. It will need to be removed. He worked so hard to grow and get better. I hate that he's experiencing this.:( We picked Jasper up when he was a sick little boy and worked really hard to get him and his siblings healthy. We're a small rural area rescue with 3 additional kitties in need of expensive treatment. We just want Jasper to get better so he can find a forever home!

FRED

FRED is a 7-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Bristow, OK, who needs $1,800 for Cardiomyopathy Medication.

BRISTOW, OK • BRISTOW BARNYARD

Fred and his sister Louise were picked up by OKC animal control in December 2021 due to living in a hoarding house in neglectful situations. Their foster then picked them up from the shelter the following day. They are the best of friends and take great care of each other. They have their own room now to themselves at the foster's home! Fred's favorite activity is drinking water from a running faucet. He will come out wherever he is once he hears the sink faucet turn on. His favorite resting place is on a chair with a heated blanket, but he is also a huge fan of laying on the window sunbathing. Wherever his sister Louise is, there he is to. Fred is the big brother of Louise although they are not related. He is estimated 7 years old and she is estimated to be about 2 years old. They are the most bonded pair of cats we have seen and are constantly together cuddling or looking out the window together. They definitely need each other. Fred is the best big brother. Fred started having labored breathing on 02/07. He was taken to the regular vet who determined there was fluid in his lungs and he needed to be rushed to the ER. It took over 24 hours to stabilize him. They were able to perform an ECHO on his heart and determined he has cardiomyopathy. He is at a hospital for one more evening and will be on lifelong medication. The rescue is completely exhausted of funds. The foster offered to pay for his treatment upfront so that he is able to get his care asap and quite honestly, survive.

Walter

Walter is a 5-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Eustis, FL, who needs $1,500 for Panleukopenia Treatment.

Eustis, FL • Forever Feline Rescue Network

Walter came to us a rescue intake. We run a pet sitting service and a client whose a police officer found Walter while on patrol. He followed her to her car and actually climbed in to the engine and had to be safely removed from it! Walter came to us with a bad upper respiratory infection, underweight, and covered in fleas and parasites. Walter is our little ray of sunshine in the rescue. He loves to play with the other kittens and our dog boarders we get! Myself and my husband are very attached to Walter and love him dearly. We have 11 other cats in the home for foster and our own kitties. He thinks he is a dog and loves to run and play with the smaller dog boarders too. When Walter came in it was a sad time for our rescue have lost more than one of our rescue kitties the same week due to old age and neonatal failure to thrive. Walter has been our ray of sunshine because of his outgoing personality. He loves to talk to us, paw at our faces if we’re not paying enough attention to him while he’s in our laps, he will literally chase you till you pick him up and hug. Walter unfortunately tested positive for Panleukopenia 13 days ago despite being vaccinated he only received his first vaccine before contracting it. He is in need of blood transfusions, and diagnostic care so he can continue to fight this virus. We have done 2 already and hoping he will not need a 3rd. We are a low income family that had the crazy idea to open a rescue as I am a vet tech and have pets dropped at my door step daily so help however we can. We have been doing everything we can on donations but are still in the waiting process for our 501c3 filing.

Mathilda

Mathilda is a 3-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Thornhill, ON, who needs $2,000 for Surgery.

Thornhill • www.teamcatrescue.ca

Mathilda was dropped off at a kill shelter with her hind leg dragging. She seemed in great pain as her leg appeared to be broken and she had some other injuries. She also appeared to have a blockage in her inner ear. She was dropped of by a stranger who knew that she could be euthanized and the shelter didn't even believe in her to give her a name. She was listed as "No Name". We are a volunteer only rescue and when we saw Mathlida (listed at the kill shelter as No Name), we knew we had to save her. She first came to one of our temp foster homes as our clinic wasn't open until the next morning. Even in pain, she was sweet to every person and animal she met in the foster home. She's a little angel. She is just a kitten that obviously when through some major trauma that included breaking her growth plate in her hind leg. And yet she is the sweetest girl. So loving and friendly. She is also very patient and calm. She loves to purr and play even with current limited mobility. She is a lover AND a fighter. After being xrayed at our vet clinic, Bayview Park Animal Hospital, it was found that she had a broken growth plate. We were recommended to amputate as the other option of stabilization was far more expensive and not guaranteed to resolve the issue. We deal with a lot of tripod cats and they wonderfully. Mathilda came to us from a kill shelter where they didn't even bother to give her a name. As a volunteer rescue with no government or corporate support, we are constantly limited on funds. Since COVID, vet prices have increased greatly making this surgery even more expensive as it requires a specialist. We know we can help her and find her an amazing home.

Scrappy

Scrappy is a 8-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Chappell, NE, who needs $1,500 for Antiviral Treatment for FIP.

Chappell, NE • Nebraska Loves Cats

Eight Month Old Scrappy is in need of anti-viral treatment to save his life. We must raise 400 dollars per week to pay for his medicine, and his veterinary care at White Bluffs Vet Clinic, After several weeks of slowly progressing neurological symptoms that have impaired his vision, & ability to walk- we are fully committed to save him with treatment He was not able to stand up without falling down, and he appeared comatosed after sedation meds.phenobarbital), and pain meds. One thing that he has maintained - even during heavy sedation periods-is a healthy appetite, and normal stools We are elated to report that he took a turn for the better, yesterday afternoon, about three hours after his third anti- viral shot, Since beginning treatment, He is walking and jumping around playing, appears to have some eyesight restored and has very little suezure activity, improved balance, energy, alertness, healthy appetite, normal stools, less head tilting, and no more circling.. He has a very good chance to beat what we suspect is FIP. In order for his treatment to be effective, he cannot miss meds. He must have antiviral treatment for 2 months. We started with injections at our vet, and we would like to begin treating him with daily capsules that are 15 dollars each. Scrappy requires 2 ml of antiviral GS-441524 for injections, or 4 capsules. Capsules of the antuviral are 15 dollars each. Our vet charges an additional 25 dollars for each injectiin at the clinic. We cannot save Scrappy without your help. And we cannot miss one day of treatment for the next two months. We are now starting Week Two, He is doing hreat and it is now apparent the treament will save hom, if we can continue to afford it
