Twinkles

Twinkles is a 1-year-old Domestic Shorthair in Fayetteville, NC, who needs $1,216 for hospital support with fluids, antibiotics, and extensive testing.

Fayetteville, NC • Operation Healing Whiskers

Twinkles came to the rescue after he got hungry and walked into the trap that one of our volunteers had set. He was about three months old at the time, and needed quite a bit of socializing, but we were up to the task. Within a week he was snuggled up in his fosters arms, and it was no more than a month later that he was ready for his forever home. From feral to adoptable!!! Twinkles is such a sweet boy. He spends most of his time with his foster sister, Stardust. He lives in a home with an elderly woman and her mother, so he gets a LOT of lap time and pets, and he has come to enjoy his life there. Of course we want him to find a forever home, but in the meantime he’s so very loved, and even therapeutic!! We are a small 501c3 rescue that is just getting our feet under us, and it has been a rough couple of months. We’ve had a few cats that have needed extra attention and we just can’t turn our backs on them. We don’t know what is wrong with Twinkles. Our veterinarian has run tests and he has been hospitalized for two days, and he is just not getting better. He is scheduled to be hospitalized for at least four more days with more tests being run so we can find out what exactly is wrong. This is the hard part when they can’t tell you exactly what it is that is hurting them. Twinkles had to be taught to play with toys, but now he absolutely looooves his orange ball tower and will spend hours with Stardust playing with it and crinkle balls. He will even slip into his foster grandma’s lap when she’s having an off Alzheimer’s day and spend as much time as he can bring idly stroked. It has been therapeutic for them both!!

Emma

Emma is a 2-month-old Domestic Short hair in Orlando, FL, who needs $1,800 for Leg amputation .

Orlando, FL • Spay & Neuter Nation, Inc

Emma and her siblings were found in a trash bag by a dumpster at only three weeks old. Their finders reached out for help with them when they saw that poor Emma's back leg did not work. Luckily her leg is not causing pain, so we can wait until shes a little bit bigger to have her leg amputated. She has a long road ahead of her, but shes a very strong and loud girl! Emma is a very sweet little girl. She has settled in and not only found friends with her siblings, but with another little foster named Bean. Emma is also not afraid to yell at you to tell you how tough her life is if she is not in your lap all day! She is a total lap baby and will sit there all day if you'd let her. Emma also loves to run around and get into trouble with her siblings. I foster a lot of little neonate babies and special need babies. Getting help to pay for her medical needs would be so helpful so I can continue saving more babies. Due to covid funds have been very short. Sweet Emmas leg is non functioning. X-rays show that there is no break in her leg so we are not sure what happened to her. We were hoping to save the leg, but it still is just not working. Emma is under the care of Cornerstone Vet in Winter Springs, FL at the moment. They have been great with willing to work with such a tiny baby. Emma is such a sweet and smart baby! She is very vocal to let you know when you are not paying attention to you. She will follow you around hoping on three legs until you pick her up and pay attention to you. When she is left alone she is not a happy camper. She has made good friends with another foster baby who is the lone survivor from his litter.

Schmutzy

Schmutzy is a 1-year-old DSH in Springfield, MA, who needs $500 for Ear Mites and vaccinations.

Springfield, MA • Yael Hoffman

Schmutzy was a stray cat which was trapped after 3 months of being outdoors in our neighborhood and now he is being rehabilitated and need a Veterinarian check up, neutering and vaccinations. We are planning to eventually put him for adoption when he will be ready to adjust to a Forever home. He is coming along very good but still need a vet check up. Scmutzy gets along with people, dogs, and children. He will be a very good therapy cat for some family who has other pets and children. As a rescue we help pets find and keep their forever home but we can't do it without donations and Veterinary care. Right now with this Pandemic state, it is very challenging without our volunteers and donations have gone down too. Please help us help Schmutzy. At Nefesh Whispers. Org - we are a non profit organization rescue for cats and dogs to find homes and maintain homes for pets who their owners have challenges. Economic as well as health and disabilities. Schmutzy shows signs of some deficiency. His gums are very pale and he has ear mites that we are treating every day. It definitely needs a professional help with checking and treating before it gets too complicated. Our Regular Veterinarian - Westover Animal Clinic with Dr. Constant retired and sold his clinic to Dr Allan and we are hoping that they will continue to work with us. Schmutzy loves to cuddle and play with his favorite toy - he is like a ninja cat. He is so friendly with the other rescues cats, that I see a future of a therapy cat for animals as well as people. Right now he is helping our newer rescue cat adjust and come out of his shell of fear and anxiety. Getting him to the vet will help prolong his life and prevent health problems.

Help Mercedes Smile Again

Orange, CA • MeoowzResq

Help Mercedes Smile Again ❤️ Mercedes' story is one of resilience, hope, and a little bit of luck. This sweet orange kitten was found alone on the streets of Anaheim when she was just five months old. Despite everything she had already endured, Mercedes never stopped purring or greeting everyone with her adorable little tongue that always peeked out, making her impossible not to fall in love with. Shortly after entering our rescue, Mercedes was diagnosed with FIP, a disease that was once considered fatal. After 86 days of intensive treatment, she beat the odds and survived. Unfortunately, the disease left her immune system compromised, causing severe inflammation in her mouth and gums. We sought answers from three different veterinarians, hoping there might be another option. Each one came to the same heartbreaking conclusion: Mercedes would need a full dental extraction to end her constant pain. As if that wasn't enough, Mercedes was also born with a congenital eye condition. The inflammation from her mouth led to an infection in that same eye, requiring emergency veterinary care. We knew there were still more medical hurdles ahead. Before making such a life-changing decision, we wanted one final opinion. Then something amazing happened. At one of our adoption events, a kind woman named Lucky met Mercedes and agreed to foster her while she continued her medical journey. That same day, a veterinary technician from a dental specialty practice happened to stop by our event. She encouraged us to bring Mercedes to their office for another evaluation. Although the specialists agreed that a full-mouth extraction was the only way to relieve Mercedes' pain, they were touched by her story and generously offered our rescue a significant discount to make the surgery possible. On July 16, 2026, Mercedes received her full dental extraction. For the first time in months, she has the opportunity to live without constant pain and begin enjoying life the way every kitten deserves. The cost of her life-changing surgery was $1,200. Today, we're asking for your help. Every donation—large or small—helps us cover Mercedes' medical expenses so we can continue saying "yes" to cats like her who have nowhere else to turn. Mercedes fought to survive. Now we're asking our community to help her heal. If you're able, please consider making a donation toward Mercedes' care. Thank you for giving special cats like Mercedes a second chance at a happy, healthy life.

Blueberry Muffin Survived the Euthanasia List and Almost Died from an Obstruction

Hicksville, NY • Pioneers for Animal Welfare Society, Inc.

Blueberry Muffin was saved from the euthanasia list back in March by our rescue, PAWS (Pioneers for Animal Welfare Society) located in Long Island, NY. After everything he has already been through, we truly believed his future was finally looking bright. Now, just a few months later, Blueberry desperately needed us once again, and we could not let him down. Blueberry was recently hospitalized at an emergency veterinary hospital suffering from a serious blockage. His condition was painful, dangerous, and life-threatening, and he needed emergency surgery to remove the obstruction. We were able to put up some of the money to help with his surgery because we could not let him go without the care he needed. But that expense has added to the financial strain on our rescue, and we need your help to replenish those funds so we can continue saving other animals who need us. This sweet senior has already overcome so much. He survived being placed on the euthanasia list and was given a second chance through rescue. He deserves the opportunity to keep fighting and continue enjoying the life that was finally within reach. In a very short period of time, our rescue has stepped up to save so many vulnerable animals from the New York City's Animal Care Centers. Unfortunately, we have also been faced with one costly medical emergency after another, creating an enormous financial strain on our organization. No matter how difficult things become, we never want finances to be the reason a dog doesn't receive the care they need. That is why we are asking for help. If you can find it in your heart to make a donation to help us with the cost of Blueberry Muffin's emergency surgery, we would be forever grateful—and so would he. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward the lifesaving care he urgently needs. Please help us give Blueberry Muffin the chance to recover, heal, and continue the life he was so close to losing. Thank you for standing with Blueberry Muffin when he needs it most.

Talia

Talia is a 3 year old Siberian Husky in Bakersfield, CA, who needs $7,000 for TPLO Surgery for Hind Right Knee.

Bakersfield, CA

Talia was a rescue that in turn rescued me. Talia was abandoned in a field south of our town. She was left with no food or water. We brought her to our home when she was around 7 months old based on dental records. Talia became my Sobriety Dog. Talia now lives with my wife and I as well as our 7 year old husky Socrates. Talia was living her best life until the gruesome injury. I was taking both huskies to the groomers when Talia was able to pull her leash from my hands. Talia sprinted down the neighborhood and fully ruptured her CCL while on the uneven yards and street.. It is the same injury as a human ACL tear in the knee. The specialized vet is BRVSS of Bakersfield. The surgery procedure is TPLO with an estimated cost between $6000-$7000. W rescued Talia and in doing so She rescued me. Talia is able to sense when my anxiety is high and she will climb into my lap. By Talia doing this, it causes me to redirect my attention in a different direction without me even realizing it at the moment. Talia isn’t just a pet, she is a part of our family. Now that she needs my help, We are unable to afford the surgery she needs. I missed almost a month of work with bad discs in my back. The place they sent me to get physical therapy was not clean. I ended up contracting shingles there. That caused me to miss another month of work. This surgery is $6-7000. Talia is my life.

Photo of Theodore Jefferson (TJ)

Theodore Jefferson (TJ)

Theodore Jefferson (TJ) is a 4 year old Bohemian Shepherd in Fort Smith, AR, who needs $1,174 for Mass Removal, Dental Cleaning, and Biopsy.

Fort Smith, AR

Theodore (TJ) is a 4yo Czech Bohemian Shepherd imported at 2mo. He is my certified mobility & psychiatric service dog who can preempt panic attacks. He once survived a Utah rattlesnake bite to save my foster puppies. He currently lives in a peaceful Fort Smith, AR apartment with me, our Weimaraner rescue diplomat Indie, and our retired 7yo solo ranch herding dog Bailey. Theodore (TJ) needs a surgical mass removal, laboratory biopsy, full dental cleaning under anesthesia, blood panel, and heartworm test due to a newly developed lump on his body. He is my vital 90lb mobility service dog. Treatment will be done at Vetco Total Care. This grant will cover his max estimate of $1,174.31 to include post-op meds. TJ is special because he senses cortisol spikes to preempt my panic attacks. Born from Czech police lines, he chose a soft, loving heart instead. He protects our family with alpha chivalry, gently rolling on his back to let rescue Weimaraner Indie win play matches, and giving retired ranch dog Bailey absolute couch peace while using his 90lb body as my mobility shield. As a handler on a fixed disability income, this $1,174 Vetco surgery is an impossible mountain. Wiping out this bill means keeping my life-saving partner healthy and by my side so he can continue acting as my mobility shield and comforting my panic attacks. Thank you!
