Help Paws & Claws Protect Five Community Cats

Five community cats are counting on Paws & Claws Animal Welfare to help keep them safe. The cats are part of a growing community colony where population control has become an urgent concern. The situation became so serious that the local HOA was threatening to abandon the cats in the desert if the population could not be brought under control. Paws & Claws knew that simply removing or abandoning these cats was not the answer. Instead, they stepped in with a plan to begin TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) efforts in the area, helping stabilize the colony population while allowing the cats to remain in the environment they know. Five cats are now ready to receive the veterinary care they need. Four need to be neutered, one needs to be spayed, and all five need rabies vaccinations, deworming, and flea prevention. Three of the cats also need dental procedures to address their oral health. This is just the beginning. Paws & Claws plans to continue TNVR efforts in the area so that more cats can be safely sterilized and the colony can be managed humanely. But with multiple cats needing surgery, vaccines, medications, and other veterinary care, the costs add up quickly. Paws & Claws needs your help to make this possible. This little kitten is fighting for her life after suffering devastating injuries to both of her back legs and her tail. Veterinarians believe she was very recently struck by the blades of a riding mower, traumatically amputating her legs and part of her tail. The blood loss left her severely anemic, and her dangerously high white blood cell count indicates she is also battling an infection. Now, necrotic tissue on her legs and tail must be cleaned away—an extremely painful procedure requiring sedation if her bloodwork remains stable. She’ll need at least 12 hours of emergency veterinary care as her doctors continue to stabilize her. Right now, everything is being taken hour by hour. But there are reasons to hope: she is eating, she is holding on, and she is fighting. ❤️‍🩹 Castaway Critters is fighting right alongside her and showing this tiny girl that her life matters. Help This Sweet Cat Recover After Being Abandoned With Severe Eye Injuries

This gentle boy has already survived more than any cat should ever have to endure. He was allowed to roam outdoors by his former owners, but one day he returned with severe injuries affecting both of his eyes. Instead of getting him the help he desperately needed, his owners reportedly abandoned him because they were frightened by the condition of his eyes, leaving him far from home with no way to find his way back. 💔 Paws & Claws Animal Welfare refused to look away. After being kept temporarily safe at a local veterinary clinic, rescuers were finally able to arrange transportation to Cairo, where he was admitted to the British Animal Hospital. Veterinary specialists determined that both eyes had suffered serious damage and that urgent surgery was needed to give him the best possible chance of preserving his vision. His surgery was performed using advanced and costly techniques to preserve his eyes and protect his remaining vision. The surgeons successfully removed the damaged red glands from the surfaces of both eyes while preserving the eyes themselves. Thankfully, the surgery was successful. He has now been recovering at the hospital for nearly two weeks and continues to receive treatment and monitoring. And despite everything he has endured, he remains incredibly sweet, gentle, and affectionate. The doctors and hospital staff have completely fallen in love with him, affectionately calling him their little hospital cat. Unfortunately, Paws & Claws has not yet been able to pay toward his hospital bill. His specialized surgery, hospitalization, medications, and ongoing treatment have created significant expenses, and the rescue already has several other critical cases needing support. This boy was abandoned because someone was frightened by his appearance. We want to show him that being injured or different does not make him any less worthy of love. He survived abandonment, the streets, devastating injuries to both eyes, and complex surgery. Now he needs help getting through the rest of his recovery. Help Mittens Get the Care He Needs for a Safe Future

Mittens is just a tiny kitten who found himself in a situation no kitten should have to face. A community member brought Mittens to a local animal shelter through their TNVR program, hoping he could receive the care he needed before returning to his outdoor community. But there was one problem: Mittens was too young to be TNVR'd. The shelter didn't have space for him, leaving Mittens with a heartbreaking possibility—being released back outside without receiving the veterinary care he needed, with the hope that someone might be able to trap him again once he was old enough for the program. Thankfully, someone at the shelter reached out to Cathy's Cats Corporation and asked if they could take him. Cathy's Cats is already out of funds, but they knew they couldn't turn their backs on this little kitten. Mittens was too vulnerable to simply be put back outside, where he would face all of the dangers of life as an unvetted kitten. So they said yes. Now Mittens has a chance at something much better: a safe indoor home where he can grow up loved and protected. But before he can begin that next chapter, he needs his basic veterinary care. Mittens needs to be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for common feline diseases with a SNAP test. These routine services are essential for getting him healthy, protected, and ready to find his forever family. Cathy's Cats stepped up for Mittens even though their funds were already depleted. Now they need the Waggle community to step up for them. Our sweet Jupiter has been dealing with a persistent cough that just won’t go away. She has already gone through three rounds of antibiotics, but unfortunately, the cough is still present. Because she isn’t responding to antibiotics, our veterinarian has recommended chest X-rays with a radiologist’s interpretation to help determine what is actually going on and why she continues to cough. Her treatment plan is estimated at $637.30–$662.30, which includes her chest X-rays, sedation needed for the imaging, and a STAT radiology interpretation. We don’t want to keep guessing or continue putting her through medications without knowing what we’re treating. Jupiter deserves answers and the appropriate care she needs to get better. ❤️ As a small rescue, unexpected diagnostic expenses like this can be overwhelming, especially while caring for so many other medical cases. When Flying Pigs Sanctuary got the call about this tiny nugget with a gaping wound in his neck, they knew immediately what they were likely dealing with—a botfly larva. The good news? It’s treatable. The bad news? This tiny baby could NOT wait. And, of course, it was Saturday. So they scooped up little Marco—and his brother Polo —and rushed them straight to the ER. There are moments in rescue when you don’t have time to worry about what the bill will be. You just GO. The larva was removed, Marco’s wound was cleaned and treated, and he is recovering beautifully. Next stop: neuter, the rest of his vetting…and then a forever home. But emergency vet visits aren’t cheap, and FPS needs your help replenishing the funds they used to say YES to Marco. After Losing Her Leg, Wasabi Faces Another Medical Challenge

Wasabi has already overcome a devastating leg injury and learned to navigate life on three legs. Now this little survivor is facing another medical issue, and her rescuers are working to find out what's causing her tummy troubles. Wasabi was born outside as one of six kittens in a community cat colony. The original plan was for the kittens to go through TNR, but everything changed when their caretaker noticed something terribly wrong with Wasabi. She had suffered a severe injury to one of her legs, leaving an open wound with bone protruding from the limb. Despite how painful it looked, this determined little kitten was still showing up for food and water. When Rags to Riches Animal Rescue learned about her condition, they stepped in. Veterinarians ultimately determined that Wasabi's damaged leg could not be saved, and she underwent an amputation. Wasabi didn't seem interested in letting the loss of a leg slow her down for long. She recovered remarkably well and quickly adapted to getting around as a tripod. Her story even caught the attention of an adopter, and she began transitioning into a foster-to-adopt home while awaiting full medical clearance. But Wasabi's veterinary needs weren't quite finished. More recently, she began experiencing diarrhea, prompting additional testing to determine what could be causing her gastrointestinal problems. Her veterinary team ordered a feline diarrhea RealPCR panel, a diagnostic test that can help identify infectious causes behind persistent GI symptoms. That testing resulted in another $168 veterinary expense for her rescue. For a kitten who started life outside and once faced the possibility of being returned to her colony, Wasabi's world looks completely different today. She has survived a major injury, adapted beautifully to life on three legs, and has someone eager to give her the loving home she deserves. These tiny kittens deserve relief from pain and the chance to grow up knowing love. At just six weeks old, Pearl should be chasing toys, climbing everything in sight, and learning what it means to be a carefree kitten. Instead, she is living with an eye that is painfully infected and damaged beyond repair. When RBARI's veterinary team contacted them about two tiny kittens found outside and shared Pearl's photo, they knew they couldn't turn away. Pearl and her sister, Lucy, are battling calicivirus, which is a viral infection that can be especially dangerous for young kittens, along with eye infections and malnutrition after a difficult start to life. While Lucy's eyes are expected to heal with treatment, Pearl's injury is much more severe. Their road to recovery will include medications, veterinary care, surgery, and follow-up treatment. Every donation helps RBARI provide the care they both need—not only to survive, but to thrive. They are also working to trap, spay, and provide medical care to their feral mom, who heartbreakingly appears to already be pregnant again. Their goal is to break the cycle for this little family. Meet Tex and Abilene, two tiny warriors, only about 6 weeks old, who arrived at RBARI extremely ill and in desperate need of help. Tex, the little black-and-white boy, and Abilene, his torti sister, are both struggling to eat on their own and battling severe eye and upper respiratory infections. Even with care, each will lose an eye. Both need syringe feedings and close medical care. On top of everything else, these poor babies may have ringworm. Their medical care is just beginning. Between treatment for their infections, surgeries, medications, and continued supportive care, Tex and Abilene will need care for many weeks to come. Please consider making a donation today.
