Help Mantis Get the Eye Care He Needs

Lauderhill, FL • Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc.

Mantis is just a baby kitten, but she has already found himself facing a medical mystery. When she came into the care of Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation, our team immediately noticed that something wasn’t right with her eyes. They are enlarged and showing concerning changes, but despite a veterinary evaluation, we still don’t have a clear answer as to what is causing them. Because Mantis is so young and her symptoms are unusual, his veterinarian has recommended that he see an ophthalmology specialist. This appointment will hopefully help us understand what is happening with her eyes, determine whether there is an underlying condition, and develop the right treatment plan for this little kitten. One concern is that her symptoms could be related to a serious underlying illness such as ocular FIP, but we need further veterinary evaluation and testing before we can know for sure. For now, Mantis is being treated with that possibility in mind while we work to get him the specialized care she needs. As a rescue, we know that taking in animals with complicated medical needs can mean facing unexpected expenses. But when a tiny kitten like Mantis needs help, we can't simply turn her away because her care may be more than we anticipated. She deserves the opportunity to get answers and, most importantly, the chance to grow up healthy and comfortable. Your support will help Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation get Mantis to the eye specialist, pursue the diagnostics she needs, and begin the appropriate treatment based on what her veterinary team discovers. Please help us give Mantis a chance. Every donation brings this little kitten one step closer to answers, treatment, and the healthy future she deserves.

Bodhi

Declawed Senior Found Outside Starving, Emaciated & in Pain

Loxahatchee, FL • Wild Whiskers, Inc.

How does the sweetest senior boy, who wants nothing more than to be loved, end up outside in this condition? Bodhi was found outside begging for food — horribly matted, severely emaciated, declawed, and trying to survive on his own. Underneath his beautiful fur is almost nothing. Bodhi is quite literally bones and fur. His fluffy coat hides just how devastatingly thin he truly is. There is almost no fat or muscle left on his fragile little body. His spine and hips protrude, and even his chest bone visibly sticks out. But what breaks our hearts just as much as Bodhi's physical condition is who Bodhi is. Bodhi absolutely LOVES people. He follows us everywhere just waiting for attention. If we walk into another room, Bodhi follows. The moment someone sits down, he slowly makes his way over, climbs into their lap and curls up as close as he possibly can. He just wants to be loved. It is painfully obvious that at some point in his life, Bodhi had a family. He knows people. He knows laps. He knows the comfort of being inside. And at some point, someone had him declawed. Yet somehow this incredibly gentle senior boy ended up outside — declawed, horribly matted and starving until there was almost nothing left of his body. No family came forward for him. We may never know how Bodhi went from being someone's pet to begging for food outside. We only know that by the time help finally reached him, his little body desperately needed it. Once his painful mats were removed, we could finally see what his long fur had been hiding. Bodhi isn't simply underweight. He is severely emaciated. You can see and feel nearly every bone in his tiny body. There is virtually no muscle or fat left protecting him. We desperately wanted to give Bodhi time to eat, gain weight and rebuild some strength. Then we discovered just how painful his mouth is. Bodhi has severe dental disease with significant inflammation and infection. Because he is so emaciated, we originally hoped to give him about a month to gain desperately needed weight before putting his fragile body through anesthesia. Unfortunately, we don't have that month anymore. Bodhi has stopped eating enough on his own. The heartbreaking part is that he wants to eat. He goes to his food. He tries. But his mouth hurts too badly. I am now syringe feeding him just to try to keep his already skeletal little body from losing more weight. Then this week, Bodhi suddenly began limping and wouldn't put weight on his left leg. X-rays revealed significant arthritis in his knee. And knowing that Bodhi was declawed makes this especially difficult. Declawing isn't simply removing a cat's nails. It involves amputating the last bone of each toe. It permanently changes the anatomy of the paws and can alter how a cat bears weight and walks, which may contribute to chronic pain and joint problems later in life. Bodhi is severely emaciated. His mouth is infected and painful. He is struggling to eat. He is limping. And underneath all of it is still the sweetest little boy who follows us everywhere because all he wants is attention and a lap. Bodhi has been through enough. He should never have been outside trying to survive in this condition. He should never have become so thin that there is almost nothing left beneath his fur. And this incredibly affectionate little boy should never have had to beg strangers for food and help. We can't change what happened to Bodhi before he found us. But we can make sure the rest of his story is different. Please help us get Bodhi the dental surgery he desperately needs and deserves to give his fragile little body the chance to heal. We want to see weight covering those bones again. We want to watch him eat a full meal without pain. We want to get his arthritis comfortable. And most of all, we want this sweet senior boy to spend the rest of his life doing exactly what he loves most: Following his people around, climbing into their laps, and knowing he will never be left outside to fend for himself again.

Help This Senior Boy Recover From Major Surgery

Milwaukee, WI • Thrifted Kittens Animal Rescue

This 8-year-old orange boy was facing euthanasia when Thrifted Kittens Rescue decided his story wasn't going to end at the shelter. Wall-e was at risk because of both medical and behavioral concerns. But when the rescue took him into their care on July 14, they quickly discovered just how much help this senior boy was going to need. Wall-e arrived with several health challenges. He is FIV positive, has kidney disease, struggles with skin issues, and was battling a severe upper respiratory infection that required plenty of supportive care. Then came an even more frightening complication. After Wall-e was neutered, he developed a severe hernia, and his rescuers learned that his bladder had ended up in his abdomen. Wall-e had to return to surgery to repair the hernia and get everything back where it belonged. For a senior cat already dealing with multiple underlying medical conditions, it was another major hurdle added to an already difficult start. Thankfully, Wall-e has had Thrifted Kittens Rescue beside him through it all, making sure he received the surgery, supportive care, and continued veterinary attention he needed. And underneath all of those medical concerns is a wonderfully opinionated orange cat. Wall-e is lovingly described as a "grumpy love bug," and he has even decided that one of the resident cats is worthy of his friendship. After everything he's experienced, he is finally getting the opportunity to settle in and show the personality behind all those shelter notes and diagnoses. His journey isn't finished yet. Wall-e will need a kidney recheck before he can be cleared for adoption, and his rescue will continue monitoring his health as he recovers. Donations to Wall-e's campaign will help with his hernia repair surgery, treatment and supportive care for his severe URI, kidney monitoring, and the other veterinary needs that have come with giving this complicated senior boy a second chance. Wall-e may have arrived with a long list of reasons others could have passed him by, but Thrifted Kittens Rescue chose to see the cat underneath it all. Please consider helping with the medical care that has given this grumpy little love bug the opportunity to keep writing his story.

Goldfish

Goldfish Needs Two Surgeries for a Second Chance

Milwaukee, WI • Thrifted Kittens Animal Rescue

This happy little kitten nearly lost his life before he ever had the chance to find a family. Goldfish arrived at a local animal control as a stray with significant medical needs. One of his legs ended in a small nub, and he was also suffering from an infected, underdeveloped eye caused by microphthalmia. With no one to take responsibility for the extensive care ahead of him, Goldfish was facing euthanasia. Then Thrifted Kittens Rescue stepped in. Goldfish came into their care on July 1, and at only about 5 months old, he has already needed more medical treatment than most cats experience in a lifetime. His damaged leg continued to be a concern and ultimately required amputation surgery, which Goldfish underwent last week. Now he is preparing for another major procedure. Because his abnormal eye has continued to become infected, Goldfish will undergo an enucleation to have the affected eye removed next week. Two surgeries so close together have created a significant veterinary expense for his rescue, but Goldfish doesn't seem particularly interested in letting any of it slow him down. He is an incredibly happy, social little guy who has never met a stranger. He gets along with the other cats in his foster home, even when they aren't quite as enthusiastic about his friendship, and continues approaching life with the confidence of a kitten who has no idea he is supposed to be different. Soon, Goldfish will be navigating the world with three legs and one eye. For now, though, his focus needs to remain on his medical care and recovery before he can begin searching for a forever home. Donations to Goldfish's campaign will help Thrifted Kittens Rescue with the cost of his leg amputation, upcoming eye removal, and related veterinary care. Goldfish was given a chance when his future looked uncertain. Please consider helping his rescue cover the medical care that is giving this joyful little kitten the opportunity to heal and eventually find the family he deserves.

After Months of Illness, Hullabaloo Landed in the ER

Milwaukee, WI • Thrifted Kittens Animal Rescue

Just when this little guy was finally getting ready to put months of illness and isolation behind him, an unexpected medical emergency sent him straight to the ER. Hullabaloo came into Thrifted Kittens Animal Rescue on June 15 from a colony where illness had taken a devastating toll. He arrived alongside his bonded companion, who sadly later passed away from GI lymphoma. Hullabaloo was dealing with serious health challenges of his own. He developed ringworm and a severe upper respiratory infection, requiring treatment and an extended period of quarantine while his rescuers worked to get him healthy. After weeks of care, there was finally something to celebrate: Hullabaloo was cleared of ringworm! It was an important step toward putting his difficult start behind him and eventually becoming available for adoption. Unfortunately, Hullabaloo decided his medical journey needed one more unexpected twist. After recently receiving a vaccine, he suffered a severe reaction that required emergency veterinary care. After everything his little body had already battled, his rescue suddenly found themselves facing another unplanned medical expense. He certainly seems determined to live up to the name Hullabaloo! Through the ringworm, respiratory illness, quarantine, loss of his companion, and now an emergency trip to the vet, his rescuers have continued making sure he has everything he needs. The hope is that once Hullabaloo has recovered from this latest setback, he will finally be ready to begin looking for a family of his own. Please consider donating toward Hullabaloo’s veterinary care, including treatment for his previous illnesses and the unexpected emergency care needed following his vaccine reaction. Every contribution helps his rescue with the cost of getting this sweet boy healthy and ready for the next chapter of his life.

Tina

An Act of Cruelty Changed Tina’s Life

Alyarz Pet Club Association Inc

Tina Was Just a Kitten When Her Life Changed Forever 💔 At just three months old, Tina experienced unimaginable cruelty in Lebanon. Someone threw this innocent kitten into a pack of stray dogs, where she was viciously attacked. By the time she was rescued, her spine and both of her back legs were fractured. When Alyarz Pet Club found Tina, they rushed her to the veterinarian, determined to give her every possible chance at recovery. But her injuries were devastating. The damage to her spine left her unable to urinate on her own, and her tiny body faced a long, painful road ahead. Her rescuers refused to give up on her. Tina underwent multiple surgeries and extensive physiotherapy as her veterinary team fought desperately to save her legs. Through every procedure and every setback, they held on to the hope that she could recover without losing a limb. Sadly, despite their extraordinary efforts, veterinarians determined that amputation was the best option for Tina’s quality of life. It was a heartbreaking decision for the rescue that had fought so hard to save her leg, but their priority has always been giving Tina the best life possible. Now, Tina needs our help to continue her recovery. The amputation alone cost $300, and that doesn’t include her previous surgeries, veterinary care, or rehabilitation. Tina will also need additional physiotherapy to help her regain strength and mobility, with a package of just 10 sessions costing $420. Alyarz Pet Club has already taken on an enormous financial burden to save this little girl’s life. They have given Tina every chance at a brighter future, but they cannot continue without the support of compassionate animal lovers. Please consider donating to Tina’s campaign. Every contribution helps cover her mounting medical expenses and brings her one step closer to a future filled with comfort, love, and the chance to simply be a kitten again. Someone chose to hurt Tina. Together, we can choose to help her heal. ❤️

Help Pedro Pusscal Get the Dental Care He Needs

Norwalk, CT • Pet Animal Welfare Society of CT (PAWS)

For years, Pedro Pusscal lived outside after being left behind when his family moved away. Thankfully, a kind neighbor noticed him and refused to let him fend for himself. She began feeding Pedro and looking out for him, continuing to care for him for several years before reaching out for help getting him neutered and finding him a safer future. When Pedro was finally brought in for veterinary care, he was assessed and found to be friendly enough to have a chance at adoption. He also tested positive for FIV, a condition that can make ongoing veterinary care especially important. When Pedro arrived at Pet Animal Welfare Society of CT, it was clear that he wasn't feeling his best. A veterinary examination revealed significant dental disease. Dental problems can be particularly common in cats with FIV, and Pedro's condition was serious enough that he needed extensive dental treatment. Unfortunately, there were so many teeth requiring extraction that his dental care could not safely be completed in a single procedure. Pedro has already undergone his first dental procedure, but he still needs a second round of dental extractions to address the remaining diseased and painful teeth. Until this treatment is completed, Pedro is still facing the discomfort associated with his dental disease. After spending years outside and being cared for by a compassionate neighbor, Pedro deserves the opportunity to finally know what it feels like to be comfortable, cared for, and loved. Completing his dental treatment will help give him that chance and allow the team at Pet Animal Welfare Society of CT to continue working toward his adoption and a permanent home. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward Pedro's veterinary expenses for his second dental procedure and the remaining extractions he needs. Pedro has already come so far—from being left behind to having someone step in to help him, and now to receiving the medical care he needs. With your support, we can help make sure his dental treatment is completed so he can feel better and continue his journey toward the loving home he deserves. Please consider donating to Pedro's care. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps Pet Animal Welfare Society of CT provide the veterinary treatment Pedro needs and gives this deserving cat a healthier, more comfortable future.

Starr Needs Help Eating Again: Treatment for Painful Stomatitis

West Palm Beach, FL • Adopt A Cat Foundation

Starr has been part of the Adopt a Cat Foundation family for some time. After becoming the store cat, Starr found a loving long-term foster home where he could enjoy the comfort and companionship he deserves. Starr was already known to be FIV-positive and diabetic, but he is now facing another painful medical condition: stomatitis, a severe inflammation of the mouth that can make eating extremely painful. Recently, Starr stopped eating, and his foster caregiver’s mobile veterinarian recognized that something was wrong. He was rushed to MedVet, where he was hospitalized for two days and diagnosed with stomatitis. Thankfully, Starr is now stable enough to continue his care with Adopt a Cat Foundation, but his medical journey is not over. Once he is feeling stronger, Starr will need a full-mouth extraction (FME) to address the painful dental and oral disease. This procedure is an important part of helping cats with severe stomatitis find relief and return to eating comfortably. With his existing diabetes and FIV, Starr already needs ongoing veterinary monitoring and care. Now, he needs treatment for this painful condition so he can get back to enjoying his days as the affectionate, special boy everyone knows and loves. We want Starr to be comfortable. We want him to eat without pain. And we want him to have the best quality of life possible. Please help Adopt a Cat Foundation provide Starr with the veterinary care he needs, including his upcoming full-mouth extraction and continued medical monitoring. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings Starr one step closer to a comfortable mouth and a happier, healthier life. If you can't donate, please share Starr's story. Your share could help reach someone who can make a difference for this sweet boy.
