Thor

Thor is a 2-year-old Mixed Persian Cat in Staten Island, NY, who needs $1,300 for Urinalysis, Fluids, Antibiotics, Catheter.

Staten Island, NY

Thor was born in our family and did have a rectal prolapse at 3 months old, that we successfully cured. We were hoping that we will not have to being him in due to a medical emergency for more years to come, but here we are. He is two years old now, and he made our family smile again after horrendous COVID times and he helped my daughter to somehow cope with the war in Ukraine, her dad is there. Thor loves to pounce on top of the cat tree and catch everyone passing by with his paw, meow very loudly when dry food is low in his special bowl and walk funny (half jumping) while following my daughters to bed, to cuddle with them and sleep on top of their heads. Thor loves his feather toy, his dry food bags, and tikistix that he is not willing to share. He needs to inspect every room in the house every day and loves chasing flies around. He looooves belly rubs, and his meow is the cutest and most commanding there is We are patients at Island Bird Cat and Dog Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Scandaglia is our veterinarian. Thor is experiencing symptoms of either (or both) urinary blockage and UTI. I am a single mother who is self-employed, I have faced a decline in clients in the past year due to the war in Ukraine. I have three children and we are on food stamps and behind on rent, which I am actively trying to solve at the moment.

Maxim

Maxim is a 9-month-old Great Dane in Knoxville, TN, who needs $2,000 for Internal Medicine Diagnostic Testing.

Knoxville, TN

Max is my husband service dog in training. My husband and I are both disabled Army veterans. Max helps my husband with his PTSD and will be learning mobility assistance as well. We purchased this boy to help and now he has become my husband’s best friend. He is the most loving sweet boy on the earth and we are so blessed to have him. Max loves on everyone when he isn’t working with my husband. He never meets a stranger. He is best friends with my service dog, who misses him very much. Max may be a giant, but he is all heart. Max is an amazing boy. Even today when they were trying to get multiple IV’s going for him, he laid his big head in the tech’s lap and let her work. He is so laid back and so gentle. He is so special. Max is currently at UT Veterinary Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. Max started limping unexpectedly on Monday and we called to schedule a vet appointment. By Tuesday morning, he was no longer willing to walk. When we got him to the vet, he had a fever of 104.5. Our local vet has done all they can to determine the nature of Max’s illness after almost two days with them so now he is at UT We are disabled veterans, and do not make much monthly from that. UT is the most expensive place to take your dog but they are the difference between him living and not. He is so sick now. We are asking for help to afford his $3500 treatment estimate.

Isis

Isis is a 15-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Encino, CA, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Hospital Admission and Diagnostics.

Encino, CA

Hi, my name is Isis! My mommy rescued me from the pound when I was five years old. She named me after an Egyptian Goddess. We've been through thick and thin together over the last 10 years. I have a three year old sister named Tasha (see pictures). I'm so lovable and friendly, as you can see in one of my pictures, they really enjoyed having me around when I was at the vet. I'm such a good sport! I'm a great companion and good sister to Tasha. When my mommy is sad, I cuddle her to make her feel better, and when I am sad, she gives me lots of hugs too. I'm always at the door when she comes home from work, and I follow her everywhere, even to the bathroom! Mostly I stay indoors but I love watching birds and squirrels from the window, and sometimes my mommy takes me out in the warm sunshine! My favorite friend, besides mommy, is my sister Tasha. I am a very shy cat, and mommy and Tasha make me so comfortable and happy. Honestly, I think my mommy is super crazy about me. She's always giving me kisses and snuggles and when she comes home from work, I don't know who is happier to see who lol. Tasha's the talker, but it's the quiet ones, like me, who are good listeners! Recently, I had an unexpected medical emergency. Late Monday evening, I couldn't stop vomiting and going to the litter box, but nothing really came out the back end. For as many trips as I made, I only managed one tiny poop and I cried while it came out. I vomited two more times and went back to the litter box. This time there was blood. Mommy took me to Access Hospital, where I was admitted. Mommy's been living on a single income since 2020. Saving for an unexpected emergency is difficult. The few cards she has have low limits & the hospital stay maxed them out. She'll follow up with a regular vet, but this event has been emotionally & financially traumatizing.

Photo of Mungo Jerry

Mungo Jerry

Mungo Jerry is a 1-month-old Orange Tabby Cat in Fairfield , TX, who needs $1,000 for Surgery for Abdominal Hernia.

Fairfield, TX

Mungo lives at home here in Fairfield Texas. He was born under our house and our oldest dog Chase found him and his sister. We have been taking care of him since, bottle feeding and making sure they went potty and staying up late nights. And long days to keep them alive. Mungo is playful, sweet and innocent, loving and very aware. All our dogs treat him like a puppy. He's a huge deal with them. He's become part of our family. Mungo is a sweet loving kitten, he's playful and silly. He is fearless when playing with the dogs and his adventures. He makes us laugh with his pouncing around. He is a daddy's boy for sure and loves his soft blanket which is really moms and he loves to snuggle up close and purrs like crazy. Mungo has developed an abdominal hernia after being trampled by the dogs after unexpected circumstances. It has grown double in size or more and needs to be operated on. After having him seen at Fairfield veterinary hospital, if they say he's too small Buffalo veterinary hospital said they'd do it. Mungo was treated last week after literally being knocked unconscious being trampled...... We live paycheck to paycheck, after the emergency last week it broke us. We don't qualify for any assistance and we cant come up with that much at once. But we don't want Mungo to suffer and he deserves a chance at life. He's family now and we'll be devastated if we lost him
