Ragnar

Ragnar is a 11-month-old Rottweiler in Hookerton, NC, who needs $1,000 for Femoral Head & Neck Ostectomy.

Hookerton, NC

I’ve always wanted a Rottweiler & we were looking for a companion for our children. We already had a Doberman Pinscher & wanted to get another German dog breed. I also wanted a Rottweiler in particular to have some extra protection at home for my wife & children when I’m not there. We choose the name Ragnar for him because “The Vikings” was one of our favorite shows. Ragnar is truly something special. He loves everyone in the house & wants to be wherever we are. He is always going along with our son Oliver on little adventures. A majority of the time he is playing with his big brother, Achilles the Doberman. He is also a huge comfort to my wife who doesn’t like to be home alone. There are many things I could say about Ragnar. He’s much more than just a pet, he is a family member. From the get go he never needed much training, I have always admired his intelligence. Ragnar has so much love for everyone around him. He is always happy to meet new friends, even other animals. If someone is upset he is always the first one there to attempt to make it better. We recently found out that Ragnar has Legg-Perthes disease. Due to he’s illness Ragnar has a fractured femur and femur neck. We were told the only way to fix this is to get a femoral head and neck ostectomy. If we find a way to afford it, he will be getting surgery. This was a big blow to us as we are on a fixed income & struggling like many other people right now. We have sold many of our things to stay afloat these past few months. Care credit won’t help us & the vet won’t take payments. We’re so scared we’re going to lose him.

Teddy

Teddy is a 1-year-old White Cat in Chester, SC, who needs $1,879 for Fracture.

Chester, SC

Teddy is my daughters baby, he came to us from her grandparents cat after she had kittens and my daughter fell in love with this little white boy. Her aunt named him teddy and it fit him perfectly. He’s a sweet indoor/outdoor cat that isn’t afraid to come up for pets and cuddles. He comes when he’s called and has a very slight meow. There’s two other cats in the home, Abbey,6, Luna,>1 Teddy is my daughters baby, she has this undeniable bond with him, but that doesn’t say he loves all 4 humans in our home. He will come lay in your lap and make biscuits with you. He loves attention and food, but doesn’t eat it all up like our older cat. He loves all cats, he will cuddle all of them even if they hiss at him. Total teddy bear. Teddy comes when he’s called. He waits with the kids in the morning to get on the bus and is there waiting for my daughter when she gets off the bus. He waits for the door to be opened so he can come inside where he goes straight for the food (we have food outside too for other cats in the park) he follows you around when you’re outside in the yard and plays with the kids in whatever thing they do Teddy being an outdoor/indoor cat seems to get himself into normal cat situations, we try to treat the fleas, fight narks, and dirt. But we weren’t expecting a broken leg. With two other cats and two kids fixing this fracture was not gonna be easy. We love our Ted very much, and hate seeing him hurt. We have two other cats, two kids and a lot of bills with a little paycheck. Right now is Christmas time so it’s definitely not the time to have extra money for an unexpected fracture. Ted is our little guy, buddy, and friend, he is our daughters entire world.

Chip

Chip is a 5-year-old DSH Tabby Cat in Neola, IA, who needs $2,000 for Hystoplasmosis Treatment.

Neola, IA

Chip joined our barn cat colony 5 years ago. He was in a shelter and was deemed unadoptable because of his behavior while being confined in a cage. When he arrived at the farm, we quickly discovered that he was very loving and clearly just didn't like the shelter. He quickly made friends with the resident barn cats and happily greeted his humans everyday. Chip loves attention and greets his humans with purrs and leg rubs. He loves to snuggle on your lap, give kisses, and purrs super loud! He has a happy disposition and loves treats! At feeding time, he always gives extra leg rubs to thank his humans. He loves to explore outside and nap in the sun. He also loves to curl up in the cat tree in front of the window. Chip's loving personality makes him extra special. He has the loudest purr and would be with his humans 24/7 if he could. He loves to play with feather toys and is a pro at tossing them in the air and catching them. He will drag his favorite blanket around the house and nap on it after he selects the perfect spot. He gives sandpaper kisses anytime he gets the opportunity. Chip started having raspy breathing, lameness in his hind limbs, watery eyes, and lethargy. He was given antibiotics and a steroid shot. After 10 days, he was seen again and given another of antibiotic. After weeks of seeing temporary results, he had further testing and was diagnosed with a rare fungal infection that requires long term care. I cannot imagine life without this amazingly sweet boy. He is now a house cat and an important member of our family. Dues to health issues and losing my job, I am seeking help to continue to give him the ongoing medical care he needs and deserves.

Gus

Gus is a 6-year-old French Bulldog in Long Beach, CA, who needs $1,500 for Intervertebral Disc Herniation - ICDD.

Long Beach, CA

Gus came into my life when I was a senior in College. I was in upstate NY at the time and drove all the way to Southwest of Ohio where I met little Gus. Gus has been working as an emotional support animal at first for myself but then to others in need. He's been to Seattle Children's Hosp., Strong Memorial Hospital, James Center - Ohio State, USLC-RR, Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, USC, & more Gus is an super sweet loving and snuggles with everyone he comes in contact with. Currently Gus has been working with a 12 yr child who has suffered from trauma (mental and physical abuse). Gus goes where ever you go in the home. The best companion dog you could ask for. During the day he enjoys soaking up the sun. He never leaves your side at night and waits for you to awake in the morning. Gus is very entertaining. He snorts like a little piggy all the time. When you give him anything he gets super excited and then begins to snort even louder! We have little nicknames like Gus Gus, Mr. Piggy, Little Guy, Bunny, Diesel Engine and more. He also is known for his farts, funny enough, he is like a gas chamber sometimes, so pay attention if you're in the line of fire. Gus unfortunately has a slipped disc in his back, also known as a herniated disc. A slipped disc in dogs is a veterinary neurology issue that can happen by a rupture of a healthy disc can be caused by trauma playing, fall from height (couch, steps) with tearing of the annulus fibrosus. For Gus he was at home in a blocked off area where he must have hurt himself playing with toys. Currently I am in financial assistance from the effects of Covid-19. Gus is mine and other support animal both in home and in a clinical/hospital setting. Gus is very important to several people, I'm afraid his death could be detrimental to those around him.

Blackie

Blackie is a 11-year-old Shorthair Cat in Valley Center, KS, who needs $1,750 for Oral Surgery for Acquired Palatal Defect and Enucleation.

Valley Center, KS

Blakie came into our lives 9 years ago. A stray cat showed up on our door step yowling. I told my daughter she could feed it a can of tuna. 2 days later that same cat showed up with 4 little kittens. I went an bought a bag of cat food. We were living in a rental with a mouse problem and Mama Cat brought me a dead mouse. And that is how we got a cat. My daughter named her Blackie. Blackie and my daughter have been best friends ever since. She has also been my study buddy while I earned my degree in Nursing and foot warmer on cold winter nights. We also have my son's dog, Easton and they tolerate each other, but whenever I walk Easton she follows along. She has been out constant faithful and loving companion. Blackie has always been an indoor/outdoor cat and makes her rounds through the neighborhood (I let all the neighbors know she belongs to us and is well taken care of) Everyone knows how sweet and loving she is. She greets the next door neighbor every morning when he leaves for work. She did try convincing one neighbor she was starving and pregnant. I think he still gives her treats. We were dog sitting, the dog broke out of her cage and attacked Blackie. The dog had gotten hold of her face and broke her hard palate and damaged her eye. She is back home but without surgery food goes through the roof of her mouth and into her respiratory tract. She will have her mouth repaired and her eye removed. I am a single mom. Unexpected electrical repairs last spring and the Emergency Vet Bill have wiped my savings. The estimate for the surgery is $3500. Surgery will keep her well and able to love on us for years to come.

Tsunami

Tsunami is a 5-year-old Pitbull in Albany, GA, who needs $2,000 for Cancer Biopsy and CT Scans.

Albany, GA

Tsunami is a gentle, lovable girl. She is a valued companion for my Autistic child, my grandson. Our vet just informed us that the red sore on her nose that appeared out of nowhere 2 weeks ago is almost certainly cancer. I need to come up with $2000 for the test and biopsy. I could really use all the help I can get. She is our world and it's killing me to even think about losing her. Tsunami is my only emotional support. She is also the only thing that can calm my grandson down when he has an Autism meltdown. She is a cuddle bug and is the most gentle animal I have ever known. She is the glue that holds our family together. I have many obstacles I face each day caring for 4 family members with severe disabilities. She is all that I have. She knows when my grandson is having difficulty coping. She responds to him will kisses and cuddles. She loves playing with our cat. She will drag around a thin rope for the cat to play with. She is more human than K-9. I am financially strapped due to the rising costs of everything and this expense or the alternative of losing my baby girl is sending me over the edge. She has always been very healthy and happy up until 2 weeks ago. Out of nowhere a ulcer formed on her right nostril. The vet said that they believe it is cancer and needs a biopsy and other tests to determine the extent. These test will cost $2000. My children and grandchildren, who I raise and support are voluntarily giving up having a Christmas this year in hopes of saving Tsunami. I am the sole wage earner for our family of 7. My husband is disabled and is trying to get SSDI. I have a son 23 with a traumatic brain injury, a daughter, 18, with agoraphobia. I am also raising 2 grandchildren. 1 is 9 with Autism, ADHD, and a learning disability.

Moab

Moab is a 5-year-old Golden Retriever in Bozeman, MT, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Heat Stroke Treatment.

bozeman, MT

Moab is a fun-loving, hard-working, loving golden retriever who is (almost) 6 but can still kick it like he's a pup! We've moved around a bunch from upstate New York to Colorado to Texas and currently Montana. He loves to join us for our adventures in the backcountry skiing, running, or hiking! He's the best adventure partner a girl could ask for. Moab is a sweet, sweet boy who loves to cuddle up on the couch just as much as he loves to run long miles in the woods. He shows love to anyone and everyone, giving them the support they need. He is my emotional support animal but has helped so many others feel safe, secure, and steadied with his demeanor. Being my emotional support animal, Moab has been trained to help me get through anxiety/panic attacks, stay grounded during intense or scary situations, and remind me to breathe when I get overwhelmed. He is the reason I am still alive, after helping me get through a few near-death years in treatment for a severe eating disorder. On a recent 20 mile hike across the Ridgeline in Montana (from Fairy Lake to the M) we had made it nearly 17 miles in and Moab experienced severe heat stroke. His body shut down on him with three miles to go and my partner and I took turns carrying him the three remaining miles on our shoulders. His temp was 107 when we got him to Pet Emergency Trauma Specialists/Bridger Veterinary Specialists. As a student, I do not have the means to pay for Moab's treatment. He has been my rock since the moment I got him as a pup. I need him just as much as he needs me, and seeing him in poor health is killing me. I need to be there for him, but right now I need help doing that.

Lu Lu

Lu Lu is a 1-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Apalachin, NY, who needs $600 for Coxofemoral Hip Luxation.

apalachin, NY

Lu Lu needs your help, our precious little girl has gotten herself into trouble!!! We don't know exactly what happened to her, but on Sunday June 19, 2022 we found her laying in the grass. As I picked her up I noticed she was not her normal "cat self" (she's usually very feisty). We now have to wait until Friday June 24 2022 for her to have x-rays and see exactly what we are dealing with. Our Little Lu Lu (she's only 5lbs) I don't think she will ever get any bigger. She's a Mini Panther. She's the ruler of the house, she puts all the boys in their place, even the dogs (1 purebred Pitbull and her son,1/2 Pittie)!! She is my husbands companion, following him all over the yard. She just showed up 1 day, a stray kitten and she took over the house and our hearts!!! Lu Lu is the queen of the house, it's amazing at only 5lbs she rules the roost. She is our feisty little girl who won't take crap from any other animal (or human!!) She is also the sweetest little thing who loves to cuddle, of course on her terms...I hate to see her in pain as she is right now, thankfully the one vet did give her something for the pain until she can be seen by the other vet. We are so thankful to the Binghamton Animal Clinic in Johnson city. They gave her something for the pain, and were able to get us into the Veterinary Medical Center on Friday for X-rays and hopefully they will get her back to her old self. We don't know if her hip is dislocated or if she has a fracture. I am thankful to the staff. I was DX with MS in 2004, I had to quit working in 2018 as my MS has progressed, I am currently waiting for SS Disability to hear my case. Any help would be a blessing, Thank you

Debo

Debo is a 7-year-old in Las Vegas, NV, who needs $717 for Ax minor- Tumor removal.

Las Vegas, NV

I got Debo with my ex husband around six years ago. Debo wasn’t in the best living conditions and I wanted him to come home with us, he did. I have another Frenchie Murphy and they became best friends along with my other three cats. I had a child almost three years ago. It’s me, my son and five animals. One big happy family. We recently moved into a rental home. Debo loves sun bathing on the patio and running around the house chasing the cats and eating whatever scraps my son drops on the floor. Debo is a big lover and will only sleep on a person. Very clingy but I wouldn’t have it any other way. He’s not much into playing like a normal dog but he loves chewing his bones. He’s not the most handsome dog (to other people) but I think he’s adorable. Hes a loud sleeper, it soothes me to sleep when it would keep most people up. He’s the most affectionate dog. Will paw at you if you stop petting him. He follows me everywhere. Especially the kitchen. I’ve never met a dog that is just hungry 24/7. He would eat anything and everything if I let him. So back in January I was able to get some care credit to get Debos teeth cleaned, they found a growth on his cheek and had it biopsied. Bad news it was Malignant oral melanoma, my heart broke. I’ve chosen not to do chemotherapy for him due to his age and cost. Im going the more holistic approach to make his time left he has a litte more comfortable. The tumor has grown back I’m a single stay at home mom on a very tight budget. This has been a terrible year as I’m sure for everyone. Debo is part of the family and is very cared for and loved it would mean the world to me to keep him pain free as long as he is here.
