Photo of Pocket

Pocket

Pocket is a 6-year-old Domestic short hair in KENNETT SQUARE, PA, who needs $2,000 for a painful scab) on his left eye that needs to be removed.

KENNETT SQUARE, PA

My first meeting with Pocket was absolutely not love at first sight! I thought Pocket was a jerk. While I was peering at his little face, he stretched up and bit me on the nose! The next day I went back to see another kitten. I lifted Pocket up and asked, "Do you remember me?" He leaned in and licked me on the nose. I couldn't say no to that. So Pocket (and the other kitten) came home with me). Even though his brother Albie is much bigger, Pocket is the one in charge between the two of them. He's a little rough with Albie at times, but he's a total snuggle bug, otherwise. He will sit in my lap and snuggle down while I work from home. If I sit down on a couch or chair, Pocket will inch closer and closer until he is lying on my lap. He thinks he's sneaky. It's so cute. About 10 years ago, I got laid off by my job. I got a job that only paid $15k a year. I was almost homeless. I got a credit card to make up the loss of income. My credit score is bad because I had no money to pay off the cards. I'm still paying them off, and my score is bad. Pocket has Entropion on both eyes that needs to be corrected and a Sequestrum (a painful scab) on his left eye that needs to be removed with micro-surgical tools by a specialist surgeon. His surgeon, Elizabeth Lutz, is specially trained. Entropion means his lower eyelids curl in on his eyes. The fur rakes across his eyes causing ulcers which leads to painful Sequestrum on his eyes. Pocket is such a long, slinky cat. If you pick him up, he limp noodles sometimes. And he is really long! My vet once told me, "That is not a pocket-sized cat!" But he has the highest-pitched voice. It absolutely does not match the way he looks. His little "Mew!" makes me laugh every time I hear it. He will run into a room, look at me, shout out "Mew!" I'll say "What?" And he'll just run back out.

Chester

Chester is a 8-year-old Domestic Short hair in AUBURN, ME, who needs $950 for Oral Surgery.

AUBURN, ME

I'd like to introduce you to Chester. He and his older "brother" live with myself and some family, as well as another cat, who just so happens to be his litter mate. I received Chester from my Mum as a foster, initially. But he bonded with my 1 yr old (at the time), Tecumseh. The sweetest bromance was formed and I couldn't split them up. They've been together ever since. Chester is a very shy and secretive cat. He avoids people and animals he doesn't know. It takes years for him to feel comfortable with someone. He only just started sitting in my lap, after 7.5 years of him being with me. But once he bonds with you, he gives all of himself to you, unconditionally and fully. While I have been able to save up enough to just barely cover the dental costs, the diabetes was unexpected. My savings will be cleaned out and I still need to have money to find my own place. Arthritis limits how much I can work. Chester and his brother grew up as indoor/outdoor country cats. They hunted mice, rabbits and birds. They ate fresh medicinal plants they found in the woods and fields. They ran and explored miles every day. Then four years ago, my circumstances changed and they have been strictly indoor since. Now, Chester has diabetes (Tecumseh not far behind) and both cats need the same $1k dental procedure. Chester will initially be very quiet and reserved around new people. But once he warms up to you and learns to trust you, he opens right up and will talk to you all the time. He will request attention with a *tap tap tap* of a soft paw on your shoulder, and a sweet *chirp* of "attention me?" He loves being brushed and will squash up against his brother to get between him and the brush. "Brush me!"

Sage

Sage is a 5-year-old Pitbull in Lacey , WA, who needs $2,000 for ACL repair.

Lacey, WA

My best friend's dog had puppies. Sage was the only pup who hadn't been spoken for so I took her in. I instantly felt connected to her. I was in an abusive relationship years ago. My abuser attempted to come into my bedroom with a gun. Sage barked, alerting me and scaring him away. I am forever grateful to her and feel I owe her my life. Sage loves to swim, watch movies, go on hikes, and nap with my toddler. She also likes car rides, eating pork, and going to petsmart. She likes to fall asleep on my chest. She likes to be tucked in with a blanket like a little baby. She enjoys being pampered and getting baths. Before her injury she also enjoyed going for runs. Sage has undergone many medical procedures. She had cancer when she was 1. She has been the victim of dog attacks which required several surgeries. She also had a tumor removed. Her medical care has added up to an unmanageable amount Currently she has a torn ACL. She needs surgery as soon as possible so she can walk and prevent further injury to her other leg. We have received a diagnosis but are in the process of choosing a surgeon/facility we feel comfortable with. I will update the name of the veterinarian as soon as possible. Sage is an amazing singer. She likes to sing along to Adele. She likes to go in my purse and bring me presents (cough drops, tampons, etc). She's amazing with my toddler. They love playing in the hose together. She is just a ball of love. She's hijacked many of my bubble baths. She also likes to roll down big hills

Photo of Mozart

Mozart

Mozart is a 12-year-old AmStaff in Ravenel, SC, who needs $2,000 for Kidney Removal Surgery.

Ravenel, SC

Mozart was rescued from euthanasia at 5 months old on 3/3/09 when I worked at vet clinic. He had a prolapsed rectum about 8-12inches! Once he was old enough, Mo became a therapy reading dog and passed his AKC k9 good citizen test. Later, he answered the call to become my service dog, helping me go out in public again. Mozart lives with 2 cats and a toddler(16m) and enjoys being a nanny dog. Mozart LOVES when we foster kittens and taking care of babies of any species. Mo also enjoys watching TV and barking at all the animals. When he isn't following me room to room, Mozart tries to become one with the couch. When heading out, Mo will bulldoze his way to the car. He really does help take care of me no matter where we find ourselves. I have have put $1400 in diagnosis and running tests to get ready for surgery. Just out of additional funds at this point. Having his kidney removed would extend his life, but more importantly, improve his quality of life exponentially. Mo has been diagnosed with kidney cancer and needs to remove his cancerous kidney. We've gone through all the hoops of diagnostics to make sure he is in the best health possible. Now just surgery. The cancer hasn't spread, his BW looks great, but he is constantly urinating blood from the bad kidney. Charleston Vet Refferal Center - Dr. Rissetto Mozart is a stand out and a model of excellence to all Staffies and "pitbulls". A smart calming, caring soul. You can also play a game with Mo where you try to kiss his nose before he kisses you(like in the baby video). He is very good at this, giving kisses. When hanging out the car window, he likes to wear his Doggles and demands you load his butt in the car for him.

Photo of Rodney Harrington

Rodney Harrington

Rodney Harrington is a 7-year-old Domestic shorthair in Yonkers, NY, who needs $1,371 for treatment of ketoacidosis.

Yonkers, NY

Our sweet Rodney came to us 3 years ago. He had been dumped on the streets to fend for himself; he was skinny and dirty & about 4 years old. A snow storm was coming and his eye was injured so we trapped him and got him to the vet. He was neutered, and sadly, lost his eye. But it didn't slow him down! He grew to trust us & bonded with our other 2 cats. He's such a love-bug. We love Rodney SO much. Rodney LOVES his brother Tiger. They groom each other & nap near each other all the time. Rodney loves to be brushed - and if you're offering chin scratchin's, then he'll be your BEST friend!! Rodney seems to have forgotten his past where he was not protected or cared for - that means EVERYTHING to us. He is so resilient trusting and loving. And he can make any spot the perfect napping spot! My bf of 18 years is in end-stage kidney failure & can't work, so money is tight. But we love our cats. Phoebe has kidney disease (stable), Tiger a history of strokes & now Rodney will have special needs. We maxed out 3 credit cards for Rodney's care. Any help appreciated. Rodney recently started eating less than usual & losing weight, so we took him to the vet on Mon. Blood work came back Tues (3/30/21) & showed our sweet boy is diabetic & was actually in a very dangerous state called ketoacidosis. I rushed him to the emergency vet & he's been there 2 days. Dr. Heuter is treating him. Praying he recovers & can come home soon where he'll be on insulin for life. Rodney is all about his morning routine - greet human mom, breakfast, then to the living room window to supervise the birds & squirrels in the yard. He takes his job very seriously - chattering at the birds & pawing at the window while the squirrels eat their peanuts. He loves a good roll in some catnip, thinks his human dad gives the BEST chin scratchin's & loves being brushed (cue the drool!).

Photo of Faline

Faline

Faline is a 7-year-old Schnauzer Poodle in Pomona, CA, who needs $1,572 for Bladder Stone Surgery.

Pomona, CA

Faline was dropped off to us by a family friend who didn't want her at 11 months old because she was "hard to train". Of course we took her right then and there and have had her ever since. We already had a pekingese we adopted a year before, Bunny. Once they met, they were absolutely inseparable. Unfortunately, Bunny passed away last year & it has been very hard for us. Especially for Faline. Faline gives the best snuggles in the world. She loves sleeping in bed with her momma and is a very loud snorer. She loves her afternoon walks after I get off from work and her favorite things in the world are puppacinos. She loves playing tug-of-war and running around the park playing tag with her favorite humans. I'm the only working family member in my household right now & I cant come up with that kind of money so urgently. Any spare change would mean the world to me. I would give up my life for my dog if I could. I just want her to be healthy. My sweet girl does not deserve this. I'm so ashamed to be asking for money during times like these but I've lost one dog already and I can't bear the the thought off losing 1 more. Faline is in need of an emergency bladder stone removal surgery. The bladder stones are very big & can only be extracted through surgery. On top of that, she is at risk of a UTI. Bunny was Faline's partner in crime. Best friend. A bonded pair. He passed away last November and it hit her very hard. She wouldn't eat, wouldn't play, she wouldn't get out of bed most days. She is slowly recovering and has been opening back up her heart and getting back to normal. Our favorite thing to do now is going for car rides & having the wind in her face while I play Lady Gaga.

Photo of Shyla Rose

Shyla Rose

Shyla Rose is a 4-year-old Beagle Labrottie in Fairmont, MN, who needs $1,700 for TPLO or TTA.

Fairmont, MN

Shyla Rose became family in 2016. She was born in a pet mill house and was rescued by our local shelter along with about 20 dogs. She was adopted twice and returned twice. She was scared of any man in a hat. 3 of my 4 children were still living at home. We agreed to never give up on this shy black/ red dog with big brown eyes. We named her Shyla Rose. We gently taught trust and love. In the 4 years since then she developed so well she was trained as my ADA medical service dog. When Shyla Rose is off duty she is always ready for the dog park or playtime. She makes people laugh with her human-like expressions and clever antics. Many comment on how well behaved and cute she is. More than a few adopted her as lap dog. They give scratchies while she listens to every word. Being on Social security disability allows me to care for us and save a little. The surgery and rehab is very expensive. Everyone I know wants to help but it's not enough so we came to Waggle for help. I need my Shyla Rose back. She needs you to help. My children are grown. It's just us now. We were in the garden when she ran and tripped on a loose rock. Her right hind knee has a torn ligament that requires metal plates and surgery. She cannot perform all the duties for which she was trained because she can only walk slow or lay down. Nothing else. Dr. Katzner referred her to Blue Pearl Pet Hospital for surgery. I'm crying for her pain. Shyla Rose loves people, dogs, cats, and especially squirrels. Her favorite ball glows in the dark. Her favorite game is hide the treat in something she unwraps. Sometimes she pretends someone is at the door to trick me out of bed then smiles goofy. I love everything about her. She gives me hope. While asleep she sticks her legs in the air and runs. She makes more sounds asleep than awake.

Cookie Bear

Cookie Bear is a 8-year-old Shih Tzu in Bixby, OK, who needs $2,000 for CT of Oral Mass to Determine Removal and Cancer Treatment Plan.

Bixby

Cookie came to us as a very tiny and precious puppy! He lives with my daughter and myself and has a shitzu brother named Pepper. They play all day. They keep each other company, and are inseparable. Cookie is our BEST FRIEND! He Loves everyone. He is the best snuggler. He lives to play fetch with us. He will pick up three small balls and carry them around. He has a younger Shitzu brother named Pepper. They are the best of friends. Cookie has never met another dog that he didn’t want to play with. He is a very friendly and happy guy. He is funny! He loves baths, and carries his hair brush around. The best quality that Cookie has would be that he loves kids! He allows any kid to pet him, and loves new people. In our neighborhood, he will sit down in the middle of a group of kids, allowing all of them to pet him or walk him. He is well known! He teaches kids to love dogs. He gives lots of “high 5’s”to all his friends. Cookie is 8 years old and has always been in perfect health. Recently he had a growth pop up in his mouth. It was so big that he was losing weight and having trouble keeping his younger in his mouth. We discovered that the tissue is Squamous Cell Carcinoma. The only way to treat it, is to remove all of the affected area. Which could mean part of the jaw is removed. The total cost for the surgery is between $4,000-$ 6,000. I am a single mom with limited funds. I was not approved to borrow money. The tumor needs to be removed quickly. He can live a normal life after surgery. Giving up on having Cookie around is not an option.
