Bubby is a rescue from the ASPCA We rescued him and his sister at the same time. We instantly fell in love with them and they have been the biggest blessings. He is currently two years old and so full of life. Bubby loves all kids, friends, and anyone he sees. He currently lives in our house where he has tree canopies and the couch is his favorite place to nap in the sun. Bubby loves to go for walks and play with his sister. He loves the feathers on toys and his favorite toy is little mice to chase. Bubby is the first one to go up and greet our guests and always wants to cuddle with anyone. He sleeps snuggled up in our blankets every night and wakes us up in the morning when he is hungry. Our cat is so special to us. He brightens our days each and every day. Bubby loves to meow at the door until we take him for walks. One of my favorite things about him is when he tries to chase lizards and then get scared when he actually touches him. After the walks he naps for hours and then wakes up ready to do it all again. We noticed he was not feeling well a few days ago and took him to the vet where he was put on antibiotics but they have not been working and tonight he began having labored breathing and couldn't move. We rushed him to the ER and our boy has to undergo surgery ASAP. I am currently a college student and we recently bought a house. We paid as much as we could for his surgery but he still needs more. Having our cat means the world to us and I can't imagine waking up without him every day.

He's very lethargic, explosive diarrhea, bloated belly and wants to drink water but won't. I'm very scared for my Lil baby and I don't want to lose him!!! 😭 He's always wanting to play with his big sister, when most the time she finds him to be annoying. He was given to me by a family friend since he was really small as soon as he could walk and see I took him with me, ever since he’s been with me for 4 years He’s been getting urinary blockages in just a week after his first obstruction and can’t get the castrate surgery done because he had his blood elevated which made the surgery get postponed. He’s a sweet boy who is caring, when I cry In front of him he comes up to me and rubs on me to make me feel better. He is friendly with my family and also to strangers everyone who interacts with him says he’s a sweet, calm, and doesn’t cause much trouble for them. Since the first urinary blockage wasn’t that long ago and I didn’t get a chance to keep saving and I’m now in a tight situation where I might not have enough to pay my bills and get him the castrate surgery so that he no longer gets a constant urinary blockage.

Flying Pigs Sanctuary is caring for an incredible pup named Burrito. They refer to him as the paralyzed pup who refuses to let anything slow him down. He now proudly walks (or should we say _wobbles_!) on his own, but he had an unexpected trip to the vet recently. Like many "down dogs," Burrito will likely battle urinary tract infections throughout his life. Because these infections can become serious very quickly, they never take any chances. At the first sign of trouble, he was off to the veterinarian for treatment. Flying Pigs Sanctuary is asking for a little help covering the cost so Flying Pigs Sanctuary can continue saying "yes" whenever Burrito needs care. Reina came into my life unexpectedly, and it truly feels like she was meant to be here. She was accidentally hit with a truck. She was taken to the veterinarian, where X-rays showed no broken bones. Reina's previous owner, who, due to difficult personal circumstances, was unable to take her back. I welcomed her into my home. Although Reina did not suffer any fractures in the accident, she has significant difficulty using one of her back legs. Her previous owner reported that the leg problem existed before the accident, suggesting this may be the result of an older injury rather than the collision itself. Reina has an incredibly gentle spirit. She enjoys lying in the grass, watching the world around her, and spending time with our family. Every day she becomes a little more confident.. Like many families, we weren't expecting to suddenly become responsible for ongoing veterinary expenses. Even though I gladly opened my home to Reina, her medical needs extend beyond what I can afford on my own.

Meet Tigress. She came into the lives of Flying Pigs Sanctuary during a rescue that they say none of them will ever forget. They were originally called to help a pig whose owner had passed away suddenly. The pig had been confined indoors for over seven years and was unable to walk. While they were working to get him to safety, they learned there were other animals still on the property. That’s when they met this sweet girl. What they saw that day was heartbreaking. Tigress was suffering from one of the worst skin conditions they had ever seen. Her back and neck were covered in raw, painful wounds that had clearly been untreated for a very long time. The family loved her but simply didn’t have the resources to get her the veterinary care she desperately needed. She was 12, and had NEVER been to a vet. Although their sanctuary was already at capacity and they could not take Tigress in permanently, they could not walk away from her suffering. They committed to getting her the care she deserved and to helping her find a place where she could live out her remaining time surrounded by love. After veterinary evaluation, they learned the wounds on her back and neck were cancerous tumors. Even though their veterinary team was able to surgically remove them,the cancer came back. Tigress is an old lady and what she needs now is to simply to be loved. Despite everything she has endured, Tigress remains incredibly affectionate with people. She craves human attention and lights up when someone spends time with her. She is potty trained, enjoys going for walks on or off the leash and has been very easy to care for in a home setting. She is a bit stiff these days, so she is currently on joint and pain medication to keep her comfortable but she’s found sanctuary, and we will love her until it’s her time. When she came to Flying Pigs Sanctuary, she was heartworm positive, riddled with worms, and desperately needed help. Thanks to the support of animal lovers like you, Hazy got a second chance. She overcame her illnesses, gained strength, and has spent the last two years thriving and enjoying the life she deserves. Recently, however, Hazy began limping. After a veterinary exam, they received heartbreaking news: she is suffering from severe arthritis. While we can't turn back the clock, we can help keep her comfortable and pain-free in her golden years. Hazy's recent veterinary visit totaled $350, and her arthritis medications cost an additional $225. We're asking for help covering these unexpected expenses so we can continue giving Hazy the care she needs. Maddie has been a survivor. She was born with FPV and was the only one of the litter to survive. This left her with hip issues and impaired vision, I adopted her anyway. I think since her vision is off, it has made her a jumpy little cat. 2 years ago she had dental surgery and most all of her teeth were removed. She's has been acting strangely for a month and a half, hiding in corners and then not eating. The last 6 weeks, she's been more off than on. 5 days ago she wasn't in my face when the alarm went off, I found her crouched in a corner and burning up with a fever. The vets office, St. Johns Veterinary Hospital FL saw her that day and recommended extensive testing soon or she would need to go down. I've called her my special baby her whole life, she's so sweet. She has this routine of going to the patio door to let me know it needs to be open and then going to her dish to let me know food needs to be put in it and if there's no food in the dish, she'll circle the island a couple of times and then shoot me a look, lol. My business slowly tapered off, so I got a part time job. There were car and teeth repairs, before I knew it there was no emergency fund. I tried the roommate thing so I could build it up but didn't work so paying all living expenses, with little to go to an emergency fund.

Help Colt Fight Sepsis After a Traumatic Birth

Just days into his life, Colt is already fighting for survival. Born on May 6, this precious foal arrived after a difficult and traumatic foaling that quickly became an emergency. During birth, Colt was without oxygen for a period of time, leaving his fragile body struggling to stabilize in those critical first moments of life. Leap of Faith Equine Rescue and Sanctuary rushed Colt for emergency veterinary care, where he was diagnosed with sepsis — a life threatening infection that can quickly become fatal in newborn foals without immediate intensive treatment. Right now, Colt is receiving critical hospital care, medications, diagnostics, and around the clock monitoring from his veterinary team. Despite such a frightening start to life, his doctors remain hopeful and believe he has an excellent chance of recovery with continued treatment and support. Even through everything, Colt is showing the heart of a fighter. Emergency neonatal care for foals is incredibly expensive, and the costs continue to grow with hospitalization, medications, and supportive treatment needed to keep him stable and healing.
