Bourbon

Bourbon is a 3 month old German Shepherd Dog in Follansbee, WV, who needs $2,000 for Megaesophagus.

Follansbee, WV

Hi, meet Bourbon, our adorable 3-month-old German Shepherd puppy. Recently diagnosed with megaesophagus, Bourbon has already made an indelible mark on our family. We brought him home as a Valentine’s Day gift for our 2.5-year-old daughter, who is absolutely captivated by Paw Patrol and animals. The bond they share is truly heartwarming and a testament to the beauty of unconditional love. Since his arrival, Bourbon has faced significant health challenges, including vomiting, diarrhea, labored breathing, and a concerning gurgling sound. His initial diagnostic tests—X-rays and a barium swallow study—raised alarms about Persistent Right Aortic Arch (PRAA) and megaesophagus. Partnering with Safe Haven Wexford, we are now focused on addressing his conditions, particularly megaesophagus We chose a German Shepherd for their extraordinary loyalty and remarkable intelligence, making a wonderful companion for our daughter to grow up and enjoy for many years. They are best friends who love playing ball, doing tricks, and running alongside of each other. He is a good ol boy and very sweet despite his health issues. He brings our home laughter and joy beyond measure. Ongoing appointments, tests and care are costly with no clear end. Despite our single income home, we are dedicated to his care. Please help us make sure he can live a long healthy, happy life alongside our daughter! Any donations really help make a difference!

Maui Humane Society needs $2,000 for its lifesaving 4EverPets Program

Puunene, HI • Maui Humane Society

Help Us Make a Difference for Maui's Dogs! Maui Humane Society is thrilled to announce our bid for the Waggle Grant to supercharge our 4EverPets program! This vital initiative is dedicated to helping Maui's beloved pets and their families, ensuring that our furry friends stay happy, healthy, and in loving homes. About Maui Humane Society Founded in 1953, Maui Humane Society (MHS) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to animal welfare on Maui. Each year, we provide shelter, medical care, and adoption services for thousands of animals. Our mission is to protect and save the lives of Maui’s animals, accepting all in need, educating the community, and inspiring respect and compassion towards all animals. Why 4EverPets Matters The 4EverPets program is a crucial community resource for individuals on Maui facing financial hardship. It helps our ohana keep their dogs and other pets in loving homes rather than surrendering them to the shelter. Through the program, we offer: - Medical Care: Comprehensive veterinary services, including routine check-ups, low or no-cost spay/neuter appointments, vaccinations, and flea medicine. - Nutritional Support: Monthly supply of age-appropriate food for dogs and other pets. - Containment Supplies: Crates, kennels, collars, and leashes to keep pets safe. - Enrichment Supplies: Toys, scratching posts, interactive feeders, and more to enhance the mental and physical stimulation of dogs and other pets. - Relocation Support: Assistance with relocating pets, including travel advice, health certificates, vaccines, and travel kennels. **** Your Impact Since its inception in 2020, 4EverPets has distributed over 1.2 million pounds of food as well as 30,000+ non-food items, including crates, leashes, toys, and more. Within the last year, MHS enrolled more than 700 families in the 4EverPets program, helping them care for and keep 3,282 animals. We measure our success through: - Families Served: Tracking the number of community members and pets supported. - Supplies Distributed: Monitoring distribution numbers for food and non-food items. - Community Feedback: Collecting input to assess the effectiveness of our outreach and support services. **** We Still Need Your Help As Maui’s only open-intake shelter, we face a constant influx of animals in need. Our shelter is over capacity, and the 4EverPets program helps us support the community while keeping dogs and other pets with their families. With the Waggle Grant, we plan to: - Expand Services: Support more families and pets with veterinary services, food, and pet supplies. - Increase Awareness: Educate the public and expand access to care beyond our current distribution centers. - Improve Quality of Care: Ensure dogs and other pets remain in their loving homes. **** Be a Hero for Maui’s Pets The 4EverPets program is essential for ensuring every pet on Maui receives the care and love they deserve. By supporting us through the Waggle Grant, you help provide critical medical care, enhance living conditions, and keep pets in their loving homes. Together, we can create a brighter future for Maui's furry companions and their ohana. Vote for 4EverPets to protect and save Maui’s animals today! Nibbles

Nibbles is a 1-year-old Short Haired Domestic Cat in Birmingham, AL, who needs $2,000 for Hospital Stay.

Birmingham, AL

Nibbles is my eldest cat! She joined my family almost 2 years ago and she is our wild child! Always running around and causing chaos. She is friendly but can be spicy at times! She has a huge personality that shine's bright. Nibbles has become a huge part of our lives. We couldn’t imagine living without her sassiness! From the moment she walked into our home she had taken over and spread so much joy to us. She is absolutely loved and adored at home. Nibbles is so special to us as she protects us in her own ways. We consider her to be our little guard cat as she watches the door when she hears knocking, an unfamiliar voice or sees something that’s not right. She is always making us smile by running through our home and providing us so much joy. Nibbles is our wild child. She’s our eldest cat that never rests. She loves to eat and play with any toy or object she can get her paws on. Over this past week she’s been struggling to eat and has been severely dehydrated. We took her to the emergency tonight as they wanted her to stay overnight but we couldn’t afford the $1,900 bill. She needs so much care and we miss our energetic baby. I am a new grad social worker. I recently became a first generation graduate from the university of Alabama in December 2023 and I had to find a new job which meant I was unemployed for a bit. But now I’m working full time and I’m getting back on track slowly but surely.

This is Lil it we rescued him from Euthanasia 10 years because of hi medical conditions he has always had allergies his right eye runs he gets a convenient shot as often as possible allergy medication and now as he is getting older seizure medication daily yesterday he had to have surgery for an abscess on his neck and had a 105 fever Lil it loves going for walks outside though as of late he get to ride on my walker with wheels he refuses to be ignored if company comes over and heaven forbid anyone with a purse stops over he must go shopping for hair ties and anything else he might find interesting. He is the leader of our rescue animals Watching Lil it command attention from both animals and humans alike is the most precious thing he will gather all the cats in one spot and then come notify you they are ready when it's snack time. He will also announce when the dogs are at the door ready to come in from the outside. He is also leash trained which draws attention wherever he goes His issues started as a kitten with just allergies but as he has aged his issues have become more often and severe to include seizures and a tumor he gets his medication every 12 hours which he is not very fond of. The Drs at Risinger veterinary clinic have been his savior since he was just a baby he so adores them and looks forward to his visitations Since Covid I was forced into retirement and more recently my wife lost her job and we lost our vehicle but my poor Lil it still must have his medication daily

Rasta

Rasta is a 9-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Halifax, PA, who needs $2,000 for Cancer Surgery.

Halifax, PA

Rasta came into my life 9 years ago when an adorable little kitten came bounding up and wanted to share my sandwich while having lunch at a friend's house. She lived as an only child until we adopted another kitten that following spring. She loves to cuddle with our most recent addition to our family, and could often be found snuggled up to our dog. Rasta is my little heater. Every single night she sleeps on my pillow, right on top of my head, or in the curve of my hip. She's also my little alert kitty. She'll let me know if she needs food or water, if there is a bug or a bird nearby, or is she wants treats. She has a different meow for each. Just recently she caught a praying mantis nearly as big as her head! My rasta loves our newest kitty addition and they can often be found snuggling in bed together. She can usually be found hanging out wherever I am. She has a pillow at one of the kitchen chairs and will sit with me as I cook, she greets me at the door any time I come home, and she has a habit of escorting the humans in the house to and from the bathroom. Maybe she thinks we'll get lost. At first it started out as a little sore spot on her belly. I thought maybe she was having an allergic reaction or some such. I monitored her and it looked like it was improving until I found a blood spot on her favorite pillow. It had broken open so I made her an appointment at our vet, valley road animal hospital where they informed me it was a cancerous mass that would need surgery. In late 2022 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. We used most of our savings towards my own medical bills, which I'm still paying. This cat is my best friend and was with me through my toughest times. I need to do everything I can to give her many more happy years.
