Cooper

Cooper is a 14-year-old Peek a Poo in Haines City, FL, who needs $900 for Cancer Treatment.

Haines City, FL

We purchased Cooper as a puppy and he has been our constant companion ever since. He had a brother, Tucker a Shih Tzu for 12 years and a sister, Marley, a lab mix who we had for 6 years, both rescues who he loved dearly. He now has two sisters both lab mix rescues. Cooper loves his 3 human siblings and his little nieces who give him unlimited hugs. His tail wags like crazy when they visit. Cooper is crate trained but sleeps with us, he curls up right behind my knees or against my back, he's a momma's boy. He lets his much bigger sisters (lab mixes) know mom is his cuddle buddy and they comply. My husband wont admit it but Cooper is his little buddy. Cooper rules the house but is a gentle little guy. He thinks he's a big dog, has no fear but wouldn't hurt a fly. Cooper has been my constant for the past 14 years and I pray he has 14 more. You can tell its not his time, he still bounces around like he is a puppy. I call Cooper my little Diva, he lets you know he's here...if you are not paying attention to him he makes his presence know. After the groomers he knows he looks good and struts out with his little" look at me, I look good" swagger. Cooper was doing great with no issues until he started losing weight and we discovered a lump on his thyroid. We were told by an emergency vet we should put him down. It wasn't his time, his vets at Orchid Springs agreed and found Animal Cancer Care Clinic. Once on thyroid and heart meds he bounced back and we started a chemo regiment, he is responding well thanks to his team of vets who care. We had a small emergency fund, now empty and have charged Coopers care since April, Cooper is my world. Cooper is family and he gets the same medical care as any family member. He will be on Thyroid/Heart meds for the rest of his life, just need him to be cancer free.

Photo of Khaleesi

Khaleesi

Khaleesi is a 7-year-old American Short Hair Cat in Margate, FL, who needs $1,200 for Chemotherapy Injections 2x over 6 Weeks.

Margate, FL

Khaleesi (named inspired by the Dragon Queen Game of Throne character, meaning "queen" or strong woman in Dathraki) is our second rescue adoption from The Humane Society. She has one cat brother (also adopted) and two human brothers, 11 and 17. Khaleesi has been part of our family for 6+ years. She is incredibly sweet but can be very strong-willed (name fits). It took awhile for her to trust everyone in the house. At first, she was always attached to Dad's hip and even would follow him around the house. With time, she has become close with everyone in the family and has become trusting of humans. She is absolutely obsessed with food. If you are eating, look out! She will beg, bother, whine, yell, and even steal your food if you aren't looking. Khaleesi has nasal cancer with a mass growing in her sinus cavity. She was diagnosed and under care of Pompano Oncology. We also had consultation at Fort Lauderdale Cancer Center. The best treatment would be SRT radiation treatment but we can't afford to spend $8,000-$12,000. The next option would be chemotherapy, but it will cost $300-$500 per treatment. Right now, we are doing palliative care. With terrible timing, our family just had an unexpected job loss from layoff and two of us having to have surgeries this year. We are praying for enough to help Khaleesi get a couple treatments of chemo while we get finances back on track.

Photo of Dabo Weenie

Dabo Weenie

Dabo Weenie is a 7-year-old American Pitbull in Seneca, SC, who needs $1,000 for Heartworm.

Seneca, SC

This is Dabo Weenie, he's the love of my life. He is more in touch with my emotions and feelings than any person I've ever. He has piercing eyes that can see straight into the soul. Dabo makes me want to be a better person. He's super smart and he remembers everything you tell him. So if you tell him you're bringing him a toy from the store, you better have one when you walkthrough the door To date I think we have gone through maybe seven or eight Nerf ball launchers. That is Dabo's favorite thing to do and mine too! He has his own toy box full of squeak squeaks and he loves each and every one of them. It doesn't matter how much the toy cost as long as it has a mommy or daddy on the other end playing with him Dava loves the summertime. He loves to go swimming and has his own life jacket. If you tell him that he's going to the water he does exactly what that means and he gets so excited. If you tell him you're going to take him out then he will follow you around until you get out the door. He is not an all patient when it comes to play time Dabo went to the nail salon the other day but came back with horrible news. He has heartworms. I have only myself to blame. We switched from the flea pill to the flea collar and heartworm preventative just slipped my mind because it is a preventable condition I'm having trouble getting grants from other resources. The veterinary hospital said the treatment cost around $1,000 Long story short we have no savings as with everybody in America, and poor credit. Losing my baby is not an option. I can imagine life without him,he's my angel. Plus they need him coaching the team next season!

Photo of Layla

Layla

Layla is a 7-year-old Chihuahua Mix in Meriden, CT, who needs $2,000 for CCNU (Chemotherapy).

Meriden, CT

Layla has been with me through every major milestone and been my partner through the years. Due to her cancer, Layla has had to deal with nausea, vomiting, pain, diarrhea, and lack of appetite the past few months. Since starting chemo she has regained her appetite & energy. We don't know how much time we have left with her, but we hope to give her the best quality of life possible and best chance. Layla has been the older sister to our dog Oso, cat Camilo, and late rabbit Oreo. She is the life of the house, with snuggling and neighborhood watch being her favorite pastimes. She is indecisive when it comes to sleeping, so she will wake up in the middle of the night and make sure she spends a few hours with each of us every night. Layla is a courageous and loving member of our family. Despite her worsening health, Layla's personality continues to shine. She's a huge fan of belly rubs even following the invasive stomach surgery she had last month. Upon arrival, Layla will come to greet you at the door with any scrap of food she can find, usually a piece of tortilla. She'll perform a wiggle and show off her tortilla to everyone before going outside to be the neighborhood watch. Layla was diagnosed with an aggressive, high-grade lymphoblastic lymphoma last month following months of diagnostic exams. After the initial discovery of her stomach mass, Layla underwent an endoscopic biopsy and fine needle aspiration without success. Due to the complex area of her tumor an invasive surgery had to be performed which was not able to remove the mass, but at least offer a diagnosis. Layla has begun her first round of chemo. Seeing her quality of life improve has meant the world to us, but I am no longer able to keep up with her amassing bills. Between her primary vet, surgeon, and specialist I am afraid I won't be able to continue chemo.

Photo of JayCee

JayCee

JayCee is a 2-year-old Bloodhound/Shepherd Mix in Seaford, DE, who needs $2,000 for Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation.

Seaford, DE

I saved JayCee from a person that was beating her to death. She’s been with me since 12/25/20. We lived in a homeless hotel until last November when we got an apartment through Delaware Housing Authority. She has plenty of room to run if she could. I got her when she was 4 1/2 months old. She’ll be 3 on 8/16/23. She’s made an impact on everyone she has met. She reminds me of my son so much. This is my best friend and companion. She’s 2 1/2 years old and loves everyone. She’s an ESA dog and is named after my son who I list 6 months before I got her. If it wasn’t for JayCee, I wouldn’t be here today. She loves to play with my grandkids, other dogs, and even cats. She is special to everyone in my family especially my oldest grandson. She loves to run and play. JayCee can and does make me and other people happy. She picks up on anxiety and cuddles with you when you’re having a rough day. She loves to make you laugh by being silly or bringing one of her toys to play. When we were homeless, she touched everyone she met by her loving way. She can calm you in a second by her gentleness. She is very special, smart and loving. JayCee has a torn ligament in her hind leg. She has to have a consultation which costs between $300-$400 for the exam and X-rays. She will have to go through rehabilitation after the $4500-$5500 surgery. She’s been on pain medication for the past two weeks. I’m on disability and I don’t make much. To have JayCee well and not in pain will mean the world to me. I can’t lose her. I’ve already lost a son, who is JayCee’s namesake. She’s the only reason I’m still here. She’s been here for me when no one else was.

Beauty

Beauty is a 8-year-old Domestic Calico Shorthaired Cat in Glassport , PA, who needs $610 for Pyometra Treatment.

Glassport, PA

Beauty has been a cat that I've had for only about 2 years but before she came into my life she belonged to my daughter my daughter was not able to take her when she moved so I adopted her when I adopted her I did not know that she was pregnant she became a fun loving mother of four kittens One kitten however still remains with her and he is now about to be a year old. Beauty is a fun loving a mama cat she rules the roost, she's the queen bee of the house, she loves to cuddle she takes care of other kittens, she's a good mom. She still has her son who also lives with us and he's about to be a year old and she still takes care of him anytime she hears a kitten meow she goes running to try to find it. Beauty is the type of cat who knows when you're sad and tries to cuddle with you she tries to make you feel better she's a fun loving member of our family she kind of got the characteristics of a female Garfield cat her favorite pastime is chasing toys and playing with the laser she loves to eat sleep and cuddle. Unexpectedly one day I see that she wasn't feeling so well I also seen that she was leaving behind little spots I thought maybe she was pregnant in the spots were just coming from her woman areas come to find out she's diagnosed with pyometra. Which is an uterus disease.. she has been on antibiotics but is in need of surgery the surgery will ultimately be her cure without it she will die. What they diagnosed her with is a rare condition that older female cats can end up with. I was unaware that the procedure would cost so much. After losing my job after I caught covid I now only work part-time and I'm unable to afford the whole cost of the surgery.

Photo of Fraya

Fraya

Fraya is a 3-year-old Corgsky in Philadelphia, PA, who needs $2,000 for Bilateral MPL Surgery + Diagnostics.

Philadelphia, PA

Fraya is a 2-5 year old corgi-husky mix who was rescued from Texas last year. She was originally scheduled for euthanasia before being rescued from the local shelter. She's had quite the healthcare journey since, accruing 2 vets, 3 second opinions, 3 conditions, and (soon to be,) $8k + in medical and wellness bills. Despite these hurdles, Fraya is an absolute joy and the light of the household. Fraya is my sole roommate and family away from home (I am an East Coast transplant). She has joined me camping, hiking, beaching, and shopping, and has become my little shadow. I recently hosted a "Fray-a-Day" Holiday Soiree in which my friends and I raised $2k for last year's pre-surgical costs and diagnostics. Fraya is well-loved and recognized in the Philly community. Fraya has been described as the "ultimate personality" by everyone that knows her. She loves to say "hi" to everyone in her path, and has a series of quirks including: lounging on her back with feet in the air, engaging in grumpy morning awoos, stealing and hoarding the best ball at the dog park, and unintentionally scaring children for looking like a "very smol wolf." Fraya needs costly specialty orthopedic surgery and was denied by insurance due to her condition being labeled a pre-existing “birth defect”. In addition, she’s allergic to most everything in dog food and was denied coverage for prescription food due having a related infection she was being treated for pre-adoption. Her journey has been timely, expensive, and stressful. I am 100% financially independent and have sick/elderly parents across the country. I am chronically ill myself and pay an average of $3k/yr out of pocket for healthcare. Funding Fraya's surgery means more $ to see and help my family, board Fraya, and afford my own care.
