Damu

Damu is a 1-year-old German Shepherd in Minneapolis, MN, who needs $2,000 for Femur Fracture Repair.

Minneapolis, MN

Damu was a gift, given to me on the Fourth of July in 2021, just shortly after my daughter found out she was going to be blessing me with a Grandbaby. My family is very close knit, and Damu took a special interest in my Grandchild before he was even born. Now that he's here, they are the best of friends. We live in a home in Minneapolis, MN. Damu isn't 'just a dog', he's a member of our family. He's very social and loves the open door policy that comes with having family member close enough to stop in at random. He loves everyone, young, old, and everything in between, though he is especially fond of my six month old grandson. I think he would be happy if he could just kiss the baby all day every day. Damu, being a King German Shepherd, can look so naturally regal-but he's a goof at heart, and I love when that comes out in his facial expressions when he's playing and having fun. He has had a special place in my heart since day one, but at a mother and grandmother, I am so appreciative of the love that he has for those I hold dear as well. Damu was lured out of my yard on the morning of Monday, August 29th by a complete stranger. This man then shot Damu at least three times, twice in his rear left leg, breaking his femur, and at least once in the head. Thankfully the bullet didn't pierce his skull, but there were fragments embedded in his skull. He's being treated at Mission Animal Hospital, by Dr. Ashley. When Damu was given to me, it was my hope to have him certified as my service animal as I have extensive medical issues. Because of my medical conditions, I am unemployed. It would mean the world to me to see Damu healthy and not in pain anymore. He didn't deserve this.

Oreo

Oreo is a 6-year-old Mix in Huntsville, AL, who needs $400 for Cadet Braf Test.

Huntsville, AL

Oreo is a rescue dog who was adopted in Georgia by her two loving pet parents just after they married in 2018. When she was brought home from the humane society, she was emaciated, skittish, and would not let anyone near her. She currently lives in Alabama with her brother, Gizmo, and is no longer afraid of humans. Oreo is a snuggle bug. If you are lounging on the couch after a long day of work, she is right there in your lap or at your feet. If humans are busy, her brother makes a nice pillow in the mean time. When she gets bursts of energy, she’ll grab a toy and either bring it to you or entice her brother to play tug-of-war with her! Oreo is very special to us because she was truly our first baby. We watched her grow from a shelter dog to what a dog is supposed to be. When she was first brought home, she stayed voluntarily in her crate for four days before braving the outside of it. Now, if you pretend you don’t see her she will whine and paw at you until you give her belly scratches! Oreo has suffered from something unknown ever since we got her. Over the years, we have had urinalysis’s, X-rays, and other extensive testing done after noticing that she was peeing blood. The next steps in the process are to do a procedure to test for TCC - a type of bladder cancer. This test costs $400+ and, unfortunately, we are struggling to make ends meet as it is. We just want to make sure we have done everything in our power to make sure Oreo is healthy, taken care of, and not in pain. We simply cannot afford any more big expenses like this.:(

Booker

Booker is a 7-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Shelbyville , TN, who needs $650 for Periodontal Surgery/Extractions.

Shelbyville, TN

We rescued Booker from our local animal shelter. We had recently lost our first all grey cat and my husband had been wanting a new grey kitty. We waited until we saw Booker. He's been a perfect fit for our rag tag band of animals. Booker shares his home with 3 other cats, two dogs, a bird, and 3 humans. Booker is a very friendly cat, but his heart truly belongs to my husband. While he is the quietest of all the animals he will demand love with a firm bump of his head. He will crawl onto my husband's chest and sleep there for hours. He LOVES treats and will not eat any treats unless he's on his kitchen chair. Booker has mastered the well known art of silently judging their owners. He's also known to throw a great "cat party" whenever we go out. (He always looks guilty of being up to no good lol). He loves lying in the grass in the back yard and being chased around the yard when it's time to go back in. He is such a bright light to our family. Booker has dental disease. He is now at the point where we need to move onto to extractions to protect his overall health. He is having difficulty eating and is having secondary infections. The situation is urgent and he needs help. He is being treated at Northpoint Animal Hospital. We are a hardworking family. Recent emergency home repairs have taken our savings. Booker is so important to our family. He is my husband's best feline friend and we want him with us as long as possible.

Molly

Molly is a 14-year-old American Shorthair Cat in Syracuse, NY, who needs $1,675 for Amputation.

Syracuse, NY

Molly was a rescue who came to us almost 14 yrs ago. She has always been an indoor cat. She has gone in back yard few times at our old house on Long Island. She now lives in an apt in Syracuse with her human mom who moved there in 6 months ago. Her & her partner Dublin Are inseparable. In the last month she lost a fur sissy to illness and her dog brother Dale who was her BFF. She chases Dublin around, she sleeps with him during the day. At night she is on moms lap or in bed with her. She loves everyone in the house but can be very shy at times. She Is very vocal when she wants a treat or to be fed. She loves when her treat is tuna fish or chicken!!! She tried to sneak a lick of your ice cream sometimes too! She is never to far from her brother. They clean each other, chase toys around the house and nap in the sun. She loves to sit at the glass doors and watch the birds at the feeders. She is such. Sweet girl. She is my little fur girl and we love her so much. She treated her dog like he was a cat. Licking and rubbing him and sleeping with him sometimes. Molly has been a very healthy cat her whole life. Couple months ago I thought she had an abscess on front paw. The vet took a biopsy and turns it is cancer. She had X-ray to see if it had spread and it has not. Because of location cutting it out isn’t an option. Only choice is amputation or euthanasia. after her diagnosis, i lost a cat from illness. Then 2 wks later Lost our dog 14 yrs from longterm illness. Ive spent 2k + on my animals since Jan. Im partially disabled & limited income. I dont want to put my otherwise healthy cat down bc I can’t afford her surgery.

Gracie

Gracie is a 9-year-old Short-haired tabby Cat in Utica, MI, who needs $300 for Feline leukimia test and vaccinations.

Utica, MI

Gracie's mother was hit by a car while out on my morning run I brought gracie home with me got her cleaned up gave her formula and got her litter trained and food trained and she has been an absolute joy to me but because I don't know anything about her mother or her history I need to get her feline leukimia tested and I need to get her vaccinated if anyone can help please donate She loves to cuddle with myself and my daughter she loves playing with her toys and chasing a ball is her favorite thing to do she also loves to Watch TV and land on the couch under a blanket She loves to look out the window at birds and lay in the sun by the back door and have squirrels come to the door and tease them She is a big talker she loves to tell all kinds of stories in the mornings and she will lay on your chest and purr all day if you let her she also loves to jump in the bathtub with water in it and take baths she drinks water from the faucet if you leave it running and she loves her wet food and lickable treats I am looking to get help for her first round of shots and make sure she does not have feline leukimia. I was going to take her to all about animals rescue for the shots and testing so the cost was a lite cheaper then going to a regular vets office as they are a rescue they do charge less and the money goes to rescues When covid hit I was let go from my job and now I am facing some medical issues as well but i just want to make sure she is healthy because she brings so much happiness

Blue

Blue is a 4-year-old Mixed Breed Dog in Brick, NJ, who needs $2,000 for CCL.

Brick, NJ

I am a single dad who considers Blue my son. He has been my Guardian Angel for the past 4 1/2 years. I adopted blue when he was 6 weeks old and has brought nothing but joy to me and everyone that has met him. I have PTSD and Blue is my service dog. He knows when I am having "episodes" and alerts me or wakes me with a gentle paw on my arm. Blue has free roam of my house/apartment. He is kind to people and animals alike. Very loving and always greets anyone with a smile. Not a mean bone in his body. When we go to the Dog Park, he is the highlight of the hour:) With so many dogs running and playing, sometimes the little dogs get bumped or roughed. But not when Blue is there. He puts his 100 lb body between the other dogs to protect. His nickname is Chewbaka because he tries to talk and communicate:) The sounds he makes sound like Chewbaka from Star Wars. The other thing that I enjoy is when its time for a walk. He gets his leash, brings it to me, then after it is one he grabs the handle in his mouth and geads out the door. He thinks he is walking himself LOL My baby boy is in so much pain. He has a torn ACL and needs an operation to fix. Sometimes the pain is so much that he cries to me as for me to make it stop hurting and it breaks my heart, Im suppose to be his protector and I feel so helpless. I just lay on the floor next to him and cuddle/sooth him until we both fall asleep. I was a Co-Owner of a small Limo service until it was forced to close due to pandemic. My meager salary barely pays the bills if lucky. My poor dog should not suffer because of my losses. I called every Emergency Vet and NONE will accept payments and I was denied CareCredit

rex

Rex is an 11-year-old Chihuahua in Columbus, OH, who needs $550 for ultrasound, antibiotics and supplements.

Columbus, OH

Rex has been with us since he was a puppy, hes now almost 12 and has lived a happy life and has always been a bundle of energy. He lives with me and my 2 kids and loves to follow me everywhere i go. We lived in 3 bedroom house and now in small apartment but hes a tiny dog and the world is his playground. Rex likes outside and we go for walks and he likes to sit in the doorway when the suns out. He loves us and we love him. Rex is certainly a mamas boy and goes where I go. My kids are 15 and 9 and he likes to play with them and greets us at the door with his toys and runs around when them even after hes noticed. Rex is special because hes rex. He is my first dog and we have been through a lot together. We went thru a bad relationship together and went from living in a house to a small apartment but hes still happy and still is wherever i go. Even when I got to the bathroom or shower hes next to the tub laying. With covid and the cost of everything going up this year it has been hard for me to pay bills and groceries, we do not get any govt help so its all paycheck to paycheck. As hes getting older hes gotten more sore joints and its been harder for him to walk and jump, though hes still always happy to see us when we get home. Rex has been in alot of pain with his joints and back and has not been able to go upstairs or jump on the bed or couch so we went to the vet, 200$ later we got him meds, but his liver enzymes are high and they are mentioning doing an ultrasound and antibiotics and more

Neo

Neo is a Ragdoll in Kent, WA, who needs $2,000 for repair of femur.

Kent, WA

Neo was born in Oregon. He came up to Washington at the age of 7 weeks. He's very loving and currently resides as a single pet in a one bedroom apartment. He was named Neo after the Matrix character! He meets people on a daily basis, and is very well-socialized. He's only an indoor kitten, but is sometimes taken outside with a harness to explore. Neo is a very social and loving kitten who follows everyone around and loves to play. He's the opposite of shy. He's always very gentle and keeps away his claws. He loves playing with feathers and has tons of energy. He loves to sleep on the bed, and is definitely also a lap cat. He won't resist at all if you hold him. Neo is really special. I've never met a cat that is so patient and loving towards everyone. He looks like a kitten, but has the personality of a loyal puppy. He is so smart too - and understands immediately when I cue him. He sees the best in all people, and trusts that everyone only wants the best for him. Unfortunately Neo encountered a traumatic injury to his hip. His femur broke in half at the head, and is now separated out of the acetabulum. He requires either a repair or salvage surgery, meaning that they will either pin it back in place or remove the broken bone to create a "false joint" out of scar tissue. He's been treated at the Blue Pearl Veterinary Hospital so far, and is on cage rest. I recently had financial hardship due to moving to a brand new apartment, recently paying for adoption fees/vaccinations, and not working for a month temporarily. I do not have pet insurance, so it would mean a lot to have support, especially since Neo is young.

Maybach

Maybach is a 2-year-old Poodle Mix in Middletown, NY, who needs $2,000 for Immunosuppressive medication.

Middletown, NY

Our pride and joy, we named Maybach. My partner and I rescued Maybach when he was only 3 months old. At the time, he was in living in poor conditions where he ate nothing but adult hard kibble and was covered with fleas and worms. Due to personal circumstances, I will not add any information regarding his previous caretaker. The moment I seen this poor beautiful animal, I knew we saved him. When we tell you our Maybach is spoiled, we mean ROTTEN! He is our sunshine of our days. Maybach craves and thrives off attention, he will always tell you what he wants and when he wants it. He can get along great with other dogs, but he will let them know who is the star in the room! Maybach loves to endlessly play with his toys, he will never get tired. He adores being around kids, he is a pupper! With life, comes obstacles. Through those times and ongoing, Maybach has always been the highlight in our days. From worst days to best. He will always come to comfort us whenever we’re sad, he’ll hug us and helps lick our tears away. You can say he’s an ESA and even he likes to think so too. From his wolf mimic howl, to his high energy antics, he always keep you on your toes. This past August, our sweet boy was likely diagnosed with idiopathic encephalitis. Due to his auto immune disease, there is no underlying cause behind this disease. Unfortunately, there isn’t any cure for his particular condition, only reduce the severity of the symptoms and stop the condition from worsening. He was seen at Guardian Veterinary Hospital in Brewster, NY where he was treated. With everything going on in the world, today, it can be challenging staying up to date with bills and expenses. I’m very humbled to share my baby’s story with all of you. Maybachs means the world to us and he deserves to live a beautiful life as a dog. Thank you.
