My daughter found this kitten when it was very small. We have many stray cats in the our area, and sadly we see many on the side of the road. We have a house full with 5 kids, 2 adults, 3 dogs and a cat. Kaylee has always wanted to help animals, and she has tried her best to nurse this animal back to health. We never realized the problem was so serious. Midnight used to be energetic and full of energy, would venture out and interact with the whole family until her leg got worse. Now we rarely ever see her out of her room. She most of the time now and hides under the bed to be away from everything. She is obviously in distress and she is such a sweet animal. COVID 19 has hit us hard. We run a family owned and operated business, but with many customers choosing to isolate many were lost. We are just now catching up with bills when we get this horrible news The cat has developed necrosis of the left humerus head. There is little solid bone mass in the distal humerus at this point but the clavicle has not yet been infected. The origin is unknown and the vet at the Jarrell Animal Hospital says they will only know the cause of the necrosis after sending the detached limb to the lab for analysis. This is Kaylee's baby. Her room is Kaylee's room. They glow when they are together, and it is a beautiful thing to see. They sleep together, eat together, and bath together when the cat can stand it. Kaylee always has scratches from playing games with the cat. When she saw the x-rays and heard what the doctor said she broke into tears and is determined to help her kitty.

Chowder

We adopted Chowder (had hernia & needed surgery) when he was 4 months. He enjoys being with the family, follows us around, snuggles near us when we’re in distress. He is very considerate, never complains. He patiently and quietly waits at the door when he needs to potty. He doesn’t whine when he’s in need, I often check when he’s out of sight to make sure he’s OK! We are grateful to have Chowder. Chowder’s “passion” towards food makes us laugh. He would swallow any edible/inedible things. Once he found Advils in our backpack & ate them all! Thank God we found out soon enough to save him. Since then, we put food and any other items up high so it’s unreachable. The one and only one food he would spit out is...celery. It makes us laugh to see his disgusted look when given celery! I work for people with disabilities and am unemployed due to Covid so I can’t afford to treat Chowder. We considered euthanizing, but he shows an intent to live. I plead for your support to help Chowder be well. I’ve never asked for financial help publicly. This is my VERY 1ST TIME. Chowder has squamous cell carcinoma (oral cancer). Dr. Kiselow at Sage Center confirmed that Chowder would suffer significantly, couldn’t eat, be in severe pain, and die in two months. Radiation treatment is the only option that can save him as the tumor location is inoperable. Without treatment, in 2 months he’ll suffer and eventually die. I cry everyday when I think of that. Chowder tilts his head & looks puzzled when he wonders and, sadly now, when in pain. He’s a clueless/innocent dog who doesn’t know to worry. His gaze tells you that he totally trusts you, which touches my heart. Chowder jumps excitedly when he eats. He used to enjoy playing fetch but now with the oral tumor, he catches the toy with joy, then drops it as it’s too painful to play (It breaks my heart).

Thunder

I found Thunder at my local animal shelter as a kitten, I picked him up he nestled into my chest and started purring and I fell in love with him immediately. Over the last year and a half the bond we’ve created is unmatched. He greets me with a meow at the door every day I come home, he sleeps on his pillow next to my head every night. He is my best friend. Thunder has a condition called physeal dysplasia. 04/27 I came home from work and he was not at the door to greet me he wouldn’t get up and any time I tried to pick him up he cried loudly. I rushed him to veterinary emergency group where they did X-rays and found out both his growth plates in his hind legs where his femur connected to his hips fractured. Thunder is an extremely talkative boy he will shout from wherever he is to find me in the house. He runs to the door every time I come home from being gone. Him and my other cat “Kat” are best friends they sit in the window watching the birds and chase eachother around the house at all hours. He walks around with his favorite Pom Pom or mouse when he wants to play and will even fetch his Pom poms! I recently had to have unexpected dental work done costing me $3,000 this month, I make $30,000 a year with a plan to go back to school in the fall, I don’t have a partner so only one fixed income.

Mr Sir Otis

So Otis came to me via a friend with other kittens. He went to a foster but one day I got a call from our local shelter saying one of my cats was there. I was confused because I don't let my cats out. I went the next day to get Otis. This so called rescuer even dumped a Greyhound there and I called a rescue and they got him out. I took Otis home and he has been with me ever since. Otis got an ultrasound and there is a mass in his intestines. He needs a CT Scan and if it hasn't spread he would be a candidate for the Torigen immunotherapy treatment which has worked for my friends cat. Otis is a sweet little man. He follows me everywhere, he comes to me when I call him, he waits for me by the door, he sleeps with me every night. He is my best friend and constant companion. He is family. I have lost 2 other cats to cancer in the last 5 months, I don't want to lose Otis. I had to pay for 2 other cats treatments who had cancer in the last 5 months. It was expensive and it has depleted my funds and I am not eligible to take out a loan against my retirement funds.

An Almighty is a 10-month old shy American shorthair cat living that lived with two cat roommates at Seattle Humane Society before adoption to a forever home. Prior to being at Seattle Humane Society, he was rescued by Feisty Feline Trap-Neuter-Return. An is tested positive for feline leukemia FELV and severe disease Infectious Peritonitis FIP caused by feline coronavirus. He’s been seen, diagnosed and treated at Seattle Humane Veterinary Services and Urban Animal clinic for respiratory infections. Despite being awfully sick, An Almighty has been such a champ for not hiding in a corner or in dark small closet space. He’s remained steadfastly by going to vets visits, been given subcutaneous fluids and medicine as well as eating and drinking more when he would have appetite or a tiny bit more strength to do so. Even though An Almighty was adopted for about two months, he’s been slow and steady in his treatments and recovery. He would either go sit by window, play with toys or walk and sniff around the house or ask to be fed more. He likes to play hunting.

Alfie is a beautiful soul we adopted a year and a half ago. We were originally looking for a kitten and had no intention in adopting an adult cat. However, he quickly changed our minds. He had the cutest cheeks and friendliest personality. We knew we had to bring him home. Alfie bonded quickly with the entire household, including his kitty sister, Pippa. He was the best decision we ever made. Recently, our lives were turned upside down when Alfie was diagnosed with a large bladder stone that requires surgical removal. Prolonging treatment risks painful urinary obstruction, which can be deadly. To make things even more difficult, he also has HCM, a heart condition that requires specialized care. The estimated cost of surgery at VCA Loomis Basin Veterinary Specialists is around $8000. Alfie adores music and loves to lie by the piano while it's being played in our home. He is also very patient—even with the tiniest of little humans who are far from gentle. He doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. Everyone who comes in contact with him comments on his confident and friendly demeanor. Meeting Alfie has inspired so many of our friends and family to get cats of their own. We are a low-income family made up of two young kids and two student-parents working hard to better our lives. We have used most of our savings on vet bills, and taking on thousands of dollars in debt simply isn't something our family can realistically manage.

Despite also managing a CCL tear, he remains active, enjoys daily walks, naps with Solo, and receives attentive home care. Lando, my 10-year-old Boxer/Bulldog mix, is receiving treatment at the Animal Cancer Center of the Woodlands. He recently completed 13 weeks of CHOP chemotherapy for T-cell lymphoma and is currently in remission. In addition, he is managing a CCL tear with medication and controlled exercise. His regular veterinary care is provided by Foster Creek Veterinary Hospital for ongoing support. Lando is special because he has shown incredible resilience and joy despite many challenges. Rescued after surviving a gunshot wound, he continues to live with love, strength, and playfulness. Even while battling lymphoma and a CCL tear, he greets each day with tail wags, cuddles, and curiosity, inspiring everyone around him with his bravery and unshakable spirit. My goddaughter called and said that she had a French bulldog that needed a Mom. I wasn't expecting a connection with him because I've always had big dogs but I went to meet him anyway. Aww, that little dog with the big dog attitude won me over big time in only a few days. He never does anything wrong in my eyes! I took Beaux to his vet in August with what looked like an ear infection. The DR said that Beaux did not have an ear infection but a UTI. Two days later we were rushing him back with what looked like a stroke. Dr said that Beaux did not have a stroke but rather the neurological symptoms were from an middle ear infection. Surgery was recommended but we could try a more conservative approach with medication. Beaux has relapsed. Beaux goes everywhere with me. He literally takes every step that I do. Im a caregiver and I even take him with me to work everyday. If you see me you see him. I should add that I'm a trauma survivor who was diagnosed with complex PTSD and was in treatment for over twenty years. Beaux is not just my comfort, joy and love, he's my touchstone. I'm so scared. He is such a Love and so very loved by all of us! I'm a senior who's daughter moved back home with health problems a few years ago. She has no health insurance. I've been getting her the help that she needs and now this emergency with my precious Beaux. The expenses have been catastrophic for me.
