Double Diagnosis, One Second Chance: Help Celisse Save Her Sight and Beat Heartworm

Lauderhill, FL • Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc.

Meet Celisse, a beautiful four-year-old dog whose journey to a better life is only just beginning. Shortly after her rescue, Celisse was diagnosed with heartworm disease —a serious and potentially life-threatening condition that requires prompt treatment to prevent permanent damage to her heart and lungs. As if that weren't enough, she is also suffering from a painful eye condition that requires evaluation by a veterinary ophthalmologist to determine the best course of treatment and help preserve her vision. Time is critical. The sooner Celisse can begin heartworm treatment and receive specialized care for her eye, the better her chances of making a full recovery and living the happy, healthy life she deserves. Celisse's story is especially meaningful to our rescue. Her father, Glen, is still waiting for his own chance at a forever home in the shelter, and we previously transferred her mother to one of our partner organizations. Now it's Celisse's turn to break the cycle and finally experience the love and security every dog deserves. Despite everything she's facing, Celisse remains incredibly sweet and hopeful. She greets everyone she meets with a gentle spirit, never letting her medical challenges define her. She has already overcome so much just by making it out of the shelter, and now she needs our help to take the next step toward a brighter future. Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation is committed to giving Celisse every opportunity to heal, but the costs of specialty ophthalmology care, heartworm treatment, diagnostics, medications, and follow-up appointments add up quickly. 💜 You can be part of Celisse's second chance. Every tax-deductible donation, no matter the amount, helps provide the lifesaving veterinary care she urgently needs. If you're unable to donate, sharing her fundraiser with your family and friends is another wonderful way to make a difference. Thank you for supporting Celisse and helping Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation continue saying "yes" to dogs who need them most. Together, we can give Celisse the healthy future she's been waiting for. 🐾

Luna

Luna is a 7 year old Australian Cattle Dog in Brownsburg , IN, who needs $2,000 for Exam and Potential Emergency Procedure.

Brownsburg, IN

Have you ever gone with someone to get a dog for them only to end up up getting one for yourself? This is what happened with our dog Luna. I went to get a pup with my mom, and I saw Luna and my son and I just had to have her. A dog never comes into your life by accident, every dog has a purpose/ and story. Luna has been my companion and best friend, especially since my son is now older. Luna has been dealing with some issues lately of not being able to keep food down. She wants to eat but then after doing so she ends up getting sick. She also is having some bowel issues. I am disabled and on a fixed income and I really want to get her checked out. When I can afford it I'm taking her to Noah's animal hospital on crawfordsville road. I'm just hoping that my best friend is okay. Luna is our very first Australian cattle dog. She has so many funny behaviors like her different barks, The way she digs and rolls and rubs her face after eating. She definitely is a one person dog but she has bonded with my son even though she mainly is my dog. Luna has been with me through ups and downs, but she never wavers. After all the times she's been there for me I want to be there for her My pressing financial need is I'm on disability income which is a very fixed income. Next to paying my bills and buying food they're really isn't enough money to be able to help my dog. I love my dog and I want to see her live her best life. She gives so much to me.

Creedy

Creedy is a 4 year old American Shorthair in University place, WA, who needs $3,700 for Cystotomy.

University place, WA

Creedy is this boy’s nickname. Named after Kree'arra, a hard-to-kill boss in RuneScape, this guy needs his army to help him defend against attack. Creedy came to us through a friend who was unable to provide the care he needed. At the time, he seemed in good health. Little did we know how much help he would actually need, and we are unable to afford his care on our own. Creedy urgently needs several bladder stones removed to prevent a blockage in his urinary tract (a life-threatening emergency). We took him to the vet originally for a checkup and learned of the stones. They prescribed a fancy diet to help prevent further stone development. We thought he was on the road to recovery, but soon after, he started peeing blood, became wobbly, and started falling over. Creedy is THE SWEETEST boy. His passions in life are licking your face and chewing fingers. I swear his tongue is made of blades. He loves everyone, greeting them by rolling over and showing his belly with a BIIIIIG stretch. We joke that he’s on a waitlist for a brain cell, but what he lacks in smarts, he makes up for in pure love. You’ll never leave his side without feeling loved. We simply don’t have the funds to pay for surgery. CareCredit is an option, but we can’t afford the financial burden of that large of a monthly payment. He is a part of our family now, and losing him would be devastating. Help us keep Creedy alive and with us!

Zeus

Zeus is a 6 month old Mix-Breed in Fresno, CA, who needs $2,000 for Lab Work, X-rays, and Tests.

Fresno, CA

In December 2025 my children and I rescued Zeus and his brother from the Animal shelter. He was only 8 weeks old. My son fell inlove with Zeus, his beautiful big blue eyes and energetic energy. We couldn't resist. We have had Zeus for 8months now. Hes growing everyday. He is so sweet, fun and loving puppy. Lab work is about $400 and Vet believe he can have medical issue with his heart or liver. Zeus had a surgery in February 2026. Zeus was having issues with bowel movements. One day the kids and I notice Zeus stomach was begining to enlarge. His stomach began to expand about 3 months ago.. i barely had enough money to take him to the vet last week. The vet stated that his condition didnt look to well and that his gums are pale and his belly is filled with fluid. He was born with this. Zeus is one of a kind, he is sweet, caring, playful, gentle and protective. We have had him since he was 2 months old. My 10 year old son saved Zeus from the shelter. It breaks our hearts to know that Zeus is not well. My sons heart is breaking with the thought of possibly losing his best pal and not being able to provide the care Zeus needs.. My son has even offered to collect cans or work I paid for his recent surgery in February that was $2,000 it was all my saved money. I am struggling and my son really loves his doggie. The family loves Zeus, it breaks my heart that I am financially struggling and I can not provide the care Zeus need to help him survive.

Romeo Soul

Romeo Soul is a 11 year old Chihuahua in Grand Prairie, TX, who needs $2,334 for Dental with Extractions, Vaccines, and Heartworm Check.

Grand Prairie, TX

12/2015, I adopted this cute Chihuahua. He was 4 months. I named him Romeo Soul. He now has a big sister, 15, and a brother, 8. They are perfect together. He tugs my heart strings and sweeps me off my feet. He's got a stagger like John Wayne and rides on my shoulder on car rides. He is my ESA and heals me in ways I never thought possible. We even had matching eye patches! My blessing. I haven't afforded regular dentals so at LOW COST PET VET, IRVING, TX the Dr. says the infection will go away when all teeth are gone. That will cost $1954- $2334 with vaccines and heartworm chk. He's always been in good health. If we can remove the teeth he can get off all the meds and we can enjoy life together for quite some time to come. I wish I could give him more. Romeo runs from nail trims or sweater time even with Medial Patellar Luxation. He loves treats and I taught him to sit, shake, and lay down for his Dentastix. But he can't have them right[ now unless they are heated up. His favorite spot is cuddled up with Mama under a blanket. The past few years have been very rough. If not for him, I truly don't know where I'd be. Always been a people pup. I am on a very limited income and going through a divorce, as well as trying to get into our own place so we can all be happy and healthy. Trying to leave a DV roommate. My little family needs our sweetest & friendliest Romeo to be well again so he isn't in constant pain.
