When rescuers received a call about a small dog limping through the streets, they feared the worst—that he had been struck by a vehicle and urgently needed help. But when Amici Cannis brought him to safety and rushed him to the veterinarian, they discovered an even sadder truth. His injury wasn't new. The sweet little dog they named Gepeto had been living with a chronic hip luxation, a painful dislocation that had likely gone untreated for a very long time. Every step he took was a reminder of the pain he had been forced to endure while surviving on the streets alone. Despite everything he has been through, Gepeto remains gentle, trusting, and hopeful. Now, for the first time, he has a chance to leave that pain behind. His veterinary team has recommended a Femoral Head and Neck Ostectomy (FHO), a specialized orthopedic surgery that will remove the source of his chronic pain and allow him to regain comfortable mobility. The goal is simple but life-changing: to help Gepeto walk, run, and enjoy life without the constant discomfort he has known for so long. Following surgery, Gepeto will move into a loving foster home where he can safely recover and begin physical rehabilitation. There, he'll finally experience something every dog deserves—a warm bed, gentle hands, and the patience to heal both physically and emotionally. Jada was gifted to me by my son( whom I just got back in my life after 13 years). March 17th, was such a huge blessing! She was born in Jackson, Mississippi early this year. She is a natural service puppy! Almost 3 weeks ago, Jada was struck by a vehicle/ hit and run. My cousin was babysitting Jada and let her out to play with his puppy. I was gone 15 minutes. It took me 2 and a half very long hours to find my J- Buggie.( Jada). My world was crushed seeing my baby hurt so bad! This was a Saturday. Poor Jada had to endure terrible pain until Monday morning before she was admitted. Jada is the sweetest pup I've ever met. She loves everyone! Animals as well! Her best friend is Timbur, a 9 month mix. She loves her toy monkey! I have Epilepsy and Jada already is doing amazing work with me when I'm having seizures. My family has told me. I'm on a fixed income. I get SSI. I have nobody to help me get her from her angel of a veterinarian, Ms. Rylee Moody at Faithful Friends Veterinary clinic in blytheville,Arkansas. Jada is finally able to come home. I have no money at all. Please help us

Hank came to us as a dog that had been passed around from home to home. Throughout being passed around he developed OCD. He was on medication for it however we were able to finally get him off of medications. He’s been with us about a year and a half now and sadly he now has to go through cancer treatments. Hank was diagnosed with large cell lymphoma on 7/17/2026. We are looking to get him chemotherapy to give him more time where he is comfortable. The oncology service in leesburg Va is where he will receive chemotherapy. Hank is a goofy fun loving pup. He loves my brother dearly and even loves going to swim at my brother’s dam. He loves to swim, roll in the grass, and get lots and lots of love when he’s ready to wind down. He loves it when we pet his chest and even gets a little cranky when we stop! My income alone is no where close to afford his treatments, I am putting myself through nursing school and sadly am struggling to afford his chemotherapy. My family has had a lot of unexpected expenses with the maintenance of our home and sadly they financially cannot help.

Kawa came into my life when I adopted him from the Hawaiian Humane Society at just 3.5 months old. The moment I saw his oversized paws, I just knew he was my best friend. We've shared over 12 wonderful years together. His name comes from his puppy habit of constantly jumping around, and me trying to manifest calmness (Hawaiian Kawa drink). And the nickname Kawa Lava quickly followed. Kawa is being treated at VERC after being diagnosed with Apocrine Gland Anal Sac Adenocarcinoma (AGASACA). Surgery removed the main tumor, but because the margins were narrow and the cancer is aggressive, we're pursuing chemotherapy to treat remaining microscopic cancer cells. Treatments include chemo, scans, bloodwork, and monitoring to give him the best chance at more healthy, happy years. Kawa was simply born good. He loves everyone, from babies to strangers to every animal he meets. His favorite days include yak treats, Alan Davis Beach, Lamb Chop toys, and zoomies after baths. His gentle kisses, endless patience, and sweet soul have comforted countless people. Everyone who meets him leaves smiling. While caring for Kawa, I'm also covering expenses related to settling my late father's affairs, which has depleted my savings. Cancer treatment is more than I can manage alone. We rescued Panda from the shelter when he was 6 years old and has been living with my partner and I since then. We have provided him a stable/loving environment knowing that he had experienced stress from the shelter and his previous environment. He has a heart murmur that needs regular 6-12 month testing to monitor his condition. He recently developed chronic recurring digestive issues that we are trying to find a diagnosis to. Also, when we adopted him found out that he had dental issues and it was expected to increase as he got older. He needs extractions for infection prevention/prevent organ failure if it spreads. Panda is a very sweet dog once he trusts you. What made our bond so special was that when I met him for the first time, Panda trusted me immediately and bonded instantly, which they did not expect because he is observant and careful with strangers. Panda is typically quiet and calm. He was anxious at first given his previous environment, but has grown so much and made so many milestones socially. His heart murmur and digestive issues were unexpected costs that we did not expect since he did not have these issues years prior. We are worried our inability to pay for tests and treatment will delay the care that he needs and will affect his overall help.

Jojo is my heart he came to my family back in 2019. My friends son found him out in the rain and I took him in and he has been by my side ever since.He gives me the biggest welcome when I come home from work and he protects me from everyone even my family members I love him so much and I don’t want to lose him. Jojo has a hernia that is blocking his bladder,He is in a lot of pain. He is in the hospital now The hospital is Per+Er in Hunt Valley Maryland. If he doesn’t have surgery soon he will leave me. My heart could not take losing him Jojo has the cutest face and he loves belly rubs and he loves snacks. He wakes me up in the middle of the night because he wants his belly rubbed and some snacks, He is the boss of the house. He makes sure everybody know that I am his person. I love him so much. He is my ride or die friend Jojo needs surgery asap to keep him alive, The procedure is estimated between 7and 9 thousand dollars. That is a very big expense for a single parent. All the money has to be paid up front before they will even attempt the procedure.

I got Rip (Belgian Malinois) as a puppy he came into my life in 2020. In 2024 I left a bad relationship and took the dog and didn’t look back, Rip is my BEST FRIEND. On May 13, 2026 Rip was diagnosed with acute kidney disease. He was in the ICU for a night and has received some treatment. Triangle veterinary Hospital. Dr. Miller is an amazing vet. I want to continue Rips care but I owe the vet $1,565.95. Rip is my best friend, we do everything together!! Rip has a FAVORITE toy, a “ Screaming Chicken” he calls it his “chick- chicks”! Rip LOVES to swim! We do Dock Diving and would love to get back to doing it! I am a single mom, my son is In High school, I work 2 jobs to pay our bills. I will literally do anything to make Rip better!! I’ve spent all my extra money on Rips vet care and I’ve reached a point that I need help to ensure he gets the care he needs.

In 2020, I saw a neighbor walking the most adorable Pitbull puppy and couldn't resist asking if there were any others available. I ended up adopting him for $80 after he was rehomed for being too big and rambunctious. It was love at first sight, and he has been happily living with my boyfriend and me ever since. He has a few lumps all over his body but right now we are focused on removing a tumor that is on his front right paw. We see Covington Creek Veterinary Hospital. He sleeps on the pillows right in btween us every night. Akumaru is a support dog for my boyfriend with schizophrenia. He enjoys going up to his grandpa's house where he sees his best 4 legged friends bear, ozzy, and millie. He's so gentle with babies. He loves going on walks and he loves cuddling. He's so smart and loving. They say dogs don't like hugs, but this dog does!! I am physically only able to work part time and my boyfriend is unable to work because he has schizophrenia. This would mean everything to me and my family.

When 15 Chihuahuas were surrendered from a single home to a rural animal shelter, they arrived carrying far more than uncertainty. Many had gone years without the veterinary care they desperately needed, and several were suffering from untreated medical conditions. Among them were Addie and Francine, two senior dogs now safely in the care of Miri's Haven Senior Dog Rescue. While they have finally left their past behind, they each have a long road to recovery before they can begin the next chapter of their lives. Both Addie and Francine urgently need comprehensive medical care, including chest X-rays, mammary tumor removal with biopsies, dental procedures, and spay surgeries. These treatments are essential not only to relieve pain and improve their quality of life but also to determine whether their tumors are benign or cancerous and to give them the best chance at a healthy future. For years, these sweet girls likely lived without the routine veterinary care every dog deserves. Yet despite everything they've been through, they remain gentle, resilient, and ready to trust the people who are finally giving them the love they have always deserved.
