When Mani arrived in the care of Baw Baw, something was immediately wrong: he was unable to open his mouth, with his jaws appearing completely locked. A Canine Distemper antigen test was performed, and thankfully, the result was negative. But that left one important question unanswered: why can’t Mani open his mouth? Right now, his medical team doesn’t yet know the underlying cause. Mani is being kept under close observation while veterinarians continue monitoring his condition and determining what diagnostic testing may be needed to uncover the answer. For Mani, every day is about watching closely, learning more, and making sure he gets the care he needs as his condition progresses. ❤️‍🩹 We don’t know what is causing Mani’s jaw to lock—but we know he deserves the chance to get better. Jivin Survived a Devastating Infection. Now He’s Fighting Cancer

When Jivin was rescued, he had a terrible infected wound that had broken through the bridge of his nose, leaving a painful hole through his face. What his rescuers discovered next made his situation even more serious: Jivin had canine transmissible venereal tumor (CTVT), a contagious form of canine cancer, with tumors affecting his mouth and nasal cavity. Before he could begin fighting the cancer, Jivin first had to overcome the severe infection and become strong enough to withstand treatment. And somehow, this brave boy did exactly that. After weeks of care, Jivin’s infection is now under control. The wound and opening in his nose are healing, healthy new tissue is growing, and his blood work has come back good. For the first time since his rescue, Jivin is finally strong enough to begin the treatment he needs to fight his cancer. Jivin is starting chemotherapy. His first treatment is a huge milestone, but his fight is far from over. He will need multiple rounds of chemotherapy, and each treatment comes with additional expenses for blood work, medications, monitoring, and supportive veterinary care. Your donation will help Soltis’ Hope Street Animal Rescue cover the cost of Jivin’s chemotherapy, the treatment he received for the severe infection and wound, and the veterinary care he needs throughout his recovery for CTVT. Jivin has already fought his way through a devastating infection and begun healing from the damage it caused. Now he has the chance to fight the cancer that brought him to this point. Three Dogs Found Freezing and Fighting to Survive

WHITESTONE, NY • NYC Second Chance Rescue

In the middle of a powerful Nor’easter, with relentless rain, high winds, and temperatures dropping, three dogs were found in horrific condition inside a box in a Bronx park. When NYC Second Chance Rescue received the emergency call, our team rushed to the scene and what we found was heartbreaking. All three dogs were painfully thin, drenched, freezing, and covered in severely matted fur. Their coats were saturated with rainwater, urine, and feces, leaving them cold and miserable. Their bodies were covered in fleas and ticks, and maggots were present. Even more disturbing, the condition of the box suggested that these dogs had not simply been abandoned there that day. They appeared to have been living inside that filthy, soaked space, exposed to the elements and surrounded by rat feces. Thankfully, they are no longer alone. NYC Second Chance Rescue immediately took the three dogs into our care and rushed them toward veterinary treatment. They now need thorough examinations, emergency medical care, parasite treatment, careful grooming, nutritional support, and ongoing monitoring to determine the full extent of the damage their bodies have endured. After living in such deplorable conditions, these three dogs have so much to overcome. They need warmth, nourishment, medical attention, and most importantly, a safe place where they can finally begin to heal. Their rescue could not wait, and neither can their medical care. Emergency veterinary treatment for three severely neglected dogs is a significant expense, and NYC Second Chance Rescue needs the support of the Waggle community to give them everything they need. Strong Paws Rescue welcomed Tilly into their care after finding her at the Cleveland Flea, where she was extremely sick and being kept in a crate alongside other ill puppies. It was immediately clear that she hadn’t received the basic care a vulnerable young puppy desperately needs. At first, the rescue believed Tilly’s swollen belly and poor condition were the result of a severe parasite infestation. She was also diagnosed with a Grade 2 heart murmur, raising additional concerns about her health. But over the next several days, Tilly became increasingly lethargic and began refusing food. Then her condition took a frightening turn. Tilly became wobbly and weak and began vomiting—bringing up three piles of roundworms. Her medical foster immediately sprang into action, getting Tilly fluids and anti-nausea medication while emergency transportation was arranged. At the emergency hospital, the rescue received devastating news: Tilly tested positive for parvovirus. She was immediately given serum and placed on aggressive supportive care. Her initial emergency estimate is already $5,800, and that amount may continue to rise as doctors fight to stabilize her. The estimate also includes authorization for a blood transfusion should Tilly’s condition deteriorate and she need one. Despite everything her tiny body has endured, Tilly is still fighting. In an encouraging moment, she began eating and even tried to play with members of the emergency veterinary team. Those little glimpses of puppyhood are exactly what her rescuers are fighting to give her more of. Tilly’s story could have ended before she ever had the chance to truly begin her life. Instead, she now has an entire team fighting beside her—but they need help covering the enormous cost of saving her. Help Save Meatloaf: A Senior Dog in Crisis

Meatloaf is a senior dog who should have been spending his golden years feeling safe and cared for. Instead, he arrived at a county shelter as a stray in heartbreaking condition—and now, he is struggling simply to breathe. His little body tells the story of prolonged neglect. His skin is red, raw, crusted, and severely inflamed, with extensive hair loss. But right now, the most urgent concern is his breathing. Meatloaf is experiencing respiratory distress, and he needs immediate veterinary attention. When the municipal shelter was preparing to close, it became clear that Meatloaf could not safely stay there overnight. He needed someone to step forward and get him to emergency care, and NYC Second Chance Rescue refused to leave him behind. Meatloaf is now in need of an urgent medical evaluation to determine what is causing his breathing difficulties and assess the many other health problems he may be facing. We don't yet know what his veterinary team will find, but we know he needs help—and he needs it now. Emergency hospitalization, diagnostic testing, medications, oxygen support, and treatment can quickly become incredibly expensive, especially for a senior dog who has clearly been without proper care for far too long. But Meatloaf deserves the chance to find out what it feels like to be safe, comfortable, and loved. Please help us get Meatloaf the emergency care he desperately needs. Help Max get Weekly water therapy, degenerative myelopathy — CA

Max Bear Peepaws is a 9-year-old German Shepherd/Border Collie/Australian Shepherd Mix. Max has been my emotional support dog (and I, his emotional support human) and fur son since day one. He was the last puppy left of his entire litter at the SPCA because his paws were too big. Others wanted small dogs; not me. He has been my protector and soul dog since day one, and my whole heart. On August 22, 2026 Max was diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy (DM), basically ALS for dogs, after an MRI of his spine ruled out everything else it could have been. DM starts in the back legs and works its way forward, paralyzing him in the process. There is no cure, only ways to slow it down. Neurologist says 6 months to a year before he loses his ability to walk. Water therapy starts Sept 29. Max saved me first. My body was failing me, no one could tell me why, and there were mornings I could not find a single reason to get up. He was the reason. He got me out of bed, and he kept me looking for answers until I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. He still knows my pain before I do. Therapy will not save him. It keeps him walking, and that is the only thing left I can give him. I am fully disabled and unable to work, and over $11,900 of his care has already come out of my pocket. In nine years I have never once had to ask for help with him. I am asking now because he does not have long, and every $95 session is another week he is still walking.

Help Aizen get Diagnostics and treatment — Boston, MA

Aizen learns new words & games every day. 2 years with us, & my son and I are in awe of him every day. He helps us both with our emotional needs, & we love to care for him with love, play, & all to make him happy. But unexpectedly, he became ill. I too fell into financial hardship when the same happened to me. Savings went fast, and my disability income can't be seen without a microscope. Aizen has no diagnosis. I took him to VEG ER for Pets, they did his exam, but Aizen did not display symptoms that scared us at home. He needed diagnostics. Cost right under $900 for 1 look. We were blessed that they comped just the exam but they could not move forward w/o upfront pay to continue. Aizen is sicker & we are desperate. Please bless him with your compassion & help fund his visit. I applied for assistances. No diagnostics assistance in Boston. I didn't qualify for financial emergency credit. I also learned that his record now states a possible respiratory issue, so now visits will not be covered by any new insurance, leaving us at square one. Yes, it's expensive to have a pet, but only if they become unwell, and there was no way he was better left where he was found. Aizen was really healthy and is extremely well taken care of. It breaks my heart to see him suffer, not knowing what is wrong or how to help. It's scary not knowing what the results will be as well. I sold what I could, still not enough.

Blu is a husky/collie mix. We rescued her from people who abused her and were going to leave her at the home they were moving out of. They were moving from Florida to TN. She was very scared of loud voices when we got her and would hide in the corner and pee if you even laughed out. She also hunkered down when we would go to pet her. After about 6 months she started to realize she’s not getting hurt any more and her personality came out. Our other dog loves her and she lets our cat beat her up lol She somehow got a box of Imodium off the kitchen counter and ate half of it. We rushed her to the er vet. This happened overnight sor don’t know how long it stayed in her system. They gave her iv fluids and cerenia to prevent voting. However she’s committing a lot since we got home. They want her back in the er but we can’t afford the X-rays and further testing. Due to her being part collie I guess they gave a mutation that can be deadly with the Imodium in her system. We were denied all credit options at the er She is our baby. She went from a violent home to a loving home. She’s normally hyper, spunky and always wanting to play. Now she sleeps, ears don’t perk up and anytime she stands she vomits. We are living paycheck to paycheck. We just spent $600 a the er and another $89 to get help with the pet poison control. We are down to $200 to live off of until our next paycheck in 2 weeks

Rocko is a rotten bouncey ball of fur who loves to chew on and try to make us chase after him to get whatever he isn't supposed to have, mostly shoes. We've had him since he was born and is a part of our family, his goofy smile and wagging tail is a big part of our lives and we just want to see him happy, walking, and wagging his tail again Our buddy has a broken hip that will need surgery as well as a break around his pelvis that is preventing him from being able to go to the bathroom and is in a dire situation and needs immediate care I am up with him at 5 am and have been all night trying to stay with him and ease his discomfort till we can get him treated at the Town & Country Vetaranry Medical Center We have had our buddy Rocko for only 8 or 9 months now, and even though it hasn't been long watching him grow, play with us, and learn more, and jump like a bunny when it was finally time to eat he is still just a puppy with a long life ahead he's grown to be our awesome dog we might not have him for our full lifetime but we want to give him a long full and happy life The financial situation for many have become more tight and that is no different for my family with my disabled grandmother who cant get around well and needs our help every day and my daughter who loves her Rocko and would be heartbroken if something were to happen to him
