Yogi's Cancer Is Treatable. He Just Needs Your Help

Thornton, CO • CLAWA Animal Rescue

Yogi has already beaten the odds once. Now he needs your help to do it again. This sweet, 6 year old, 35 pound Cattle Dog mix was rescued by CLAWA Animal Rescue from a high risk shelter in southern Colorado, where his future was uncertain. Despite everything he's been through, Yogi has never lost his gentle spirit. He loves people, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and has so much life and love left to give. After rescuing Yogi, the team discovered what first appeared to be a small "ouchie." Sadly, further testing revealed it was a cancerous mass. The road to finding answers has been long and expensive. Yogi has already undergone three veterinary appointments and multiple consultations with specialists to determine the best course of treatment. Thankfully, there is hope. The incredible news is that Yogi's cancer has not metastasized. His veterinary team believes he has the chance for a long, happy life, but only if he receives the specialized surgery he urgently needs. Because the tumor is located in a highly complex area, Yogi's procedure must be performed by a board-certified surgical specialist. The costs have already become overwhelming. CLAWA Animal Rescue has spent more than $3,000 on Yogi's diagnostic testing and specialist consultations, and his surgery is expected to cost an additional $5,500 to $7,500. For a nonprofit rescue, these unexpected medical expenses are enormous. Yet they never hesitated to give Yogi the chance he deserves. Now they're asking for your help. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward Yogi's lifesaving surgery and the medical care he needs to recover. Yogi has already survived so much. Together, we can help ensure cancer isn't the end of his story. 7/14/26 Update Yogi is finally back home with his dedicated foster after undergoing his lifesaving cancer removal surgery! While the surgery was a major step forward, his journey is far from over. We're incredibly thankful that the cancer was successfully removed and that Yogi was well enough to be discharged from the hospital. Now begins the next phase of his recovery. Over the coming weeks, he'll need plenty of rest, careful monitoring, leash only potty breaks, no stairs, and no running as his body heals. He'll also return for a follow up appointment in two weeks so his veterinary team can make sure his recovery is progressing as it should. While we're celebrating this important milestone, Yogi isn't out of the woods yet. Recovery takes time, and the medical costs associated with his surgery and ongoing care don't end when he comes home. We still need your support to help cover the expenses of giving Yogi the healthy future he deserves. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared his story, and kept Yogi in your thoughts. Your kindness made this lifesaving surgery possible. If you haven't had a chance to donate yet, or are able to give again, every contribution helps ensure Yogi can continue healing without the added burden of overwhelming veterinary costs.

Jax

Jax is a 9 year old Mix-Breed in Glendale , AZ, who needs $4,500 for Stabilization and Surgery.

Glendale, AZ

Jax is my nine-year-old Parsons Terrier mix and one of the most important members of my family. I adopted him as a puppy, and from the very beginning he has been a loyal, loving, and constant companion. He has a gentle personality, an incredible ability to comfort those around him, and a quiet way of always knowing when someone needs him most. Over the years, he has become far more than a pet. He Over the past several days, I noticed a significant change in his health. He gradually stopped eating, became increasingly lethargic, and was no longer acting like he unwell. Took him to er today expecting his valley fever to be relapsing and he’s got internal bleeding and they have to stabilize him. Already 1500 in fees with more to come. Jax has never just been a dog. He is my best friend, my constant companion, and a source of unconditional love through some of the most difficult years of my life. He has an incredibly gentle, intuitive nature and always seems to know when someone needs comfort. Whether I'm having a difficult day or simply sitting quietly, Jax is always by my side. He is loving to everyone he knows. Playful & love My financial hardship began when I had to leave my career to become the full-time caregiver for my adult son, who has autism, a rare genetic disorder, and I haven’t been able to work. I am his full time caregiver and if we lose Jax his world will erupt

Help Millie Beat Cancer and Keep Living the Life She Loves

Wakefield, MA • Paws 4 A Cure

Millie has already overcome impossible odds once in her life. Now, she's facing the biggest fight yet. This sweet two-year-old Pit Bull mix was born after her pregnant mother was rescued from horrific conditions on a property where more than a dozen dogs were suffering. Just days after arriving safely at the shelter, Millie entered the world with a second chance already waiting for her. It didn't take long for her dad to fall completely in love. What was supposed to be a quick visit to "just look" at the puppies turned into finding his best friend. Millie's calm, gentle spirit immediately stood out. Today, she's an 80-pound cuddle bug who adores little dogs, is incredibly patient with children, and never wants to be far from the people she loves. Now, that joyful life has been turned upside down. After losing her appetite and becoming seriously ill, Millie was diagnosed with mediastinal lymphoma. She immediately began chemotherapy, but the journey has been anything but easy. Along the way, she developed a severe infection that required hospitalization and nearly claimed her life. Thankfully, Millie pulled through—and she's still fighting. She is now about halfway through her chemotherapy treatment, with at least two more months ahead. Her veterinary team remains hopeful, but she still needs ongoing chemotherapy, bloodwork, medications, and close monitoring to give her the best chance at achieving remission. The total cost of her treatment is estimated at $7,000. Thanks to a generous $400 grant from Paws 4 A Cure, part of her care has already been covered, but her family still needs to raise $2,000 to help continue her lifesaving treatment. Millie's dad dreams of many more adventures together—trail runs through the woods, walks along the coast, cozy movie nights on the couch, and all of the silly little moments that make life with her so special. At just two years old, Millie has so much life left to live. Your tax-deductible donation will help give this resilient girl the opportunity to keep fighting cancer and continue making memories with the person who loves her more than anything. If you're unable to donate, sharing Millie's fundraiser is another powerful way to help her story reach compassionate animal lovers who may be able to lend a hand. Every donation. Every share. Every act of kindness brings Millie one step closer to remission. Thank you for helping give Millie the future she deserves.

Help Rex Run, Hike, and "Talk" Again

Wakefield, MA • Paws 4 A Cure

Rex has always been the heart of his family. This sweet seven-year-old Siberian Husky is known for his gentle personality, his striking mismatched eyes, and the hilarious "Husky conversations" that keep his family smiling every single day. Whether he's out on a hike or simply spending time with the people he loves most, Rex brings endless joy to everyone around him. But in an instant, everything changed. After an unexpected injury, Rex was diagnosed with a painful cranial cruciate ligament tear (similar to an ACL injury in people). His family still doesn't know exactly how it happened, but they do know one thing: watching their beloved boy struggle to walk has been absolutely heartbreaking. The active life Rex once loved has been put on hold. His veterinarian has recommended TPLO surgery, the gold standard treatment for this type of injury, and is optimistic that Rex can make a full recovery and return to the happy, adventurous life he deserves. The procedure is estimated to cost $5,300, and while his family has worked hard to raise funds, they still need $3,065 to move forward with his surgery. Like so many loving pet parents, Rex's family never imagined facing such a costly medical emergency. They are doing everything they can, but they can't do it alone. Every donation, no matter the size, brings Rex one step closer to a pain-free future—where he can run, hike, and fill his home with his signature Husky "talks" once again. If you're unable to donate, sharing Rex's fundraiser can make just as much of an impact by helping his story reach more compassionate animal lovers. Together, we can give Rex the second chance he deserves. Thank you for supporting Rex and his family.

Dakota

Dakota is a 9 year old Mix-Breed in Washington, DC, who needs $8,975 for Pacemaker Surgery.

Washington, DC

Dakota, or Koda, came into my life when I was 19 and he was 4 months old. He had been abused and was terrified of people, but with time, patience, and love, he learned he was finally safe. For almost 10 years, he’s been my best friend, my soul dog, and my constant through every chapter of life. He shares our home with his sister, Mischa, and I truly can’t imagine life without him. Koda went in for what was supposed to be a routine dental cleaning, but he almost didn’t make it home to us. The anesthesia revealed a second degree AV block in heart. This means his heart is only beating 1/2 the time it tries to. His cardiologist at CVCA let us know that he now has a risk of sudden death and that pacemaker surgery could save his life. Koda has the gentlest soul. After surviving abuse, he learned to trust and love again. He carries his red panda plushy around and is only a fan of cuddling his toys instead of chewing them. He loves kids, all animals, and anyone willing to give him a cuddle. He’s protective of his mommy, and never misses a chance to howl when a fire truck passes. He’s my little fox, he loves to sleep like a donut! Koda’s diagnosis was completely unexpected. I have exhausted every resource to cover his care, but the cost of his lifesaving surgery is beyond what I can afford alone. He means everything to me, I can’t imagine life without him.
