Mace was adopted when he was only two months old and has been the only dog in my life ever since. For his whole life, it has been just him and me. He is the love of my life. When Mace was 9 months old, I was out walking him in my neighborhood when he was hit by a golf cart. With this field only allowing for 400 characters, I can’t explain the whole situation, but essentially we did not realize the extent of his injuries until he started limping years later. He has a torn ligament that requires surgery, as he can no longer put weight on the leg. Mace is a calm, friendly, loving, silly boy. He loves people, but he prefers to play alone when it comes to other dogs. His favorite thing is chasing lizards and any time he comes across a large piece of wood, cinderblock, tire, or anything else that could be hiding a lizard, he will stare at it until mom flips it over to check if any are underneath. Mace recently had a $2000 surgery to remove a cancerous tumor on his head. Days before the surgery, I lost my job of two years. The surgery is so expensive. To have Mace be able to walk, play, and chase lizards again would mean everything.

Boomer

Boomer was rescued with his mom & siblings from a connivence store dumpster. We adopted him from a private rescuer when he was 6wks old. He is in training to be my service dog, when my current retires. He lives 6 month in a home, and 6 months camping, as my husband and I are camp hosting during summer months as volunteers for USFS. Boomer was neutered on Oct. 18th, and after coming home the same day had complications with swelling more then he should have. After several days of back & forth with the vet he was taken back in and it was discovered through exploratory surgery that he had a hole in his bowel (laymens term), this required repair surgery. He is in recovery doing well. Boomer is the sweetest, loving, quick learning boy, who loves his sister Bella (my 7yr old current service dog), and his siamese camp kitty Sunshine. Boom is in training to take over for Bella as my service dog, if he is up to it. He quickly b part of our family, as well as the wonderful campers he has met. He has had a wonderful impact on his family, and so many others in his first 10mo. My husband and I are disabled seniors on fixed income. We volunteer our time to camp host, and help animals local animals in need. Boomers surgery comes at a time where I just spent days in the hospital, and my husband has surgery in Oct. We have no available funds or cred

She was originally my son‘s dog and she came to live with us when he got married and had a baby. She was a year and a half. She lived out in the country. Then now she is in the city back with my son and I spend most of the week with her as I take care of my grandson. Sasha unfortunately got caught in someone’s trap. She was gone missing for three weeks and she freed herself and finally made her way home and we took care of her but now she’s nine almost 10 and I would like to have her get a prosthetic so she could run again on all fours because she love to run with my son. She has adapted and adjusted really well but I’m afraid she’s starting to get arthritis She is the funniest sweetest smartest and bravest dog I have ever met and she brings joy to everyone around her. I’ve never seen one dog love so many people and so many people love her. She is incredible and she’s never lost one bit of her spirit or her love for life. I’m on disability and have a fixed income, but have been watching DIY videos on how to come up with something that would work as far as as a temporary prosthetic but if we could get her the real deal that would be awesome

Ike

We found Ike four years ago, after finally deciding to open our home to another dog following the death of our first greyhound. We fell in love with his brother when we went to pick him up. So, Ike and Odi became a part of our family. They have been inseparable since. Ike and his brother love to cuddle and go hiking with the family. They love car rides and camping. Ike was diagnosed on September 27, 2025, with IMHA, a severe blood disorder in dogs where the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys red blood cells, leading to anemia. He had blood tests the next two days and was hospitalized when his hematocrit was critically low. He has had 2 blood transfusions in vet critical care and is on immunosuppressants. He is the darling of the hospital. Ike is the sweetest boy. He has to give his consent for pets and will let you know if he wants "uppies" - what we call holding him. He loves it when you ask him if he wants scratches. He will not come to you if he does not want them. He bonded with his littermate, Odi. He is the bigger of the two boys. He is very calm until separated from us, and he has been in the hospital for 2 days now The care Ike needs is extensive. He requires ICU and internal med vets. He has had two blood transfusions and may need more to get his red blood cells back to the normal range. We have exceeded our spending abilities.

Dylan was adopted by my boyfriend from Sparks in Santa Paula the day after thanksgiving of 2022. Recently his (dad) passed away in Aug and I'm caring for Dylan, it hasn't been easy. Dylan and I were left w/o a place to stay after my bf passed away. We are both really going thru difficult times with the loss of my bf. I'm looking for emergency vet care for Dylan. I took him to the emergency vet hospital about a month ago and was told Dylan has 2 masses on his neck..he's having trouble breathing, diarrhea, vomiting. Also been having a temperature and his eyes seem to bulge out when this happens. Dylan is special because he is the most loving boy, loves children and great snuggle bug. He's such a well behaved guy. Usually super energetic and playful he enjoys his treats and does tricks for treats, lately, he has no energy and too sick to even care about anything. Recent death of family member, no income right now, housing situation is rough, Dylan is my baby boy. He is like my child. I love this guy to death and it scares me when I think I may not be able to have him much longer due to my financial issues.

We rescued he from a bad situation hoping to gind him a better home but he ultimately turned into a foster fail and ESA, he is 1 of a pack of 5 fur babies. He has been with us for almost 6 months. He was about 18 months old when we got him and already knew his name so we decided not to change it. His condition will require ongoing treatment as there is damage to his intestines. He ending up with parvovirus after getting out while we were at work. He had to be transferred to AnnArbor EVH after he had stopped eating and drinking and and was throwing up and at one point and is still having bloody diarrhea. And he going to require an NG tube to be able to get any nutrients from vomiting. His best friend is a 10 lbs chihuahua mix, when he gets around water he sounds like a dinosaur, when he gets excited he starts to grumble, he is the type of dog that would enter your skin if he could, he loves to crawl under the blankets to cuddle, he is yet to find a favorite toy, he will lay in bed next to you all day if you let him. Fixed income, permanently disabled and cut hours. Not having him at home is like there is a piece of our family missing, not having him home is affecting everyone (2-legged and 4-legged)

Zoey joined our family on our daughter Skylla’s 5th birthday. We met a litter in a neighbor’s yard; she sprinted to Skylla and sat at her feet, so we knew she was ours. We’re a family of four with a big fenced yard and a dog park nearby; no other pets. Named for her zippy spirit, she answers to “Pillow Princess.” She loves calm paddle-board rides and gives gentle nose-taps to crawl under the cover Zoey was diagnosed with a cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) tear in her rear leg at [Hospital/Clinic Name]. Our vet recommends TPLO surgery (~$5,000) to stabilize the knee and stop her pain. This isn’t a chronic illness—it's a surgical fix—but timing matters to prevent arthritis. She’s otherwise healthy. We’re heartbroken and simply want her walking comfortably again. Zoey is our daughter Skylla’s shadow—gentle, goofy, and unfailingly kind. She greets the kids after school, then burrows under a pillow fort to snore beside us. At night she gives a tiny nose-tap asking to slip under the covers; in summer she sits regal on the paddle board. She’s calm at the dog park, loves a squeaky fox and peanut-butter treats, and when someone’s sad she leans in like a warm, we Recent cuts to my hours at Ace Hardware, while I build a small Medicare agency, drained our savings. With our teen’s new-driver costs, we have no emergency fund. Zoey’s $5,000 TPLO is beyond us. Getting her healthy would restore our home’s calm and joy.

We’ve had Lola for about 5 years now. Lola is sweet, kind and loving. She loves kids, and loves being outside. She is truly the most beautiful girl in the world. Lola started acting different a few weeks ago. Over the last week, she has slowly declined in eating. Today she refuses to eat, or get up off of the couch. She’s definitely sick and I don’t know what’s going on. She’s extremely skinny and I’m scared she’s not going to make it through the night. Lola is scared of her own shadow, but is always there when you need her the most. She’s a cuddly ball of love. She enjoys being outside with everybody and showing her beauty off. Lola is loved by everyone she comes into contact with. I can’t afford this right now as this is an unexpected situation and I didn’t have the reserve for it. I really just want to get her help and anything you can help with is appreciated.

Nora came into my life about 4 months ago. I inquired about another dog that didn’t end up being a good fit for my current dog pack so we were introduced to Nora. She is a lively little puppy who loves life and her doggie siblings. If she could she’d play all day Nora has a small airway making it hard for her to breath. She tends to get pneumonia often and this last time she spent 3 days in the ICU. I’m hoping that the BOAS surgery will help her breath better and eliminate the frequent pneumonias and let her be a puppy Nora is the sweetest puppy. She loves people and dogs and just lights up when she sees either. Because of her airway issues she is limited on how much she can play. I am a single dog mom living paycheck to paycheck. It’s hard for me to save anything to help with my dogs. The help that I may get will be so appreciated bc that means we are a step closer to help Nora breath better
