My girlfriend and I adopted Fiona about 7 months ago. She was a frail little thing at the time and to be honest always has been. While we were playing with her before adopting her, a new batch of dogs came into the shelter. One of them was named shrek. And as soon as we heard that name we couldn’t help but name her Fiona. She has 2 brother that lover her just as much as we do. She is an extremely shy thing around everyone that she doesn’t know. But for the ones she calls family she is nothing less that attached to the hip. It’s hard to walk without her being right under you just trying to get some love and affection from her humans. She loves playing with her brothers. They have trained her to run as fast as she can at squirrels even if she doesn’t know why they do it. She has a consistent need to lay under the blankets with you. Either when you’re sleeping or just sitting in the couch watching your favorite show she is right there either digging her head into your chest or begging to go under the blankets. Or she does this as we call the “princess trot”. Where she bounces on our walks in what we can only describe as a Royal trot. It’s adorable to say the least. After coming home from work there was vomit all over the place. Which usually is a good sign to go to the ER in itself. Thankfully we were able to get into the animal emergency center. They told us she had hypothermia. Along with a blockage in her small intestine. Turns out her intestine was actually collapsed in on itself. She needed emergency surgery to save her life. But it was expensive. The surgery was an expensive unforeseen issue. I’m a disabled veteran with a fixed income that does a little work on the side for extra cash. The money is too much to handle but it was worth saving our babies life. 10 mo old isn’t long enough to be snuffed out.

Missy

In seconds Missy went from being an active, beloved dog to fighting for her life. "Missy got stung by a bee on our way home from my daughter's birthday dinner," Holly R., Missy's human mom, tells Waggle. "She went into anaphylactic shock." Missy is now hospitalized at the Mount Laurel Animal Hospital and requires blood transfusions every three days to help her survive. Her human dad is in the military, and they're cash strapped because they're all supposed to move again in two weeks. "We are moving our last military move after 25 years of traveling around the world," Holly says. "Financially, we are selling and buying a home in the next ten days and moving a family of six to a new life. Having Missy come home and be healthy means the world to us. We can't move without her." Missy's family says she is the light of their house. "We rescued Missy about two years ago after her owner passed and her sister was adopted," Holly says. "We saw her and fell in love. She is my daughter's companion and helps with her anxiety. When she's not lying with my daughter, she's asking for belly rubs and treats. She also keeps my anxiety at bay and is our little guard when dad is gone with the military." Please help this military family pay for Missy's care!

Snacks was chosen as a puppy to join our brother Justin's family.Before the time came for them to welcome their new puppy home,Justin was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident.We made the decision to become a dog house and brought him home when the time came. He instantly adopted my daughter as his human,she named him Snack-Pack in memory of her uncle that always shared her pudding cups with her Snacks can always be found glued to his teenage human, Chloes side. Her walls are decorated with Polaroid pictures of snacks in the many costumes he allows her to dress him in. His favorite part of each day is the car ride to pick his sister up from school. Every night snacks sleeps cuddled up with his newly welcomed dog brother, Baxter. Snacks is very high energy and so lovable. He will spend the day cuddling on the couch with you when you are sick, not moving until he knows you feel better. When it is play time he will run laps for hours pouncing at and playing with everyone he can. He wants nothing more than to play with every animal he meets, even if they do not. A few days ago snacks stopped eating and began getting sick. After 24 hours we became very concerned and brought him to his primary vet and they found the blockage after an xray. Snacks is currently at Pieper-Olson veterinary Hospital to receive an emergency surgery to remove a blockage in his small intestine. With this unexpected medical emergency comes a very high unexpected medical bill. his surgery is estimated to cost us between 3-5 grand. We have pulled together all money we have to pay deposits to ensure he receives the surgery but will still have a large balance owed

Left abandoned on the side of a highway with nothing but a blanket is how a good Samaritan discovered Nimby. That person saw Nimby was injured and needed emergency care. So they took him to the nearest animal hospital and called the Legacy Humane Society. Poor Nimby had a fractured femur. He was not microchipped, did not have a collar with tags, and no one claimed him. The Legacy Humane Society is raising money for Nimby's urgently needed surgery to repair his fractured leg. Though Nimby looks at you with those sad eyes, he's expected to make a full recovery and have much happier days ahead! "Despite his injury, Nimby is a super smart boy and very laid back," Molly B., with the nonprofit group, tells Waggle. "His story didn't start well, but Legacy Humane Society is trying its best to give him his best shot and a second chance." Legacy Humane Society's mission is to help animals that have been abused, neglected, and abandoned. Please give to assist Nimby!

Tiny Chiclet Needs Eye Surgery to Live Pain-Free

At just 5 to 6 months old, Chiclet should be spending her days chasing toys, climbing cat trees, and discovering the world around her. Instead, this tiny kitten is living with a painful eye injury that can only be resolved through surgery. Chiclet was taken in by Carolina Animal Rescue and Adoption, where she is finally receiving the care and compassion she deserves. After being evaluated by a veterinarian, it was determined that her injured eye will need to be removed to relieve her pain and prevent future complications. Right now, Chiclet is still too small for surgery. She must reach at least 2 pounds before she can safely undergo anesthesia, so her rescue team is carefully monitoring her growth while making sure she stays comfortable until she is ready for her procedure. This fundraiser will help cover Chiclet's veterinary examinations, surgery, medications, and post-operative care so she can recover safely and enjoy a happy, pain-free future. Despite everything she has been through, Chiclet is still just a kitten with her whole life ahead of her. We adopted Meka when she was 8 weeks old. She is so sweet and adorable, She loves to cuddle and brings much joy to my husband and I and also to our grandchildren She just had three kittens that are 4 weeks old She is such a good mother. But after her accident she is not able to to care for her kittens and it breaks our hearts.. We love her so much and are trying to do everything to help her I'll never forget the day of the accident, we were deep frying some fish and chip in our deep fryer. when sh all of a sudden jumped on the counter to get on top of the refrigerator and landed in the deep fryer. She took off running and crying. When we finally was able to get a hold of her place her in some cool water and rush her to her vet. She was given some pain medication to help her. Meka loves to play and snuggle with my husband and I. She is such a good mama to her babies. She loves to play outside and chase lizards. She loves to play when we are making our bed. She is such a character. We love her and her babies so much. My husband was hospitalized about a month ago for Cellulitus in his leg and could not walk for about a month and unable to work, which has really put us in a financial stressful situation. Hospitalization for Meka is so expensive which we can't afford at this time.

I have been blessed with Gus in my life since he was a puppy. At first I didn't want him when I heard what breed the parents were, a English bulldog and German Shepard. I worried the outcome. He turned out a pig dog (snorts) and I absolutely love him. He's now 10 years old and it's been the best ten years. Gus was minding his own while going potty in his yard. Our neighbors old fence gave way when their dog busted through. The neighbor dog attacked my Gus causing severe injuries. He went to olympia pet emergency and was treated for his wound. He started to decline fast. So I brought him back to olympia pet emergency, they closely monitored him but needed to transfer him to summit referral vet clinic Gus is the best dog you could ask for. He loves his giant tennis balls from tractor supply. He loves to play with the kids which means barking at them. He knows he can easily beg for his rabbit stocks by sitting near them and gives the cutest sad face ever. He has never bit a person and loves delivery drives (treats he's not suppose to have). My house would be so quiet without his deep pig snoring My house hold only has one income currently. With a new mortgage. Normally there would be two incomes. I didn't expect his vet bills to reach into the thousands. Oly emergency was around 6k and now at summit, the first bill was 6800 and now they want an additional 8k.

Mila was a healthy and happy dog until 10 days ago when she started showing stomach problems with diarrhea and vomiting. We took her to the hospital to check what was going wrong, thinking it was just a silly infection, but after 24 hours we needed to hospitalize ina critical her and now she is fighting for her life! More than just a pet, mila is family. She fills our home with laughter, licks away our worries, and reminds us what unconditional love truly means. She is the sweetest, kinder and most caring and kind dog ever. She has a sixth sense for cuddles. No matter how tangled on the couch we become, her fluffy presence is a haven of comfort and she is the sweetest dog. Mila has a severe inflammation in her stomach, Doctor Cohen from MedVet don't know exactly why yet (it could be a severe ulcer, cancer or something else) and she is literally fighting for her life as vets mentioned she is aseptic due to her sever inflammation. She is taking 3 different antibiotics, she is taking medicines to maintain her blood pressure and blood sugar. We have already spent more than $13,000 in a week and we don't know how we will pay for our credit cards in the following month as we don't have the resources to cover it, but Mila is family and we will fight for her and won't let her down!

Nala was given to me by someone who said she couldn't keep her. We accepted her as the heavenly gift she is. Nala kept a tennis ball in her mouth constantly except for eating and drinking, for about 8 years. We have 3 other dogs in the household, and she loves them all and they love her. She has the name "Nala" because she looks like a lion cub. Nala has a tumor on her liver and needs a liver lobectomy. The prognosis is very good, and it is expected that she will go on with the rest of her life. This tumor has a very low chance of ever re-occurring. Nala felt abandoned by her previous owner and had severe emotional problems for some time after coming to us. My husband, now deceased, took her into his heart as his own child. The two of them were glued together. When he died, I have tried to be both Mommy and Daddy to her. When my husband died, we lost his income. I'm working, but this vet expense was not expected or planned for and is much more than expected. This is a very well-respected hospital and surgeon, and it is not expected to re-occur. Her life is very much worth saving.
