Theo is by far the most expensive dumpster cat you’ll ever meet. He was found with his brother in a dumpster behind a restaurant when they were hardly even 2 months old. He came to live with me around a year old, this was back in 2017. We have been inseparable since, that was 8 years ago. Around 4-5 years old, he developed a chronic urinary issue. It is an excess of struvite crystals in his urine that can easily cause a blockage in his urinary system. Once a male cat gets this blockage, it’s life or death. Within 24-48hrs, their body can shut down. He has had multiple blockages throughout the years, and this surgery is his last resort at sticking around a little while longer. Theo has been an important part of our family for many years now. He came into my life when I needed a best friend. He has now became an important part of my children’s lives, along with his best fur friend. We all would be lost if we didn’t have him. After a long day, his affection and cuddling powers lighten up the worst moods. We now face this surgery as our only option, which is not cheap. We are looking at $3k up front, which is a lot for us as a family. It would mean the world to us to have more years with our family pet.

3.5 years ago we were ready to add to our little fur family the cutest little soul. After finding June Bug, driving 8 hours round trip, and acquiring a speeding ticket she finally made it home to her forever home. This sassy and spunky little girl was just what our family needed to feel complete. June Bug has been the emotional support dog everyone needs. She’s so eager to make anyone feel better when they need a smile. This sweet little girl is the only pup allowed on the bed because she’s just that special. When she’s not lounging around in her favorite spots, she enjoys running her little heart out, making special trips to the beach, and getting her share of princess treatment. Her favorite past times are playing with her 4-legged siblings, Leo & Piggy, chasing her favorite kitties around the house, and ready to go on any adventure brought her way. Anything this little girl wants, she gets it because she’s that special. She’s such a daddy and mamas girl she holds the key to our hearts forever. On 2/15/24, June Bug had an unfortunate accident. She jumped off the bed, landing just right, causing her to be paralyzed from the waste down. After multiple vet visits it was confirmed our sweet little baby has stage 5 IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease). Unfortunately she will never walk again using all 4 of her legs. The only option we have is to get this sweet baby in for surgery as soon as possible to prevent the disease from spreading further up her spine, potentially going to her brain. We are so heartbroken after trying everything we can to help her get back to her sweet self.

Sonnie came into my life after I started feeding the feral cat community at my apartment complex. I was feeding up to 10 cats a day and they just kept having kittens. Never had a cat, only dogs. One of the first sets of kittens I brought in had Sonnie. He was born from an all black mother and had 2 siblings both dark gray and black. Genetics are fascinating! Sonnie is a character. He loves to talk, especially if he thinks it’s past his time to eat. He’s the snuggliest guy in the world. He usually gets along with his big sister (no actual relation) except he’s been at the vet a lot lately which has changed his smell. Big sis Luna hasn’t warmed up to him yet and all he wants is to snuggle and be groomed by her. I mean the man is crazy, loud, clingy, chunky, goofy and has brought me so many laughs and smiles while I was getting sober. He has cuddled me through many withdrawals but hopefully his work is done ok that front as I have been sober for almost 6 months. He’s great with conversation when he’s in the mood, always meowing when he knows I’m talking to him. So Sonnie just recently came home from having his 2nd urinary blockage as well as multiple UTI’s in a bit over 2 years. He was most recently hospitalized on 11/5/22 for the 2nd obstruction which requires 3 days of car and an almost $1000 bill. Plus his rx food is $34 for 4lbs. Sonnie now is considered to have a chronic urinary condition requiring prescription food. I want to be able to follow up with his Dr for the recommended urinalysis and start his new diet but I have to pay off for the obstruction and hospitalization. Thank you for reading!

Rocky came into our lives 1.5 yrs ago. He was a friend's dog who they had rescued from the shelter, and they had gotten a cat, which he did not have a good relationship with. He was put outside and would jump their fence and come to my grandma's house, which is where I was living at the time. When I decided I was moving up north I asked if I could take him with me and they said yes. Rocky loves to sleep in bed with me or the kids, he does not really mind where if he is in a bed with you. He is a bed hog and I must fight for the covers. He LOVES to go on car rides, does not care where you are going if he gets to go with you. We also like to go on long hikes up here, when I have no one to go with me I know I always have him. And like most dogs he loves belly rubs, one thing he Rocky lives with 3 other dogs in the house, but I have to say his favorites are his 2-legged ones. He absolutely loves anyone that walks through the front door. He loves to talk to you, and when you're not paying attention or sometimes just because he wants all your attention, he puts his head in between your legs and looks at you. When it storms, I must make sure he is in the room with me as he f So we are guessing Rocky got his leg caught up in the fence and broke it. I took him in got X-rays and seen by the vet, but the surgery is more than I can afford right now. The surgery is going to cost $2000. I paid for the initial visit barely, but now I need help to pay for the surgery that it is going to take to fix his legs. He is our baby and my kids would be heartbroken if anything happened I am a single parent of 3 beautiful kids, with no finacncial support from their father. And of course, when it rains it pours, my vehicle’s suspension just went out on my way to work, and that was an expense I did not expect to have.

Tater Tot was adopted from Shelbyville Animal Control when I was in college to become a veterinary technician. When he first came to the school he was severely emaciated and absolutely terrified. It took a long time for him to begin to trust even just a few of us students. Prior to animal control catching him he was a stray. Right before Thanksgiving break I decided to take him home. Tater is such a character and absolutely loves to cuddle up with everybody. He and our little male cat are often found snuggled up together. He loves to run around the house throwing his toys up in the air (especially his stuffed squirrel). He’s so silly and gets so excited whenever we order pizza that he will even howl at us (have you ever heard a chihuahua howl?!) Unfortunately with all the testing and first two weeks of chemo I’ve exhausted my savings and will have spent all of my recent pay. I desperately need help with his ongoing chemo. I can’t imagine being without him and he’s still so young and full of life. Tot was recently diagnosed with lymphoma and will need chemo to help him keep comfortable for as long as possible. Without treatment he would pass in a matter of weeks. I have already done bloodwork, cytology, urinalysis, xrays and ultrasound. He started steroids and will get his first two weeks of chemo starting Monday. His oncologist is Dr.Wood at Indyvet in Indiana. Ever since day one he’s made everyone smile even after a really rough day. He’s always being goofy and is so energetic. He’s oddly talkative for such a little dog! He’s constantly following us around when we are home and always has to be the center of attention. He loves to curl up under a blanket with us at the end of the night and watch tv.

She has a fractured pelvis (ilium) and a severe compound fracture to her tibia—injuries that will require two major surgeries. We are hopeful for a full recovery, but her care is estimated to cost around $7,000, not including her spay and routine veterinary needs. But cases like this take a huge toll on our monthly budget—and every dollar spent here means fewer resources for the countless dogs sitting in overcrowded shelters, perfectly healthy but running out of time. Help a Small Shelter Save Joker's Life

Joker suffers from severe, chronic ear disease that has persisted for years despite extensive medical treatment. Repeated infections and ongoing inflammation have permanently damaged the delicate structures within his ear canals, causing him chronic pain and discomfort. Although medications, medicated ear cleanings, specialty care, and strict dietary management have helped control his allergies and improve his skin, they can no longer reverse the irreversible damage to his ears. His veterinary dermatologist has determined that medical management alone is no longer enough. The recommended treatment is a Total Ear Canal Ablation (TECA), a specialized surgical procedure in which the diseased ear canal is removed and the infected tissue is cleaned out to eliminate the source of chronic pain and infection. While the surgery results in loss of hearing in the affected ear, dogs with longstanding chronic ear disease often already have little functional hearing due to years of damage. TECA is widely considered the gold standard treatment for end-stage chronic ear disease and offers the best opportunity for lasting pain relief and a dramatically improved quality of life. Because both of Joker's ears have been affected, he may ultimately require TECA surgery on both sides. The cost of this specialized surgery typically ranges from $4,000 to $7,000 per ear, depending on the complexity of the case, the surgeon, and postoperative care. For a small nonprofit shelter already stretched to its financial limits, this represents an expense that is simply beyond our ability to absorb. Without surgery, Joker will continue to endure painful, recurring infections that become increasingly difficult to manage. Our greatest fear is that his pain will eventually reach a point where humane euthanasia becomes the only compassionate option—not because his condition is untreatable, but because we cannot afford the treatment that could save him from a lifetime of suffering.

Tom's Painful Infected Claw Requires Emergency Surgery

Tom has spent far too much of his life simply trying to survive. As a senior cat living in an outdoor colony, Tom depended on the kindness of a dedicated caretaker who made sure he had food and looked after him. When that caretaker passed away, Tom's future became uncertain. Thankfully, Adopt a Cat Foundation stepped in and brought him to safety. Since his rescue, we've learned that years of life outdoors took a toll on Tom's health. One of his ongoing struggles has been with his claws, which have become unusually thick and overgrown. Despite regular veterinary care, his claws have continued to cause discomfort and require close monitoring. Recently, Tom developed a painful infection in one of his dew claws. The claw had become severely damaged and infected, leaving him uncomfortable and at risk for worsening complications. After evaluating Tom, his veterinarian determined that the best course of action is surgical removal of the affected claw. Today, Tom is at the veterinary hospital undergoing this procedure. As a senior cat, Tom deserves to spend his golden years free from pain. We are committed to giving him the medical care he needs, but the costs are adding up. Since coming into our care, Tom has already required multiple veterinary visits, examinations, treatments, and ongoing monitoring. Now this unexpected surgery has created another significant expense for our small rescue. Tom recently returned to the veterinarian to have an abscess on his leg treated. While he was there, his veterinary team also investigated some other symptoms he had been experiencing. Bloodwork revealed that Tom is diabetic. His diabetes may help explain some of the changes we’ve been seeing in his coat and nails, including his dry, flaky skin and unhealthy-looking claws. With the right treatment and monitoring, however, Tom is already showing encouraging improvement. Tom has started insulin therapy, and his caregivers have noticed that he has perked up and is acting more like himself. Even better, his skin is no longer flaky! After spending so many years surviving outdoors, Tom deserves the chance to finally feel comfortable and healthy. After moving from California, it was time to bring a furry friend into our new home. We searched through Facebook until we found the perfect little puppy. Three years have passed since finding Charlotte, or Charlie as we call her. Charlie lives with several cats that adore her more than she does them. Despite an injury, she happily plays in our spacious backyard, where we all live together. A few months ago, Charlie injured her ACL while playing in the backyard. Despite our best efforts to avoid surgery, we were sadly unsuccessful, and Charlie continues to experience pain. We are devastated to say she needs surgery. Our ultimate goal is for Charlie to return to a life with little to no pain. The vets at Banfield Pet Hospital are confident they can help us achieve this goal. Charlie is defiantly a princess. She likes her bones, balls, and playing tug-of-war. She loves dog parks and making new friends. Known for her vocal expressions, she's not shy about sharing her thoughts. Charlie makes a great alarm system. Hoses, sprinklers, or kiddie pools are not her friend, but she loves rivers and lakes. Friendly and outgoing, she thrives on meeting new people everywhere we go Jill had a change in her job situation, leaving us to rely on John's income. We were then forced out of our home with no money. As a result, we had to borrow just to get by. As we settle into our new home, all we really want is for our baby taken care of.
