Mini

Mini is a 11 year old Mix-Breed in Morgantown, WV, who needs $1,400 for Mass Removal.

Morgantown, WV

thank you for reading. I found Mini in an ad on Facebook. The person's grandson was moving and couldn't take her. She would have gone to the dog pound. I've had her for 7 years. She's a wonderful person to be around. We used to enjoy going to walk. And she can even play volleyball. I'm older now and it really is a blessing having their love and company. Her knee is weak but the tumor is bad. She has had a tumor on the back of her left leg for a few months and it's been getting bigger. The doctor took a sample it needs to be removed it's not a fatty tumor. What brought me to the vet, she tore ligaments in her left knee and is unable to walk on the left leg. The operation estimate to remove the tumor is $1100 to $1650. She has two loving friends that live with us. Chelsea and Lucy. They all love to play together and love each other very much. Mini plays volleyball. If you throw a ball at her she will knock it right back to you and she has great aim you could've played with her all day until she hurt her leg. She is walking but only very lightly on her left leg. The tumor is growing so it's hard walking. I'm in my late 60s. Mini's love and company along with the 2 others make it feel like a home with love. It means a lot to me to hug her and to wake up with them everyday. I wish I got more retirement income but it barely pays the bills. The tumor is growing.

JB

JB is a 6 year old Bull Terrier in Los Angeles, CA, who needs $1,500 for CHEM8 +i-STAT, IV Fluids and Sub-q Fluids.

Los Angeles, CA

My roommate was looking for a bull terrier to adopt, there he was! He was at the OC animal shelter, was 4 months old, and just getting over Parvo. He was perfect so he came home. To my surprise, JB ended up adopting me, and him and I have been together for the past 6 yrs. It's just the 2 of us. We became homeless Jan 2023 and are currently living in a homeless shelter, he is my world, and I am his I brought JB to DTLA VETS, and I was shocked when I was told he was in acute kidney failure. He had lost 12 pounds, his blood pressure was very high and he was dehydrated. I begged them to help him, so they gave him IV fluids, sub-q fluids, and medication. He was showing signs of improvement but the grant i had ran out, and he is back with me but needs continued fluid treatment to recover. JB is the sweetest dog. He has saved me from severe depression and also from totally giving up. That's why I have to try and save him, and I won't give up on him! He is very silly and always rolls on his back and wiggles, also he gets the zoomies and runs around like crazy! He is affectionate, sweet, playful, and such a gentleman! He loves everyone and really loves to play, and loves attention! We were staying with an elderly gentleman for 2 yrs and took care of his home, after fleeing an abuser. He fractured his hip in Jan 2023 and his greedy children put him in a nursing home, and illegally evicted me. Didn't tell me where he was and he passed away in May 2023.

Anna

Anna is a 9 year old St. Bernard in Mansfield, OH, who needs $10,000 for CHOP Protocol.

Mansfield, OH

Hello! Anna is my nine year old Saint Bernard that I have had since she was 6 months old. She currently lives with me and my husband in Mansfield but we have been through a few moves together. When I first got her we lived with my parents in Warsaw and eventually moved a few different times in Coshocton and then to Mansfield. She currently has two brothers, Winston and Zeke, and one sister, Olive. She was diagnosed with Lymphoma on June 16th and is currently undergoing Chemotherapy, the CHOP protocol. We are using a series of 3 different medications to kill the cells and keep any more from growing. The total cost of the treatment is about $10,000. She is being treated at MedVet in Akron, Ohio. She is the sweetest dog in the world and gets a lot with everyone! Fun fact, I have had her all nine years of her life and I have only heard her bark a handful times, she isn't much of a barker! She doesn't like getting wet from the rain and hates snow even more! Which is funny since she's a saint bernard! She has a 9 month old brother (basset hound) whom she loves and they do everything together! The cancer diagnosis was very unexpected. We did have some money saved up but it got wiped out because shortly before this she was very sick and we were in and out of the Vet a lot until she was diagnosed with Addisons disease which she is now on lifelong medication for.

Apollo

Apollo is a 1 year old German Shepherd Dog in Malta, IL, who needs $2,000 for FHNO Surgery & Supportive Care.

Malta, IL

Apollo was adopted from our local humane society in March of this year after our family lost our 13 year old soul rescue to kidney cancer and DIC. Apollo was an owner surrender whose name was Maverick - which was our beloved late boys name. In our grief, we knew it was a sign. I scooped him before he was even "available." Our broken hearts knew that we needed him as much as he needed us. Apollo has had a rough road. When we took him, he had giardia, he was severely malnourished, lacked muscle mass and was underweight. It was also noted he has carpal joint hyperextension in his front legs & limited hip mobility We took him to his vet after he started limping and it was determined he tore his ACL. That however isnt the worst of it - the xrays showed a severe case of hip dysplasia. Apollo is living up to our late boys legacy. Hes growing up with my 2 year old son and they are inseparable. Apollo helps me "herd" him and follows us everywhere. He sleeps with us every night. As a SAHM, hes my partner. Hes protective, alert, observant but also very gentle and social. Hes everything a German Sheperds temperament should be. We have CareCredit but with Mavericks cancer and end of life care & now Apollos medical we are maxed. I also inquired about pet insurance but it was determined that this surgery would be considered "pre-existing." We need help. We were not prepared financially all at once.
