Soxxy

Soxxy is a 8 month old Chihuahua in Albuquerque, NM, who needs $2,000 for CT Scan and Pelvic Bone Plating Surgery.

Albuquerque, NM

About 6 monts ago we rescued Soxxy from a substance dependant individual outside a tavern. He had her in the side pocket of a duffle bag and she was depressed and extremely malnourished. We nursed her to a healthy, happy puppy. Our daughters and us fell in love with her and we decided to make her part of our family. She is so much a part of our life now that we cannot imagine life without her. Our beautiful tiny Soxxy was hit by a truck yesterday. She was seen by her veterinarian, Dr. Helper, at Northview Clinic in Albuquerque and they were amazing. Dr. Helper did x-rays and discovered she has a fractured pelvis. She has been referred to Colorado Canine Orthopedicss in Colorado Springs for a CT and bone plating surgery. All together we have paid $1500 and expect at least another $7000. Soxxy is a super intelligent, friendly, loving, and active dog. She is very compassionate and would not leave my husband's side after he had surgery. She loves her "babies", treats, and knows 6 tricks already. Soxxy has what we call the "zoomies" as she sppeds around the house. She keeps our 18 year old dog moving and healthy with her playfulness. We are in the process of moving and don't have a lot of fluidity in our finances right now. It would mean the world to us if we can get some financial assistance to make our baby a a healthy, happy, active, pain free, beautiful Soxxy again.

Reese

Reese is a 10 year old Mix-Breed in Jacksonville, FL, who needs $2,000 for Palladia.

Jacksonville, FL

My daughter and I adopted Reese when she was a baby. She had been put in a drop box of a rural shelter. She is an amazing and wonderful dog. She is 10 now. She’s my heart dog. She understands everything I say. She loves children and kittens. She enjoys her daily walks and she loves to say hello to the neighbors, she especially loves our mailman and UPS drivers. I have to run her out to see them! In Nov ‘22 Reese was diagnosed with oral melanoma which she had surgically removed and is getting the Oncept vaccine for. She is doing remarkably well. But now she has a mast cell on her lower jaw. Ultrasound confirmed organs clean. Bloodwork is great. The mast cell cancer is in one mandibular lymph node. Dr has recommended chemotherapy ASAP. Her vet is SEVO Beaches. Reese has had a very special relationship with me and my daughter. Our cat Gracie snuggles Reese when it thunders. They often sleep touching each other. (*see photo) Reese likes to “help” when we have fostered kittens. Reese is so in tune with the family and the grand children or any children. She seeks out children and neighbors she knows when we are outside. Reese was doing zoomies yesterday. She seems to have a lot of life left. Her medical costs have been piling up on top of my own. I have Lupus SLE and a high deductible plan. Unfortunately we have both had to incur medical debt this year and the last few years.

Photo of Betty White

Betty White

Betty White is a 3-year-old Shar Pei/Pitty in Chandler, AZ, who needs $772 for Tumor Removal.

Chandler, AZ • Underdog Rescue of Arizona

Betty White was found as a stray, malnourished and in extreme pain. She had had puppies recently, was suffering from mastitis and was terrified of everything and everyone. She is now recovering in her current foster home (after moving foster homes four times) and blossoming into the most snuggly, appreciative dog on the planet, she just wants love and cuddles. Betty wants nothing more than to give love and affection to a person who can show her a safe and loving environment where she can grow into the best dog she can be! This 50 lb gal has been spending her days lounging in the sun on the grass and playing chase with her foster siblings or that occasional bird/butterfly. When she's done playing, Betty likes to come inside and roll over for tummy rubs! Betty thinks she is human, and wants to be with her human and doing whatever her human is doing. Sometimes she even jumps into the dining room chairs to help herself to the dinner on the table! Betty also is no stranger to taking up the whole couch for afternoon naps and dipping her toes in the pool on the baha step. Betty has had multiple treatments/surgeries for mastitis and lumps, she has been clear for about six months and now has a growing lump that we need to remove and send out to see if cancerous. (initial findings are showing possible cancer cells). Betty is a foster dog, we are run solely on donations, we are volunteer based, and the dogs we take usually need medical or long term foster care, expenses add up quickly. Betty is a young adoptable dog, we want to make sure we can adopt her out with a clean bill of health!

Photo of Squiggly

Squiggly

Squiggly is a 15-year-old Terrier in Jefffersonville, IN, who needs $959 for Echocardiogram and Lesion Cytology.

Jefffersonville, IN

Squiggly came to Louisville Metro Animal Services after being found roaming Shelby St. in Louisville, Kentucky on November 16th, 2023. He was adopted in 2009 from LMAS, so the search for his owners began based on the information in their system. Unfortunately, Squiggly's owner had passed away and the family was unable to care for him. Squiggly has now found his forever home with his new owners, Kelsey and Christian, as well as a senior blind dog (Ruben) and a senior cat (Pippa). He loves to sleep most of the time, but otherwise he loves to explore the house, bump into his brother (this group is lovingly known as The Blind Boys), and nudge his owners for rubs. Squiggly is a medical senior that requires twice daily medications and a lot of attention. Despite being 37 pounds, in suspected heart failure, and as old as the Declaration of Independence, Squiggly is always happy. His tail is wagging, he is trying to climb up a flight of stairs (imagine our surprise), and he loves to lovingly bark at the cat. Squiggly, despite his loving nature and adventurous demeanor, is a true medical senior. He has severe cataracts in both eyes, suspected heart disease, weight issues, etc. He is currently being treated at Access Veterinary Care in Jeffersonville, Indiana. We are so fortunate for the support and strangers and loved ones who have financed his initial vet exam and an unfortunate trip to the ER. The next step is to understand the state of his heart before we try to address enucleation or his weight. We have an appointment scheduled for December 18th for an echocardiogram and analysis of the fluid in his belly. The estimate for both of these services is $959.65.

Turbo

Turbo is a 6-year-old Cocker Spaniel in Colfax, WI, who needs $2,000 for TPLO ACL Repair.

Colfax, WI

Turbo has been with us since he was a puppy. He was our first boy! He helped me so much through our infertility journey. He is so laid back and always accepts love! He enjoys going to the dog park and making new friends. He tends to cry when we get a few blocks away because he knows where we are going. Turbo is extremely food driven. He loves eating any time and anywhere. He loves chewing on bones too! Ear and belly rubs are his favorite. Most days you can find him sleeping somewhere upside down. Overall, we call him strong and independent because sometimes he likes to sneak away from his brother and sleep on his couch. Turbo is such a good boy and is a complete lover. He loves winter so it hurts us to see him down and out. He normally can be found rolling in the snow and eating it. We live on a farm with 240 acres so he has plenty of room to roam. He loves exploring the farm and enjoying the fresh country air. Turbo was limping and his vet shared with us that he tore his ACL and would have to have surgery. They recommended doing the TPLO surgery with an estimate of $4,200. He is currently on two different medications to help with swelling and pain. These medicines helped initially, but he seems to be getting worse. Not only are we worried about finances for the surgery, but the brakes went out on my car yesterday. We also spend $2,000 on Bolt a few months ago. It seems my mother was correct when she said, "When it rains, it pours."

Kira

Kira is a 7-year-old Pointer Mix in Deerfield, WI, who needs $2,000 for Surgery and Radiation Treatment.

Deerfield, WI

Kira came into my life 6 years ago, she is a rescue dog, from down south. She has brought me so much joy. in my life She currently lives in a beautiful home with our other dog (Brandy). Kira has a large backyard and plenty of space for her to lounge around in. Kira loves going on walks, she enjoys running around with our other dog Brandy. Kira interacts with others very well. She loves laying and sleeping in the sun, she will move around the house just to find that perfect sunny spot. Kira loves chasing squirrels although she is not fast enough to catch them, I like reminding her of that. Kira is a very energetic dog. Kira is special to me because she has been with me through my divorce, she was there when my mother passed away from Covid, and she has been there for me during my 3 knee surgeries. I was diagnosed with tonsil cancer in May of 2022, and Kira has been there for me during my surgery and radiation treatment. Without her, it would have been very difficult for me to get through those tough times. Kira has been recently diagnosed with gingival hyperplasia with suspect fibrosarcoma. She has recently been referred to the Oncology division at the University of Wisconsin Veterinary Clinic. She will be undergoing a CT scan and potentially radiation therapy as well as other services needed to treat her. It would mean the world to me to get Kira back to a healthy condition. My fiancé and I are expecting a baby in April, which will have a financial impact on our income and could use all the help we can get. I am a current cancer patient as well, so finances are really tight
