Rori

Rori is a 13 year old Welsh Terrier in Annandale , VA, who needs $1,500 for Minor Internal bleeding/ Inflammation.

Rori has been in my live since she was a small puppy, and is the sweetest dog imaginable. She loves her family, playing ball, and loves having freedom to roam in her backyard. Rori is a terrier who loves to explore, she found a small crevice in the fence, to which she was running around and unfortunately got clipped by a car. She visually looks okay, but she broke her fibula in her back right leg, and is suffering from minor internal bleeding. She is healing very well at Pender Vet, and is walking around and active already. She is a key member of our family, she is beloved by everyone she encounters including the staff at Pender, because she has the sweetest personality. She loves playing ball or chase with other dogs, and loves to get pats from family. I am a 22 year old full time college student at VT Arlington, and I don’t have the funds locked away to help save her life and give her the care she needs. It would break my heart to have to surrender her to the County, but right now I don’t have a lot of options.

Hi my name is Erica, My dogs name is Amos. He came into my life recently it's only been 2 months but I had to have him. Let me tell you why from the beginning. My 2 chihuahuas were both in their early 20's when they passed away, My family and I gave them the best years of their lives. We were all so heartbroken and did not want any other animals in our life at all. But then came Amos. Amos was a rescue 2x over, Both previous owners loved him dearly but their work schedules left Amos alone most of the time.I saw this and my heart broke when I heard him whining for attention. I love animals and he felt like a blessing in disquise.I would go home hearing his pitiful cries and my heart yearned daily to rescue him.Was I equipped to handle a big dog,No but my heart was. So I did.❣️ The day I brought him home was like bringing home a baby. He was so excited to be out his cage and able to freeroam the house. Jumping on couches and beds and seeing he was allowed to explore made my heart happy.He is so nosy we say cause he always dips his head into every bag that he's near. So full of curiosity and affection. He's very vocal also when he wants something or needs to go out. I've been able to care for him pretty well so far but there is something pressing at the moment. He needs dental cleaning under anesthesia. He is showing signs of gum disease and refuses his kibble and now is on a soft food meal plan. I just want to give him a longer life.

Walker

How did Walker come into my life? I was out of state for a work trip and saw a post of farm puppies for sale with this photo of an oversized few week old brown lab mix, baby blue eyes, tounge sticking out with a blade of grass stuck to it. From that moment, I knew that he would be going home with me. His personality captured my heart then and there. Walker has always been a very healthy boy. Recently, a mass has been growing in his mouth. In January, it was just a small white bump. After noticing rough, painful panting, I checked again and was shocked—it has doubled in size and now has multiple white bumps. We are seeking treatment at Peterson Pet Vet Hospital (Hiawatha, IA). Estimated treatment is roughly $1,500. He’s often described as having a “larger-than-life personality” and being “the biggest baby.” At 100 lbs, he still thinks he’s a lap dog. He loves playing with dogs and people of all ages, enjoys cuddling, or hanging at the dog park munching leaves by the fence. His thunderous bark shows excitement—but he’s truly scared of his own shadow. In my eyes, I don’t have “dogs,” but “boys.” They’re truly the best part of my life. After losing one just a year ago, we’re only now starting to recover financially—making it hard to take on this new challenge.

Rusty became part of the family when he was 6 weeks old. He is a covid baby and is very smart. He has two younger sisters, one canine and one feline that he loves very much. Rusty was attacked (unprovoked) by a younger pit mix dog on my property.he has multiple deep laceration and a broken lower leg that will need surgery. Rusty learned how to speak when he was about 5 months old. He says yes, I love you, and noooo. He loves squeaking his lamb chop dolls. Rusty always gives me a hug when I come home. I recently had to euthanize my sick 10 year old cat and I still owe $230 for that bill. I was in a car accident at the end of January and lost work due to having 5 broken ribs. I really want Rusty to get the best care possible so he will be with me for years to come.

Jinkx is a 3-year-old dog who was the runt of her litter. I got her in a parking lot in Bellflower, California, and she has been with me ever since. She currently lives with me and her younger sister, Dela, who she is very bonded to. Jinkx has a very gentle and affectionate temperament—she’s extremely sweet-natured and does well in a home environment. She’s actually always been in good health. I haven’t experienced typical bulldog issues with her, except when she was a baby she was accident prone, like eating things that would send her to the vet. But lately (just noticed today) her eye doesn’t look good at all. She’s still in good spirits and it doesn’t appear to be bothering her but I worry it will if it gets worse. I added a pic in photos. She’s absolutely the sweetest… she is weary of new people AT FIRST and will bark but she’s far more bark than bite. And she will quickly just love on you. I have no family. My parents died and with that, all extended family fell off and I became estranged with my sister. An ugly custody battle forced me to sell my home and with that I was forced to close my business so I’m unemployed right now.

Briar

Briar is a 6 year old Nebelung in Ringgold, VA, who needs $1,700 for Full Tooth Extractions.

We found Briar living in the briars at the dumpster. My 5 year old at the time affectionately named him Briar and he was diagnosed with FIV during his first vet visit. He has stomatitis in his teeth and gums and has a lot of pain and needs antibiotics often. We are told the only fix is a 2,000 extraction of all teeth. I am a single mom and I cannot afford this. Briar is a very gentle teddy bear. Briar was diagnosed at Cherrystone Vet in Chatham VA. I have been told by both Animal Medical Center and Town and Country Vet in Danville Virginia his only way of relief will come from full extractions. Briar lived a rough life at the dump but he is actually a big, gentle cuddle bug. I foster kittens and he has been a gentle big brother to many kittens. He has never shown aggression towards them, which means they were allowed to interact since FIV only spreads through deep bite wounds. He is so sweet and just wants to cuddle all the time. I am a single mom raising my son alone and it would mean the world to me to have our sweet kitty healthy. He stays in pain and has a hard time eating sometimes. We would love to see what kind of life Briar could have if he was finally free from pain!

Atticus

Atticus is a 7 year old Mix-Breed in Dubuque, IA, who needs $1,768 for Feline Odontoclastic Resorptive Lesions (FORL).

Atticus was rescued at 4 weeks old from a home where he wasn't treated right. I also took in his brother, Hufflepuff, who later passed away from bladder crystals. As a single woman, these cats are my world and my children. I couldn't bear to be without them for a day, let alone lose Atticus after all we have survived together. Atticus is suffering from FORL, a painful condition where his body reabsorbs his teeth. He is being treated at PetMed of Key West Veterinary Clinic in Dubuque, IA. He needs oral surgery and extractions to stop the severe pain. Having already lost Hufflepuff to illness, I am determined to save Atticus from this chronic suffering. Atticus is the most obedient, loving "soul cat." He walks with me outside and returns the second I call him. Every morning, he wakes me up with a gentle nibble on my earlobe. He’s a "silent strategist" who leaves toy "traps" in the hallway to get me to play. He is my heart and my constant companion; I truly cannot imagine my life without him. In December, a $3,000 ER bill hit just as my work hours were cut. Between medical debt and student loans, I cannot afford the $1,768.33 for this surgery. These cats are like my kids, and it breaks my heart to see Atticus in pain when I lack the funds to fix it.

I adopted this sweet girl from a Hawaii Humane Society in 2021, and we have been inseparable ever since. Moana and I live together in a sun-filled cottage where she enjoys her daily sunbaths. She is my "bestist little ride-along baby bear" and spreads joy wherever she goes with her pure Aloha spirit. Being with her is like being with a celebrity; everyone always wants a photo with her. Moana urgently needs dental surgery to relieve pain and prevent further complications. Before the surgery can safely take place, she requires a comprehensive blood panel ($500) to ensure she can undergo anesthesia. The estimated cost for the procedure at Chewy Vet Care (The Triangle) ranges between $600 and $1,200, depending on the number of extractions required. The veterinarian has advised that this is urgent and cannot wait. in pain weighs heavily on my heart. She gives me unconditional love and sunshine every day, and I am doing everything I can to give her the life she deserves. This past year has been financially difficult since relocating to Austin, TX, for school. As a full-time student living on grants and loans, I currently do not have the funds to cover this surgery. Because the shelter did not have her prior medical records, I was unprepared for the extent of the dental care she would need. We have been promised a $350 voucher from AAP a local charitable organization and just need to raise the remaining balance to ensure Moana can be comfortable and pain-free again.

We got Thor as a baby. We have another Irish Wolfhound that is getting pretty old we wanted to get our 3 boys another Irish Wolfhound. My 5 year-old loves him so much he sleeps & plays with him all the time and will not leave his side. He rode 4 hours one way in the car just for his first consult so he could be with him for his appointment. Thor just wants to run & play so bad but he gets sore When he was a puppy he jumped out of the truck & messed up his right leg. He had to have a surgery done right away for his growth plate so he could continue growing & now we are hopeful for one last surgery to get his leg straightened out to live his life to his fullest. He is a gentle giant. Loves all of the attention he can get and lets kids crawl all over him. We live in a tiny town and all of our neighbors just dote on him. He perks right up as soon as anyone walks in the door and wants any and all attention. His best friends are our other wolfhound and our 3 boys. This was a very unexpected major expense for our family. With 3 young boys on a fixed income makes it really hard to afford a second surgery but our boys love him so much anything helps at this point and we would love to get him back to happy and healthy.
