Hank

Hank is a 5 year old American Staffordshire Terrier in Colorado Springs, CO, who needs $6,000 for TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy).

Colorado Springs, CO

Our family was blessed with Hank in 2020 during the pandemic which became a blessing because we were available for the "new home, new life" stage, along with daily training, and love. We rescued Hank (visa-versa) from El Paso County Canine Rescue, and he has become an amazing addition to our family. Hank takes daily walks with Mom, Mountain hikes on weekends and sleeps in our bed! He's our baby! Hank is a powerful, highly active pup who suffered from Left cranial cruciate ligament disease, which was surgically repaired last year. Lindsay Peterson (Brooks), DVM, DACVS-SA, from Colorado Canine Orthopedics informed us that there was a high likelihood that his right side would need the same surgery, and they were correct. We cannot afford the surgery at this time, so we are asking for help. Hank is truly one of the kindest, most gentle friends anyone could ask for. He makes us laugh daily, cuddles on the couch and in bed, is wonderful with kids and other pets. he talks to us when he wants something, and we think we understand! He does several "tricks" and is very well trained. We've gone months missing his "zoomies" and his hikes/walks, and he seems somewhat depressed without them. We are down to one income, are still paying on his first surgery and have had no choice but to wait to fix his other leg. We hate that he takes pain medication daily. We feel it has gotten to the point of him suffering all day, every day, and badly want to get him right.

Ritz

Ritz is a 9 month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in Rogersville , TN, who needs $2,000 for Orthopedic Surgery of Right Forelimb.

Rogersville, TN

We located our little Ritz Bitz at The Cavalier Rescue, a life-saving rescue organization. They found us perfect to be his forever home and we brought him home in May 2024, when he was 7 months old. He was surrendered for euthanasia from a mill breeder who said, "He's deformed and no one will want him." The Cavalier Rescue stepped in to save him. Now he's ours! (I suspect we belong to him!) Ritz was born with a congenital malformation of his right front paw. He runs like the wind, but has been compensating for the short leg. We brought him to UT VMC to find out what's needed. Three expensive surgeries will get him pain free, able to live a long life. 1st is a muscle adjustment to his upper muscle. TOMORROW, July 16th. Around $2,000. The other two surgeries can wait another 3-9 months Ritz is unstoppable! He runs like the wind, is loved by his 6 fur-siblings, and snuggles hard. He doesn't know he's different but his level of discomfort is getting real. We need to get him whole while there's time before permanent damage sets in. Hearing his little yelps of pain while he's trying to live his best puppy life is hard. He deserves a full life and we pledged to see this through. We rescue dogs like Ritz and keep funds on hand for specialist care. We regularly add to our pet care fund, but these surgeries, starting tomorrow and continuing for a year, threaten to deplete those funds. So, we're asking for crowd funding to help, as difficult that is.

Blue

Blue is a 1 year old Pit mix in Gastonia, NC, who needs $2,000 for ACL Surgery.

Gastonia, NC

Blue came into Noah and my life at 8 weeks old. we got Blue from someone I knew. We got blue so my son would have an emotional companion. Noah, my son has austism and I myself am fighting cancer. Noah and Blue are inseparable! Noah named Blue for his color, his nickname is blueberry Blue is always two steps behind Noah, although Blue is kennel trained, he loves to cuddle where ever Noah is. Blue loves to run beside Noah on their daily walks. Blue loves to go to the park and have playdates with other dogs. Blue is friendly to everyone! Blue is a big cuddle bug. When Noah is feeling anxious, Blue will get behind Noah and put his paw around him for him to lay and cuddle with him. Blue loves practicing demands so he can get a treat☺️ If Blue wants to go on a walk he will go to his leash and let you know. Blue is very attentive to Noahs needs. Blue provides comfort and calms Noah I noticed Blue was limping on his left foot after going outside, when I took him to the Dr. at Dickson Animal Clinic and he was favoring both. the Dr. thought it might be a hip problem. She gave meds and we followed the instructions. One night about a week after, We took him out and we heard a loud yelp. Blue could not bear weight on his right leg. The xray shows hes tore both acl in both knees The surgery is going to cost roughly 3,800 per knee. I myself am disabled due to fighting stage 4 cancer and can not afford the needed surgeries. We know Blue is in so much pain and we just want him healthy again. Noah is so sad. Blue is Noahs everything!

Skipper

Skipper is a 7-year-old Mix in Lusby, MD, who needs $1,900 for Mass Removal and Biopsy.

Lusby, MD

My husband (Nathaniel), son (Noah) and I adopted Skipper through Petco adoptions in September 2016 when he was about 14 weeks old. They had named him and we liked it, so we decided to keep it. However, he does have several nicknames, such as "Skip", "Skipper D" and "puppers". Skipper lives with his hooman Mom, Dad, Brother and Grandma. He loves playing with Dad and Brother, getting tons of treats from Grandma and getting back scratches and belly rubs from Mom. Skipper has grown up with my son and at times, has been his only friend. They have a special bond. Skipper is a fantastic guard dog, who barks at everyone outside, especially the delivery people. After meals, he likes to wipe his face on the rug or blankets (hey, he doesn't have hands to use a napkin)! He makes really funny noises when he hears Grandma doing pretty much anything downstairs. He will also howl to opera or the "A-OO-Wa" from Angry Birds. At Skipper's most recent check-up at Solomon's Veterinary Hospital, we alerted Dr. Gary Holmes to a growth under his left front armpit and the fact that he was starting to limp a little bit. After exam, he diagnosed a SQ soft tissue mass in the left axilla. Given the location and that it's grown enough to start causing ambulatory issues, Dr. Holmes recommends removal and biopsy. Unfortunately, my family and I live paycheck to paycheck. We're now in a situation where we have to pay several thousand dollars to have the transmission fixed in my car, as well as Skipper's surgery. There just isn't enough money or credit to pay for both.

Simba

Simba is a 4-year-old Catahoula Mix in Cape Coral, FL, who needs $2,000 for MRI of the Spine.

Cape Coral, FL

We got Simba when he was just a couple of months old, as a friend for our other dog, Duke, who has since crossed the rainbow bridge. He has always been super active, energetic, and smiley. He aims to please and is a big lap-dog. His favorite toy in the world is his red Jolly Pets ball; it's truly an addiction. He cries without his ball, and chasing his ball is what got him into this predicament. Simba was born 6 months after our son and has grown up alongside both of our kids. They all wrestle like siblings and know each other's boundaries. They all love each other so much and always look out for each other. If our kids are playing nerf wars with dad, Simba will join in to "protect" his human siblings and bark at dad. Also, whenever we play the harmonica, Simba loves to join in, howling. Simba is so special to our family because of his being a "do do head," as the kids call him. He's crazy, silly, gets the zoomies with his tail between his legs, sings with a harmonica, only loves his red ball, smiles all the time, naps on his back with his legs sprawled every direction in the air, etc. He always shows his love and can tell if you're sick or having a rough day. About 9 am on 8/30/23, Simba chased his ball in the backyard. Spontaneously, he dropped, like a deer getting shot by a hunter, and screamed in pain. It hurts to stand, walk, sit, lay. He drags his leg to walk and the leg is stick straight After a thorough exam, the neurologist's guess would be a FCE (spinal cord stroke), which happens instantaneously like the incident. Required an MRI to diagnose Hurricane Ian devastated our area on 9/28/22, and we've been fighting our insurance company for payment to fix damages. My husband had a car accident on 4/6/23, and we didn't get our car back til 8/11/23. We paid $5500+ out of pocket for a rental car during that time.
