Since joining our family at 7 weeks old, Lucy has brought immense happiness into our lives with her sweet and affectionate personality. As Lincoln's best friend, she loves to engage in play, cuddle, and even snore. She never meets a stranger and is always smiling! One evening, Lucy jumped off the bed with a burst of energy. She yelped and then started limping. We immediately sensed something was amiss and knew we had to act fast. After a trip to the vet, our concerns were validated, a torn ACL. Seeing her in pain and limping around has been a challenge, but we remain hopeful for her recovery. Lucy is truly a blessing in our lives, providing us with unwavering love, companionship, and emotional support. Her unique ability to sense our needs and emotions allows her to offer comfort and solace when we're struggling. As I reflect on the transformative power of Lucy in our lives, I’m reminded of the importance of empathy, compassion, and unconditional love. Lucy encompasses all of these. Life happens and it seems to all happen at once. It’s never what you plan for or is expected. Friends & I got a puppy together as seniors in college. My housemates & I were dog people and very involved in his care & training. Chaotic environment but he adapted as a sweet friendly dog welcoming to all people. I worked at the college the following summer & asked my friends let me keep for the summer as companion in the empty college town. By end of summer I was in love and would never let go Today I found out that my best friend - who has been by my side & singlehandedly(paw) pulled me through very dark lows in life into now someone w/ momentum of success & optimism for the future - has lymphoma & limited remaining time. I am shattered & heartbroken & unsure how to move forward. I am so unready as hes been the picture of health & athleticism to this day. Vet = All City Pet Care South. Hes an energetic sweetheart & LOVES fetch. Will find any visitor willing to throw a toy, & retrieve & stare demanding rethrow. Frisbee savant: So fast & covers entire yard catching almost any frisbee throw. Loves new little Aussie sister & was protective of little bro who passed 1 month ago. My mom refers to Fitzy as a surfer dog given his laid back demeanor & intuition.. Smartest+ communicative I’m a single man. I previously got derailed, gave up on life, eventually addressed mental/psychological issues. I’ve put much effort into building back. Completed education & now working to build upon career. I couldn’t have accomplished any of that without Fitzy at my side.

Loki

Loki is a 5 year old Basenji in Claremore, OK, who needs $2,000 for Spinal Surgery.

I rescued Loki from the pound 5 years ago. They believe he is a basenji mix of some kind. He's the happiest, friendliest puppy I've ever had. He is my security, heart, and joy. Loki is long in stature and ruptured a dis in his back last week. 70% of his spinal column was blocked with the rupture. He is a tough little guy and was still walking for cuddles. The surgery provides a 90% recovery rate. He’s currently at Veterinary Specialists in Stillwater, Oklahoma. I don’t have children and Loki is everything to me and my parents. His emergency treatment was over $7000 despite his strong attitude and happy go lucky outlook. Loki reminds me to live life to the fullest everyday. Loki is young and expected to make a 90% recovery back to normal pet life. He’s a member of my family and he deserves the best care possible. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hercules

Hercules is a 8 year old Mix-Breed in Scio, OR, who needs $1,500 for Splenectomy.

Hercules was born at a high kill shelter in Texas. He came to Oregon with Street Savvy Dog Rescue along with his siblings and mother. We adopted his mother and him and one of his sisters is with my sister. Hercules got sick last night and we rushed him to the vet. Within 2 hours he was having emergency surgery for a ruptured spleen. This is known as the “silent killer of dogs” and from start of symptoms to death takes as little as an hour. There are no pre-signs it is happening until internal hemorrhage starts. the doctor said there was a large blood clot that probably saved his life. Hercules is an amazing, kind and funny dog.He is gentle, a good listener and is in charge of squirrel chasing and hole digging. He is an important part of our family, especially for our 9 year old foster son. This was a completely unexpected expense and I need help with a portion of it. It was $3500 out of pocket. They allowed me to put down a deposit of 2000 and make payments on the remainder.

Oreo is a 7 year old Mix-Breed in Meriden, CT, who needs $500 for N/a.

Oreo was rescued from a puppy mill. Has had medical issues come up since I adopted her but generally a happy loving dog. She is the only dog living in our home. She loves to play catch with herself and be a lap dog when she’s tired. Oreo got into a toxic poison a few years ago and since has had multiple issues come up. While this doesn’t seem to be a poison issue she has developed a very bad swollen anal glad, and or prolapsed rectum. Waiting for her vet appt. Oreo acts like a cat, jumping from couch to couch and climbing up on the table. She scratches at a cat post. Her demeanor is that of a guard dog though. Most ferocious 12 lb guard dog you’ll ever meet! I am at a financial hardship right now struggling to pay my own bills as well as all of Oreos past medical bills. This new one seems as it will be almost impossible.

I welcomed Arya into my life in June 2021, seemingly out of nowhere. She was this tiny 3-pound bundle of energy that I simply couldn't leave behind. Arya has become the sweetest and most loyal companion, and I feel so lucky to raise and care for her. She has been an incredible friend, and I'm endlessly grateful to have her by my side. Arya has experienced seizures and has been diagnosed with an enlarged heart and gastritis. Her veterinarians are currently investigating the underlying cause, which may be either neurological or related to her heart condition. The Veterinary Hospital she has been seen at is the Santa Clara Veterinary Hospital here in Eugene, Oregon. Arya holds a special place in my heart as the sweetest and most loyal companion. Her boundless energy and loving nature bring so much joy and comfort to my life. Caring for her and having her by my side has been an incredible experience, and she continues to be a source of happiness and unwavering friendship. Caring for Arya's medical needs is financially challenging, but her health is my top priority. Your support would mean the world, giving her a chance to thrive again. My pet's name is Ember. She is a 1-year-old Miniature Schnauzer and I got her for my birthday when she was 4 months old. Ember's playful and loving nature has made her the best thing to happen to me. We live together in a cozy home, where she’s spoiled with attention and affection. Ember ate a 2-foot-long rope outside, which wrapped around her tongue and passed through her esophagus, stomach, and small intestine. It was a medical emergency, and she needed surgery immediately or risked passing away. We rushed her to BluePearl Animal Hospital, where the surgery was performed successfully. Ember is special because she came into our lives right after we lost another dog, providing comfort and unconditional love during a tough time. She’s energetic, with a huge personality, and always by our side. Ember loves everyone she meets, bringing joy to our family with her playful and affectionate nature. This is a huge financial need for me, as the situation was sudden and required a significant amount of money. As a college student, I used all of my savings to save Ember’s life. Dirty is an 8-year-old American Pitty. She came to me as a rescue a few years ago and had a very rough life in the beginning. Her prior owner only used her as a breeding dog, and when she wasn’t being bred, they locked her in a closet. Since I have had her for the last couple of years, she has socialized with her sisters and brother and is well-behaved. Over the last week, she began to act significantly differently. She didn't want to go for rides, didn't want treats, and started to vomit when she ate until she stopped eating. I took her to the Emergency Vet, and they diagnosed her with open pyometra and advised that she needed emergency surgery to take out her uterus and clean out the infection as she was becoming septic and very dangerous. Dirty is remarkable as she is full of energy and life. She wants to make sure that everyone is happy and loved. She is also as close to an Emotional Support Animal as she can be for me, as I suffer from PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, and intense levels of anxiety. She is there when she knows I need a hug or just to keep my mind occupied. Wherever we go, she becomes a mother and loves rubs. To have her healthy again means the world to me. I don't want to give up on her as others did when her prior owner was breeding her. Unfortunately, a significant expense had occurred recently where my emergency fund was depleted, leaving me helpless for her medical needs.

Otto

I adopted Otto at 12 weeks old, I was looking for a companion, someone to get me out of the bed in the morning, to make me want to live life to the fullest; then I met Otto. He's been by my side through undergrad, grad school, and the month he got sick, we closed on our first house together! Otto became ill in August of 2024. He was quickly sent to Portland Specialty Care in Portland, Maine to see an Oncologist, where he was diagnosed with Stage 5 Leukemia. In September, with the CHOP treatment protocol, he quickly went into remission. Over the past few weeks, Otto's disease has started to progress, and they formally diagnosed Monocytic Leukemia, a very rare form of cancer. Otto has been my absolute best friend since he came into my life 8 years ago. He is the most loving boy in the world and steals the hearts of everyone comes in contact with. He LOVES to swim in the summer and roll in the snow in the wintertime. He loves fetch, and his favorite toys are squeaky-toy donuts that he got for his birthday and an oversized cow. He's the sweetest boy in the world. Otto's diagnosis was entirely unexpected; things changed rapidly & overnight. His illness came on the week we closed on our first home; with a backyard I've dreamed of giving him since he came into my life. I work multiple jobs to pay for his care but costs are building fast
