Chico was our first family dog. We rescued him from the home he was living in over 13 years ago. He was clearly abused and fearful when he came into our home. He cowered his head, walked away and did not engage. Over time, he learned to trust us and allowed us to pet him and he gained confidence in approaching us. My brother even trained him on basic commands (sit, speak, down, roll over, paw). When I moved out, I took Chico with me. I was the one who fed, walked, bathed and played with him. I made sure he was up to date on vaccines and purchased his food and supplies. Chico loves people of all ages. He will approach people and say hi or wait for them to acknowledge him. Chico is docile. He sleeps a lot which is normal for his age. Chico loves car rides and going for walks. Chico became my ESA and has been my saving grace in treating my ptsd and depression. Chico has accompanied me to many museums and miles and miles of hiking trails. When no one else was there for me, CHICO was there. Chico helped me overcome the grief from the passing of my late boyfriend. Most recently, Chico protected me from an abusive ex boyfriend. Chico is everything to me. Chico is a senior dog. As he ages, his energy and health is declining. He was recently diagnosed with vestibular disease. A tumor was discovered on his spleen that needs to be removed surgically. If the tumor ruptures, he will be in physical pain and will bleed internally. This is a sudden and costly procedure. Please help us. I wish Chico could live with me forever. He is my furbaby and best friend. I work as a server and I work very hard to keep a roof over our heads. This surgery would put me in debt.

Apollo

Apollo is a 2-year-old Chihuahua in Immokalee , FL, who needs $2,000 for Ileal Body Fracture Repair.

We rescued Apollo when he was only 7 weeks old. He’s a small chihuahua. He’s white with brown spots on his ears and the left side of his body. He’s a very loving dog and has a brother captain. We’ve had him for 2 years and has been a great addition to our home. Both dogs are two years old and practically attached to the hip. It’s been very hard for both of them being separated. Apollo is a very calm dog but does get excited whenever we get home. He loves catching tennis balls and frisbees. He loves running around with his brother and taking naps on our couch. He loves sunbathing in the front yard in the grass and he loves laying down and napping with the house cat. He’s very protective of his owners and has a very strong will. Apollo love cuddling and sleeping on on your stomach. He’ll jump and spin when you give him a treat and high fives. He always perks up when he hears the word treat and play or outside. He loves running around and just being outside. Every time he goes out side he’ll always look back to make sure I’m there. Apollo was attacked by three large dogs Saturday March 11,2023 and has a fractured pelvis and will need surgery within a the week. We took Apollo to our local vet and they didn’t have the equipment to determine the extent of his injuries. He was taken to the emergency pet hospital. From there we were recommended to a vet hospital where they have veterinary surgeons My family has suddenly received a lot of debt and we are going through a financial hardship and unfortunately cannot afford the entire bill for this surgery. It would mean so much to us to be able to receive some help in getting our dog better as back to his happy self

Bixby

Bixby is a 9 year old American Staffordshire Terrier in White Bear Lake, MN, who needs $7,000 for TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy).

We rescued Bixby in August 2020. He spent over a year in a South Carolina shelter, surviving only because he was a "staff favorite." He came to us with heartworms & carrying the scars of a tough past—he’s still scared of hoses and can’t stand being in a kennel. Despite everything he’s been through, Bixby’s heart is pure gold. He truly believes that every human and dog he meets is his best friend, Bixby has spent his life navigating a "floating kneecap" (luxating patella). Unfortunately, the strain has finally taken its toll. He has now suffered torn CCLs in both of his hind legs. For a dog who just wants to run up and greet the world, being unable to walk comfortably is heartbreaking. Bixby is truly a huge part of our family. Prior to getting Bixby, our son was uncomfortable around dogs due to his previous experiences. Because of Bixby's unconditional love and "snuggle bug" nature, our son loves Bixby and no longer has issues being with other dogs. We are a single income household. We currently have two vehicles that are over 16 years old and we keep nursing along. This unexpected situation with Bixby is creating even more financial stress and we truly don't know what to do.

Floyd

Floyd is a 3-year-old Mixed in Guttenberg, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Heartworm Treatment.

We rescued Floyd and his two brothers from a home in Texas and moved him to New Jersey. He is the runt of the litter. His two brothers weigh about 100 pounds, but Floyd is only 33 pounds. He currently lives me and my 17-year old daughter in NJ and is loving life. He gets lots of food, love and attention. He loves playing with smaller dogs and has a bed full of toys. Floyd lives with us in a small apartment and is constantly showered with love. He is constantly looking to be by either one of our sides and is always ready for a walk. Generally, he will sneak into my bed and sleep next to me. Floyd is special because he is so dang cute. He has the face of a pit bull, but tiny Dachshund-like tiny legs. He is extremely loving and is constantly hungry. When he was a puppy, he would gnaw on everything from cords, hats, shoes and everything in between. Luckily, he doesn't do that anymore, but is always looking to play. After we took Floyd in, it was discovered that Floyd's brother had heartworms so we decided to take him to the vet. It was discovered that Floyd had contracted heartworms through his mother during pregnancy and since he is already three years old, he has been living with it for a while. So, the situation is quite dire. About a month ago I was laid off from my job due to the banking situation. I am currently receiving unemployment benefits and can barely pay my bills. Floyd's treatments has added a financial burden that I was not prepared for.

Chewy came into our lives a few weeks ago & had malnutrition, multiple scars & marks on his body. We kept him for a few days to see if anyone knew this owners. Day 5, Chewy was hit twice by a car that took off. Chewy ran away for 72 hrs & when he returned we brought him to the ER vet. Chewy would need his rear leg amputated. Chewy with support dog for my son with combat PTSD He is named Chewy because he loves to chew large rope. He is the sweetest pup. He lays very heavy into your body when resting. He loves greeting everyone that visiting and its very happy to see us when we come home. We all have a new bed buddy as he takes turns with different family members. He loves exploring new places and always has his eye out for us. Chewy makes all of us laugh with his 10 pm zoomies. We just feels like he's had a rough start in his early life and want to show him love. That not all humans are neglectful. We know its hard to home a pittie, let alone a handicapped one. He deserves a chance to enjoy the world around him. Chewy was hit by a car and needs the veterinary care portion of his bill taken care of as he will need surgery as well to amputate his hind leg. Maine Veterinary Medical Center. Scarborough, Maine is where his care was provided. We found Chewy or he found us! He is an unexpected expense that we had not the opportunity to be prepared for. Im recently going through a divorce and my son is in need of an emotional support animal. My son is on a fixed income currently but will do anything to keep him.

Remi is a 8 year old Boxer in Winooski, VT, who needs $2,500 for Large Mast Cell Tumor Removal.

Remi is my 8-year-old Boxer-Mastiff mix. I adopted/rescued him from Orleans County Humane Society (Oleand, VT) in May 2020, when he was 2 years old, so he’s been my constant companion for six years. It’s just the two of us at home, but a large circle of family and friends, both human and canine, are part of his daily life as playmates and adventure buddies. Remi has had a growth on his underbelly for about a year that never caused him any trouble, so we’d simply been keeping an eye on it. Two weeks ago it rapidly worsened: growing/filling, turning bright pink, becoming infected, and now bleeding. He can’t stop licking it, and it’s affecting his mobility. I’m seeking urgent treatment at my primary vet, River Cove Animal Hospital (Williston, VT). Remi, my doodle, is a gentle giant and the best snuggle buddy. He knows exactly how to get what he wants and communicate his needs, and he’s the best doorman, investigating each person to make sure they’re safe to be near his family. He inherently knows how to read my signals and provide comfort. He’s my best friend and favorite companion, a constant and safe space in my life. Between a fixed income, necessary living expenses and a recent no-fault car accident, I have no disposable income right now. I’m not sure of the total cost, however, it’s well beyond what I can cover alone. I just want my best doodle boi comfortable through his golden years.

He was a rescue dog I seen him out on the street when he was a puppy and I got him and took care of him and he been there for me ever since we have a bond and I don't know what I would do without my dog I just lost my sister to covid-19 and I need my dog I love my dog is lot help for me he helps me through the day I need him,his my best friend I'm trying to get help for him My dog have three beds he's sleeping in bed with me he have a bed in the living room and he have one in the den and we take walks on the beach we play we go to Petco and pick out toys and come home and play with them I spend a lot of time with my dog he loves outdoors I take him shopping with me when I'm visiting my sister he's with me Yes yes he likes the toys that makes noise he likes me to squeeze it and throw it and he go catch it and bring it back to me and we can do that for a long period of time he loves it he just loves it Dr Phil told me at access Animal Hospital that he have a bad spleen that need to be removed he just said it it happens to some dogs depending on the breed The medical problem that I have with my animal is he need his spleen removed the name of the hospital is access Animal Hospital the doctor have him on medication the name is ursodiol 100 mg ml Suspension and the dog food he's on is Royal canin he has them on that because his stomach won't allow him to intake anything else and his stomach gets real swole after he eats I'm single my hours have been cut covid-19 is really hard on me it's really it's really really tough he's on special dog food that's very expensive cost me $100 for him to be on his medication because he needs this surgery and it's just breaks my heart it really breaks my heart knowing that I really can't do anything cuz I don't have to finance it hurts

Fat Boy

Fat Boy is a 9-year-old Mix in High Point, NC, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Care for Fractured Pelvis and Degloved Leg.

*WARNING* Graphic pictures This poor puppy is only 9 months. He was the last of an unplanned litter to be adopted. "Fat Boy’s owners thought they found him a great home." Susie's Hope tells Waggle. "The new adopters had only been gone with Fat Boy for 20 minutes when they called to say he had escaped." His original dad, Trey, drove immediately to the new owner’s home and heard screaming. Trey's heart sank as he ran towards Fat Boy, now lying motionless in the middle of the street. He was cruelly struck by a hit and run driver. Gently lifting him into his truck, they drove straight to an emergency veterinary hospital. X-rays revealed that not only did he have a broken pelvis, but he had also experienced a painful degloving injury to his hind leg. Fat Boy remained at the specialty hospital for 3 days, receiving around the clock emergency care, until being transferred to their local vet. The wound is at a high risk of infection. It had unfortunately become infected and tissue was dying. His vet cleaned and removed the dead tissue and recommended skin grafts by a specialty surgeon which would cost an additional $5000 on top of the $6000. "Trey had decided to sell his truck to raise the funds to save his beloved dog. This is the point that he contacted us for assistance and advice." Susie's Hope is a 501c3 rescue who generously stepped in to help. "We made arrangements for our experienced and trusted vet to see if she felt skin grafts were necessary due to the location of the injury." Luckily it is not - greatly reducing the cost. "Needless to say, Fat Boy is never leaving their family! Trey is an amazing person and a hard working automotive mechanic." Please pray for precious Fat Boy and donate if possible! Every bit will make a world of difference.

Venus was found wandering the streets of NC and ended up in the shelter where she was facing euthanasia due to space. We scooped her up with the help of an ACO in NC. Now Venus is in a loving foster home where she can get all the love and medical attention that she needs. She went to the vet just today where we learned she is heart worm positive. On top of that she is missing an eye and has wounds all over her body that tells a story of dog-on-dog violence... Venus is an absolute sweetheart. When she was at the vet, we learned she has ZERO aggression, towards anyone or anything. She is just the sweetest girl! Venus was found with wounds all over her body. She is missing an eye. On top of all of that she is also heart worm positive and also positive for hook worms. She's currently in NC and was seen at Warsaw Animal Hospital by Dr. Hunter. When she arrives in VA she will go to Linden Heights and see Dr. Ward Margaret's Saving Grace Bully Rescue takes in the hard ones, the hefty medicals and behavioral. This is our passion. But with funding being way down, we're drowning, and we need help now more than ever
