Helga is a 4 month old Dachshund in Aberdeen, WA, who needs $4,000 for Enucleation Surgery (Removal of Eye).

Helga and her brother Floki came to me during an out of state visit to friends and family after the loss of my long time friend of over 30yrs. The pups were living in less than ideal situation and had lost their mom at approx 4 wks old. They cried for each other whenever they were out of each other’s sight, so when asked if I would like to take them there was no option but to take them both. I don’t know exactly how it happened but I knew I needed to take her to a vet asap. I took her to Olympia Pet Emergency Hospital and was not given good news. We could try the meds to stop infection and reduce swelling and pain but there were no guarantees that she would have any sight, but that the best thing for her would be to remove the eye at a cost of at least $3500 that I did not have. Although it’s only been a few days and seems the swelling is going down some, This course of treatment may just be a short delay to her needing Enucleation surgery, it could get worse. To the point of either surgery or being euthanized. I can’t believe how short of a time I have become so attached to them. And Floki hates to be away from his sister and is so bonded. I’m dying inside for them. This definitely was not expected. I was only approved for $1200 in CareCredit and almost half of that was used for the emergency appointment. Helga should not lose her life over this or suffer any longer than necessary. Please Help if you can.

Dex Needs Lifesaving Heartworm Treatment

Dex was discarded near the woods and left to survive completely on his own. He’s just a tiny little guy, and when he was found, his fur was so severely matted that it all had to come off. It breaks our hearts to imagine how long he had been neglected, scared, and alone. We truly don’t know how such a small dog managed to survive out there by himself. But somehow, Dex did. He survived being abandoned. He survived the neglect. He survived being left to fend for himself when he should have been safe, loved, and cared for. Now that Dex is with Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, he finally has people fighting for him. But sadly, his fight isn’t over yet. Dex is heartworm positive. Without treatment, heartworm disease can be deadly. Dex will need antibiotics and heartworm injections to save his life. This treatment is essential, but it is also expensive, and Homeward Trails Animal Rescue needs your help to give Dex the care he so desperately deserves. Dex didn’t deserve to be discarded near the woods. He didn’t deserve the neglect that left his little body in such terrible condition. And after fighting so hard just to survive, he deserves every chance we can possibly give him. Please help us save Dex. Years of Neglect No More

Cranston, RI • Walker's Way Rescue

Mozart was found in a busy city in Rhode Island. Founder called animal control and when they arrived they couldn't believe their eyes. She thought he was dead. The ACO spent 4 hours trying to clean him and when she did she released a knot near his leg and when she did his leg just fell. His leg was so matted it cut off circulation that his leg became necrotic. When he was half shaved he was soaked with urine. This is the worst case of neglect the ACO ever seen. He spent the night at Ocean State Emergency Hospital in East Greenwich, RI. He received blood work tests, antibiotics, fluids, sedated shave down and full body cleaning. Blood work test stated white blood cells elevated and anemic. His back leg was accessed and it will need amputation once infections are cleared. He is currently on pain patch and will not be discharged until we have his doctor has pain management in place. Please consider helping this boy Mozart Augusta. UPDATE: Mozart is home resting and will be seeing a Primary Vet for pain management and leg amputation. He is also losing part of his right foot due to bone corrosion and testing for possible cancer. 8/4/26 Update: More care needed As time goes on and the more and more diagnostics are done to Mozart we are finding a very bad past. His front paw is fractured and needs a baby toe amputated as well as his leg. He has what appeared as a broken tail but that has healed at a right angle. Despite his trauma he is loving the attention of kindness. We have a lot more work to do for him.

Cow is a 3 month old American Staffordshire Terrier in Akron, , who needs $10,930 for Balloon Valvuloplasty.

This cute 16 week old munchkin named Cow, came from a breeder. He was being sold as a perfectly healthy little puppy, but upon taking him to the vet (VCA animal hospital) it was discovered this little guy had a level 5/6 heart murmur and further testing would be needed. He had a busy couple weeks going to the emergency room for x-rays, and having an echocardiogram done @metrovethospital. He is diagnosed with pulmonary stenosis which is a condition of the heart that will require a balloon valvuloplasty surgery. This surgery will open a valve in his heart so the blood can flow through the correct way. If left untreated this condition will cause congestive heart failure very soon. He has a surgery scheduled for August 26th @metrovethospital. Cow is the sweetest little puppy who reminds me more of a little kitten than a dog. He has an older brother and they are inseparable. As he gets older, he wants so badly to run around with zoomies and do all the cute things puppies do, but I was given instructions to keep him very calm until the surgery, so no more damage is done to his heart. I have taken Cow to about 5 different appointments. Now I am faced with a $10,000 surgery. Our little family would be devasted without him. He brings us so much joy with his silliness and compassion. There are so many things this little guy has not experienced.

But when Emma jumped out of a window, it became painfully clear that she had not been receiving the care and attention she needed. Now, Emma is safe with this rescue, and they're focused on helping her heal. She needs to gain strength and weight before she's healthy enough for her next steps, including spaying and heartworm treatment. For now, they're giving her the food, medical attention, and love she should have had all along. An Innocent Dog Paid the Price: Help Kusha Recover After Being Poisoned

Kusha is a gentle neighborhood dog who has never had a family to call his own, but he has always had a community that knows and cares about him. Friendly, trusting, and especially fond of children, Kusha spent his days quietly surviving on the streets, relying on the kindness of those who stopped to feed him. Then, in a single heartbreaking moment, everything changed. A week ago, Kusha was found convulsing in the middle of town near a church. His back legs had already become paralyzed, but somehow, despite unimaginable pain, he dragged himself to the home of a man who occasionally fed him. By the following day, his front legs had stopped working as well. Unable to help financially, the man reached out to Big Little Life Animal Rescue International, desperate to save his friend. Kusha was rushed to the emergency veterinary hospital, where doctors discovered he was suffering from severe poisoning that had left him completely paralyzed. He was immediately hospitalized and began intensive treatment, including IV fluids, medications, an antidote commonly used in suspected tuberculosis medication poisoning, and around-the-clock supportive care. For nearly a week, there was little improvement, and every day felt uncertain. Then, at last, Kusha gave everyone a reason to hope. His body has finally begun responding to treatment. While he remains critically ill and has a long road ahead, that small sign of progress means he has not given up—and neither have we. As more information came to light, the heartbreaking truth emerged. The day before Kusha became ill, witnesses reported that a woman became angry after two homeless dogs barked at her while she was walking her own dog. The following day, she returned carrying food intended for those strays. Kusha had not been involved in the earlier encounter. He simply wandered over first and eagerly ate the food before the other dogs could reach it. It is believed the food had been laced with tablets used to treat tuberculosis—medication that can be fatal to dogs. Kusha was an innocent victim. Today, he continues to fight for his life. He still requires hospitalization, medications, constant monitoring, and will likely need extensive rehabilitation as doctors work to determine how much movement he can regain. His recovery will take time, and his veterinary expenses continue to grow. 💜 You can help give Kusha a second chance. Although these are encouraging signs, Kusha remains in serious condition and still cannot urinate on his own. The doctors placed a catheter and drained about 300 ml of urine. There was pus in it, which may mean he is also dealing with an infection. He has also been sent for X-rays so the doctors can better understand what else may be going on and how to continue his treatment. He still needs hospitalization, IV fluids, medications, vitamins, catheter care, more tests, and most likely rehabilitation. He is finally moving in the right direction. Please help us keep Kusha receiving the treatment he needs. Every day matters right now. 8/14/26 Update: KUSHA IS WALKING Kusha’s treatment has continued with IV fluids, medications, vitamins, and close monitoring. He has remained weak, and his back legs were still not responding normally. But finally, Kusha walked. His steps are unsteady and he is still very weak, but he got up and moved on his own legs. He also peed and pooped by himself, something he had not been able to do since the poisoning. This is real progress. Kusha still needs more IV treatment, medications, monitoring of his bladder and urinary infection, and time to rebuild strength and coordination in his legs. He is not fully recovered, but today he showed us just how far he has already come. I will never understand people who look at a homeless dog and decide his life does not matter. How does someone think it is okay to hurt a living being simply because no one is standing beside him. And then there are people who stop and do what they can. Rosetta has spent nearly a year waiting. This beautiful 3½-year-old, 50-pound girl has watched countless dogs come and go from the shelter while she remains behind, hoping each day will finally be the day someone sees the incredible dog she truly is. When Rosetta first arrived at the shelter, she loved participating in playgroups and spending time with other dogs. But after being injured during a dog altercation, everything changed. Although her physical wounds healed, the experience left her fearful and uncertain around other dogs. Since then, Rosetta has missed out on many of the enrichment activities that help shelter dogs thrive. Instead of group play, she enjoys one-on-one walks with volunteers—and those moments have become the highlight of her day. What hasn't changed is her love for people. Rosetta absolutely adores human companionship. She lights up around children, happily leans in for affection, and loves relaxing beside her favorite volunteers under the shade of a big tree. She's goofy, affectionate, and full of personality. Like many dogs who have never had consistent training, she's strong, enthusiastic, and still learning her manners—but beneath all that excitement is a dog who simply wants someone to believe in her. With the shelter operating at more than twice its intended capacity, staff members work tirelessly to care for every animal. But dogs like Rosetta need more than a crowded shelter can provide. That's why One By One Animal Advocates is giving Rosetta an incredible opportunity. Rosetta has been accepted into a four-week professional training program at The Bark Barn, where experienced trainers will help her build confidence, develop essential life skills, and learn how to calmly navigate the world around her. Her journey will include muzzle conditioning to ensure safe introductions, confidence-building exercises around other dogs, loose-leash walking, obedience training, place commands, and the structure every dog deserves to become the best version of themselves. It was a beautiful reminder that one person really can change an animal’s world. Sometimes, all it takes is someone who believes they’re worth celebrating. A kind stranger found Phool collapsed on the roadside.

After being struck by a vehicle and left behind on a busy highway, Phool now needs an emergency amputation to save her life. Pawsitive Sanctuary refused to let her suffer any longer—but they can't do it without your help. A compassionate passerby discovered Phool lying on the side of the road, barely conscious after a driver hit her and fled the scene. She was alone, bleeding, and fighting to stay alive. Thankfully, she was rushed to Pawsitive Sanctuary, where their team immediately began assessing her condition. Along with her devastating injuries, they found she was severely underweight, dehydrated, and battling a heavy parasite burden after spending months trying to survive on the streets. X-rays confirmed that Phool's leg has been crushed beyond repair. The bones were shattered, the surrounding tissue had suffered extensive damage, and there was no possibility of saving the limb. Without emergency surgery, infection could spread throughout her body, causing unbearable pain and putting her life at even greater risk. Significant blood loss has also left her dangerously anemic, making every hour critical. Their veterinary team immediately started IV fluids, powerful pain relief, antibiotics, and supportive care to stabilize her while preparing for surgery. Her amputation is scheduled for this week, after which she'll begin a long road of rehabilitation, nutritional support, and parasite treatment to help her regain her strength and learn to thrive on three legs.
