Louis

Louis is a 4 year old Mix-Breed in EDMONTON, AB, who needs $2,000 for Open Reduction and Internal Fixation.

EDMONTON

I was given the dog from my grandmother, she had originally got him for herself, but he had quickly grown attached to me. So she gave him to me with little warning, not that I regret it at all. He's been with me for about 3 years and is about to turn four soon. From living with my grandmother, which wasn't the best situation to joining me in living back at my mom's. He was hit by a truck after he escaped from my backyard. I hadn't realized that a family member of mine had forgot to close the back gate. While he seems mostly fine at the moment, he has severe damage to one of his back feet. While they said they could try to save his foot, they may need to amputate. He is situated at the VCA Guardian Veterinary Centre. We have another dog he likes to hang out with, her name is Cutie. They play a lot sometimes not paying attention to their surroundings, or getting into things. Even so they enjoy each other's company. He plays with my family well, my little sister often smothers him with affection with sometimes makes him uncomfortable but he love the attention most of all. He usually hangs out with me however. I don't have a job, I'm reliant on income support and that does not give me enough to pay for his surgery. Said surgery being $7000 to save his foot, Or 6000 for amputation. If everything goes well, he'll be able to walk and run freely, or live despite losing a limb.

Washburn, ME

Max Had a Rough start at Life and when I came across him through a FB AD and saw how bad his condition was at just 11 weeks old along with gis brothers and sisters I Immediately Called police and animal control and all the Puppies were Rescued from this terrible environment and thankfully I Got to keep Max! He doesnt have a Mean bone in his body. He’s suffering from painful interdigital cysts and furunculosis, and has been treated at Eastern Maine Veterinary Services as a young puppy with a Small Surgery to strike an immune response and some antibiotics with Success. Now he is 2 and the Interdigital Cysts have returned along with the Furunculosis and Swelling Puss filled Paws and he and his health have taken a turn for the worst. When I was in the darkest chapters of my life, struggling with opioid addiction, Max was more than just a dog he was my anchor. Dogs don’t judge. They don’t care about your past. Max showed me love on the days I felt unlovable, and he gave me purpose when I felt like giving up Every morning Max needed me. He needed to be fed, walked, cared for. Even when i didnt care about myself I cared about him Max, my support dog, helped me through opioid addiction recovery. Now he’s suffering from furunculosis, interdigital cysts, and a bacterial infection. I'm facing financial hardship and unstable housing. Please help me get Max the care he urgently needs.

Ares

Ares is a 9 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier in Las Vegas, NV, who needs $2,000 for Radiation Therapy.

Las Vegas, NV

I rescued Ares when he was about 2 years old from the animal foundation here in Vegas. But saying I rescued him is wrong, he SAVED ME. I got him about 6 months after trying to commit suicide and he's given me a reason to live everyday since. We live in a large house and he has 2 other siblings that came along after. We are a small but happy family and we rely on eachother. Ares was misdiagnosed with a hygroma which has since been removed but due to the location they weren't able to remove the entire tumor. Since, he has been diagnosed with a low grade soft tissue sarcoma which he has to have 17 consecutive treatments of radiation in Carlsbad, CA, because removal of the limb would reduce his quality of life since he is already an amputee and would need a wheelchair. Ares is the foundation of my family and he is MY ROCK. Ares loves everyone he interacts with but he loves his momma and his momma is gonna go to the grave right with him when he goes. Hes touched my heart in a way that nothing else will ever be able to, he not only taught me how to love but taught me what it felt like to be loved, unconditionally. His treatment and stay total is $16,300 which is an unexpected cost but one that I simply don't have the funds for as a single income home. Even after taking from my 401k I am still extremely short of the funds needed for his treatment and I need all the help I can get.

Samson

Samson is a 5 year old Mix-Breed in Salinas, CA, who needs $2,000 for Urinary Blockage Treatment.

Salinas, CA

Samson is my autistic brother's emotional support cat, lives with my family alongside our 2 dogs and 2 other cats. We are low-income but we provide the best we can for our animals. Samson is the mischievous one of the bunch who is always up to something or is annoying his brother or sisters for his own enjoyment. Throughout it all he has provided us with many laughs and hours of enjoyment. Samson suffered a total urinary blockage that nearly stopped his heart on 5/19 & began harming his kidneys. He was seen at his vet Romie Lane Pet Hospital & an emergency vet BluePearl Pet Hospital for this blockage before being released on 5/21. Within 2 days he reblocked & on 5/25 he was returned to the ER vet before being transferred to Atascadero Pet Hospital on 5/26 to continue his care. Samson is my autistic brother's emotional support cat, but calling him that seems inadequate. He has helped my brother deal with loneliness stemming from bullying/exclusion due to his autism diagnosis by giving him pure and unconditional love and non-judgemental friendship, offering him the ability to emotionally regulate and manage himself when he is in distress, and has been his lifeline. I am low-income with my own disabilities that make working a bit challenging; being low-income and financially struggling has made it difficult to pay for Samson's medical bills but I don't want my brother to lose his best friend who has helped him more than anyone else has
