Spirit

Spirit is a 5 year old American Bobtail in Chamisal , NM, who needs $500 for Tooth Extraction and Teeth Cleaning.

Chamisal, NM

Spirit is an American Bobtail, We adopted her in December of 2020 when she was 5 months old. We’ve had her for about 5 years now and she’s the light in our lives. She’s gentle and loves to cuddle no matter the position or place. She has an out going personality and is not afraid to be near people and accepts attention with ease. She runs around the house making little noises and playing around. I noticed spirit had plaque on her back molar and I did my best to treat it gum medicine and bushing her teeth regularly, I notice the gums around that tooth bleed easy and it causes her much pain and discomfort. Fast forward a few months and I check on that that tooth again its very loose and gross with puss and nasty goo, this made me realize she needs help sooner than later. My car spirit has a little buddy named binx, she’s a little grey kitty and they’ve grown to love each other. It wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows but in the end they’re besties. The thing I love most about spirit is her personality and how easy it is for her to jump on my desk and give me head butts and cuddles that will last hours in a chair. She truly is a sweet cat. My mother has been battling cancer for the better part of 5 years now. Me being 21 and her caregiver makes working hard for me due to her dependency of me and we’ve been on a fixed income because of this for the past 5 years. It’s hard to say the very least

Boncuk

Boncuk is a 8 year old American Shorthair in Hicksville, NY, who needs $2,000 for Enucleation.

Hicksville

I adopted my baby Boncuk roughly 9 years ago in September from an animal shelter. He was born with a cataract in both eyes, unfortunately. He has been my world since then. I brought him home, gave him a comfortable life, provided food, shelter, and most importantly love. I took him to his veterinary visits regularly to make sure he was okay. Until I started to notice his left eye turn red. Once I took Boncuk to the veterinary hospital to have his vision checked out they had mentioned that the cataract not only had turn into glaucoma, but now there is a tumor in his eye, as seen from the photos. The veterinarian informed us that he had no vision in that eye and that it needed to be removed as soon as possible. While the cost is $3700+, I am having a lot of trouble affording this. My baby Boncuk not once in 9 years has scratched or bit me. He is the most caring, peaceful, and kind pet I’ve owned. He knows when I’m upset and he knows when I’m at peace. He will immediately care for me and start to lick me if he notices a tear roll down my face. He’s my best friend and I want him to be at ease. He’s is suffering from the pain in his eye and I am suffering with him. I am currently working 2 jobs trying to make means. $3,700+ for an enucleation is something I am having trouble affording. Seeing my pet not be lethargic and seeing him at ease would mean the world to me. I am constantly putting eye drops in his eye to reduce eye pressure.

Lola

Lola is a 5 year old Chihuahua in Alpharetta, GA, who needs $650 for Ultrasound.

Alpharetta, GA

I was fortunate to have adopted Lola on Feb 18th, 2020. It was unplanned, as she was the last of a litter of 3 pups being adopted out in the parking lot of my local Target. Once I saw her I fell in love immediately and took her home. She is a tiny 3-pound Chihuahua that's convinced she's as big as a rottweiler. The two of us live in a hotel for now but hope to save enough for an apartment soon. Over a year ago Lola started having symptoms of circling and seizures. Based on that and diagnostic tests, the vet's diagnosis was a portosystemic shunt. Meds and low-protein diet helped at first but the occasional symptoms are getting worse. An ultrasound at Alpharetta Veterinary Specialty & Emergency is needed to confirm it's an "extrahepatic" shunt, the type that's often successfully operable. Lola has a big bark, but once she trusts someone, she's the most loving pup in the world! She enjoys going on walks, playing with other dogs and attempting to boss them around, lol. Her favorite thing to do is cuddle on plush blankets with her bone until she falls asleep. Despite her illness and our stressful living situation, she is always in a playful mood and has been my sweetest comfort. Two years ago, I abruptly left my ex and then was laid-off from work. I've been stuck with inconsistent jobs ever since. So between that, paying nightly hotel rates, and special dogfood/ meds for Lola, saving up for an ultrasound and potentially surgery has been impossible.
