Izzie joined our family in October 2011. My oldest daughter had been begging for a dog for a while and I was reluctant bc I didn’t think she was mature enough to handle the responsibility. A coworker’s dog had an unexpected litter of about 7 puppies and offered us one. Izzie or Busy Izzie or Baby Bear or Gangsta Bo has been the QUEEN of the castle, ruling over her two fur brothers until they both crossed the rainbow bridge in January & October 2023. She is my shadow now since it’s just her and I. The kids are grown now and out of the house but she’s a love hound when they come to visit!!! Even though she is only 30lbs, Izzie is my protector! No one gets close to me unless they pass the Izzie test. We are still not sure what the Izzie test is, but once she decides your cool people, you’ll know it! She loves dressing up in her sweaters during the fall and winter, she’s always ready to catch a thrown ball and she never not ever met a treat treat she hasn’t liked!!! Diagnosed with Cushings Disease in 2021, Izzie is on daily medication (Trilostane, 10mg) twice a day. She is a patient of Washington Avenue Animal Hospital, is spayed and is up to date on all her shots. She is also on prescription food, Hill Science Diet GastroBio. Being the sole provider for my household, having an adult child with addiction and mental health issues as well as dealing with a recent layoff has caused a temporary extreme financial hardship.

Molly has been my fur baby for nearly 13 years, where we walked the streets of old town Alexandria twice a day for nearly most of them. She loves the treats and going shopping. Molly brings joy to everyone that she sees with her big happy smile and her wagging tail. She is an explorer and loves all people and dogs, strangers and friends alike. If you have hands, she's your best friend. Her smile and her sweet personality can win anyone over with time. If you rub her knees, it will make her stretch and if you rub her back, she will wiggle her whole body! Dr. Hiniker at MedVet will be conducting her surgery, which is a spleenectomy. She has a mass on her spleen that must be removed. She is still full of vigor and zooms in and out of the house after being outside, its hard to imagine that she is sick or needs surgery, but she does. This $8000 expense is just too much on top of everything else going on in life at the same time and the additional living expenses from inflation. I need help to help one of my very best friends.

We met Honey Biscuits when a friend was Fostering her for a local rescue. She had been through other Fosters and was not having any luck with finding a permanent home. When my friend posted about her it was love at first sight. My husband(then boyfriend) and I were getting ready to go on a trip but I asked if we could meet her. We knew as soon as we met the dog for us. With boundless energy Honey Biscuits filled our home & family with love and laughter. Even those that were not dog lovers could not help to adore this sweet goofy girl. Honey Biscuits cheers up anyone around her when they are down. She helped me get through a Double Mastectomy and then my battle with COVID in March 2020 which turned into long COVID. Without any official training Honey Biscuits on her own became my much needed Cardiac alert Dog. I know suffer from Postural Hypertension, Vertigo and Falls. Honey Biscuits alerts me when needed. Honey Biscuits has a partial ACL tear and we were in the process of trying to see if rest & meds would help it heal when she completely tore the other side. My father passed away from a surgery complication & we had just got back in town from a very long car trip. I took her out in our back yard there was an animal there. Even with her bad knee she went after it and then tore the other ACL. My husband lost his job at the end of last year & has been working hard to build a new business. With my ongoing health problems I have not been able to go back to work. We got in a car accident on the day of my father’s funera & were hit from behind setting us back again.

I got Bailey a little over 10 years ago from someone who was just giving her away.. once I saw her I was in love I took her home and have been loving her for years Bailey is attached at the hip and has slept by my side since I brought her home she is super sweet and loves to be pet all day long she is also a bed hog She loves unconditionally she makes my heart so happy she watches out the window when I leave and waits for me to come home super excited like I’m the only thing that matters to her Bailey suddenly fell gravely ill Thursday night became lethargic and peeing blood very dehydrated she was admitted to the emergency hospital the following night after a vet saw her and don’t have equipment for testing and she was not in good shape her gums were very white I am a single mom who lives paycheck to paycheck I never expected this to ever happen to my baby and I have no way to come up with it she is only 10 years young and still has a lot of love to give and receive

I am writing on behalf of one of my best friends, Wesley. Wesley lost his mom last year, and has been cripplingly depressed and suicidal ever since. One of the reasons he is so depressed is that his beloved dog, Havoc, a 9 year old Great Dane/Boxer mix, has a large perianal mass extruding from his butt, and he can't afford the vet care to remove it. Wesley has had his two great dane/boxer mises since they were puppies. He bought them as a gift for his now 9 year old daughter. After Wesley's mom's unexpected death, Wesley was left caring for his mom's house, her pets, and his own pets with no other family support. He doesn't have any other family or friends besides myself to speak of, and he has been slowly wasting away from depression. Havoc is the sweetest boy. He loves to play, walk, and cuddle, just like any aging dog. He looks like he is in pain, as he constantly licks at his rear end, but otherwise, he is in good spirits and good health. Within the last 24 hours, he has started getting diarrhea, and he needs to get this mass removed ASAP. We think we can save his life by getting this sweet doggy some much needed vet care Havoc was diagnosed with a large perianal mass extruding from his butt, but the vet didn't think it looked cancerous. She said it appeared benign, but I couldn't afford the diagnostic testing to confirm it wasn't cancerous. The vet recommended removing the mass, and neutering Havoc at the same time, as he is un-neutered and one of this testicles is much larger than the other. Wesley has been paying the mortgage for his mothers house, which he can barely afford. He is barely surviving financially, and he doesn't have the money for Havoc's surgery. My low-income vet quoted us at between $1600-1750 for the mass removal and a neuter at the same time

Chloe came into our lives as a rescue dog. We got her to be a big sister to our other dog, Lula, because Chloe had a vivacious energy about her that to this day has allowed her and her sister to lead energetic and wonderful lives. Chloe is the most docile, loving, happy and sweet girl. She snuggles on the couch every night, and loves nothing more than do run outside and play with her sisters. Or at least she used to until her medical condition arose. Being a coonhound, Chloe used to love running out in the fields chasing butterflies, and anything else that moved. Although she never was able to catch anything fortunately. Her strong sense of smell has allowed her to be a pup that loves to explore. A few months ago we came home from vacation and noticed Chloe was losing weight. Normally she is approximately 85 lb and solid muscle. Over the next few weeks she wasn't eating and got all the way down to 60 lb. When we finally were able to get into the Vet we were told that she was severely diabetic. Within a couple weeks after Her diagnosis she went completely blind with the lenses in her eyes becoming totally opaque. Now when we go for walks I have to have her on a leash. She cannot run and play like she used to and she seemingly has lost her zest for life. This absolutely breaks my heart and I would give anything for her to have the ability to see you again so that she can play with her sister and live out the rest of her life being active, happy, and chasing butterflies again. The surgery to have her regain her sight his upwards of $6,000 which is just not feasible for my single income with having to take care of my daughter and all the bills that most everybody has nowadays. It would be wonderful if somehow this site were able to give Chloe back the gift of site. I am a divorced single father who is taking care of my older brother and my teenage daughter. I lost my job last year and I am currently working another job but I half the income that I was making. This is not a sob story. I am doing fine and I will make ends meet. But as for Chloe, they're simply no way I can get her the surgery to have her regain and thus allow her to live a healthy active life again.

My sweet little Pomeranian Chloe came into my life from a local shelter Wayside Waifs on April 11, 2023 when she was 10 weeks old. She was released from a puppy mill along with her sister and mother. I also have a 11 year old rescue Pom and a 12 year old rescue cat. I lost my 16 year old Pomeranian I had from puppyhood last October the previous year and Chloe helps to fill that void. Chloe is such a sweet little girl. I would love to have her become a therapy dog to visit people in nursing homes and any facility to cheer people up because of her gentle nature. I also have a 11 year old Pomeranian named Koby that I rescued 4 years ago. Chloe loves people and gets very excited when seeing and greeting others! She can't go for walks like other dogs. I'm hoping someday she can. Chloe is a happy little girl despite her knees popping with every step she takes. She can't run like she did when she was 10 weeks old due to her stage 4 luxating patellas. She walks a few steps and has to rest. She would be running around like a puppy if she could. Sometimes she has to lie down when eating. Chloe loves people and people love her! Chloe was diagnosed with grade 1 luxating patellas at 8 weeks old at the shelter. Her condition has progressed to stage 4 with limping and sitting a lot do to her inability to walk properly now at 8 months old. Her vet is Dr. John Lyle at Crest Animal Hospital in Kansas City MO. I'm hoping that someday Chloe can become a therapy dog visiting retirement homes, nursing homes and children in need. Chloe's surgery will cost around $1800 for each knee. I don't have the money to pay for her surgery. It would be wonderful to see my little Chloe running and jumping around like other dogs. She doesn't deserve to be in pain. Any donation will help this sweet little girl.

Lola came to my life 15 years ago. She was born at home. From the very first moment we fell in love with her. Her mom and dad names were Mia and Sammy. They both pasted away. Lola is a very shy dog. She is always near us. She gets along with our pet cats Nena and Chispa. They love her so much. When Lola goes outside the cats goes crazy crying because the don’t see her. Lola sleeps with us on our bed. When she was young she use to play with many toys. Now she does not feel well. She doesn’t hear any more. She understand us because we use our hands to comunícate with her. Lola has a lovely smile. Her eyes are so beautiful. When she looks at you you will know how much she loves you. When we are not at home my neighbor tells us she cries. She gets so happy when we arrive. Lola is being treated with Dr. Gonzales at the Clinical Veterinary RG. He want to operate her. She has a mama tumor. He also wants to refer her to a specialist in cancer. She doesn’t hear any more. She needs to be treated so bad. She is in pain. I am asking for help because I don’t have money for paying. It is too expensive. Please help Lola be happy again.
