Blueberry

Blueberry is a 3 month old Mix-Breed in Kernersville, NC, who needs $500 for Evaluation and Treatment.

Kernersville, NC • Flopsy's Friends Foundation

Blueberry has lived in a foster home since late July, coming into her foster's life as a birthday present! Blueberry showed up at the local shelter after being hit by a car. Part of her Right back leg and foot had been removed in the accident, her ear and shoulder were injured and hairless, her nose was scraped up, handling her was painful. She happily lives with 2 leg injury kittens but hurts. Blueberry is currently experiencing some pain and it is unknown whether it is from her leg or back. As far as we know she never had full imaging after her accident. A local vet is concerned she may have had some serious fractures. She requires a thorough vet examination and care to control her pain and keep her mobile as she deserves to continue being a typical kitten! Blueberry is bonded with Peach, another kitten who was hit by a car. They came into care about the same age and have been on their journey together. They love to snuggle, explore, and chase one another. Blueberry loves thick comforters, her snuggle-safe heater, pom-pom toys, and tunnels. She also loves to sit on my back! We are a new non-profit feline rescue. We've had some animals come into our care needing help NOW before we've secured funding to begin operations the way we had hoped. Waiting on care is not an option. Blueberry is too sweet to live with pain!

Brookeville, MD • Knine Rescue Inc

Knife Rescue Inc. (Brookeville, MD) With the support of the DOGust Waggle Grant, Knine Rescue Inc. aims to expand our efforts in saving lives and promoting responsible pet practices through comprehensive community outreach and targeted interventions. How the DOGust Waggle Grant Will Be Utilized The funds awarded through the DOGust Waggle Grant will be instrumental in supporting our key initiatives: rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters, enhancing our spay/neuter and microchipping programs, and expanding our educational outreach. 1. Expansion of Rescue Operations: Enhanced Shelter Partnerships: We will strengthen existing partnerships and establish new ones with high-kill shelters across the country. This will involve logistical support to rescue more dogs and facilitate their transfer to our care or partner organizations. Transportation and Care Costs: Funds will be allocated to cover the costs of transporting dogs from high-kill shelters to our facilities, including fuel, vehicle maintenance, and safe transport conditions. Additionally, we will cover medical expenses such as vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and treatments for any illnesses or injuries. 2. Spay/Neuter and Microchipping Programs Spay/Neuter Services: To prevent overpopulation, we will use grant funds to subsidize spay/neuter surgeries for dogs in our care and for dogs in underserved communities. This includes partnerships with veterinary clinics to provide low-cost spay/neuter services. Microchipping: We will ensure that every dog rescued and adopted through our program is microchipped. The grant will support the costs of microchips and the associated registration fees. Additionally, we will provide microchipping services to community members who may not otherwise afford them, helping to reduce the number of lost pets entering shelters. 3. Community Outreach and Education Awareness Campaigns: We will launch educational campaigns to promote the importance of spaying/neutering and microchipping. This will include social media campaigns, local events, and informational workshops. Educational Materials: The grant will fund the creation and distribution of educational materials, such as brochures, flyers, and online resources, to inform the public about responsible pet ownership practices and the benefits of spaying/neutering and microchipping. 4. Foster Care and Adoption Support Foster Network Expansion: To accommodate the increased number of rescued dogs, we will expand our network of foster homes. The grant will support foster families with supplies, veterinary care, and training resources. Adoption Events: We will organize and fund adoption events to increase the visibility of our rescued dogs and facilitate their placement in forever homes. These events will also include educational components about responsible pet ownership. Targeted Community Impact The DOGust Waggle Grant will significantly enhance our ability to address the issues faced by high-kill shelters and support responsible pet ownership. Our efforts will have a direct impact on: • Reducing Euthanasia Rates: By rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters and increasing adoption rates, we will decrease the number of dogs euthanized due to overcrowding. • Preventing Overpopulation: Through our spay/neuter programs, we will contribute to controlling the dog population and preventing future overpopulation crises. • Improving Pet Reunification: Microchipping will facilitate the quick return of lost dogs to their families, reducing the number of dogs entering shelters and improving their chances of being reunited with their owners. • Educating the Public: Our outreach initiatives will raise awareness about responsible pet ownership, leading to more informed and proactive pet guardians. The support of the DOGust Waggle Grant will enable Knine Rescue Inc. to expand our lifesaving efforts, enhance our spay/neuter and microchipping programs, and educate the public about responsible pet ownership. By investing in these critical areas, we will save more lives, prevent future overpopulation, and promote a culture of compassion and responsibility toward pets. Mission Knine Rescue Inc. is dedicated to transforming the lives of dogs across the nation by rescuing them from high-kill shelters, providing them with essential care, and ensuring they find loving, permanent homes. Our work extends beyond rescue; we are committed to educating the public on crucial aspects of responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter procedures and microchipping.

Fluffy

Fluffy is a 8 year old Chihuahua in Sun Prairie , WI, who needs $1,277 for Mass Removal Grade 2 and Extensive Dental Work.

Sun Prairie, WI

Fluffy came into our lives by a foster fail. He’s an amazing addition to our family. We do have two other dogs and one of them is a bonded pair with fluffy. Before fluffy came to me he was kept outside the majority of his life. Now he sleeps in the house sometimes on the bed with me and has a fenced in yard. We recently saw some thing on the side of fluffy mouth and quickly went to check it out by the vet. Turns out he has an abscess that needs to be removed and checked if it’s cancer. On top of that he needs dental work. He is 8 1/2 years old. Wisconsin veterinarian clinic that used to be Spay me will be the one that will be performing the surgery and any other medical needs after that. My pet is special because he is part of the family and had a hard life before he came to us. Like I mentioned earlier he is a bonded pair with my other dog Diego. He is scared of the thunder and very anxious and nervous upon meeting new people. Fluffy and the rest of my dogs are like my children. Fluffy’s behavior is extremely loving, warm and cuddling. I am a disabled widowed mother of two adult children. Which one was just diagnosed with aggressive Crohn’s disease. A fractured my foot and lost my job. This unexpected sadness about fluffy has made it sad because I am unable to come up with the funds to make him better.

Rosie

Rosie is a 6-year-old Terrier Mix in McDonough, GA, who needs $900 for Liver Treatment for Pancreatitis.

McDonough, GA

We got Rosie from family who couldn't care for her anymore and she is the missing piece for our home 💔. She has come a long way from being in a crate 24/7 to being in a full house and she loves it. She has a bed and toy box full of toys under the dining table, but she prefers to sleep at night next to my bed on whatever laundry I've taken off and thrown on the floor 😅 Rosie loves to play, she will play anyway she can. If you're doing something she is right there wanting to help and be praised. Fluffy toys are her favorite things and she'll play for hours with them even by herself. She often plays with cats, slapping with her paws and scooting in circles as the cats chase her down the hall 🤣 Rosie is everyone's best friend and biggest fan, she is the first one to greet you at the door and the last one to tuck in at night. She absolutely HATES the squirrels and their attempts to enter the attic through the roof out back. Although once one did fall out of the tree RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER and she froze! She was terrified 😨 then it ran and she chased 😂 Rosie has come down with pancrastitis, it was sudden and violent sickness. I was so scared I would loose her. In a matter of minutes the excited loving puppy I let out to pee was lethargic and shaking. Blood and fluids everywhere, we rushed her to the animal hospital, where they were able to hydrate and medicate her and saved her life. We have carecredit for emergencies but this surpassed anything I was prepared for. After maxing out the 2200 dollars of credit I was eligible for I still need another 900 dollars that I just don't have. I've scraped and stretched everything before asking for assistance
