Luca
Luca is a 5 year old Mix-Breed in Lantana, FL, who needs $265 for diagnostics and treatment for limp.
Lantana, FL • Florida’s Forgotten Felines, inc.
A few weeks ago, a community cat named Luca showed up at a feeding station limping badly. His pain was obvious, but thankfully, Florida’s Forgotten Felines was able to trap him and rush him to the vet. X-rays showed that Luca had a serious injury requiring strict rest. The vet recommended he be confined for six weeks to give his leg a chance to heal before rechecking. If his injury doesn’t heal on its own, Luca may need a complicated surgery to repair it. Since then, Luca has been recovering in a volunteer’s bedroom. He’s on pain medication, and to everyone’s relief, he’s been doing very well so far. In just a few weeks, he’ll go back for repeat x-rays to see if his leg is healing properly—or if surgery will be needed to give him a pain-free life. Florida’s Forgotten Felines is committed to seeing Luca through, but his care comes with heavy costs. That’s where you come in. With your support, we can make sure Luca gets the medical care, diagnostics, and treatment he needs—whether rest is enough or surgery is required. Update 10 12 25 Luca is doing well inside in foster. He loves lounging in the window sill and taking naps in the sun. He still has a limp when he walks and will be going back to the vet soon for a follow-up. Thank you for your support and helping Luca heal!

Bert
Urgent Help Needed for Bert’s Liver Treatment
Lantana, FL • Florida’s Forgotten Felines, inc.
Florida’s Forgotten Felines, a small volunteer-run rescue dedicated to caring for and rescuing community cats, recently discovered that Bert, a sweet colony cat, had been missing for 5 days and returned very ill. At his first appointment, Bert underwent a comprehensive examination, including X-rays, blood work, flea treatment, and a SNAP test to check for underlying illnesses The results were alarming: Bert’s liver values were extremely high, indicating that he may have been exposed to a toxin or harmful substance during his time away. His condition required close monitoring and follow-up care to ensure his recovery and prevent further complications. Bert is scheduled for a follow-up appointment where he will undergo additional blood work to track his liver health and ensure he is responding to treatment. Every test, procedure, and veterinary visit comes with a cost, and as a very small volunteer-run organization, Florida’s Forgotten Felines relies entirely on the generosity of donors to provide lifesaving care for cats like Bert. This organization’s mission is to care for and rescue community cats who often have no one else to turn to. They work tirelessly to provide food, shelter, medical care, and love to cats in need, but they cannot do it without support.
