Burrito
Burrito the paralyzed pup had an unexpected trip to the vet and needs your help.
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
Flying Pigs Sanctuary is caring for an incredible pup named Burrito. They refer to him as the paralyzed pup who refuses to let anything slow him down. He now proudly walks (or should we say _wobbles_!) on his own, but he had an unexpected trip to the vet recently. Like many "down dogs," Burrito will likely battle urinary tract infections throughout his life. Because these infections can become serious very quickly, they never take any chances. At the first sign of trouble, he was off to the veterinarian for treatment. Flying Pigs Sanctuary is asking for a little help covering the cost so Flying Pigs Sanctuary can continue saying "yes" whenever Burrito needs care. Every donation, no matter the size, helps keep this amazing boy healthy, happy, and wobbling his way through life. Thank you for loving Burrito as much as we all do.

Cheddar
Help this sweet kitten's leg heal.
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
Flying Pig Sanctuary recently rescued a tiny orange kitten who limping and had a badly swollen leg. They feared the worst and rushed him to the vet, worried he had suffered a broken leg. Thankfully, X-rays brought good news—his leg wasn't broken. Instead, the swelling was most likely caused by one of his feral siblings playing a little too rough but leaving a painful bite. Cheddar may have started life as a frightened feral kitten, but today he's become the sweetest little boy and is receiving treatment to heal his leg. They never take chances when it comes to their animals, and they're so grateful they were able to get him the care he needed immediately. His veterinary visit cost was $187.50. If you'd like to help cover Cheddar's medical expenses so Flying Pigs Sanctuary can continue saying "yes" to kittens and animals in need, any donation—big or small—would mean the world. Thank you for helping us give sweet cats like Cheddar the second chance they deserve. 7/22/26 Update Thank you for helping to cover Cheddar's medical bills. Thanks to you, Cheddar is well on his way to recovery and finding his forever home. Because of you, Flying Pigs Sanctuary is able to keep rescuing animals in need.

Sampson
Sampson was never meant to die alone.
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
When Flying Pigs Sanctuary set the trap, they thought Sampson was just another feral cat who needed to be neutered and returned. But the moment they got him into their hands, they knew something wasn't right. He had a large, painful wound on his leg. His body was worn down from years of surviving outside. His eyes told the story of an old soul who had simply run out of strength. Then came the test results. FIV Positive. In that moment, everything changed. Returning Samson to the streets was no longer an option. The funny thing was... he didn't act like a feral cat at all. Whether he had once belonged to someone or whether life on the streets had simply defeated him, Sampson quietly accepted gentle touches. It was as if, after all those years, he had finally decided to trust someone enough to ask for help. Thankfully, one of their incredible volunteers and foster moms fell in love with him and opened her home, her heart, and her wallet. For weeks, she cared for him through painful wound treatments, multiple veterinary visits, surgeries on his leg, endless bandage changes, medications, and countless hours of love and patience. Slowly, the frightened old tomcat transformed into a cherished member of her family. But saving him wasn't cheap. Flying Pigs Animal Sanctuary covered his dental care—about $500. His incredible foster spent over $1,000 of her own money treating his leg and giving him the medical care he desperately needed. This is the side of TNR that most people never see. Sometimes you trap a "feral" cat... and instead you discover a senior who just needed someone to notice he was suffering. Those are the moments that stretch every dollar we have, and we are desperately asking for your help to cover the cost of his medical bills.

Honey
Honey's sweet second chance
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
At first glance, Honey looks like any other playful 8-week-old kitten. But what you can't see is that she's a Panleukopenia survivor. Panleuk has ripped through kitten communities this spring, and despite every precaution Flying Pigs Sanctuary takes to protect the kittens in their care, it found its way into one of their foster homes. Honey wasn't alone. She and her brother, Baer, were fighting the same terrible virus. Sadly, Baer was simply too sick. Despite everything they tried, they couldn't save him. The moment they lost Baer, they shifted into prevention mode for Honey. They threw everything they had at giving her the best chance possible before the virus could take hold. Even with early intervention, Honey became critically ill and spent two days hospitalized, receiving around-the-clock care that ultimately saved her life. That care came with a price: $2,300. Which is why we're asking for your help. Please consider making a donation toward Honey's medical expenses. Every dollar helps them recover the cost of saving her life so they can say "yes" to the next kitten who needs them.

Tigress
Tigress needs your help to overcome cancer.
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
Meet Tigress. She came into the lives of Flying Pigs Sanctuary during a rescue that they say none of them will ever forget. They were originally called to help a pig whose owner had passed away suddenly. The pig had been confined indoors for over seven years and was unable to walk. While they were working to get him to safety, they learned there were other animals still on the property. That’s when they met this sweet girl. What they saw that day was heartbreaking. Tigress was suffering from one of the worst skin conditions they had ever seen. Her back and neck were covered in raw, painful wounds that had clearly been untreated for a very long time. The family loved her but simply didn’t have the resources to get her the veterinary care she desperately needed. She was 12, and had NEVER been to a vet. Although their sanctuary was already at capacity and they could not take Tigress in permanently, they could not walk away from her suffering. They committed to getting her the care she deserved and to helping her find a place where she could live out her remaining time surrounded by love. After veterinary evaluation, they learned the wounds on her back and neck were cancerous tumors. Even though their veterinary team was able to surgically remove them, the cancer came back. Tigress is an old lady and what she needs now is to simply to be loved. Despite everything she has endured, Tigress remains incredibly affectionate with people. She craves human attention and lights up when someone spends time with her. She is potty trained, enjoys going for walks on or off the leash and has been very easy to care for in a home setting. She is a bit stiff these days, so she is currently on joint and pain medication to keep her comfortable but she’s found sanctuary, and we will love her until it’s her time. If you would also like to show Tigress some love, please donate any amount that you can. It will go directly toward paying her medical bills and giving her the best care possible. Thank you.

Saba
Please help Saba overcome extreme starvation.
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
Saba was little more than skin and bones when we found her. Every rib, every hip bone, every vertebra was visible beneath her battered body. Open wounds covered her skin, and she was so weak that simply standing took everything she had left. She had been surviving for far too long with almost nothing, and without immediate intervention, she likely wouldn't have survived much longer. She was discovered in the middle of the day, lying in plain sight as countless people walked past without stopping. Somehow, despite the pain and exhaustion, she was still trying to hold herself up. When we approached, she didn't run or resist. She quietly accepted our help, too exhausted to do anything else. Lifting her into our arms was heartbreaking—she weighed almost nothing. Saba's body condition score is just 1 out of 9, indicating extreme starvation. Her body has been forced to consume its own muscle and fat stores simply to stay alive. She also has multiple open wounds that have already attracted insects, a devastating reminder of how vulnerable she had become after being left to suffer alone. As soon as Saba arrived at the sanctuary, our team began emergency treatment. She's receiving IV fluids, careful nutritional support, pain management, and treatment for her wounds. Because she's so severely malnourished, every meal has to be introduced slowly and monitored closely to avoid complications. The next several days will be critical as we watch for signs that her body is beginning to recover. Saba's fight isn't over, and she can't do this without help. Your donation will provide the lifesaving care she urgently needs, including hospitalization, medications, wound care, specialized nutrition, and around-the-clock monitoring. Saba spent far too long being overlooked. Today, you have the opportunity to show her that her life matters. Thank you for helping us give this sweet girl the second chance she deserves.

Earle Grey
Earle Grey's road to recovery is not done yet.
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
Flying Pigs Sanctuary rescued Earle Grey on April 24. Because he was so severely emaciated, he was immediately started on a refeeding program to help his body safely adjust to proper nutrition. He did wonderfully at first, gaining weight and finally getting a chance to experience life free from the padlock and chain he had endured. But over time, Earle began to get pickier with his food. It was difficult to know exactly what was wrong, because despite everything, he still had moments where he seemed bright and happy—especially if a cheeseburger was involved. His bloodwork looked great, and he still seemed perky, but we knew something wasn’t right. After multiple vet visits to try to get answers, everything changed this Monday. During an exam, their vet felt something unusual in Earle’s abdomen. X-rays quickly turned into an ultrasound, which revealed a large mass. Surgery was scheduled right away, but once their vet began the procedure, she became concerned that the mass was too extensive to safely remove herself. She closed him back up and immediately referred Earle to a specialist. The other day, that specialist removed a massive tumor—one of the largest she has ever seen. She believes she was able to get good margins, but there is still concern that the mass is cancerous. Right now, they are holding onto hope that it was caught in time and that Earle can finally have the healthy, happy life he has always deserved. His veterinary care has already totaled $7,000, and they need help covering the cost of giving Earle a chance. If you’re able to donate, every dollar will go toward his lifesaving care and recovery. Thank you for your generosity.

Lt. Dan
This special guy needs your help.
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
Meet Lt. Dan 💔 Lt. Dan is just 2 months old, but he’s already faced more than any kitten ever should. Born into a feral colony with disabilities, he never would have survived on his own. Flying Pigs Sanctuary knew they had to step in. Now safe at their rescue, Lt. Dan is getting the care he desperately needs—a special diet, acupuncture, physical therapy, and soon surgery to remove his painful eye. Despite everything, he’s still fighting, and we’re fighting right alongside him. Please help us give Lt. Dan the chance at a comfortable, happy life, where his disabilities won't hold him back. Your donation will go directly toward his medical care and ongoing treatment. Every dollar makes a difference for this tiny fighter. 7/17/26 Update Lt. Dan is crushing it in physical therapy! He is everyone's favorite kitten. We still want to have an MRI done to figure out exactly what's going on. 7/25/26 Update We still want to get Lt. Dan an MRI, but with all the animals we're dealing with at the moment, the cost is way too high. It will cost several thousand dollars. We desperately want to do this for him because he deserves it but we can't do it without your help. Every little bit helps. Thank you!

Dixie
Dixie needed a second chance.
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
When sweet senior terrier Dixie suddenly stopped feeling like herself, her family knew something was wrong. She lost her appetite, developed severe diarrhea, and just wasn't the happy little dog they knew and loved. After an initial veterinary visit, they were told her symptoms were likely related to neck pain. But something didn't feel right. Trusting their instincts, they sought a second opinion—and we're so grateful they did. Flying Pigs Sanctuary veterinarian discovered two tumors in Dixie's mammary glands and found that she was in desperate need of a dental procedure. The answers they had been searching for were finally found. As part of their community outreach program, Flying Pigs Animal Sanctuary helps families facing overwhelming veterinary costs. After already spending money on a visit that didn't uncover the real problem, Dixie's family was struggling to afford the treatment she desperately needed. They stepped in to cover the cost of her surgery to remove the tumors and give her the dental care she needed. Every donation goes towards covering Dixie's medical care. If you'd like to help Flying Pigs Sanctuary continue providing her the best care and support, please consideration making a donation of any size today. Together, we're giving animals like Dixie the second chance they deserve 7/17/26 Update Thanks to all of you, Dixie is doing fantastic! She has made a great recovery, and her eating has greatly improved. She is running around and feeling like a brand new dog. It wouldn't have been possible without the support from all of you.

Hazy
Please help Hazy in her golden years.
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
Two years ago, Hazy's life was hanging in the balance. At 10 years old, her family planned to euthanize her simply because she was old and thin. When she came to Flying Pigs Sanctuary, she was heartworm positive, riddled with worms, and desperately needed help. Thanks to the support of animal lovers like you, Hazy got a second chance. She overcame her illnesses, gained strength, and has spent the last two years thriving and enjoying the life she deserves. Recently, however, Hazy began limping. After a veterinary exam, they received heartbreaking news: she is suffering from severe arthritis. While we can't turn back the clock, we can help keep her comfortable and pain-free in her golden years. Hazy's recent veterinary visit totaled $350, and her arthritis medications cost an additional $225. We're asking for help covering these unexpected expenses so we can continue giving Hazy the care she needs. Every donation, no matter the size, helps ensure that Hazy's second chance remains a happy one. Thank you for loving senior dogs like Hazy and helping them keep her tail wagging.

Mr. Beans
Mr. Beans was infested with maggots and covered in wounds. Please show him love.
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
This larger-than-life Kunekune pig with the sweetest, most outgoing personality is finally safe. Mr. Beans came to Flying Pigs Sanctuary thanks to the incredible team at Chain Free USA in Knoxville, who discovered him while helping a family build fencing for chained dogs in Bean Station, TN. His family loved him deeply, but after multiple dog attacks, they made the difficult decision to surrender him so he could have a safer future. Like many pigs, Mr. Beans started life indoors before eventually being moved outside as he grew. Despite everything, he is litterbox trained, knows how to sit, and acts more like a dog than a pig. You can truly see the intelligence and relief in his eyes now that he knows he's safe. ❤️ Mr. Beans arrived with painful wounds infested with maggots that needed immediate treatment. Their vet met with them the next morning to treat the wounds, and on Sunday, their amazing volunteers transported him for a safe neuter procedure due to the anesthesia risks larger pigs face. If you are able to help cover any of the cost for Mr. Bean's medical treatment, we would be so grateful. Thank you.

TNR
Please help Little Jack and other TNR cats.
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
With vet bills piling up faster than Flying Pigs Sanctuary can keep up with, they are facing the heartbreaking reality that they may have to PAUSE their trapping efforts. And that is absolutely destroying them… because TNR is what PREVENTS tragedies like this from happening in the first place. Last week they pulled little Jack from the 30-cat colony and rushed him straight to the vet. At just 1lb, putting him under anesthesia is VERY risky, but without surgery and treatment, infection could take his life. Right now, Jack is hospitalized, and they are anxiously waiting for updates, hoping that this tiny fighter pulls through. Thanks to one of their incredible volunteers, they were also able to pull 4 more adult cats from the property that are now getting spayed and neutered. That leaves just 2 adults and 3 kittens remaining. They are so close to finishing this colony… but financially, it has completely wiped this compassionate rescue out. We cannot stop now. Please, if you are able, consider donating to help us continue trapping, provide emergency medical care, and finish saving these cats before more kittens are born into suffering. Thank you for your continued support.

Phantasia
Please help Phantasia heal from a crushed leg.
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
Phantasia has always been part of the heart behind Flying Pigs Sanctuary. She belongs to the family who helps care for so many rescued animals. However, in a devastating accident, Phantasia’s back leg was run over and crushed. What started as an ordinary day turned into an emergency no one could have prepared for. She was rushed in for immediate care, and the only way to save her leg was a complex surgery costing $6,000. Her family, who gives so much to help animals in need, simply did not have the means to cover such an overwhelming expense. So Flying Pigs Sanctuary stepped in for her—just as they do for so many others. Phantasia underwent the surgery and, thankfully, she is recovering beautifully. But the financial weight of that lifesaving procedure and her ongoing aftercare still remains. Now we are asking for help for one of our own. Donations will go directly toward covering Phantasia’s surgery bill and the continued care she needs to heal fully. Any amount makes a difference and helps ease the burden on a family that has dedicated themselves to helping animals every single day. Please consider supporting Phantasia’s recovery and standing beside the people who so often stand up for others.

Earl Grey
Urgent and heartbreaking: Earl Grey desperately needs you
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
This is one of the most urgent and heartbreaking cases Flying Pigs Sanctuary has ever seen, and they desperately need your help to care for this sweet boy they named Early Grey. All winter long, they checked on this dog. He was padlocked to a chain behind a house. He had a dog house—but no straw. Every time the temperatures dropped, they brought him straw so he wouldn’t freeze. Despite everything, he was always so friendly. The owner allowed them to visit when they came by, and they held onto that small window of access to at least make him a little more comfortable. When the weather warmed up, they didn’t check on him as often. He had been a healthy weight all winter, and while his situation was awful, they felt stuck—knowing the only other option would be something drastic, like cutting the chain and taking him, which could have put everything at risk. Then they got a report about a very skinny dog at that same location. They were shocked. They did drive-bys, trying to confirm it was him but never saw him. Weeks passed. Another rescue stepped in and reported it. The shelter attempted to get the owner to surrender him, but the man refused. They were told there wasn’t much else they could do. A neighbor had been feeding him… and they were left trying to figure out how to help, but they also didn’t have space for another dog. But incredibly, a woman stepped up to foster who had walked up to the man's house—and without hesitation, the man said: “Take him. I don’t want him anymore.” Just like that. He is now SAFE and in Flying Pig Sanctuary's care and his new foster home. But sadly, he is in very rough shape. They are monitoring his food intake extremely carefully because refeeding too quickly could kill him. He urgently needs a full veterinary evaluation, and they are already stretched thin with the number of animals depending on them right now. If you are able to give any amount, it would be greatly appreciated. Early Grey and Flying Pigs Sanctuary need you to bring this sweet boy back to health. Thank you. 6/18/26 Update Thank you to everyone who supported Earl Grey through a hard time. As it turns out, the vet found a large mass in his abdomen. He is scheduled to have surgery and is hoping that it is not cancer.

Possum
Please help Possum get out of the hospital.
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
Meet Possum--he has a severe UTI (no crystals, thankfully), and Flying Pigs Sanctuary started treatment right away. And then a few days ago, he started vomiting. At first, he seemed okay, but after finding a piece of cellophane (he loves eating things he shouldn’t), they didn’t want to risk waiting. They immediately headed to the emergency clinic in Chattanooga at 9:30 PM. The vet found his bladder to be very full and couldn’t be expressed—they suspected the infection had caused a blockage, but they also couldn’t rule out intestinal blockage, so they moved forward with hospitalization. X-Rays confirmed no intestinal blockage, and even under sedation, they were unable to express his bladder. They then had to insert a catheter, which confirmed blood in his urine. The good news is they caught it early, but he’ll need to stay hospitalized for a few more days. Possum sleeps on his caretaker's chest every night, so not having him here is really hard. He has a dog best friend named Goose, who is also missing him dearly, as they love to cuddle. Needless to say, things feel empty without him. There’s just something special about the little man. FPS is already at $5,100+ in medical bills, and they are still climbing. If you’re able to give any amount, it would be so greatly appreciated. They are in desperate need of your help to care for Possum, on top of the many other animals they are caring for. Thank you for your continued support.

Hamilton
Hamilton needs your help to receive hoof care and other medical needs.
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
Meet Hamilton. He arrived at Flying Pigs Sanctuary as a temporary boarder when his family had to relocate overseas for work. But when he got to the sanctuary, it was clear he needed more than a place to stay. Hamilton was morbidly obese, his hooves were painfully overgrown, and he could barely walk. On top of the physical toll, he was carrying something just as heavy—loneliness from missing the family he loved. With patience, proper care, and a whole lot of love, Hamilton’s life has begun to change. Today, he’s known as the king of belly rubs, happily flopping over the moment he gets attention. His gentle, sweet nature shines through, and he’s become a source of joy to everyone around him. So far, Hamilton has lost 35 pounds —with another 35 still to go—and once he reaches his goal weight, he’ll head to UT for a full health evaluation. But transformations like Hamilton’s don’t happen without ongoing care, time, and resources. We’re asking for your help to continue his journey. Donations go directly toward his specialized diet, hoof care, medical needs, and the support he needs to reach a healthy, happy life. Every contribution helps Hamilton take another step—literally and figuratively—toward the future he deserves.

Daddy Long Legs
Daddy Long Legs Was Already Given Up On- Let’s Be The Help He Needs
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
Meet Daddy, affectionately known as Daddy Long Legs, a senior cat with the longest legs we’ve ever seen and a heart even bigger than his stride. Daddy was found through our TNR program launched on January 1, 2026, when we began working a colony of over 25 cats in our rural community. What we expected to find were mostly feral cats in need of spay and neuter. What we discovered instead was heartbreaking — so many were friendly, clearly once someone’s pets, likely dumped when families moved away. Daddy didn’t hesitate. He walked straight up to us. He climbed into our arms. And he held on. It was as if he was saying, “Please don’t leave me here.” He was thin. His coat was rough from poor nutrition. He had a scar on his arm. But despite it all, he was immediately loving, gentle, and trusting. We rushed him to our veterinarian for a full exam and bloodwork. The good news? Overall, Daddy is healthy. He simply needed to be dewormed and have a much-needed dental procedure (with quite a few teeth that had ti be pulled)to relieve discomfort and set him up for a comfortable future. Daddy is just one of 60 cats we’ve saved in 60 days through this program. The need in our rural community is staggering. Friendly cats are being abandoned. Unfixed cats are multiplying. And every single one deserves safety and care. This fundraiser will help cover Daddy’s vet bill so we can continue to say “yes” when the next cat climbs into our arms asking for help. Because when they ask us not to leave them behind, we don’t. Thank you for helping Daddy Long Legs take his next long steps toward a safe, loved future. 🖤 6/24/26 Update Thank you to everyone who supported this absolute sweetie through his healing journey. Burrito
Burrito’s Comeback Journey
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
In May 2025, Flying Pig Sanctuary rescued Burrito from a property where he had been dumped alongside 25 other dogs. He had zero use of his hind end. He was skin and bones. Covered in hundreds of ticks. And emotionally, he was very close to giving up. That first day, as we bathed him and gently removed ticks from his frail body, something incredible happened. His tail wagged. That small movement told us everything: there was still fight in him. We rushed Burrito to a neurologist. After a CT scan and MRI, we learned this wasn’t a traumatic injury — it was a virus that had attacked his spine and deteriorated two vertebrae. The infection and inflammation had robbed him of movement, but his spinal cord was still intact. There was hope. We immediately began aggressive treatment to clear the infection and reduce the inflammation around the bone, praying that as his body healed, he might regain function. And Burrito has proven, over and over again, that he is a fighter. For months, he has traveled an hour and fifteen minutes each way to Chattanooga twice a week for acupuncture and intensive physical therapy, including the underwater treadmill. Through every appointment, every exercise, every long car ride, he has given it everything he has. Today, Burrito can: • Stand on his own • Take wobbly but determined steps • Hold himself upright And what he loves most? His wheelchair. On his wheels, Burrito runs with the pack — all 11 of our resident dogs. He plays. He chases. He cuddles. He sleeps in a pile of fur just like any other dog. Watching him come back from the brink of despair has been one of the most rewarding journeys we’ve ever experienced at the sanctuary. To continue Burrito’s progress, we need help with: • A new, improved custom wheelchair: $1,000–$1,500 • Weekly physical therapy & acupuncture: $250 per week • Ongoing travel expenses to Chattanooga Every dollar raised helps Burrito keep strengthening, healing, and defying the odds. Can you be the help he needs? 4/29/26 Update Thank you to everyone who supported Burrito on his healing journey! He is doing incredibly well! Flying Pigs Sanctuary recently took him to the vet for a UTI and to get a large bump on his hind leg checked out, but fortunately, it was nothing major, and Burrito is continuing to do well and is receiving lots of care and love. Ziggy and Piggy
Help Ziggy and Piggy Find Stability
Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary
Nearly two years ago, a customer walked into a slaughterhouse with a pregnant sow. She gave birth shortly after arriving. At the customer’s request, the mother was killed for meat, and as regulations require, the newborn piglets were placed in the offal barrel. (Offal barrels hold discarded organs and byproducts to be reused as feed.) But the piglets survived. Flying Pigs Sanctuary received a call from a woman whose son worked at the slaughterhouse and couldn’t walk away from those tiny souls. They were welcomed at Flying Pig Sanctuary. They bottle-fed them around the clock, keeping them warm and safe. Flying Pigs Sanctuary is caring for them and helping to get them vet care until they are healthy enough to go to one of the best pig sanctuaries in the country. In the meantime, they’ve been a wonderful addition to their land—clearing weeds, rooting through the pasture, and living as pigs should. But as much as they love them, their space and resources are limited, and they want to ensure they have the best possible future. Flying Pigs Sanctuary is caring for many pigs and desperately needs your help to keep doing so. If you can donate any amount, we would be so grateful that you helped provide Ziggy and Piggy with the best care possible. Thank you. 8/8/26 Update Thank you to everyone who supported Iggy and Ziggy, now named Frodo and Sam, on their healing journey. Thanks to you, they received the medical care they needed and are now living their best lives.
