She was recently rescued from a life of neglect. Her former owner was homeless off and on; she has spent much of her life on the streets. Recently, she was found abandoned and malnourished and sick in a dimly lit, unfinished basement living among rat droppings, mold, and dirt. She needs urgent surgery to repair a cruciate ligament injury on her left leg. Athena has found her forever home with me, but won't move in until after her surgery. She is the only pet (and only other being) in my home. She'll finally have security, plenty of sunbeams, a comfy bed and lots of toys and puzzles. Plus, I will be spending lots of time training her. She's a smart cookie who is eager to please, earn and explore. She has the most precious grin and thinks she's a lap dog. She is so gentle. She loves to cuddle and snooze in the sunlight. Nothing makes her happier than finding a good stick. There is more to this cute baby than we can see now - she deserves the opportunity to walk and run without pain, and to live in a stable household. For the first time, she's learning that life is more than pain. The wonderful women who rescued her used more than $1,000 of their own funds to get her the veterinary care she so desperately needed. More than food and clean water, Athena needed rounds of vaccines. She was dewormed and spayed. She needs urgent surgery to repair a cruciate ligament injury on her left leg, which will be performed at Blue Pearl, Northfield, IL. I am recently unemployed and cannot afford the full cost of the surgery. I am literally giving everything to see her run and play without pain. She deserves happiness, security and the opportunity to thrive!

My name is Biscuit, I was rescued from the Human Society when I was 10 weeks old by my forever family of 4. When I was about 2 my human brother asked my mom if she could watch his friends dog Panda for 3 weeks. Two years later we welcomed Panda into our home as my brother. I love all people and animals. When I see a human I think they are here to pet my tummy and the dogs are to play with me. Some of my favorite things to do are taking a walk in the woods, smelling the flowers, meeting the people and their dogs on the way. I enjoy doing tricks with my mom, like sit, high five, left and right turn. My favorite spot in my yard is the kids swing set. I climb the ladder and sit on the platform where I can see whos outside in the other yards. I don't bark at anyone or the other dogs. Panda and I have a great time together running around the backyard playing chase, and tug a war. We enjoy cuddling together. We sleep with the humans when we want or by ourselves on our big dog bed. So, at night we make the rounds and visit everyone. In the morning, we wake up each member of the family with hugs and kisses. When one of my humans is sad I stay with them, and put my head on lap. For the past 2 months I have tried medicines, which some made me sick. I am only allowed to go out to pee on a leash then back in to rest. The x-rays showed that I have a cranial cruciate ligament injury (in humans its equivalent to an ACL). I need this fixed so I can walk on all fours again. VCA Veterinary Specialists (Dr. Giangarra ) will do the surgery for $5,910.40-$7,388.00. Then its PT. My dad gave up having his own surgery. We don't have a working oven. Mom and Panda both suffer from anxiety. Mom is worrying so much she has had panic attacks and sever migraines where she can't function. Helping me would be helping my whole family. Allie escaped death at an animal shelter, and now she needs your help to get the medical care she needs. Her foster parent, Shawn D., tells Waggle the adorable dog got into something. "Allie broke into and messed up the bathroom because of a loud noise that startled her while I was at work. Allie was throwing up all day. After an X-ray, it's not clear if she was getting sick because of something she ate. I took her to Hickory Animal Hospital, where she was treated with much kindness," Shawn says. Poor Allie has had a rough go of things. Shawn reports that she was surrendered after running away, does not like shelters, and has some anxiety. "In the shelter, she bit the bars of her crate so much that she broke most of her teeth," Shawn says. Shawn is working with Allie to help ease her stress. "Allie does love cuddling and is very sweet but also very anxious," Shawn adds. "70% of the time, she stays out of trouble, but in that 30%, she can get very upset. She doesn't cause permanent damage primarily. She mostly just shuffles my shoes around in my closet. Most of the time, she wants to recline and relax. She can be a real snuggle pup, especially early in the morning." And Shawn wants you to know that Allie smiles. "I love that you can see the corners of her mouth turn up when she's content," Shawn says. "When Allie is ready to snuggle, there is no sweeter lady. She loves to get as close as possible before bed so she can show you how much she loves you!" Please help Allie smile again and get well!

I received my baby girl in Nov 2015 n she was 2 yrs old. My dog came from SPCA in Richmond, Va. My cousin pick her up n brought her to NC to me. I love my dog n she received all her shots n is well taking care of by myself. It us just me n her. We first lived in city n apt. Now we live in the country. I live by myself but she in very friendly n loves people n very playful. She loves to sleep under covers n be pet n have her belly rubbed. She is a lovable dog n love to give me kisses. She doesn't bark much unless she see a cat or sometimes another dog. My dog is very special to me n I don't want her to be in pain or get any worse than she is She loves attention n when I eat she sits there n talk to me asking for some. She has her couch n chair in the living room. I have a blanket on futon n show goes n lift it up n sleeps under the covers. She sleeps n my bed under covers too. I just want dog to get better because I have to return home to let her out n she goes bathroom in house sometimes which she never did before She is not on medication now but did receive antibiotics because she has a kidney stone that needs to b remove. Central Hospital Fayetteville NC. The animal place gave me the amount I need to pay for her surgery. She has had x-rays n finished her antibiotics last month. When she went back this month for her shot, they inform me she has lost weight. I am on disability n I receive enough to pay my bills. I would to see my baby healthier because a he frequently urinating n blood is coming out. She don't eat as much now n sleeps more. She wakes up all hours of morning to go outside to bathroom. Cinnamon is my late boyfriend's dog. He was the love of my life and now she is (and my Kitty Jezebel). Jimmy was a former Marine and beautiful man inside and out. Unfortunately he struggled with PTSD and alcoholism and he committed Suicide on 9/5/19. We lived together and two weeks before his horrible demise he asked me if anything happens to him will I take care of her. I said of course. Anyways sorry for the sad part of our story. Let's go to positive things! 🙂 Cinnamon is amazing and so smart. She loves all animals except squirrels lol. She literally goes everywhere with me. She loves treats lol, hiking, kayaking, and the water but she's not a fan of baths lol. She is my emotional support animal aka my best friend. She helps me with my PTSD and anxiety. Unfortunately I witnessed his demise and so did she. When I'm nervous or triggers she's always there looking at me pawing on my arm and I think she's trying to say, "Don't worry, we got this!!!" She loves her crazy sister Jezebel the kitty that we adopted a year ago but sometimes she gets annoyed with her 😆. She's all updated on vaccines but this last month she's been extremely uncomfortable. She's been itching and biting at her beautiful fur and she's lost a lot already. 😫 I take her to Ferndale Family Vets. They are saying it's a type of allergy and they're still not sure what's causing it exactly. She's on Apoquel and they want to start her on a food trial. They also found a fractured tooth and I don't know the cost but she needs a dental and extraction. I have PTSD, however I was working untiI I had an abdominal hysterectomy in July. I had a bunch of complications from it and was recently diagnosed with Crohn's disease. I'm planning on going back to work as soon as possible and normally wouldn't ask for help like this, it's kinda embarrassing.

A gift as soon as he was old enough to leave his mommy I was gifted this long sweet spunky baby boy and we have been together almost a year now he found him a loving home that's for sure he's spoiled to death and loves to cuddle and play as long as he's with mommy he's a happy boy as the same is with me He likes to run around the house and boy is he fatlst he has a million toys he loves to play with he climbs the curtains and he loves to play fight he also loves sleeping in bags he is a big cuddler and nudges you when he wants to be petted or held no matter the time of day or night very happy loving kitten My amazing baby boy loves to watch the toilet flush sleep in bags and jump in the shower while I'm in it unexpectedly he also loves to chase his tail and plays with his own reflection in the mirror he's so funny to sit back and watch at times it's really the only source of entertainment you really need My cat has all of a sudden struck I'll I'm not sure exactly what the issue is the vet gave him antibiotics but he's gradually getting worse and he needs to be seen again as soon as possible I got to Fayette county veterinary hospital in Washington court house Ohio and I recently spent almost 200$ on the last visit and just can't afford it again It's the holiday season and my bills are already high and I just paid out 200$ on the last vet visit recently almost couldn't get his medicine because the bill was to high it would be the best gift for the holidays to have him back healthy

My puppy caramel was a early Mother's Day gift for me. I absolutely love animals and when I saw her at the pet shop we went to I immediately fell in love we bought her and brought her home and she adjusted to our home and our children as well pretty quickly and we all immediately just fell in love with the type of puppy she was and the personality she has Caramel is very good with our children we do not have any other pets in the home so it's just her she gets a lot of love and attention she gets a lot of play time with several different toys that we've bought her or when the kids want to play with her she's very gentle with them she's very gentle with us when we take her out about she is very good outside especially when it comes to other animals all in all she's just a really big sweetheart caramels favorite toy is this one squeaky toy I bought her that looks like a cheeseburger lol. She wakes up with that toy and goes to bed with that toy. She's a sweet puppy, she definitely loves to give hugs and lay with anyone she can. She's hyper and a a happy loving puppy. Her face just brings a smile to me Caramel broke her front right leg bone just a few days ago. I immediately took her to the michigan avenue animal hospital in Ypsilanti MI, where they did x rays. they told me she needs a major surgery which unfortunately I don't have the entire amount to pay for, and I just am asking for help to get my puppy back to being healthy and happy I am currently pregnant I am not working, I am a stay home mother. I hate seeing caramel down and in pain, she's not her normal hyper and happy self. I Jist want her to be her happy and healthy self again. Anything helps thank you

Murray sat suffering in an animal control kennel covered in what Pooch Savers Rescue calls a tomb of fur. "He's a Maltese, and their hair gets tangled easily," Scott B., with the group, tells Waggle. "The pictures don't even translate the full effect of how matted he was. You could feel the knots. He was in significant pain. Each time he moved, the mats were pulling on his skin. It hurt to move." Scott told the shelter they'd take Murray into their rescue and rushed him to a groomer who got them in on an emergency basis. It took two hours for the groomer to get all the mats out. Slowly Murray was transformed into an entirely different dog. "He was running around like a madman, barely able to contain himself, a true rebirth. He was so happy. I can't even begin to describe how it was so heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time," Scott says. But then they noticed Murray's right eye appeared to be ruptured. They believe he suffered some sort of trauma. So then the rescue raced Murray to Noah's Ark Pet Hospital. That's where veterinarians determined his eye, sadly, could not be saved. But Murray can still have a wonderful life! He needs surgery to remove the eye. After he recovers, he will be available for adoption. Murray will also be neutered during the operation. Pooch Savers struggles each day in Texas, rescuing as many dogs as possible from shelters. Animal control facilities in Texas euthanize the highest number of dogs in the U.S. The rescue is constantly balancing its resources and the number of lives it can save. Your contribution to Murray's campaign will help the rescue pay Murray's veterinary bill and save more dogs in dire need. If the group did not save Murray from the shelter, he likely would not have a chance. "Every time we see a dog that's been neglected or injured, our heart goes out to them," Scott says. "We know these dogs are domesticated, and they expect us to look out for them. We bring them into the world, and we have to be responsible for them. We can't thank everyone enough for giving to help him!"

Tex is a 3-year-old German Shepherd/Beagle in Pittsfield, MA, who needs $213 for canine wellness exam and vaccinations.

Our Tex is an inspiration. He comes from San Antonio, Texas, where he was found by a garbage worker inside a dumpster. He had heart worms, and we think his original pet parents tossed him in the dumpster because of that. He was abandoned by two rescue agencies until he was picked up by Texas Flyers Dog Rescue. He has been through so much, but absolutely loves people and other animals. Tex sleeps with his daddy and I. He loves going for walks and tolerates being groomed. He is such an easygoing, loving dog. Tex is very well behaved and loves getting cookies. He has many toys, most from Bark box and Chewy. Our house looks like a doggy daycare and Tex spends all of his time time both of us. He loves to run, jump, turn in mid-air, and land on the love seat armrest. Adorable! Tex has been through so much abuse and neglect during his short life, yet he loves to run to people, give them high fives and high tens and smile at them with such a huge smile! He has a favorite yellow and blue fish toy that he constantly jumps on, and the toy makes a strange noise when he does that. It’s not a typical squeak. It sounds more like a duck quacking. Tex’s daddy is disabled and cannot work, and I lost my pandemic unemployment benefits in September. With all the bills we have to pay, we cannot afford a simple vet visit for Tex. All he needs is a well patient canine exam, a canine rabies three year vaccine, and a yearly canine distemper/parvovirus shot. He goes to Dr. Swinson at South Street Veterinary Services on 864 South St Pittsfield MA I was laid off from my job as a dishwasher at the beginning of the pandemic and I lost my pandemic unemployment benefits and am trying to get on disability. Tex’s daddy is already on disability. I’m on public assistance now and am looking for part time work.
