We want to introduce you to Somu. \\\_Before Somu was found, he was heard.\\\_ Locals nearby reported hearing deafening cries coming from underneath a parked car. The kind of cries that make your heart stop, filled with terror and pain. Curled beneath the car, shaking and screamin g, was Somu, trying to find some relief after a speeding motorcycle ran over him while he searched the streets for food. The impact crushed his tiny paw, leaving him alone in agony. When we got the call, we rushed to find him. He was terrified, crying so hard his whole body trembled. But despite everything he had suffered, Somu still let us come close enough to help. We immediately gave him pain medication, but the damage to his paw is devastating and cannot be saved. Somu now urgently needs amputation surgery to survive and be free from this unbearable suffering. We need to raise $450 for Somu’s amputation surgery and medical care. Right now, our rescue is \\\_overwhelmed\\\_ with emergency cases arriving almost daily. Injured, abandoned and broken animals who have nowhere else to go. We never want to turn away a life in need, but our resources are stretched painfully thin. Still, we couldn’t walk away from Somu. And today, we’re asking you not to walk away either. You might remember Somu, we found him curled beneath a car, shaking and screaming, trying to find some relief after a speeding motorcycle ran over him while he searched the streets for food. Sunny became part of my life at six weeks old, from a foster home while I was living on Maui. I was going through a very difficult period after losing both my grandma and my soul cat, Carlos. When I saw Sunny’s photo in a cat rescue group, I felt an instant connection unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It truly felt meant to be, as if my grandma and Carlos sent her to me to help me heal. Sunny is a happy healthy girl, but we have been seeking care through the NC State Veterinary School’s internal medicine department for her chronic rhinitis and gastrointestinal issues. We have recently been conducting food trials, as well as an endoscopy and a head CT, to better diagnose her condition. While she was on a round of antibiotics, Sunny aspirated and has since developed pneumonia. Sunny (legal name Sunshine Rainbow Princess) is full of spunk and curiosity, and she is truly my shadow—she never misses a chance to help in the garden or watch a good show with me. She was a huge fan of her brother, Taco, and is remarkably gentle. Her friend Nova, who is blind, comes over occasionally, and Sunny is always so patient with her. She truly makes a special connection with everyone. I recently used my Sunny fund to cover the procedures required to diagnose her condition. Unfortunately, before I could recover financially, she contracted life-threatening pneumonia just two weeks later. Given this emergency, I am asking for help. She is my everything.

Amber Never Got the Chance to Take a Normal First Step — But We’re Fighting to Make Sure She Gets One

Amber never got the chance at a normal start. Her mother, June, was rescued from a severely overcrowded and neglectful home while emaciated, exhausted, and heavily pregnant. During what was supposed to be an emergency spay appointment, June went into labor inside the trap. The delivery was traumatic, and two of her kittens did not survive. The three surviving babies were incredibly fragile, and Tiny Cat Animal Rescue stepped in to save the little family. But Amber’s battle was only beginning. At just two weeks old, when kittens should be learning to wobble around on tiny legs, Amber couldn’t stand. Her hind legs were limp, her tail had no movement, and she was rushed for neurological exams and x-rays while weighing less than a pound. Despite every obstacle, Amber has never stopped trying. She scoots across the floor to reach toys, people, and the world around her with determination that is impossible to ignore. She is bright, affectionate, and full of life — and most importantly, she is already showing improvement. With early physical therapy and specialized neurological care, Amber has begun regaining strength and movement in both back legs. Her veterinary team believes continued treatment during this critical stage could make all the difference in her future mobility and quality of life. She showed us what resilience looks like in its purest form, and she inspired everyone who followed her journey with her strength and spirit. Thanks to your generosity, Amber received specialized veterinary care, neurological evaluations, physical therapy, and the supportive treatments she needed. Most importantly, she experienced something every animal deserves: love, comfort, safety, and the unwavering devotion of people who were committed to giving her every chance. Hello, my name is James Johnson and I am reaching out to my community for urgent help for my best friend and lifeline, Segal. I am a disabled individual living in Chicago, and I rely on a motorized wheelchair for my daily mobility. Four years ago, I adopted Segal, a wonderful Boxer/Beagle mix who is 10 years old now. Segal has a heart of gold and an incredible, natural intuition—he always knows ex Tragically, Segal is now facing a serious health crisis. He has been diagnosed with a large, roughly 1-centimeter tumor (growth) on his lower right eyelid margin (ventral eyelid/lateral canthus), and the veterinarian noted an additional developing issue in his other eye. Because of the complex nature of eye tumors, we have been urgently referred to a specialist at Eye Care for Animals on Roscoe St Segal has been through a lot wondering the streets of Chicago and CACC had rescued him and I adopted him we have saved each other. He has a heart of Gold capable of reading individuals and dogs knowing that they require comfort and will approach them laying down next to them. I desperately need to raise exactly $500.00 for an initial exam, which includes the eye exam with one of our two board-certified veterinary ophthalmologists, a fluorescein stain to check the corneal surface, an intraocular pressure check, and a tear production check is $372. Bandit is an 11 year old husky. I received him as a gift for my 15th birthday, im 25 now. Hes always been an energetic lovable guy. Hes currently in his elderly years but still trys to act like a pup even thoughhe cant run as much. I don't know what else to do im scared and sad. I dont want to lose by best friend. My other dog recently had surgery and im still paying, I cant afford to help my boy. Bandit has kidney stones and the vet would like to preform an emergency x-Ray, urine samples, and wants to insert a catheter. He has not been able to urinate which can cause his kidney to rupture if not taken care of as soon as possible. My veterinarian is Almapalm Animal Hospital. Bandit is a big brother to an English bulldog and pug (RIP). He loves to play with his brother and spend time with us lounging in the living room. When we grab the leash hes already at the door waiting for our next adventure whether its a quick trip for a starbucks and pup cup or our adventures out in the wilderness. He doesn't care what is going on or what we are doing as long as hes with us. I dont make enough to help my boy. Im living paycheck to paycheck. Im already on a care credit plan for my other dogs surgery. Please I just dont want to lose my best friend I am heartbroken because I dont believe he will survive the night. Hes lethargic and breathing heavily.

Beaten, Blinded, and Left Outside Our Gate — Scotty Is Fighting to Trust Again

Late one night, Scotty was left outside the gate at ACF Animal Rescue. He sat in the emergency drop-off cage, staring out through the metal grills — barely able to see. One eye was covered by a massive, devastating wound that spread across much of his face. He was skinny, starving, dehydrated, and clearly in unbearable pain. From what we understand, Scotty had been held down and beaten very severely. The trauma he endured left him physically broken and emotionally shut down. When we found him, we truly didn’t think he was going to make it. But Scotty is still here. Slowly, day by day, he has begun to improve. His body is healing, and he’s now in a much better place than the night he arrived. Still, the emotional scars remain. Scotty is quiet and reserved — an introvert who prefers to sit alone in a corner, always alert, watching everything around him. He wants to know what everyone is doing, but he’s not ready to join in just yet. He doesn’t fully trust people. Not yet. And after what he’s been through, can you blame him? What Scotty needs now is time, patience, and gentle care. He needs to learn that hands can be kind, that voices can be soft, and that the world is not always a place of fear. He is still receiving ongoing treatment for the large wound on his face, and his recovery is far from over, but he is in good spirits and becoming more comfortable with his surroundings every day. Scotty remains a quiet, observant soul. He likes to keep an eye on everything happening around him and is slowly learning that he is finally safe. While he still carries understandable fear and uncertainty, we are beginning to see glimpses of curiosity, comfort, and trust emerging through the trauma. Healing from abuse takes time — not just physically, but emotionally too. Scotty needs continued medical care, patience, proper nutrition, and a safe place where he can recover at his own pace without fear. Our newest save is Bunny — and she’s as small as her story is heartbreaking. At just 8–9 weeks old and weighing only 3 pounds, this tiny puppy found herself alone on a kind citizen’s front porch. Concerned for her safety, they contacted animal control, and Bunny was brought to the shelter to begin her journey toward healing. Bunny was diagnosed with demodex mange, a skin condition caused by Demodex canis mites. Demodectic mange most often occurs in puppies who have immature immune systems, allowing the number of skin mites to increase rapidly. While it's treatable, it can become serious if a secondary bacterial infection sets in, so her rescuers are acting quickly to give her the best chance at a full recovery. Bunny has already had a veterinary checkup and has started the medication she needs, but she's not out of the woods yet. Ongoing treatment and care come with costs, and this sweet, resilient girl still needs your support to fully recover. This Brave Little Cat Deserves a Pain-Free Life

Meet Nemo, a playful two-year-old cat who has already overcome more challenges than most animals face in a lifetime — and now he urgently needs help once again. Nemo’s story began before he was even born. His mom had been rescued as a young stray, and shortly afterward, she gave birth to four kittens. During delivery, complications arose, and Nemo suffered a devastating injury: an umbilical strangulation around his ankle that caused him to lose his foot shortly after birth. At only four days old, his family rushed him to the emergency veterinarian, where they were told there was very little that could be done for such a tiny kitten besides antibiotics, wound care, and hope. His mom never gave up on him. With diligent care, Nemo healed and grew into a happy, affectionate, energetic cat who never let his disability slow him down. He became the heart of his family — cuddly, playful, and deeply bonded with both his mom and the family dog he adores. But now Nemo is facing another painful setback. A few weeks ago, Nemo injured the remaining portion of his leg. At first, his family hoped it would heal on its own with close monitoring and care. But after getting excited during mealtime, Nemo reopened the wound badly, leaving the damaged stump unable to heal properly anymore. His family spent the entire night desperately calling emergency veterinarians and surgical clinics searching for help. Thankfully, Shore Pet Surgery was able to schedule Nemo for surgery. The only way to permanently relieve his pain and restore his quality of life is to amputate the remainder of the leg. While the thought of surgery is heartbreaking, Nemo’s veterinarian is optimistic that he will recover beautifully and finally be free from the repeated pain and injuries he has been enduring. Cats adapt incredibly well to life on three legs, and this surgery will give Nemo the chance to run, play, cuddle, and enjoy life comfortably again. Nemo’s surgery, medications, e-collar, follow-up care, and suture removal will cost $550 — an amount that is difficult for his loving family to manage alone.
