Bumble
Bumble is an eight-week-old Domestic Shorthair kitten in Chico, CA, who needs $1,000 for urgent eye surgery.

Sweet, little Bumble was nearly a victim of economic euthanasia, but a kind-hearted animal hospital and Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue intervened just in time! "Some people who claimed they found the kitten brought him into the veterinary clinic," Raquel F., with the rescue group, tells Waggle. "Bumble's eye was rotten. The clinic told them it needed to be removed. The people said, 'We can't afford the surgery. You should euthanize him.'" But instead, that animal hospital called Wags and Whiskers. The group immediately agreed to take the kitten. Raquel rushed over to pick Bumble up and was floored when she saw his eye. "I was shocked! This poor kitten! He is so young and has already gone through something so traumatic and painful," Raquel says. No one knows what exactly caused Bumble's eye condition. "It may have started as an infection, or it was scratched," Raquel says. "There was no way of saving it. Dr. Davis at Chico Pet Vet was so great in getting Bumble in right away and recommended his eye be removed to prevent any further damage to his tiny body and prevent infection." Raquel adds that Bumble was so tiny, her venti-sized Starbucks coffee cup was larger than he was when she first picked him up. Now he's in a foster home and loves everyone he meets. "Because he was an orphan when he was rescued, he quickly bonds with new people and even other animals. He loves the other dogs in his foster home and asks them for warmth and cuddles when his human is unavailable. It is impossible to say no to such a cute "meow" when he comes up asking for attention," Raquel says. Now the group is raising the money to pay for Bumble's surgery and needs your help. "We are a rescue organization, and the amount of animals we help is greatly influenced by the amount of funds we have available," Raquel says. "Adoptions have been slowing down lately, which means we now have to rely on donations from kind-hearted people like you."
Pulguitas
Pulguitas is a 12-year-old Chihuahua in Stockton, CA, who needs $900 for enucleation.

I have had Pulguitas for about 12 years now. Over the years I have grown very attached to him. We named him Pulguitas because he was full of flees when we first got him. I remember driving for an hour in the rain to pick him up for the first time. We quickly found out that he gets car sick. We were glad to remove him from his current situation because it did not look like he was taken care of. Pulgas has become my companion. He is always with me and follows me around the house. He especially likes to snuggle with me on the couch. I feel a lot of comfort having him with me. He is also like my guard dog and alerts me if anyone is outside. We are inseparable and he even likes to sleep on my bed with me every night. I am 66 years old and have a fixed income and cannot afford the costly surgery my poor baby needs. I would really love to have Pulguitas feeling better again. I feel he has several more loving years to give if given the opportunity. Pulgas has had an eye infection that comes and goes. Looks like he has an eye ulcer that he scratches from time to time and unfortunately got infected. We are trying to heal his eye with antibiotic but his eye is too far gone. We have been to two different vets and they both believe his eye needs to be removed to avoid the infection from spreading. I have had Pulgas since he was a puppy. We got him when he was only days old. We were told he was 8 weeks but the vet believe he was younger. We kept Pulgas because we did not feel he was safe taking him back where we got him from. He was always a fighter. He looked weak and sick but you could see his willingness to want to live.
Dalailah
Dalailah is a 5-year-old Pitbull mix in Round Rock, TX, who needs $2,000 for CT scan and surgery.

Six years ago we came to meet Dalailah. She was a scrawny little 9 month old pitbull who had been found running loose in Georgetown covered in Demodex mange. She was first rescued by Georgetown Animal Shelter who vaccinated and treated her skin. We adopted and rescued her during a Valentine event for $14. She was a steal and a love bug who still brings us so much joy with her wiggle bum. Dalailah is pure joy. She loves her kids terribly. She has no problem stealing kisses when they least expect them. Her favorite past time is cuddling and stealing blankets in bed. For the most part she behaves as an only child claiming her humans as her own. Among her pack she is the bravest and at 42 pounds it is amazing and funny to see her try to win at tug of war with her brothers. Dalailah knows when you need her and is able to turn any gloomy day around with her kisses, hugs and her non stop wiggle bum. She enjoys her humans as much as they enjoy her. Her loving and spunky character makes her the love bug we adore. On the worst of days I can always count on her to bring us joy. Even after her diagnosis she continues to make us smile while refusing to act ill. Dalailah was seen by Heart of Texas Emergency Specialty Center for facial swelling. During a fast scan, pleural effusion was noted. Radiographs were ordered and mediastinal mass was found. Samples and cultures have come back inconclusive. She is now in need of a CT Scan to see if the mass is resectable. If so, we will continue to surgery and remove the mass. Dalailah's adoption saved my daughter. Now it's time I repay the favor. Unfortunately I have not come up with the total needed for the procedures to come. Diagnosis and procedures will be performed by the amazing staff of Heart of Texas Emergency and Specialty Center.
Sugar
Sugar is a six-year-old Boxer in North Bend, WA, who needs $2,000 for an MRI.

It's a condition called Spondylitis. Her human dad, Chris B., tells Waggle that it's been manageable, but recently Sugar has been in horrible pain. "Something has happened. Now she can barely walk and screams at the touch of her spine," Chris says. So far, Chris has spent nearly $10,000 on care, X-rays, and tests for Sugar, yet the cause of her suffering is still a medical mystery. Now Sugar needs to see a neurologist and have an MRI scan to help zero in on a diagnosis. Though Chris has a job, he's drained his bank account paying for her care. He had been saving for a new apartment but spent all the money on Sugar's veterinary bills. The pair are staying with a family member, and Chris sleeps on a couch. "I have exhausted everything I have. I cannot put her down for lack of funds. I am doing everything I can for help," Chris says. Chris says he suffers from depression, and Sugar has learned to pull him out of dark times. He credits her for saving his life, and now he wants to do the same for her. "When my eyes water, her eyes water. She knows I'm in that bad state. She puts her head on my lap, and she will stay there as long as I stay there. I need her." The additional tests Sugar at BluePearl Pet Hospital will hopefully give Chris answers. Sugar may need different pain medication, physical therapy, or possibly surgery. Chris wants anyone who gives to Sugar's campaign to know they will make their holidays a much brighter time. "I am indebted to anyone who donates," Chris says. "I'm super appreciative. I love this dog."
Neema
Neema is a one-year-old Cane Corso in St. Charles, MO, who needs $1,800 for eye surgery.

Janet A. is in a race against time. Her constant companion and new family member, Neema needs eye surgery right away; her sight is at risk. "My children bought Neema for me," Janet tells Waggle. "I am a disabled woman on a fixed income that lives alone. I wanted a canine companion to love and grow older with but yet keeps me feeling young." Neema does all of that for Janet and also keeps her laughing and smiling. But now, Neema can't be as active because her eyelashes are growing into her eyes. If it goes untreated, the friction from her lashes could cause ulcers on her corneas. Sometimes Neema even spasms in pain from the condition. The medical team at BluePearl Specialty and Emergency Pet Hospital is ready to get Neema into surgery, but Janet has to raise the money for the operation. "I am on disability and work odd jobs," Janet adds. "Due to COVID-19, some of my family and friends do not have much money. Her trainer paid for her initial exam. I want to see Neema play happily with her daycare pack and go for walks with me and enjoy being a mischievous puppy again." Neema has been going to canine daycare since she was a puppy. She loves to play with her toys and cuddle. "She is 90 pounds and wants to sit in your lap," Janet says. "Our family is planning a birthday party for her since she was born on Halloween. My birthday wish for Neema is for her to see well, be out of pain, and enjoy playing with her pack at the puppy daycare again. She misses them very much."
Mulberry
Mulberry is a 13-year-old Greyhound in Geneva, OH, who needs $108 for Chest X-Rays to Assess Heart Functioning.

Mulberry was born into the world of racing, but came to our Sanctuary at a young age, due to a defect in her spine which rendered her unable to control her bladder or bowels. She's had a number of health problems over the years, but has managed to thrive and is now over 13 years old. She's a bit unsteady on her legs and has developed intermittent swelling in her hind legs. Mulberry is our longest resident at the Sanctuary and she's very much a part of our lives. Over the last 11 years, we've learned to handle her incontinence and Mulberry happily wears diapers. Her needs are many, but caring for her helps us to connect with her and helps us to be better humans. She's always been an atypical greyhound and we joke that she never read the "Greyhound Manual." Being a true blue greyhound, Mulberry attracted much attention when she first arrived. We got many, many inquiries from people wanting to adopt her, but once they learned of her health issues and how much effort it would take to care for her, they never submitted an application. We knew that Mulberry was meant to stay with us and she makes us smile with her many expressions. Mulberry has problems with her vision, kidneys, liver, heart and has chronic UTIs. As she ages, her heart and kidney functioning is declining. Frequent lab work and regular blood pressure checks are required and chest x-rays were needed to try to explain the swelling in her hind legs. New medications are helping. Dr. Tom Zulandt, owner of Madison Vet Hospital is treating her. We are a non-profit animal sanctuary to depends on donations to pay for medical bills. We've already raised money to pay for Mulberry's lab tests, but need funds to pay for her chest x-rays. Mulberry has been with us for 11 years and we cannot ignore her needs now.
Benny
Benny is a 13-year-old Elk Hound in Huntington, WV, who needs $1,466 for emergency care.

Benny's backstory is absolutely horrifying, but with your help, his future will be full of happiness. One by One Animal Advocates got a call about a sweet senior dog found lying in a ditch. He had been hit by a car and could not move. Hideously, maggots moved in and started eating his wounds and skin. Yes, absolutely disgusting. Heather A., with One by One Animal Advocates, tells Waggle the woman who found Benny contacted his owners, but they no longer wanted him. "He had a traumatic horrible event, hit by a car, pain, and abandoned," Heather says. "We had the ability to provide the care he needs, and we'll help find a family who loves him. That's why I wanted to help Benny." The medical team at Merritts Creek Veterinary Center went to work trying to fix up Benny. It turned out beside the maggots; Benny also had ticks and lice. The staff removed all the gross bugs, shaved him down, and started to care for his skin. His bloodwork revealed he had Lyme disease, and X-rays showed one of his hips was dislocated. "I was just devastated. It just broke my heart. It just made me so sad for him," Heather says. The poor guy was a mess, but after spending lots of time at the animal hospital and receiving wonderful care, Benny started turning the corner and is on his way to being a healthy, spry pooch who will eventually be up for adoption. What amazes Heather is that after everything Benny went through, his spirit is still so bright. "Benny radiates joy and happiness," Heather says. "He's the sweetest dog. He is a perfect size, 30 pounds, so he gently comes up and nudges your hand." One by One Animal Advocates specializes in taking in animals that are injured and ill. There was no way the group could have said "no" to Benny but now the nonprofit needs assistance paying all his medical bills. Heather says Benny is worth every penny! "We are grateful we had the opportunity to give Benny the care he needs," she says. "He now has joint supplements and an orthopedic bed. We had the opportunity to give him a new life. Our goal is to make sure he has so much love and attention now he never remembers how he used to live." Can you help Benny?
Sandy Beach
Sandy Beach is a 10-year-old Pit Bull in Simi Valley, CA, who needs $1,205 for medical treatment.

Sandy Beach was found as a stray in Hemmitt, California and was taken to the Ramona Humane Society. She was estimated to be around 9 years old and had been used for profit. This sweet girl had horrible mammary masses on both sides of her body along with a tumor on her neck that was right up against her jugular vein. Mark R. from Southern California Pit Bull Rescue knew there was a very slim chance of her being adopted, so he stepped in to rescue her. She may have had a tough time in life, but Mark notes, “Sandy Beach is super mellow, affectionate, sweet, and loves to give kisses!” The rescue immediately took her to a veterinarian, and she underwent two surgeries to remove the mammary tumors. This poor girl developed an infection and had to be hospitalized, but thanks to her life-saving surgeries funded by the rescue, she got on the road to recovery. She was recently adopted along with her best pal, Frankie, as the two of them became a bonded pair at the rescue. Both dogs are happy as can be with their new family, and Sandy Beach especially loves her 9-year-old human sister! Sammy
Sammy is a 1-year-old Mutt in Longview, WA, who needs $800 for dental treatment and spay surgery.

We found this beautiful baby girl a couple weeks ago, as time flies she has made herself a regular part of the family. We believe she has been missing for a long time as she was very skinny and many of her teeth are broken. She is not spayed either and so this donation will be going directly to her vet to pay to have the roots of the broken teeth removed before they rot and to have her spayed. Sammy is pretty new to our house. With her it makes four dogs in one house! Sammy absolutely loves to play with them, she is amazed by our selection of toys for her to play with and tug of war has become a quick favorite of hers, well that and chase. We have used up many bags of treats teaching her basic commands such as sit, lay down, come here, bed, and place. We definitely were not planning to be caring for an additional dog and therefore do not have $1000 to drop at the tip of a hat (no matter how adorable the hat is). I am so thankful God brought Sammy to me and want to care for her the best I can, please help anyway you can. As said before Sammy must have been without owners for awhile. Many of her teeth are broken, likely from eating rocks, and so the roots of these broken teeth need to me removed before they rot and cause organ problems. We believe she also has not been spayed yet and therefore will need to be to prevent another heat cycle. Sammy is very expressive if she thinks something is dumb she will tell you all about it. She is also a very good doorbell. My favorite part about her is how great she cuddles! Sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night Ill find her with her legs wrapped around me or resting her head on top of my head while she sleeps.
