Razzle Dazzle, a sweet and shapely senior weaned her fourth litter of puppies late in life and joined our Sanctuary shortly after, when no other rescues wanted to take her. Razzle has been enjoying the perks of retirement for the last 3 years, living in comfort surrounded by her humans. Until the pandemic hit, she was acting as a perfect ambassador to her breed at weekend meet and greet events. Kindness and wisdom, friendliness and affection define her unique personality, she’s endowed with a spirit that’s younger than springtime. Calm, quiet and patient, she has a penchant for chewing on Nylabones and cuddling up in blankets, while a slight, polite whimper is her signal to potty! She’s both a hearty eater and she’s as enamored of her people as they are of her. Her gentle amber eyes speak volumes as Razz gazes round her dazzling world. Despite being quite lame due to arthritis in her wrists and large corns on her front paws, Razzle is a good sport when downing the various medications designed to ease her pain and improve her quality of life. Although she can be stunning sitting up on our laps, she's also a bit of a goofball and always makes us smile. Razzle developed a cancerous lump that we removed. Her heart is enlarged, her kidneys are showing signs of decline and she's recently developed a pronounced limp. Because greyhounds are prone to bone cancer, we took a series of x-rays to rule out cancer. Dr. Zulandt at Madison Veterinary Hospital has been treating Razzle for years and will continue to treat the arthritis causing the limp. As a non-profit rescue, we provide lifetime care for those animals that are unadoptable and rely on donations to give the animals the best care possible. We've already raised funds to cover Razzle's previous vet bills and medications but need funds for the skeletal x-rays.
Ranger
Ranger is an eight-year-old Saint Bernard in Great Falls, MT, who needs $569 for tumor removal surgery.

This has been a rough holiday season for Debbie W. Her husband has been fighting cancer, their bank accounts are dwindling, and now their beautiful dog, Ranger, needs urgent surgery. "Ranger developed a limp, and a mass was found on his right front leg," Debbie tells Waggle. "He is in significant pain and cannot bear weight on the leg without crying. X-Rays showed a fatty tumor that needs to be surgically removed. Our vet said the sooner, the better due to its location." But with everything going on, the family can't pay for Ranger's surgery. "We are currently in financial need due to my husband having stage three cancer. Our income has been greatly affected due to his inability to work at the present time. My income is all we have, and I only work three days a week," Debbie says. Debbie's husband is a veteran, and Ranger's name is very dear to his heart. "My husband named him Ranger after the USS Ranger that he served on while in the U.S. Navy. He is just the sweetest boy who loves everyone he meets and gives big slobbery kisses. Ranger is deeply loved and adored by his family," she says. Ranger's surgery is scheduled at Big Sky Animal Medical Center, and Debbie is hoping, with your help, they'll raise the money he needs! They are very grateful for your love and support.
Mudslide
Mudslide is a 2-year-old Tortie in Canton, OH, who needs $500 for grinding bone down and dental extractions.

I foster orphaned kittens for my local Humane Society. Mudslide and her litter came to me to when they were 2 weeks old. She was the first one named. Even before we got home. Lol. Unfrunately the litter had panluke. She survived that. She attached herself to me very quick. It was a bond I could not break. She became my second and last foster fail. I felt like my home was complete with her in it. Mudslide will follow me around the house screaming at me until I pick her up for "Mudslide time". She likes being held and and petted.. Every night she sleeps at the end of the bed. She is such a sweetheart!! She absolutely loves her brother. They play all of the time. She will even yell for him to come and play. She has She LOVES water. She will play in the toilet. She will throw toys in dogs water bowl then fish out the toys. She is a talker. She doesn't meow. She sounds more like a little monkey. So her nicknames are Monkey and Mississippi Mudpie. She likes to chatter with the squirrels. She likes to make bread laying on her side with all 4 paws. In July we noticed a bump in her mouth. The vet had never seen anything like it. There is a cavern leading to her nose. She cleaned it out & stitched it. It began to rapidly grow again. We went for 2nd opion. She has a rare bone cyst. The vet wants to remove the k9 and grind the bone down. If she doesn't get this done, the cysts will end up fracturing the bones in her face. Mudslide is an otherwise healthy cat. I know this is bothering her because she does not play as much as she used to. It's like she shows me where it's hurting. We are on a fixed income due to my disability and my own personal medical expenses.
Jagger
Jagger is a four-month-old Golden Retriever in CT, who needs $4,000 for emergency care.

Jagger is one sick puppy who needs your help! Puppies chew everything! Literally, everything is "game" when they're four months old. They can tear apart and gobble down the strangest items in seconds with their razor-like puppy teeth. But when poor Jagger ate a toy, it spiraled into some catastrophic health problems. "Jagger started vomiting," Edgar A., Jagger's human dad, tells Waggle. "We took him tothe vet for emergency care." That's where X-rays confirmed he ate part of a toy. Everyone hoped it would pass through his system, but the next day Jagger took a turn for the worse and needed urgent surgery. Once Jagger's operation started, the medical team discovered the pup had a congenital issue called a diaphragmatic hernia, which resulted in a hole in his diaphragm. Jagger also had a perforated stomach which caused its contents to leak into his chest, leading to a massive infection. The surgeon repaired Jagger's hernia and abdomen, but the pup is so sick from the infection he has been hospitalized for a week with chest tubes to help him heal. Jagger's hospital bill is now more than $12,000, and his family is struggling to pay it. "Our family has raised $3500 to put down as a deposit to save our sweet puppy," Edgar says. "This is a huge financial hardship for our young family, and we would appreciate any help." Edgar says they are devastated and love Jagger, who they recently adopted, so much. "He loves to play with his toys, and he is very active," Edgar says. "He is a happy, silly young pup who loves our toddler. We could not think of having to give him up and separate them because of financial concerns. He is an important member of our family already!" Jagger loves everyone he meets! He has won the hearts of every staff member at the vet office. Even while weak and sick, fighting for his life, he manages to tip his little tail. While struggling to breathe, he will give a tiny lick to the nurses' faces. "He is such a fighter through everything," Edgar says. "He is not willing to give up, neither are we." Please help Jagger fight for his life and get home to his family!
Lando
Lando is a two-year-old Boxer Mix in El Centro, CA, who needs $2,000 for double knee surgery.

Daniela A. got a double whammy of bad news: First, she found out her beautiful dog, Lando, needs surgery to fix the ligaments in both his knees. Then her pet insurance company denied the claim for his operation. Now she and her husband are struggling to raise the money Lando needs to walk without pain. "This is an unexpected medical expense that we weren't prepared for," Daniela tells Waggle. "We are responsible pet owners, with pet insurance, but due to a timeline issue, it won't cover. We are doing everything in our power to do this surgery for our dog (son) Lando, who we want healthy and happy." Daniela and her husband adopted Lando when he was a puppy. Over the last couple of years, they have become so attached, and Lando has grown to despise the garbage truck. "We joke that Lando is the human, and my husband and I are his support animals," Daniela says. "He is such a character. Lando literally hates Monday because it is trash pick-up, and the trash truck is his worst enemy. Lando loves when friends come over and because he loves the attention. His favorite is car rides; he sticks his head out and enjoys the air. He will smile in pictures if you say cheeeese." Lando's family is counting the days and dollars until they can get him surgery at Foothills Animal Hospital. Lando is very active, and not being able to walk well has been devastating. "Lando loves to have people over at the house. He loves the ladies, such a flirt. He is very protective but, at the same time, super friendly and playful. He loves to visit grandma because she gives him treats and basically spoils him. He is popular at our local pet stores because he is a regular, and he loves the attention." Please help Lando get back into action and live his best life!
LJ

I have had LJ since he was born, he was born to a female cat that we rescued after she was dumped in the mobile home park my son was living in. I took her home with me and she later gave birth to 5 kittens, only 2 survived LJ and his sister Gigi. He is 6 years old and i just need him to be well and enjoy the rest of his life. I Love Him! LJ is a very layed back and lax kitty, he gets along with other cats and our dog and people. He is an indoor cat and loves to eat! Although he has a crate, bed, and plenty of boxes he prefers to sleep where ever he wants in random places or on top of his crate. He also loves to go for walks outside. After an auto accident, I recently had knee replacement surgery and have problems with my back. I am currently awaiting disability While living with my middle son. On Saturday night july 4th 2020 LJ got choked on a piece of meat i was feeding him. After several failed attempts to dislodge the meat, I rushed him down the road to blue pearl, where they got the meat out and saved his life. He now needs rechecked to make sure hes still doing good. the 36 dollars is for office visit/exam. I would say i am LJs favorite person as i am his soul care giver. Hes definitely a talker although hos meow is very light. He definitely lets you know when its time to eat and prefers his wet food in the bathroom, door shut so none of the other cats can steal it. He is a total lover also enjoys having his head scratched
Peanut
Peanut is a 11-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat in CT, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery.

Jo-Ann S. and her cat Peanut need your help! The pair can't seem to catch a break. Jo-Ann was just diagnosed with liver cancer, then Peanut developed a dangerous abscess in his sinus cavity and was also diagnosed with cancer. Now Jo-Ann is overwhelmed with her medical bills and Peanut's veterinary bills. "I've been rescuing cats on my own for 20 years and paying for all their care," Jo-Ann tells Waggle in tears while sobbing. "Now things are a lot harder. I'm used to doing this on my own, but now I need help. I'm so far in the hole right now." Jo-Ann adopted Peanut from an animal shelter 11 years ago, and recently she could tell he wasn't feeling well. She brought him to the vet and his veterinarian found a dangerous abscess in Peanut's sinus cavity. He needed urgent surgery to drain and clean the area. "It was so bad it filled up with pus," Jo-Ann says. "He has a drain in place so it can keep draining. He's on antibiotics." Then Jo-Ann got more gut-wrenching news: Peanut also has cancer. "I'm devastated and heartbroken. I want him happy. He's my baby," she says. Jo-Ann is on disability and does not have much income. She tells Waggle she's always taken excellent care of her rescued cats, but now she is hoping others might read about Peanut and "pay it forward" to help them during this tragic time. "I would do anything to save him," Jo-Ann says. "He's a special boy that brings me a lot of happiness. It's killing me. There will be more bills for him. I'm just trying to cover it all," she adds. "I'm thankful for any help. It would be so appreciated."
Luke
Luke is an Orange Tabby in Raleigh, NC, who needs $450 for Eye Surgery.

Luke and his three siblings were rescued from a rural North Carolina shelter. They were sick with an upper respiratory infection, eye infections, and severe diarrhea. They were underweight and very sick. The shelter is unable to help with medical issues and they were due to be euthanized, so we picked them up and placed them in our foster care program. Luke is a tiny kitten. He is very loving, but he is struggling as his eyes seem to hurt him. He was not as playful with his mates, not eating a lot, he was over his upper respiratory illness, but it seems his eyes were never fully opened. After 2 weeks of eye drops and no improvement, he went back to the vet. The vet confirmed there is something very wrong with his eyes, but she did not know exactly what and contacted a specialist at North Carolina State Veterinary Medicine to see if they could help identify his issues. The vet at NC State determined he has a significant problem called Upper Eye Lid Agenesis. Dr. Davidson explained this is a complicated issue and his only hope is a surgery to repair his eyelids. Luke's eyelids did not fully form and he will need a graft from his lip tissue to add eyelid tissue. Currently, he is too small for the surgery and we need to wait until he is older. For now, he will need an eye lid injection to roll the lashes away from his corneal to prevent damage. This surgery is very expensive and much more than we can fund without help. But without the surgery, Luke will suffer for life with eyelids that are not formed properly and causing corneal damage. Please help Carolina Cat Rescue give him the chance at a pain free life.
Sullivan
Sullivan is a 5-year-old Black Cat in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Jaw Surgery.

A Good Samaritan contacted One By One Animal Advocates, saying Sullivan was a stray that lived around her house. The lady didn't notice anything for awhile until she picked Sullivan up and the smell of infection was so strong... that's when she noticed his jaw was crooked. One By One Animal Advocates immediately reacted and sent poor Sullivan to the vet. Despite being a stray, Sullivan is very sweet and not at all feral. He has adapted to living indoors quite nicely. The vet said he was approximately 5 years old and his injury is likely related to being kicked in the face and not hit by a car. Amazingly, he is still so sweet. Sullivan was also covered in fleas and had a heavy burden of intestinal parasites. Our vet treated for fleas, dewormed him, and checked his blood work. They had to hospitalize him on pain meds and antibiotics until he was stable enough for surgery, which he had on September 14th. Our vet said it was a very old fracture (so he had been living like that for some time!). He freshened up the fracture edges and drilled holes to accommodate a stainless steel wire. The fracture was aligned to near normal and stabilized with the wire. Sullivan's jaw alignment is a little off but that was from the original trauma and healing. Our vet felt that Sullivan would do very well once healed. However, our foster noted over the weekend that Sullivan's jaw did not look right and he wouldn't stop meowing despite pain meds! One by One sent him back to the vet for sedation and X-Rays. Unfortunately, the orthopedic wire had come loose so he had surgery #2 to remove the wire and install an orthopedic plate. Sullivan is being sent to his foster home on antibiotics, more pain meds, and has to eat watered down canned food. Please help One By One Animal Advocates pay the invoice for Sullivan's medical treatment. With your help, One by One will be able to continue rescuing cats just like Sullivan.
