Simba Gomes
Simba an eight-year-old Pomeranian in Danbury, CT, who needs $2,000 for leg surgery.

Poor Simba is miserable and in pain. Just two days ago, he fell from the bed and broke the tibia bone in his leg. The sweet dog needs urgent surgery to fix it. Unfortunately, the operation is something Simba's human mom, Leticia G., is having trouble affording. Her brother needs surgery as well, and their family is overwhelmed with medical bills. "The news that surgery was needed came as a shock," Leticia tells Waggle. The surgical team at VCA Shoreline is ready to perform the procedure to help Simba. Leticia is anxious for her dog to get the operation, so he is no longer suffering. "He is the most incredible puppy there is. Simba was born in Brazil, and he spent the first few months of his life there. And on January 15th, I met him. Simba is my rock and my best friend, and I would do anything for him," Leticia says. Leticia hopes pet lovers in the Waggle community give to help Simba, paying it forward to their family when they could use a break. She says Simba is a spectacular dog with a big personality. "Simba is the kind of dog that lights up a room," Leticia adds. "I have never met someone who doesn't like him. Simba is friends with everyone. Simba is a bundle of joy and fun, always playful and always ready to make you smile." Please help Simba get back on his feet again!
Snoopy
Snoopy is a 10-year-old Beagle in Watertown, MA, who needs $1,400 for mass removal surgery.

Our family got our Beagle Snoopy almost 11 years ago. From the moment we saw him, we knew he was meant to be with us. Snoopy is sweet, affectionate, and boy does he love food! A typical Beagle! He is the funniest little guy. He can bring joy to anybody! He is almost 11 years old. His birthday is September 9th. Even though he’s getting older, he still has those same puppy qualities about him. Our Snoopy is so loving. He loves every one of us in our household and he loves family and friends who come here, too! Once Snoopy meets you, you are his friend for life. We all enjoy giving Snoopy belly rubs, chin rubs, ear rubs, and HE enjoys them even more! Snoopy is apart of our family. He is our best friend. Our family was hit hard with financial hardship after one of us lost our job and then we lost our home. We are now in public housing and struggling. Especially now during this pandemic, it has been particularly hard. Getting Snoopy this surgery would make us all at ease. Snoopy has a cyst on his left side that burst open from him scratching at it. Now, it is an open wound that often bleeds. We have tried everything the vet has given us including topical antibiotics and oral antibiotics which in itself was costly. They did not work. We keep the area clean, but it is not healing and Snoopy needs surgery to remove this cyst. Snoopy’s howl is like no other. He has the coolest, most unique howl! It always makes us giggle. He loves to roll around on the grass and in the snow. He plays peek-a-boo in the show! It’s so funny. The way he will jump and hop when he see’s a treat in our hand in the cutest. He’s a special guy and we are so lucky he is with us.
Chris
Chris is an eight-month-old Chocolate Siamese cat in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for emergency surgery.

Even though Chris the cat had been hit by a car, he was determined to save himself. "Several people witnessed him trying to walk, dragging his back legs down the road. He could not stand," Heather A., with One by One Animal Advocates, tells Waggle. People who saw the struggling cat called the local animal shelter. The staff picked up Chris and realized he is a beautiful Chocolate Point Siamese cat, a rare breed. But sadly, Chris was severely injured. "When the medical director picked him up and put him on the scale, they could hear his legs crack," Heather says. "They called us and asked if we'd take him." One by One said, "yes," and that's when the rescue mission to help Chris continued. They're hoping Waggle's generous community will donate, so Chris gets his operation and has a happy life ahead. "The shelter did not have the funds to take on the expensive surgery Chris needed," Heather says. "We thought, 'If we don't help him, who will?'" "I don't know if he was trying to drag himself to a place of safety, and he didn't give up? He's alive because of everything he did to save himself. So many people saw him and called the animal shelter. He wanted to live, and he did all he could to survive." When One by One got their call about Chris, they had to make an instant decision whether to save him. The medical team determined the cat had multiple pelvic fractures and needs orthopedic surgery to help him walk without pain. Now the nonprofit group is trying to raise the money to pay for the operation. They say Chris is a survivor, and he needs your help! "He had been hit by a car and was in obvious pain, yet he just continued to try to move," Heather adds.
Bubba
Bubba is a 8-year-old American Bully in Park Hills, MO, who needs $689 for heartworm and skin treatment.

Hi this is Bubba. He was just rescued from a bad situation in Texas. This poor sweet senior came to me with horribly inflamed skin with sores all over. We were told at the vet that he has very bad allergies and will need medication daily. We also found out this sweet baby is heartworm positive and needs treatment soon before it begins to affect his heart. This treatment is hard on the dog. Bubba love all of his fur siblings big and small. He lets the cats sit on him when they are outside. He can't play right now because of how uncomfortable his skin is. We look forward to seeing the dogs play when he is healthy. He does walk around the yard with them. Bubba is very gentle with our tiny Yorkie that's 5 pounds and sleeps by him I am disabled and don't have income that can cover the two treatments he needs. He goes back in 2 weeks to find out new medication for his skin and the cost. I suffer from clinical depression, insomnia, night terrors and PTSD and I'm not able to work. Bubba will become a esa Bubba has heartworm and needs to be treated before it can affect his heart. He also has serious skin issues that will require daily medication that is expensive. He needs to be neutered but can't until he is heartworm free because it isn't safe. Now he has decided he really likes some people food. If I am eatingand he wants a bite he comes over and lays his head next to me looks up and snorts. If I act like I didn't hear him he lifts his head up and snorts again. He is so funny. We are blessed to have him in our family
Tony
Tony is a six-year-old Miniature Poodle in Hillsboro, OR, who needs $600 for a doggie wheelchair.

Tony has had an incredible journey and needs your assistance to take his next steps toward happiness. This adorable dog was rescued from the streets of Taiwan! He now lives in a foster home in the United States. Tony has no feeling in his back legs and needs a doggie cart to get around. Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals (OFOSA) is trying to help make the Minature Poodle's wish for some new wheels come true. "We are not sure how he became paralyzed, but he's a very determined little boy and engages with the world quite well," Anne H. with the group tells Waggle. "Tony is a happy, cuddly teddy bear. He loves to meet new people and animal friends. He never gives up and is so brave. He is persistent and loves to engage with the world around him." Tony received an assessment at Healing Arts Animal Care and was found to be a perfect candidate for a wheel cart to help him get around and live his best life. "He loves to go! He's got lots of socializing and loving to do. His wheels will make his quality of life even better in his forever home," Heather says. The nonprofit organization's budget is stretched thin because the group takes on many animals abandoned due to COVID and pet owners' financial constraints. The group hopes Waggle's generous community will donate to help Tony get his "new ride," which will be his key to happiness. "This little guy is just so courageous and never lets his disability slow him down," Heather adds. "He's got such a great smile and sweet disposition. He has such a zest for life. He makes everyone around him want to try harder and be happy. He's definitely one of our heroes!"
Lil Snoot
Lil Snoot is a kitten in Charleston, SC, who needs $640 for a hernia repair.

Lil Snoot was found in a bush outside a middle school, my girlfriend who’s a teacher at the school brought him home. Other than being under weight & a few scratches he seemed fine until we noticed his back left leg is very swollen. I took him to the vet immediately and it turns out that his intestines and kidney are slipping through the stomach lining (hernia). We would love to save and keep him. We have two young dogs that have gotten along with him fantastically, they know he’s a baby and possibly even know he’s injured so they’ve been very gentle. Lil snoot spends most of his day sleeping and only gets up to eat and use the bathroom. So far he has been a great addition to our little family and can’t wait to see how it goes once his surgery is complete! We would love to save Lil snoot and unfortunately a $1,140 vet bill is a bit to much for me and my girlfriend to afford at the moment. We are both in our mid 20’s with two puppies to take care of right now, it would mean a lot if we could keep him with us permanently as well I took Lil snoot to James Island Veterinary Hospital on September 4th, he was given an ultra sound and it was determined his intestines and kidney are slipping through a hole that needs to be sealed. If the surgery is completed his chances are very high! He was also dewormed and given a vaccine during his initial visit to the vet. It’s tough to say why he’s special other then getting a second chance at life considering he was abandoned in a bush by an owner or his mother (most likely). We want to give him a great long life along side two young puppies already in the house. He’s been a great fit and even though he’s 50 pounds less then our dogs he still stands his ground as a little kitten haha
Duncan
Duncan is a 3-year-old Beagle in Geneva, OH, who needs $595 for Treatment for Lyme Disease and Dental Surgery.

Duncan was most likely dumped by his owners and found as a stray by a kill shelter in Southern Ohio. On his last day when we inquired, we quickly made the 3 hour drive to pick him up. He was given no medical attention at the overcrowded shelter and we knew next to noting about him. But, we knew that we had to help him. We quickly learned that he has Lyme and dental disease and needs treatment. One of the kindest canines we've ever taken in, Duncan exudes sweetness in all he does. Although the Lyme disease and his bad teeth have taken it's toll on Duncan's body, he doesn't let this get him down. He loves attention, loves to be held and loves to be petted. Duncan is also wonderful with the other dogs at the Sanctuary and has many canine friends. The Sanctuary at NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue takes in animals with medical needs and provides long-term to life-time care for those animals. The high quality care that we provide is funded solely by donations and we are extremely grateful for any help we can get. Duncan has active Lyme disease and it's caused him to be hypothyroid, have liver issues and high blood protein. He will need to be on medications for 30 days, then retested at that point and again in 6 months. His prognosis looks good at this point. He has a few rotten teeth that must be extracted, too. Dr. Zulandt, owner of Madison Vet Hospital is treating Duncan. Duncan's soulful eyes and his willingness to learn new things are what makes this boy special. His charming ways just pull people in and they can't but smile when he's around. Even at the vet hospital, Duncan radiated love. Once cured, he will make a wonderful therapy dog and will bring joy to hospital patients and nursing home residents alike.
Onyx
Onyx is a 14-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix in Deland, FL, who needs $2,000 for Pilladia, chemotherapy.

I have had Onyx since he was a few months old and when I first met him, his personality immediately stole my heart. We call him OnOn, BonBon and RonRon. All of which he answers to happily! He makes the funniest noises when he’s his happiest self, after snacks, meals, walks, or even tummy scratches. He loves sleeping on my side of the bed on his plushy dog bed (He’s a mommy’s boy). He has been the best big brother to our son! And once in a while forgets we can see him cuddle with our rabbit. One time my husband started falling asleep with a sandwich in his hand and Onyx stealthy bit down slowly and quietly and backed away. It was too perfect to stop him haha. My husband recently had to change jobs and our income went down more than 70% than what it was a year ago. We have depleted our savings and credit cards trying to find answers and help relieve his stress and pain About 3 months ago we found out Onyx has cancer in his Larynx. The tumor started to grow and press against his throat restricting his breathing. The tumor is inoperable currently due to the size and placement. If we can shrink it, we have a chance to remove it or allow him to live out the rest of his life being able to breathe naturally. Onyx has been there through so many of my hardships. Deployments, the loss of family members, depression. I have leaned on him so much and he has always been able to make me smile with his goofy rolling over or his snorting and rubbing all over the floor. He is obsessed with his duck that should have been tossed a while ago but I cannot throw his comfort toy away.
Lil Lil Kitten
Lil Lil Kitten is a 10-year-old Domestic Longhair in Peoria, AZ, who needs $1,900 for surgery.

Lil Lil Kitten and brothers were being nursed in the driveway of a vacant house. The owners moved and left them behind to fend for themselves. Eventually I was able to trap them intending to find forever homes. I had 4 cats of my own. Even with much handling and love, it was apparent that they were too feral. This was 10 years ago. It took 6 yrs. for Lil Lil to come around. Even now, Lil Lil Kitten is timid and must be approached slowly. Once near her, she let's me pet her and purrs like crazy! Even likes her belly rubbed. She loves her family, especially Mom but doesn't interact with the other pets. Is sure to talk to me when she wants to eat and doesn't miss a meal or treats. She is very good for her groomer although I don't think she likes her lion cut.😁 I have very limited finances with Social Security and a small retirement plan. I have been recently diagnosed with Parkinson's Syndrome and have spent the last few months having various tests and xrays performed. Copays are very expensive. After Lil Lil's last groom, I noticed a lump on her side. My visit to Dr. Ketcham at Fletcher Heights Animal Hospital revealed that the lump is a probable sarcoma and should be removed. The cost estimates for the procedures including needle aspirates with cytology and tumor removal and biopsy total $1900. A second opinion from Vistancia Animal Hospital was the same as Fletcher Heights. Lil Lil Kitten got her name from the black cat that I already had whose name was Lil Kitten. They looked almost identical. The only difference is that Lil Lil has white whiskers. The original Lil Kitten was a bottle baby that I took care of. She was without a name so was just referred to as Lil Kitten.
