Firefly
Firefly is a 10-year-old Greyhound in Geneva, OH, who needs $395 for GI Series and X-Rays Needed to Diagnose Extreme Weight Loss.

Now 10 years old, Firefly sustained a serious injury to her right rear leg when she was 4 and she never received the surgery that she needed. Instead, she was shipped to a breeding farm and whelped several litters of puppies. No longer useful to her owner, she came to live in our Sanctuary. Sadly, there is nothing we can do at this point for her leg but she's developed other health problems. Firefly is a sweet, loving hound that gets along with everyone, humans and animals alike. Before her recent illness, she was always happy to do meet and greets at various events and was an excellent ambassador for her breed. Her calm nature and deep, soulful eyes drew people to her and the way she never let her disability get in the way was an inspiration to us all. We are a non-profit animal sanctuary to depends on donations to pay for medical bills. We've already raised money to pay for Firefly's previous medications, but need funds to pay for diagnostics. Firefly has been through so much bad in her life and she deserves the best. Recently, Firefly's kidneys and liver started to show signs of disease and she's not able to properly digest her food. She has lost a good deal of weight. Unfortunately, she has not responded to any medications and needs a special GI series test from Texas A&M and x-rays to further diagnose her illness. Firefly is being treated by Dr. Tom Zulandt, owner of Madison Vet Hospital. Firefly is a big girl, but she loves to sit on our laps! Somehow, she gets her long legs positioned and gets comfortable. Firefly is also one of the few greyhounds that can sit. We believe that her deformed rear leg allows her to get into a sitting position. She does have extensive nerve damage in that leg. She also has a heart murmur.

Kavalier aka Kav is an eight (8) year old curious and happy kitty. I adopted him from a friend when she moved out of state. She adopted him from the North Central Animal Shelter when he was a kitten and named him after the book, The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. He is a much loved kitty and brings so much joy to my life. He is just so dang cute, loving, and impossible to resist! Kav (Kavalier) is the friendliest kitty. He loves to greet new people and collapses on his side acting cute to get pets whenever he can. He has the loudest purr I have ever heard and it's so endearing. When he visits the vet for his annual vaccines he is always complimented on what a sweet boy he is. I was laid off from the Census Bureau in October. I am getting by with pandemic unemployment assistance and credit cards. I would be grateful for any financial assistance that you could provide in helping my beautiful boy thrive for years to come. In Oct, 2020 Kav visited the vet and an X-Ray found a lung nodule incidentally. He had repeat X-Rays in Dec, 2020 and the mass was stable. In Mar, 2021 Kavalier had additional X-Rays and a consultation at TrueCare for Pets in Studio City with Natalia Soto DVM, DACVS-SA to provide two estimates; for a CT and surgery to remove the pulmonary mass as it was determined that it had grown. He follows me (Mommy) wherever I go from room to room. He is always there to make me smile no matter what is going on. You will fall in love with him the minute you meet him. A person from OfferUp making a non-pet related transaction met him and immediately said, "I love you!" He has been known to turn multiple "dog people" to "cat people." He is amazing!
Roger

Even though Roger was on death's door, he kept winning hearts with his charm. It likely helped save him. A week ago, Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption received an urgent call from a municipal animal shelter. A wonderful and sweet Labrador, who got brought in off the street, needed help immediately. The dog was attacked. He had more than a dozen lacerations and injuries all over his body, including some near-fatal wounds. He needed emergency medical care, which the shelter could not provide, so workers contacted Lucky Lab. "When we saw Roger, we knew we had to help him," Amy T., from Lucky Lab, tells Waggle. "Even though he was in pain, you could see he was trying to keep his happy-go-lucky game face on. There was no way I could say no. The shelter said Roger won the hearts of everyone who met him during his short time there." Rescue volunteers picked up Roger and rushed him to Westcreek VCA Animal Hospital. The veterinarian called the rescue and said Roger was in such awful shape he needed surgery immediately. It appeared he was attacked, likely by coyotes or a pack of dogs. He was at death's door, and if he were bitten one more time, he probably would not have made it. During four hours of surgery, Dr. Jill McNeil and her staff sutured, stitched, and sewed Roger back together. He came out of the operation with sutures just about everywhere, a drain tube from one wound, a head bandage, and an eye injury. When the animal hospital gave Lucky Lab the post-op update, they added, "He's just the nicest, most loving dog. We are so happy to help him." Roger has to stay at the hospital for two weeks for bandage changes and wound care, so everything heals perfectly. He's in pretty fragile shape. Each time Lucky Lab gets an update from the staff, they tell them what an amazing dog Roger is. The good news: He is expected to recover and will hopefully be up for adoption in about a month. What a story, and what a dog! Go, Roger, go! Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption doesn't turn down dogs that need medical care, but the nonprofit rescue relies on donations to pay their tabs at the animal hospital. "Without donations from generous donors and help from organizations like Waggle, we would not be able to save all the dogs we do. We appreciate everyone who gives or shares Roger's fundraiser. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts," Amy adds. "Thank you for helping to save Roger's life."
Margot
Margot is a 6-year-old Domestic Shorthair in Seattle, WA, who needs $400 for Dental Cleaning and Complex Tooth Extraction.

Margot is an emotional support animal (ESA) that I adopted in March 2020. We lived on our own at the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic, but have since moved in with my partner. Margot is six years old and has a cracked fang. This impacts her quality of life by making it hard for her to eat pain-free. She is otherwise very healthy and a wonderful ESA. Margot is the socialite of the household. She is very friendly and warms up to guests very quickly. She enjoys being pet all over, playing with her toys, watching birds, and just generally 'chatting' at us. She's always sure to wake me up every morning for her meal and greet me every night after work for dinner. Due to a move and changing of jobs, my usual finances are not where they'd normally be. But I cannot leave Margot in her current state and continue to put my dear companion in pain. She is truly my rock in times like these. When I adopted Margot, I had an initial exam done in April 2020. They told me she had a cracked canine that would need to be extracted at some point before it got too painful for her. I just had another exam done with Dr. Michael High at Banfield Pet Hospital in Ballard, Seattle, WA; and he informed me of the same issue and mentioned she'd also need a dental cleaning. Margot is special to me because she really does know how to provide the emotional support I need. If I cry or get upset, Margot is right there at my heels, meowing to be held or to have me sit down with her. I love her little quirks, like excitably watching birds outside our window/on TV or finding one of her kicker toys & flopping over to play for a minute.
Rango
Rango is a five-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for jaw and eye surgery.

Rango was dumped, abandoned, and then horrifically injured. "We were initially told he had been kicked in the head, and I was just heartsick," Heather A. with One by One Animal Advocates, who saved Rango, tells Waggle. "I could not imagine how anyone could be so cruel. The vet could not confirm this was the cause of the injury and said he might have been hit by a car." A woman scooped up Rango and rushed him to an animal hospital. The cat had a broken jaw and a catastrophic eye injury. "The woman asked if we could help, and there was not a second wasted on thinking about it. He needed immediate and extensive care," Heather says. Veterinarian Mike Dyer and his team at the Proctorville Animal Clinic just finished surgery to fix Rango's jaw and remove his eye, and now his prognosis is looking bright. "Animals are so resilient, and while this is a huge hurdle to overcome, one day it will be only a distant memory," Heather adds. "Rango will now go to a foster experienced in tube feeding cats. Before long, he will start with soft foods and then start eating on his own. He will easily adapt to having only one eye. We are excited for Rango, who will soon be healed and living inside, never having to fend for himself again." One by One Animal Advocates depends on donors who can help them continue their incredible work. The group specializes in helping dogs and cats with expensive medical needs, like Rango. "When we see a cat who is suffering in pain and needs us, we do whatever we can to help. He deserves the opportunity to have a fulfilling life, and we appreciate the donations that allow us to give that to him."
Molly
Molly is an 18-year-old Puggle in Rockville, MD, who needs $500 for GI Panel and Ultrasound.

18-year-old Molly Muggle the Puggle lived with the same caregiver her whole life. When her caregiver died, Molly ended up in the system. A shelter in Florida sent her north to increase her prospects for adoption. She arrived at at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, VA where she was deemed unadobptable due to her age and chronic diarrhea. They asked us to me to take her in my sanctuary. Leashes End is an all volunteer senior pet sanctuary. Molly fit right in, right away. She waltzed in through the front door, explored the pet beds and plopped down in a nice cushy one! She interacts well with the other dogs... but sometimes steals their treats. She's perhaps a bit too curious about the cats... but she's learning. She loves to go on walks, eat well, and snooze. Donations make up about 11% of my budget. I fund the rest (about $60K per year) out of pocket on a Naval Officer's salary. Funds allocated to Molly's special care are funds that will be denied to other pets' medical needs. We need all the help we can get! Molly arrived in March with a bad case of diarrhea, which we thought would clear up once she relaxed in her new home. But it's persisted and nothing so far has helped: not special diet, not Fortiflora, not Metronidizole, not Panacur. Our vet recommends a GI blood panel to be analyzed by specialists at Texas A&M and an ultrasound in order to figure out what's wrong and how to proceed. Molly is darling. In spite of her hard luck so late in life, she's a lover. She's affectionate with everyone she meets. She's a cuddle and a nose kisser. She patrols the front yard and barks like wild when she spots neighbors out for a stroll. Oh, and that face! I love her snuggle tooth that sticks right out!
Jax
Jax is a 13.5-year-old Mixed in Panama City, FL, who needs $600 for Advanced Liver disease and Cushing's disease treatments.

As many of our friends and family know, we do not have human children. Jax is our "child".I was with a relative one day, going to see the puppies her friends dog had. Had not planned on getting one...just love to see cute puppies. They were only one day old. The moment I saw him I just fell in love.We took him home (when he was old enough) and He has been our boy every since. Almost 14 years. Jax is a silly fun loving pup. He loves attention and back rubs from all he meets. Watch out though because he is quick with the tounge and loves to give out kisses. Our family treats him like a family member not just a pet because he is so special to us. He has two cousin pups Berkley and Kuro he enjoys spending time with. He has a wild kitty brother he likes to play and cuddle with. During the pandemic while schools were closed we had only one income. During this time Jax became sick. He has already had about $3000 in surgery, test and medications just since July.He still has more blood test needed and medications are at close to $400 a month right now Jax has been under the care of Dr. Powell at Critter Care in Panama City, F. He wasn't feeling well so we spent weeks doing test and trying different treatments. Ultimately he had to have his spleen removed and had a liver biopsy. At which time we found he had advanced liver disease. He still wasn't feeling better so more test revealed Cushing's disease that he just started treatment for. Jax is such a ham. He loves chasing balls at the park, car rides, and walks on the beach. If you aren't giving him the attention he thinks he should have, he is sure to let you know with a little grumble telling you come on it's time to play. At bed time he is so funny. He will give you a look,grumble and Nod when he is ready. And he means business and won't budge till we head to bed.
Durk
Durk is a German Shepherd puppy in Warwick, RI, who needs $1,000 for Parvo Virus Treatment.

Durk was adopted just two weeks ago, after losing my dog Remy last month. He is just 9 weeks old. Durk has been adjusting well in his new home and gets to play with our 2 year old Husky, Oaklie. He gets to run around outside with her and is happy to have another dog in the house to show him around. We just got Durk two weeks ago, but we know he loves to play tug of war and run around the yard. He is also a big cuddle bug, always right beside me every night. He loves to be around people and get all of the love and attention that they can give. Durk has been the perfect addition to our family. Before my dog Remy passed, we had spent around $10,000 to figure out what was wrong with him and to try to treat him. We never found out what exactly was the problem, but after all of that, and him suffering, we ended up putting him down and letting him rest. Durk has been diagnosed with parvovirus and needed immediate attention after he had thrown up blood and had not wanted to eat. When he arrived to the hospital he had a temperature of 105 and was showing signs of some kind of infection/virus. Taylor Lafountain, DVM at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists have begun treating him and he will need to stay there for 3-4 days with medicine to recover. Durk is still new, but he has been trying to mimic what our other dog does, especially when she is looking out the window or walking around the yard.
Meeka

We brought Meeka into our family on Christmas Day 2016. We had just moved from Tulsa to Fayetteville. Previous owners said she's a a German German Shepard. The fluffy kind. She's about 10 yrs old and lives with me and my 8 yr old twin boys. Favorite moments was watching her see deer for the 1st time when many crossed our property. Few of them were prancing and jumping in the air teasing her. Meeka loves to get into the cold water on a hot summer days. She rarely barks. Exception was her seeing deer for the 1st time. She's extremely gentle, very laid back, and has never jumped on anyone. She is easy to please and very lovable. She sleeps on her homemade pallet and is a very gorgeous dog. I like that her size can be intimidating when needed. She's a perfect dog and needs to get better. Unemployed single mom of 8 yr old twin boys. Moving out apt. by March 31. Travel expenses to Tulsa to see my dad after hip surgery. Has bladder cancer for 2 years. Meeka loves to ride in car. Have to know what is wrong w her and hopefully get her well immediately. Meeka has ongoing ear infections. The veterinarian says it's an allergic reaction to her natural indoor/outdoor environment and diet. It's urgent for her to be seen ASAP. She's lost control of her bowels by possibly an obstruction or some type of infection.Hospital of my choice is Animal Emergency and Specialty Center of Northwest Arkansas in Springdale, AR. They are open 24/7. She loves kids. She is absolutely beautiful and at times is so fluffy she resembles a bear. People admire her where ever we go and are surprised by her fluffy coat. Although she doesn't bark, she's enormous enough (120 lbs) to always feel safe and secure when walking to taking her anywhere. Her personality is very mellow and she is happy when we are near her. She loves to go for a walk.
