BooBoo

BooBoo is a 13-year-old Corgi mix whose owner was elderly and was placed into assisted living and could not bring BooBoo with her. Unfortunately, no family members wanted BooBoo so the woman's son brought BooBoo to a vet to be euthanized! Thankfully, the vet staff didn't want to do that and several good Samaritans started looking around for rescue help. That's when we at Pooch Savers Rescue were contacted and asked if we could take her into our rescue, we were told that, although she was thought to be relatively healthy, she did have SEVERE dental disease, and would likely need all her teeth extracted. She came to us overweight and very confused and, of course, in DESPERATE need of dental surgery. BooBoo is now feeling SO much better and has pep in her step, a wagging tail and is ready to take on the world with a forever home. After being cleared to proceed with the dental surgery, we crossed our fingers and took her to Noah's Ark Pet Hospital on May 24. Upon pick up, we learned that, not only did she NOT need any extractions, all the built up tartar and calcified hair was chipped off and her teeth cleaned up beautifully! Her breath was horrible and we can only imagine how she felt living with a mouth like that! As with any senior dog, prior to any procedure that requires sedation, we do blood work, which showed her to be quite healthy except for early stage kidney disease, probably as a result of her teeth being neglected for years.
Riot

Riot is a very energetic loving baby. He runs around with our 2 kids as if he is human as well. His energy is very high. He doesn't realize how big he is since he thinks he is a lap dog. He is an inside pet that goes outside to potty and sun bathe. He has no aggression what so ever. When the kids go to bed he gets to relax and snores so loud he sounds like a semi truck. Riot came to us after our 17 year old pit bull passed away. He is house trained and always carries what we call his baby....his teddy. His relationship with each of the kids is different. With my son he runs everywhere and i do mean everywhere. With my daughter he loves to be loved. With me it's relax time. I have been a single mama of 2 toddlers with one who just started school and one about to start I have a hard time making ends meet. He is in need to be neutered to calm and relax him some as well as heartworm testing so we can put him on heartgaurd. Riot is up to date in shots but needs heartworm testing and neutered. heartgaurd. He sees etowah animal hospital in woodstock. I am beyond pleased to do the drive to continue his medical check ups. I cannot get him on heart guard until he is tested. They treated my 17 year old pit bull for several years and are beyond compassionate. They bond with their patients as if they are their own. Riot is always there to make you smile. His feet are always dancing and his hiney is always wiggling. He requires a lot of attention but because he has two toddlers that is never an issue. When he finally goes to sleep it sounds like a semi truck coming through. He loves rides. He refuses to sit in the front seat his spot is between the carseats. Like i said he thinks he is a toddler
Taco
Taco is a 8-year-old Chihuahua mix in Carthage , NC, who needs $250 for seizure treatment.

7 years ago when my youngest son was 1 month old Taco wandered up on my property. I took him in and have cared for him every day since then. He has been a valued part or every day. Just yesterday at 4pm taco had his first seizure. He seemingly had a mild stroke at the same time. 8pm a second but seemed to be improving. 9pm a large one with obvious brain damage. We need your help!! Please!! Taco and my youngest son Phoenix have formed a bond. My son suffers from extreme ADHD and they have been companions for his whole life. Watching my son and explaining as Taco had seizures was extremely difficult. It is 1232am and Phoenix is still up worried sick about his dog, knowing he has school tomorrow. We just want Taco to be comfortable or have the option to die peacefully without suffering I know this is a tough time for us all. Unfortunately, for our family it has been devastating. Lost jobs to being displaced from our home. This was unexpected and at any other time could have been handled. We need your help, please. Small animals emergency vet in Vass, NC has quoted me 135$ just for the visit, plus 110$ if he needs to be made comfortable or put to sleep if there’s nothing they can do. In the medical field, 3 seizures in a 24 hour period is considered an emergency situation. This last seizure may have caused another stroke or brain damage as taco is unable to walk or support himself. Even my other dog is genuinely beside himself and worried sick about his best dog buddy. You can see these relationships in the pictures we have shared. I am currently looking for work and am trying to move our household due to the pandemic. The thought of not seeing Tacos smiling face every day when I make it home is devastating. But I will shower him with love until that moment comes.
Shy

When the mother of Bella, our other dog died from a stroke, Bella got doggie depression bad. So, when a friend of mine's, dog had puppies, I thought it might help cheer up, our sad dog. Not only did it help our dog's depression, it helped both of our children that have mental illness to feel better again! Shy is our neighborhood watch dog. When the neighbor's dog barks, she jumps to the back of the couch, and checks for sketchy plastic bags. Spring time, you can find Shy outside planting her plastic sharks in a row, just like she sees the neighbors planting their flowrrs. Summer time she has her kiddie pool, that she loves to play in. Every night for walks, she meets you and twirls at the door. My husband broke his right ankle, and tore his pcl in his left knee, got a blood clot and ruptured a baker's cyst, which caused him to lose his job. He finally gets to go back to work at the end of the month My son was taking shy for a car ride, when he gets home shy gets out of the car, and is brutally attacked by another dog. After taking her to the vet and getting antibiotics we thought our problems were over, turns out they'd just begun. Shy ended up going septic, with her organs shutting down, she is such a brave little girl, but will still need ongoing surgeries from pets emergency Our little "watch" dog hides behind you and barks at any intruder. Unless it's us at the door, then she's on the pool table. The neighbor's dog patiently waits at Shy's door ever night for their walks. Her friend misses her terribly. Shy, is more than a dog, she is family. The local McDonalds knows shy's standard order for her ice cream.

In 2008 my mother saw something on our front lawn she thought it was a white rabbit. We are animal lovers and in our city we have coyotes.At first we thought I spots was a female and we got help and fount out he was fixed and a male. I looked for 4 month for his owners and no one showed up and we kept him. For 12 yrs now from living in the streets to sleeping in our home Spots is animal friendly, pet friendly and human friendly. He loves to cuddle with me. He loves to be petted. Loves to sleep just like me 😂. He loves his dog sister Kanella. If company comes over he loves to get petted and sit on their lap. I have never seen him fight or get angry. His not your typical cat. I lost bella (miniature poodle) to cancer she was 15 yrs old. Kanella had to get physical plus vaccinations as well as spots. The stimulus check when to provided for my pets and it’s all gone. He was diagnosed with skin cancer in april 16 2021. He has to have his ear removed. Cancer all ready took away my dog and I want him to be healthy. Vet said that with his ear removal he would live more happy years. Spots has never gotten sick in his 12 yrs he has lived with me. He has the cone of shame because I don’t want him to harm his ear because it gets itchy He loves people like i do. He loves to cuddle with me and sleep lol. He knows when I’m sad he just wants me to pet him and he purrs like crazy and I forget why I was sad. He loves to purr a lot. He sees me and starts purring very loud. He knows I love animals and we had hamster he never even tried to look at them.As well with bird we had nope he knew I loved them very much

Roxie and her twin brother Milo both came into my life in August of 2013. They belonged to my grandparents but shortly after getting them my grandpa got super sick and so I offered to pet sit. After 2 long months, they were unable to care for them and spoke of taking them to the humane society in our city. I was super attached and offered to take them off their hands and now they are my fur babies Roxie is super lovey. Her favorite thing to do is climb up on your chest and press her face against yours for kisses. She has always warmed up to guests easily and has never shown any signs of aggression or temperament. She’s my lovable little squishmallow! Everyone adores her and she shows love back just as equally. She’s got a big heart in a little tiny body. Covid has affected my hours and I am a single person who has also had her rent increased more than $300 in the last year. My credit has been impacted due to my circumstances as well. I do have care credit but due to a surgery for my other dog last year, it is almost maxed. Roxie has been a very easy dog with minimal vet visits or issues. Recently she has developed a bump on the left underside of her jaw and it went from tiny to what looked like a ruptured abscess in a few short hours. Our current vet hospital is Ada Veterinary hospital. We are new to this vet as our previous vet (Northwest Animal Hospital) was very unprofessional and not compassionate. Roxie is very special, but I think every pet owner thinks that of their furrbaby. She is the destroyer of toilet paper rolls and anything gummy. She mistakenly got ahold of a gummy bear once and now we can’t even move the bag without her right there to share. She also loves broccoli... cooked, raw, it doesn’t matter. She’s definitely a character haha.
Ernie
Ernie is a 4-year-old Chihuahua Mix in Phoenix, AZ, who needs $500 for Tooth Extraction.

Ernie is a rescue; he was found wandering the streets. It soon became clear why he'd been abandoned - despite his good looks, big personality, & even bigger heart. Ernie is severely epileptic. Without medication, his cluster seizures average 1 - 2 hours long. Despite mangled & severely arthritic toes (no nail care) & a crooked tail (untreated break), Ernie is the happiest boy in the world! For seizure control, Ernie eats boiled chicken, white rice, and vegetables for lunch & dinner (wherein I hide his epilepsy meds), with a spritz of CBD oil for pain management/seizure control. He lives with another dog and 2 cats, all of whom he adores (they... tolerate him), and is a mama's boy to boot. Mom takes him everywhere, evrn to her nanny job; he & the little girl are good friends. Due to a recent breakup (my ex stole my rent & my car), COVID, and the cost of Ernie's other medical issues, the cost of his extraction is insurmountable at this time. I can cover $300 of the $800, but any more would take me months to save. Ernie survived seizures in clusters as long as 2 hours, while wandering the streets in alone, on toes that were mangled & arthritic due to lack of nail care, with a broken, crooked tail (He's a fighter!). His teeth are also in very bad shape; a recent tooth infection caused a stroke - he was unable to walk or drink water on his own for weeks. It's imperative that they're removed asap. Ernie goes everywhere with mom - gas stations, grocery stores, art shows, etc. People most often comment on how quiet and calm Ernie is, & how mild-mannered (unusual for a Chihuahua). He loves to eat & becomes extra snuggly in the hour before his lunch/dinner is due. He snores when he sleeps, and often leaves the tip of his tongue pushed out when he does so.
Goldfish
Goldfish is an eight-year-old Tabby cat in Huntington, WV, who needs $1,150 for emergency care.

"You don't even have time to think. You know you have to help. There is no way we could have been made aware of the situation and look away," that's how Heather A., from One by One Animal Advocates, describes the moment she learned about Goldfish. "Imagine being alone with nowhere to go, malnourished, emaciated, and having to endure an unexpected cold spell with temperatures that dropped below freezing," Heather says, explaining Goldfish's story. "Desperate for shelter and warmth, Goldfish did not think twice when he came across a still-warm car engine. This is a practice we have seen all too many times and one that led to catastrophic results." As Goldfish tried to warm up, someone who did not know he was under the hood started the car. "Sweet Goldfish sadly got caught in the fan belt of a car engine while simply trying to stay warm," Heather adds. "The fan belt savagely ripped the fur from his legs, leaving only exposed skin, gashes, and excruciating pain. It mangled his body." The moment One by One Animal Advocates heard about Goldfish, they had to act quickly to get him immediate medical care at the Proctorville Animal Clinic. "Goldfish was rushed to the vet in the nick of time. His body was in shock," Heather tells Waggle. He needed IV fluids, antibiotics, and pain medications. Goldfish was emaciated, had open wounds and terrible ear infections. His leg had such severe fractures and nerve damage no procedure or rehabilitation could fix it. He needs to have his leg amputated. After Goldfish recovers from the surgery and his other injuries, he is expected to do well. Heather says throughout everything Goldfish has endured, he is still the sweetest cat. "It really is heartbreaking. It's really difficult to imagine the pain he was in." One by One Animal Advocates is a nonprofit group that relies on donations to pay for the medical care they provide for the dogs and cats they save. They are hoping to raise enough money to pay for all of Goldfish's treatments. "We try to help as many animals as we possibly can, but the need is great," Heather says. "It is through the generosity of others, particularly the Waggle organization, that we can say 'Yes, we will help,' when animals are suffering."
Maggie Mae

Maggie Mae came in our life as a surprise for my kids about a year ago. She currently owns 2 children (that's what shelties do 🤣) She has 2 big brothers that are pit bulls and definitely runs the house. She is a little ball of energy that loves to chase tennis balls and play fetch! She is very loved and we couldn't imagine life without her. She is a great little dog (15 lbs) that gets along great with her 2 pit bull brothers as well as my 5 year old daughter and 15 year old son. My son is definitely "her person" and she follows him everywhere. She is super sweet and totally happy to meet anyone, especially kids. We try to take her places with us because she is so friendly. I am just starting back to work and already have $1000 into bandage changes and x-rays over the last 7 weeks. I have no savings left and 2 other dogs and 2 children to take care of as well. It would mean the world to me if people can help by making donations directly. Maggie has always been a healthy pup. Up until 7 weeks ago when a child size trampoline fell on her leg and fractured it. The treating vet is Dr. Cooley at Hill Street Veterinary Hospital. We have had it in a splint for the past 7 weeks and it's not healing so the next step requires surgery to repair. Maggie Mae is a super funny little gal. You will have her full attention if you have a ball in your hand and she will play fetch ALL DAY LONG if you let her. She gets super excited when she sees "cookies" she starts to do little spins like a little spinning furry top! She loves to go for car rides and stick her little head out the window.
