After losing my sweet 14-year-old cat, Spice, due to cancer, I was – and still am – devastated. Spice’s death hit me hard. My niece suggested I adopt a new kitten or cat. I was unsure if it was the right time to do so, but my niece convinced me that having a new kitten would help me cope with my grief. I’m disabled, physically and emotionally, and need a companion pet. Even though Pippi has been with me for only 6 days, we’ve already bonded. Pippi’s sweet, loving nature has filled my heart with hope. I live alone and having Pippi makes my days more tolerable. Her silliness during play time makes me laugh and smile. But I'm most grateful for her affectionate ways and how she spends lots of time giving me love. I live on a fixed income which doesn't give me much money left over by the time rent and bills are paid. I know the responsible thing to do would've been to wait until I saved enough money, but my heart won out over reason. It'll be devastating if I have to give Pippi up. Pippi has never been seen by a vet but I decided to adopt her because my heart told me she was the one for me. I want to get her seen ASAP to get a thorough physical and all necessary vaccinations. I also want to spay her ASAP, because I read it’s best to do so before she goes into her first heat, which can happen at any time. I just wasn’t prepared for how much it's all going to cost. Pippi likes to follow me all over the apartment. Her curiosity knows no bounds! I named her Pippi because of how she quietly squeaks more than meows. I started calling her “pipsqueak”, then decided to name her Pippi, not only because of the sound she makes, but also because the Pippi Longstocking books were some of my favorites as a child.

We got Gracie from YHS in February of 2018. She came to us as an EMS for my 6 year old son. She has 3 doggie siblings, a purebred Husky, whom we lost in April. A Border Collie whom in 12 years young and a Queensland who in 11 years young. All very active and LOVES thier family. She is normally a very happy puppy. Gracie sleeps with my 6 year old son. When he is sad, she lays on his lap with her head and kisses him and loves on him until he feels better. She also helps my daughter, my other son and myself through some of our mental break downs. She likes to go for walks with the kids and is very protective of her family. We are struggling due to covid and just getting back to work... She is an ESA and makes everyone's day better just by looking at them. She needs to be able to go around with her kid again... She started acting funny and vomiting everywhere. She couldn't keep anything down. Not even water. We took her in and was told she had a foreign object in her stomach and her intestines were damaged. We came to Prescott Animal Hospital and Dr. Kilian because no one else would work with us in our financial struggle and save my ESA. She is very hyper. When we take her into the back yard, she runs around the fence line several times like she's at a doggie race track. She likes to help cook, she tastes the food to make sure it tastes ok. She will let us know when her water dish needs a refill. She will pick it up and bring it to us no matter where in the house we are.

Luca is a 3-year-old Cane Corso in New Smyrna Beach , FL, who needs $2,000 for TPLO surgery.

Luca was originally purchased by a couple from a breeder and soon after he developed Parvo and was deathly ill. It was also determined that he had an umbilical hernia that needed to be repaired. The new owners could not afford his surgery bill and surrendered him to the SPCA of Wake county, where I worked at the time. I fell in love with him instantly and I knew he was meant to be mine. Luca sleeps in my bed with me every night. He loves taking naps, going for walks, the dog beach, running, playing with other dogs and he is great with kids. He loves treats and lives for food. He is such a lover boy and is the sweetest dog I’ve ever known. He is the true definition of a gentle giant. I currently work as a patient care Tech. As much as I love my job, I am struggling to make ends meet. I hope to go back to school to become a nurse but this is on the back burner for now. I am unable to pay for this pressing and important surgery for my sweet boy. Luca tore his ACL and needs to have a TPLO surgery. It’s a very expensive but necessary surgery and needs to be done ASAP. I unfortunately can not afford this surgery, even with the help of pet insurance. My fur baby is my entire life and it breaks my heart to see him in pain and missing out on so much. He needs and deserves this surgery and we would be eternally grateful for your help. Luca loves everyone he meets, both humans and animals. He is 100% a mommas boy but he also is especially found of my sister-who lives with us- and my mom-his grandma. Luca lives with my other dog and my cat as well as my sisters dog. They all love to play, walk, swim, and nap together. Luca is such a goofy silly boy. He is not always the brightest but that’s part of what makes him so special.

I am 67 years and I live alone. I don't get a lot of money from social security. I have had Bailey for 4 years now and I can't imagine life without him. He saved my life so many times and I thank God for him every day. I could not afford to give him all the things he needs to have a happy life, so I am asking YOU for help! I live in a one bedroom apartment, with a backyard that he plays in. Bailey has a good life with me. If I don't eat, he does. I take him everywhere I go. He is a registered service dog. I am a Vet and have PTSD, and Bailey is my life line to get involved with people I don't know. He has a brother named Trouble, (a cat ). I have no family here so it's just me, Bailey and Trouble and they are a handful if you know what I mean, LOL! After he gets to the Vet and gets treatment, I know I will be able to take care of him the right way. I am on a fixed income so I can't pay for all the treatment needed. Bailey is my baby, I cannot lose him! Bailey has scabs on his head, neck, and ears. He has not been eating the last week or so. He can't get any sleep because he is scratching all the time. He does not want to play with his brother or his toys. Bailey is being seen at Shrewsbury Animal Hospital in Tinton Falls, NJ I pray that I can get the help he needs to come through this and be happy again! Bailey is three years old. Bailey can make me smile when I don't want to. He stands on his back and dances for me, I call it his meerkat dance. When I am down, he can just look at me with his big brown eyes and it's like he is saying " MOMMY what is wrong, can I help " and I just MELT. I LOVE him so much! Please help me keep my dog! He saved my life when he let my next door neighbor know I stopped breathing. He barked!
Christian

I encountered Christian upon moving into my current house. Initially, I could not determine if this striking calico cat was a neighbor's pet or if she was a stray. She was wary & although, clearly not a feral cat, with time suspected she was a stray or abandoned cat. For 18 months, Christian remained distant. In June 2017, her thin & hungry orange tabby kitten made possible our introductions. Christian had an additional pair of kittens in September 2017. Operation Catnip of Raleigh generously helped me spay & neuter the kittens & Christian. Christian & her close knit family maintain my front porch as their home. Their daily routines include hiding & playing in the surrounding woods. They visit with nearby stray & community cats & sometime re-negotiate shared neighboring territories. My income is limited & presently I have competing, necessary expenses: rotting house foundation and Christian's teeth. My house has to be repaired AND Christian requires dental surgery to be pain free and healthy. I love Christian & want her to be comfortable. I took Christian for a check-up to The Cat Hospital of Durham & Chapel Hill. For the past few months her tongue has been hanging out of her mouth. Dr. Edwards discovered she has severe periodontal disease. She has a number of painful and infected teeth needing extraction. These painful teeth prevent Christian from closing her mouth & they make it sore for her to keep her tongue inside her mouth. Christian is a shy & endearing cat; our affection for one another has grown. Christian also remains closely bonded with her offspring. Christian is smart & humorous & diplomatic in her relationships. Formerly abandoned, Christian is now clearly happy to have found a stable home living with her family on my front porch. I enjoy and value the friendship I have with this sweet & loving feline.

Meet my giant teddy bear and the love of our family’s life Cowboy. Cowboy was adopted at 4months old from Animal Friends of the Valley in Lake Elsinore, CA. Cowboy is now 8years old and he is our protector. At night he checks all the rooms before he goes and lays down between the 2 bedrooms where his boys sleep. Cowboy does not like being outside unless one of us are with him. Hes our gentle Giant Cowboy is an inside dog. If you let him out side to do his business, as soon as he is done he wants back inside. He loves water, car rides, playing fetch. He knows many comands like opening the front door. Cowboy is an alpha male. He has a buddy's name is Ranger. Ranger was adopted shortly after Cowboy because we thought he needed a friend. I am unemployed due to Covid. and I am on a fixed income. I was able to apply for care-credit but it just wasn't enough. I spent everything I had on the first vet I took him too that said he had IBS. I am 2 months behind on my mortgage and I have several late bills. Cowboy started having diarrhea so I started him on Chicken and rice. He started vomiting a short time later. I took him to the vet on Friday 5/29 and they gave him fluids and IV meds. Sunday he was vomiting and could not hold his bowel. I could tell he was declining so I took him to Emergency Pet Clinic of Temecula and he was diagnosed with pancreatitis and still cant hold his bowel. Cowboy is a very smart dog. He was housebroke in 1 week, he learned sit, stay, lay down, open the front door and how to throw a cracker in the air and catch it. He plays in the water every time the hose comes on. Hes old but sometimes that puppy in him comes out. Cowboy is a very vocal dog he loves to talk.

Sweetie Peepers is a sweet kitty girl who showed up in our neighborhood as a stray Oct 2015. Friendly and affectionate, she was a lost or abandoned pet. No collar/chip so no owner was found. Like a white cat I had as a child, she caught my eye. Seeming hungry for food and affection I started feeding and showing her love in return. Neighbors enjoy her too but I think she loves me the most. Several neighbors and myself feed and care for her. We provide a warm bed on the porch in the winter, and plenty of cold water and shade in the summer. One neighbor lets her inside their house at times, but she prefers to be an outdoor kitty. She loves the large yards in our neighborhood and has her special spots she likes to lounge and seeks us daily to be loved & petted. She wants to be our pet. Sweetie is a loving kitty who deserves comfort and the best life possible. I'm an at-home mother of two who doesn't earn any income, and my husband, who is not a "cat person" isn't supportive of spending for this. Please don't let Sweetie wait any longer for her extraction. Her canine tooth had a broken tip when she showed up as a stray. I had her tooth evaluated by a vet in 2016 to see if it was ok, and a cleaning w/ possible extraction was recommended. Cost ranged high. She needs a full cleaning under anesthesia and extraction of the fractured tooth, which is much worse now. Surgery will require x-rays so my plan for a low cost rescue group surgery fell through. I really love this little kitty! She's a sweet girl who flops over on her side and wants her belly rubbed up to under her chin while she purrs. She found and adopted me! The best pets are the ones who choose YOU. She keeps her soft white/gray coat very clean and has sweet multicolored white/pink/black pads on her paws. She runs up to me meowing for attention with her tail up and rubs against me.
Malin

After years of being apart, I was joyously re-united with my dog Malin last year. She stayed in Vermont with an ex of mine after a breakup as I knew she would be happier there for the meantime with 130+ acres to roam on a dirt road. Years later he contacted me in a moment of distress and asked if I would want to take her back and of course I said yes! I was looking to adopt anyways! Malin is VELCRO to my partner and I these days: she sleeps with us, she snuggles on the couch with us, she (normally) walks everywhere with us, even just wants to be in the car with us when we run errands. She is laying at my feet as I write this. She has learned new tricks since we were reunited like "paw" and "twirl" and has even re-befriended her two cat buddies Aengus and Gunther. I lost my job in early March of this year just as the Pandemic started here in the US. I only recently got very part-time and temporary farm work to help keep myself afloat. This surgery is serious, and unaffordable for us at this moment. Can you help Malin? I noticed Malin was having a hard time getting up a month or two ago. That has progressed into a CCL tear and/or to a total breakage of that ligament. My vet says she needs TPLO surgery on her left knee to repair it and have her back to her normal self. She walks with a limp, cannot put weight on her back left leg and is suffering and now rather depressed. Everyones first impression of Malin is: "Look at that smile!" or "OMG She is so sweet!" or "What a beautiful dog, what breed is she?" She twirls, she carries her rubber frisbee around wherever she goes, she can jump super high, she sneezes when she gets excited, she does downward facing dog when I do yoga, she LOVES CRONCHY things and makes the most ridiculous face when eating. The list is endless

Lobo came into my life about 3 weeks ago. My girlfriend passed away in December of 2019 and we had always talked about getting a puppy together. I had been spending months all by myself very depressed and alone and then Lobo came a long. In the short 3 weeks I have had him he really has lifted my spirits and made me feel happy again. It hurts to see him sick and I am hoping he recovers fast. Lobo is so loving and hyper. He is shy at first but once he gets to know you he loves to play with you. He is also a super fast trainer. He is only 3 months old and he already knows how to ask to go outside and use the restroom. He is amazing and already communicates a lot. I can tell he is happy here and I just want to make sure he is always healthy. Due to covid 19 and the loss of my girlfriend everything has been very difficult for me. For Lobo to be healthy again would mean I can continue to heal along side him. He has become my reason to continue. Thank you. Friday night about a week ago Lobo began to throw up quite a bit. I thought he had just eaten something that didn't agree with him. I didn't think much of it until the next day when I noticed he wasn't eating or using the restroom. He also started to appear very thin within a couple days. He went a full week without eating anything. Turns out he may have some fabric material in his intestines Lobo has been helping me with my depression. I love him so much already and it almost makes me feel like my girlfriend is here with us. We had talked about getting a puppy for over a year and wanted to grow a family. I wish she was still here with us because I know she would love him just as much as I do.
