I took in Sammy from her previous owner who could no longer take care of her. She got Sammy from her ex-husband who is currently in jail (I don't know why). Sammy has become my right hand, my partner in crime, and of course my best friend. When Sammy came to me she was timid, scared easily, and had a few health issues. Since then we've taken care of many things and she has grown strong and confident while staying a loving cuddler.

Daisy is an 8-year-old Golden Retriever in Toms River, NJ, who needs 1,600 for the removal and biopsy of a tumor.

Got Daisy when she was 6 months old... and through 3 moves and divorce she has been a big part of the family and a best friend to autistic son. she sets the camera off in the house every day at 230 and stands at window waiting for kids to come home. She is family and needs to spend as much time as she can with us

Presley is our 11 year old mini Yorkie. He came to us as a newly weaned puppy with his name. His brother and sister were named Peyton and Paisley so we kept his name to keep it part of his story. I am his Grana and best friend. We've been through all of life's ups and downs as pals supporting one another as friends do. Presley is big brother to a deaf and partially blind Chihuahua named Frenchy who wandered onto our property three years ago and adopted us. Frenchy is Presley's shadow and depends on him for visual cues in most aspect of his life. We walk most every morning, visit our favorite pet store together (the treats are the best).

Uno is a waterdog at heart and cant resist the urge swim or play in a hose or sprinkler. He would swim until he drowned if you let him, crazy boy. But he always comes back when called. Hes a barker, and a licker, and if he hasnt met you before he might follow you around the house nibbling your shoes to show them who's boss, but he is the absolute sweetest boy you'll ever meet. He just wants to be near his people. To please his people, smile with us and enjoy every minute of life just as it is. Since his injury, he's been impeded fro many of his favorite pastimes entirely. We cant let him play with the hose... there isn't a body of water that we can take him to without him having to climb... we cant even let the boy get excited to see us when we get home. At this point, some days he doesn't even want to. He just hurts too much. I'm crying as I write all of this...

Make came into my life by the city shelter taking him and his siblings in from a previous owner. I picked him out from the city animal shelter when he was a puppy at 2 months old. He was the quiet one sitting in the back while the rest of his siblings barked and climbed the fence for attention. He caught my eye because he had the cutest droopy ears and I was in love. I had to have him. He was far from shy once he started to grow up. He has become the most loyal, sweetest, loving furbaby. He always wants to be near me no matter what I am doing. I can be cleaning in a small area and he will find a way to squeeze himself near me. He is a great watch dog, he loves to play fetch, run and play with his brother(s). He loves going on hikes to the lake, parks and playing in the water, esp. when it rains and/or snows. I have/had three dogs, but one passed away a year ago and it really took a toll on all of us including Maks. I could tell he missed his brother tremendously. Maks and I have been together for 9 and half years and I would love to have many more years together with him. He is my world along with his brother, Ajay. Maks is a very energetic and athletic dog and to see him not be able to do the things he loves breaks my heart. My neighbor who helps me with my boys when I am away absolutely adores him. He gets lots of compliments from family and friends whom meet him.
Smokey
Smokey is a 4-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat in Wichita, KS, who needs $1,000 for treatment after smoke inhalation.

Smokey was in a house fire in Wichita KS. He was brought to VESHW by the Red Cross. We've contacted all local rescues and the animal shelter, no one will help cover his medical expenses. He's a very sweet kitty, currently receiving oxygen therapy at our hospital. His owners abandoned him entirely.

Socks is an 11-year-old gray-and-white Domestic Shorthair cat in Saint Pauls, NC, who needs $1,800 for rectal prolapse surgery.

Socks is my world. I've had him for almost 12 years. He's my first pet so he holds a special place in my heart. I named him Socks because his back 2 feet are symmetrically perfect like he has socks on. He loves my closet, my shoes, and anything plastic or boxes 2. He is my little sidekick and is definitely a momma's boy. He follows me everywhere and is genuinely my best friend.

We have only had Nikko for 9 months and we have absolutely feel in love with our son/brother. From constant walks and runs, and early morning walks with the little one to school. Nikko has done nothing but bring the family together and we truly couldn't imagine a life without or puppy we have fallen in love with him and him us we are truly devastated.

I got Harmonie from the Shelter if I knew when I saw her she that she was special. She has a radiant personality. Everyone is damaged a little internally but that doesn't mean you throw them away. Therefore, I could not let Harmonie continue to live in foster homes because of her heart condition.
